Just home and I haven’t caught up on the day’s events as yet. But here is some footage from Sydney.

The Sydney Opera House was to be lit in blue and white in support of Israel. Here are some evil protesters, who would murder a Jew at any opportunity. In fact, every Jew.

There is currently advice from around the place for Jews to be careful in Australia – and fears of a possible terrorist attack. And there is also advise to the supporters of terrorism to stay away from the city (Sydney). Both are from news I have heard on the radio.

American friends, This is a different post than what I usually do. It’s not an update or footage. in Israel there is a Doctor for Middle East matters and Arabs. He is arguably the number one in the word in understanding Middle East history, mentality, religion and politics. He happens to have been many years a Military Intelligence officer and he is from an Arab country himself so he understand also their language very well. His Name is Dr. Mordechai Keidar. He just had a long interview and I think that his analysis is better than anyone else that i heard. I am taking here the time to translate. It’s a bit long but it will give you a deeper understanding of what is going on than most others in the world. So here we go:
Q- Why the timing of the attack is now? Did Iran order it ? If yes why now?
A- I doubt that the timing is ordered by Iran. For sure Iran wants action against Israel but for them its a bad timing because they would rather it be a coordinated attack both with Hamas from South and Hezbollah from the North plus their militias in Syria plus their ability to fire missiles from Iraq and Yemen and other places. For them this would be the ideal scenario and therefore I don’t feel it was their timing.
In my estimation the timing was because of the Nature Festival that was by the border. Such party with thousands of people is an easy target and an opportunity to kill many and kidnap many. They knew this event and heard the music mainly at night. very loud music. So they probably sent people, maybe people inside Israel (arabs) and inspected it took a week to prepare and it was very visible. And the participants are drunk or drugged or exhausted and can’t resist very well.. This target must have been the trigger even if Iranians were not satisfied from the timing. They also thought that if they have hostages then its ok and Israel will back off and they can do another operation later when Iran is telling them.
Q- Did the Iranians plan it?
A- Undoubtedly it was an Iranian planning and Hamas trained for it in my opinion a whole year at least. Dividing the zones and means and tractors and vehicles etc…. It was planned to fine details. I don’t know what was known or suspected on our side.
Q- People think this could sabotage peace with Saudi Arabia? Saudies seems to almost support Israel on this.
A- There is NO situation that a state which considers itself the leader of the Muslim world will normalize relations with Israel when in the background Israel is bombing Gaza. It would immediately make them illegitimate in the Muslim world and lose its leadership. Not even if it’s a recent memory, the bombing on Gaza. This operation of Hamas in my opinion delayed the Israel Saudi normalization for a long time. Months to years. As long as this operation will be remembered they can’t enter into the same photo with Israel.
In the Arab world 70-80% are cheering for what happened to us. For Islamic solidarity reasons and a basic hate and possibly because other National Arab reasons. But I estimate 20-30% see it as a horrible thing because Hamas is bringing bad name to arabs and islam.
Hamas is literally “The Islamic Resistance Movement”. Killing children and women and the slaughter is giving Islam bad name. It reminds people of ISIS and now they need to explain and distant themselves. Their flag color is green (Muslim color). What they did does gets opposing views with muslims.
Q – Israeli Military Intelligence estimated that Hamas is deterred and will not act. Their estimation and explanation seems logical so how come it was wrong?
A- Because their logic is different than ours. It’s an Israeli estimation from Israelis who grew up and educated for democracy and prosperity and wanting economy and success and health. Those are the primary values. They don’t get it that in the Islamic world if it is a terror Islamic group they have a different order of importances. Other values and completely different way of thinking. Their goals for life and death are completely different. It’s hard for us to believe that others could have an opposite look at things.
If we want “health and prosperity and education …. Then they “must want it too”. So you get wrong predictions.
Q- So what are they trying to achieve ?
A – What they always wanted to achieve. Read their Creed! “Israel is occupation. All of it. Jews should live if at all, under the Islam.” Not with a nation or police or army. This is the destiny of the jews according to Islamic writings. And we give them discounts as if they don’t really mean it.
Q- What did they think and estimate when they did the attack? If in the past we gave 1500 prisoners for one soldier maybe they estimated that a large number of kidnapped will paralyze us completely?
A- Yes. They saw the drama and we gave over 1027 prisoners and don’t forget that one of the prisoners was Sinwar the mastermind behind this attack. We released him and he also had a brain tumor and we treated and healed him. And we knew him. We didn’t believe they mean what they say in their creed.
Q- DId they make a mistake in their estimation ?
A- If Israel decides to stop fire and negotiate for the hostages and give prisoners and let them stay in a control then the next round is only a matter of time. And we got 1000 dead and not achieve the goal to destroy Hamas and they will recover and rebuild. And you cant attack them first later if they don’t attack first according to legal state committing advice. So what will you do? Build a deeper underground barrier? The old one seems to not have worked. Apparently they had one tunnel with an exit inside one of the towns and they coming from there. So the old barrier under ground was either not full or not effective. So now we will make a thicker barrier over the ground that will cost billions? They will find other ways from air and other ways. So this problem must be eliminated and in my opinion today in Israel there is a consensus to eliminate Hamas. It wasn’t in the past. And the world is giving us a free hand for some time. How do I know?
The Us got to here a fleet and a carrier. And it’s a strong hint for the coalition of Iran, Hezbollah, militia in Syria and Iraq to not dare to get involved. the US basically is covering for Israel so that Israel can finish the work in Gaza. So will Israel not get it done? And what will happen to the kidnapped ? It’s a very very hard decision and I wouldn’t want to be the Prime Minister now. A decision between very bad and very awful. I have no idea what they will decide?
If Israel say “ok I got it but we must move forward” then its a huge error in the Hamas calculation. They didnt estimate that Israel will decide to eliminate and will do it. because if there is a decision then it will be done! It can be done with soldiers on the ground that will cost a lot of blood. And you can do it from the air a sea and cannons. House by house. demolish everything after you tell everyone to escape the city because we are flattening the city. And “get out of The Shifa Hospital” because all of Hamas’s Headquarters are under it.
“And the tunnels will only have dead bodies. So you better escape and Gaza will stay ruined forever.” And this will be a victory image and “if you people of Gaza want to save the city then get rid of Hamas”. How? “Find a way. “. You have a week. If Israel does so then it’s possible that Gazans will rise and do what they need to do to Hamas.
Q- I think their error was to humiliate our dignity, abusing a 5 year old child etc… You agree? We feel humiliated and this can bring a strong reactions.
A- The attack brings people back to Yom Kipur War and Holocaust so there is a consensus now to eliminate them.
I think they were “power drunk” and were surprised how easy they got in and killed people and soldiers. They overwhelmed people. They felt like they hit the jackpot. They thought they could do anything. And now Israel is recovering and called in the reserves and send soldiers to the border and the north too and the Americans arrived and now it’s time to do what’s should be done. How long and home many casualties I don’t know but there are methods to reduce the casualties. In the form of taking down house by house like the Russians did in Syria in Haleb. There were 100 of ISIS and its good that we compare Hamas to ISIS because it prepares the world to accept that we will do to Hamas what the world did to ISiS.
Q- Why don’t Gazans rebel against Hamas?
A- The cruelty of Hamas. Any rebellion or disobedience gets a very hard response. There is a mosque in Gaza and a group were in there and established another organization. Hamas considered it a rebellion and pulled them out and shot them all in the street. Then they went to the house of their religious leader and killed him and his women and wiped them out. This is how they dominate.
So the question is how people would rather die? The collapse of their home by Israel or by demonstrating against Hamas. It’s their choice.
Q- How do you deals with the hostage problem ?
A- There is no easy solution. One way is agreeing to a truce and an exchange and Israel releases terrorists and make concessions in Jerusalem and they release those they admit they have and could hide some.. And Israel get humiliated and the whole world looking at it as a “dirty rug nation”. And Israel explains it that it did the right thing as it cares for every person. In the Arab world they will laugh at us.
The other option is to go into this war and try to save anyone we can and warn anyone if anyone is caught harming the hostages they wil pay badly. And after Gaza is a rubble city Israel presents to the world those tunnels, destroy all their infrastructure that they have under the hospital. Destroy all their factories and kills all Hamas people. Then the world understands that crossing the lines carries a huge price.
It’s a war and in war not everyone comes back alive. In the Middle East you have to act a certain way if you want to survive or you better go elsewhere. We should give them an ultimatum to let go of the hostages if they want to live. They may decide to kill all the hostages and die and then we have to kill them and try save whoever we can. Those are two bad options. Give up on dignity and do an exchange or kill them and lose hostages. Should give them 1 or 2 days ro release the hostages and if needed you go house by house and level Gaza after you give the citizens a chance to leave Gaza. Tell egypt that if they want to save Gazans then let them in.
Q- Should we have a unity government?
A- Must if you want to make a serious operation in Gaza. It’s a necessity. Put aside the differences. The recent protests reduced our deterrence dramatically. They looked and thought that Israel destroying itself and there is in the Koran a sentence that says “the jews will destroy their own houses”. They thought it is happening. They saw division and internal hate and it is possible that this was the trigger to the timing of the attack. They thought Israel is weak and in conflicts so let’s do it now.

Why, yes. Yes I did.

Then there is this:

He cannot get a good read on whether or not you are interested in him. And, as you said, you are a customer.

He’s not wanting to cross any lines in a way that will push you away, and at the same time he’s trying to go slowly and detect if you have any interest.

Hence, the need to go for coffee. And no, he was not wanting to go for coffee alone. It would give him a chance to understand you better and not scare you off as a customer if you are not interested. Coffee seems a pretty safe way to gauge interest without being viewed in a negative way.

Ok, now that one has me thrown a bit. Are they older and looking for a show and chuckling as you two don’t quite connect but seem to want to spend time together? (That’s my theory anyway.)

The answer to that would involve understanding how women think, and after 33 years of marriage, I recognize I will *NEVER* understand how women think. No matter how hard I try….

But I can tell you a bit about how men think. And he thinks he cannot get a good enough read on you to make a flat out date offer.

Hence the coffee idea.

And yeah, he’s trying to figure out how to understand that whole American Legion ladies blocking maneuver as well.

Remind me sometime and I’ll tell you a cute story about having trouble reading a girl’s interest. Sometimes a guy almost needs to be hit over the head with a stick!

Meanwhile…….if you sort out the American Legion ladies and their motives, I’m almost as curious about that as you and your farmer friend.”

I don’t even read the Gaza stories, just the headlines. I don’t watch the videos or look at the pictures because I don’t need those images in my head. Just the knowledge of what they did is quite enough. 
 
We have seen mass shootings before in the news. Some madman shoots up a school, or a music event in Las Vegas, or a shopping mall, or a parade. But this was different. Hundreds of madmen came together and made common cause to plan, organize, coordinate, practice, and carry out a mass murder of hundreds of innocents – men, women, children, even babies. Not from bombs dropped from the sky, but by individuals, up close and personal. 
 
As if that wasn’t bad enough, their act was quickly followed by individuals and organizations, who we thought were merely misguided, announcing their approval of the slaughter and organizing public demonstrations of that approval. It is hard enough to wrap one’s mind around the organized slaughter, but the displays of approval are mind crippling. Both are obscene. Both are abominations
 
“Who knows what evil lurks I the harts of men?” Black Lives Matter knows. Hamas knows. Code Pink knows. DSA knows. Certain congress persons know. It lurks there.
 
So I can’t sleep.

Good morning all.

Frost here at my Indiana home. Temp is now 36.3 deg. F. according to my home weather station. But a little warmup for a couple of days and we will be seeing high temps in the mid 70’s Thursday and Friday before getting cool again.

Though the disturbance in the Gulf has disappeared from the NHC map, that does not mean it is not there. It just means that the NHC as determined it to have primarily nontropical characteristics.

Recon yesterday showed it to have 23 knot winds. It will still track to the west and bring rain and wind to gulf coast and Florida.

Here is the current satellite image.

The probability for development of a real TS in the Western Caribbean is still pretty high. So will keep a watch on it.

Those of you in the NW US are in for some wet weather, which I know you all are generally used to this time of year.

Decamber 1929, Tacoma, WA.

The USS Lexington CV-2, the US Navy’s first truly capable Aircraft Carrier. The Lexington and Saratoga CV-3 were the test bed ships upon which the US Navy developed the aircraft carrier operating procedures that would carry it into WW II.

Originally laid down as Battle Cruisers (A Battle Cruiser was a ship that carried Battleship firepower on a hall having less armor protection than a battleship there by producing a ship faster than a battleship.) that would have 16″ guns. Construction was stopped when she was 22% completed and due to the limitations of the Washington Naval treaty she, and the Saratoga, were converted to aircraft carriers.

Both ships were constructed with an expensive Turbo-electric drive. A system where steam generation drove generators which in turn provided the power to huge electric motors that drove the propeller shafts. That system was powerful and provided a much quicker throttle response than the conventional steam turbine drives typical at the time. The drive system produced enough electrical power to supply the needs of a small city.

The NW US had suffered drought conditions in 1929 and the city of Tacoma Washington was particularly hard hit because it relied primarily on hydroelectric sources for its power. As the water levels dropped in the rivers rationing was necessary and one of the largest employers, a saw mill, had to shut down operations altogether. Even the Army base at Ft. Lewis had lights out at 16:00 to help ensure that the citizens of Tacoma could heat their homes at night.

In those conditions the Mayor of Tacoma appealed to President Hoover for help. Hoover sent on the request to the Navy. At first the Navy refused, but then they realized that taking part would allow them to do docked tests of the Lexington’s steam turbines and generators that would reveal what the true maximum capacity of the system was and so decided to help out.

The Lexington provided 25% of the power for Tacoma over the next month until rains and melting snow pack relieved the situation. Then Seattle Washington asked for the same assistance, but the Navy, having the data it needed, refused.

It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.     – 1 Peter 3:17

A woman admitted to a counselor that she became very aggravated when her husband essentially “pushed her hot buttons,” sometimes in fun and other times to cause her grief. Among other things, the counselor suggested that when he did that, she should bless him, and actually say, “Bless you, dear.” Do you think that was easy for her? And yet, think of the prime example in God’s Word. 

Christ Jesus suffered all the years of His life on Earth because of people’s harsh words. His troubled soul, in agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, caused drops of blood to fall as sweat from His brow (Luke 22:44). He asked the disciples to pray with Him but they slept instead. In the end, He endured such a cruel death, but either He kept silent, or His words were still gentle and forgiving (Matthew 27:14). It was God’s will that He should suffer… for no cause of His own, but for the sins of all people. 

The apostle Peter encourages people of faith when he says, “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good” (1 Peter 4:19). If you suffer because you have done wrong, be ashamed. Neither suffering is pleasant, but as today’s verse states, “It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will.” In that case, let your testimony before your enemies express your faithfulness to the God who is always faithful to you. 

Be ready for suffering that might come because of your faith. Pray for those governing officials who believe to stand firmly in their faith. Focus wholly on the Lord who gives strength to His people.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the morning when you arise
Thank God for the lovely sunrise

So many are suffering in various ways
From family problems to general malaise
From discouragement to deep depression

Our own concerns become less of a bother
