*Hamas threatens execution of the hostages.
*1000 Israelis murdered on Israeli soil. The numbers keep rising. There are a few hundreds struggle for their lives in hospitals.
*At the strongholds of Hamas in Gaza whole neighborhoods were wiped out.
*Deputy commander of a Brigade killed in a confrontation with terrorists from Lebanon. Must be Hezbollah. Israeli doctrine is the commanders physically lead which can have a high price.
*The White House was lightened with blue and white Israeli colors. Solidarity. Will take it even if don’t like the occupants right now. Miss Trump.
*The Head of the Joint Staff of the US had a talk with the IDF Chief of Staff about making American Military support in the region stronger. My Interpretation: American fleet is on the way to deter Iran and Hezbollah from joining the war. We in Israel don’t like it. Israel should not rely on anyone else. Specially not Biden. Again , we miss Trump. On second thought it does feel good to know we are not alone even if the move is symbolic.
*Netanyahu -“What we will do to Hamas will eco for generations.” “We will treat them like ISIS” (like treating ISIS.)

*My sister in law in Haifa told me that the largest hospital in the North (Rambam Hospital) is converting the parking structure to a hospital space. It’s the north. Could mean preparation for a war in the north with Hezbollah.

*IDF – “So far we attacked 1707 targets.” Air Force.
*The leaders of the US, Germany, Italy, UK, France in a joint statement condemning the attack, warning others from joining the war and saying they support Israel. Wow what a change ! The Globalists are supporting Israel. I wonder why and for how long?
*The popular Telegram channel in Gaza is pleading not to publish names of terrorists because “the IDF is bombing their homes”. Some terrorists will be homeless and familyless. There is a black list of all the involved. Israel is known to have a long memory. All the involved directly or indirectly are going to die. I am sure.
*American Israeli in Miami – a wealthy guy- is organizing an operation room with volunteers. Arranged and arranging flight tickets for Israelis who are reservists abroad who want to come to fight. The numbers are confidential but I am sure that there are thousands who are coming back to fight. But the airport is closed. But airlines are getting prepared to help with this effort as soon as they can.
*Speaker of the National Security of the US (or whatever it is called) John Kirby is choking on live TV when asked about the images of the kidnapped. He is saying they have no direct intelligence of Iran’s involvement in this attack. (Israel will know the whole chain to the top shortly. From prisoners and other means).

I think I will pack up some of this cooler weather and send it on down to you. It’s just a bit SOON to be this cold this early in October. We didn’t get to go camping this year, but turning as it is – camping may not be possible. Oh, we have the propane-powered heaters, and the tabletop generators, but not sure my joints could handle the cold, nor would they cooperate with me with the ground sleeping.
We have a BIG tent – 8 to 10 person that is nice and airy with an enclosed – screened in porch. Or, we have the small 3-person tent that is like a sweat lodge. The former is great for hot summers; the latter for colder weather… but neither is great for cranky joints and achy bones.
I did get a little out of hand buying the Big Tent. I need a bigger car/truck to transport it. Collection of camping gear can be a sickness… lol. One, I enjoy a little too much.

It’s not too hard. If the image you want to post is already “hosted” (backed up by someone’s server) on a website, all you’ll need to do it copy/paste the URL to our site.
It the picture is from your own computer or not hosted, you will need an “image hosting” site like Imgur (the one I use) or Postimages. There are many…here’s a pretty good explanatory article:

Please – grab the book. It’s a good read. Oliver Stone is a liberal director – however, Stone is also a constitutionalist and he was immediately attacked after publishing this book in 2017 and putting out the documentary “Ukraine Under Fire” by his liberal cohorts. They attempted to deplatform him. Does that sound familiar??? If liberals are trying to deplatform and eat their own, we should probably listen to what they are trying to suppress. Russia also has a law against propagandizing LGBxyz to children K through 12 because they should grow up in the religion or practices of their families. They are too young to be assaulted with such garbage. Their focus should be family and real academics.

I was able to see it, thank you, David. Made me a bit upset. I have a huge heart for the military, for our police, and our firefighters. Huge heart and love for them. To watch the civilians pepper them with snacks and flags, you would think it merely a Veteran’s Day Parade – not a send off to war.
I see those young faces heading to war and my Mother’s heart clinches and fills with worry over someone’s son or daughter trading comfort for fighting. I do not view it a parade. I view it the direst of circumstances and my heart and prayers go with the brave into battle to protect your freedom. (and ultimately ours…)
It makes me think of America’s battle hymns and I am so much more emotional over them as I ever was.
It’s customary in Israel to show love to the soldiers before battle and uplift them with music and dancing and snacks and food. There are also videos of soldiers dancing and singing before battle. The spirt must be uplifted and fear overcome.
I understand…. God love them. I love that your nation is appreciative.
Our nation doesn’t have the greatest track record caring for our veterans, which was one of the reasons I loved Trump so much. He brought our Korean War dead home… the war my father fought in and the nation my father served on behalf of the United States government.
My dad was stationed the first 8 years of my life in South Korea training the Korean men to be military police officers. It was very hard for us remaining in Central Indiana and my Mom going it alone through some rather harsh times. I have only recently begun to learn about my father’s military honors.
We love our military and pray for their leadership and for sane minds to prevail.

A quick look at Fox News and CNN. CNN make me want to vomit. Their reporter is walking amongst the bodies of the Israeli young people who were murdered in the festival. 260 bodies were located. And some bodies of Hamas terrorists and she is saying “Bodies of Hamas fighters”. Now, since when you call a terrorist a “fighter”? Did you call the bombers of the Boston marathon “ISIS fighters”? Then I see the headline of “900 Israelis died 600 Palestinians died”.
The victims of the terror attacks are compared numerically to the victims of mainly Hamas. I can see where this is going.
In a week it will say “1100 Israelis died , 5000 Palestinians died”. Again most of 5000 would be Hamas people or those who were told to get away or else and decided to stay in Hamas areas. So sick. They and BBC and others are doing it for year and compare death tolls which are terror victims to “Palestinians” when it’s mostly terrorists. And they keep calling terrorists “fighters or militants.” Imagine Bin Laden “Muslim fighter”. I had my rant. Thanks.
I hope you can take comfort in the collapse of their viewership. I’m convinced the only ones watching CNN are those trying to keep abreast of the lies they’re spinning. The are utterly absurd.

‘Proportionality’: Why International Law Gives Israel a Freer Hand Against Hamas
Palestinian deaths will continue to rise as Israel invades Gaza to attack Hamas and rescue Israeli civilians. Israeli casualties will likely stop climbing, provided Hezbollah does not open a second front by attacking from Lebanon.
That will lead to claims that Israel is killing “disproportionate” numbers of Palestinian civilians. But that is a false use of the doctrine of proportionality in international law.
Under international law, while civilian casualties are to be avoided, they may be lawful in wartime if the number of deaths is proportional to the legitimate military goal, not to the number of deaths on the other side.
This war is different from past conflicts between Israel and Hamas.
Previously, Israel’s military goal was to stop and deter Hamas attacks on Israeli cities. Now, the goal is to remove Hamas from Gaza — and it is a legitimate goal, though it will be harder to achieve, and will result in more deaths.
Ultimately, responsibility for Palestinian civilian deaths rests with Hamas and Iran, who launched this conflict. Israel will likely do what it has done in previous conflicts: call off airstrikes where civilians are spotted; warn residents of imminent missile strikes; and place its own soldiers at risk rather than wipe out entire areas.
But in terms of international law, Israel has far more leeway than it did before, though its critics will claim otherwise.
This time is different, it won’t be pit for pat this time
This time it was such an abhorrent attack on civilians that the whole world could see it
This time Netanyahu has set the mission as eliminating Hamas once and for all
There’ll still be bitching and moaning about “measured response” this and “proportional” that, but it won’t stop Israel, even if the US starts to lean on them.

I keep thinking of the video of the festival attendees taking cell phone video of the paragliders. How… if I were there… I would think it some enhancement to the festivities… an action intended to entertain. I would never have thought them attackers until knowing too late. I’m too Pollyanna in some ways.
Makes me rethink any participation in upcoming concerts or novelties I would have participated in with my daughter. Makes me angry for the disruption of life and safety.
There are simply too many invaders in our country. Too many to feel free to go on nonchalantly with life as if nothing has happened.
I have an immigration attorney in the office building I work at. I see the people going in and out of there and I wonder what she makes of all of this? Is she still processing people for legal entry into our country, or is she giving that up and just registering illegals for social services? She seems like a nice woman and we have exchanged salutations, but now she says hardly anything.
What the DC administration has done is total treason. What they’ve done on a global level is crimes against humanity.
I can pray for them, but my prayers are for them to be stopped in whatever means possible.
I’ve read that many children of intelligence professionals grow up with the strict instructions, “Always avoid all crowds at all times, at all costs.”
I was married to a military intelligence officer and the daughter of a military police officer.
Whenever I traveled with husband there were some places we knew we couldn’t go and some places that he would have to be briefed on. Our bank accounts would randomly be frozen and one time pur neighborhood was blanketed with DOD business cards in which our neighbors were asked things like… “Would (Mr JWoo) ever take a bribe?”
We thought that comical as we had just purchased our home and were new to the neighborhood. Our neighbors must have thought we built bombs in our backyard. Lol
Having had the experience living the lifestyle I have… some things, such as risk assessment are second nature.
Now to instill that second nature in our children.
And attempt to instill it in the population at large, particularly those most vulnerable.
It sucks. I know the feeling. Always finding a place to sit so you can observe all those around you and who is coming in the door or from any inside passage. Checking out each face and making judgements if they could be a threat. Checking your six whenever you are out and about in vehicle or just walking. Never ever being able to truly relax and put down your guard. It becomes ingrained and for a time afterwards I adhered to those habits even after I got back to the states.
Yes, Rah, all of those things. They have all become standard operating procedures since I was a young kid just watching my father and they probably saved me from more negative circumstances than I will ever know.
And don’t forget to maintain a healthy distance to the car in front of you for maneuverability and if you can, stay on the outside lanes, so you don’t get boxed in and can ride the shoulder if necessary. Always keep a hole for escape.
If you are followed – do not ever go to your home and always park with the front of your car out, so that you can pull out and forward and not have to crane yourself and the car to turn around in an emergency.
In Los Angeles where driving is a full combat sport – if someone starts to swerve into your lane – you get ahead of them and very carefully creep into their lane without crossing the line to warn them to keep a healthy distance. At least back in the day, this was a sure-fire way to wake up an impaired or unalert driver. You have to drive proactively and not reactively in Los Angeles…. but I found Chicago to be much more aggressive than Los Angeles ever was to me.
And God forbid you find yourself alone in an uncomfortable setting – get as big as you can and as loud as you can to anyone invading your space. Best to make them think you’re crazier than them and if they consider you a target – you won’t be an easy one.

Although I think I’ve read that they’ve established rocket fabrication capability there in Gaza, so Israel will need to seek and destroy existing facilities and prevent re-establishment … hyper-attentive satellite and drone surveillance and the will to hit them every year or two.
Because they’re now exceeding the Iron Dome capacity. Iron Dome was a great idea, but it’s now being overwhelmed.

Winter is coming and coming quickly!
We shopped ahead for the winter this past weekend.
Without Rah’s excellent weather reporting… it feels as though a hard winter may be ahead. My joints are professing and we had our first freeze warning last night, which is so abnormal.
It is certainly causing us to finish up season at work early. It’s been a banner year for the company and I’m amazed at no adverse reaction to our industry in these perilous days. Raw materials and fuel have increased a lot, but our book of business is strong, stable, and growing… so we will not impose a price increase this coming year.
Our customers are being hit with increases all around and we are choosing to go against the trend. We are taking a “see what the world is doing and do the opposite approach”. We hope they’ll repay in kind with referrals which we also reward.
Today, we have a healthy book of business and we are grateful. I’m looking forward to a break from work, though I’ve not scheduled when that will be.
Incidentally, visited the farmer friend and picked up some beautiful fall tomatoes, peppers, and squash. He told me that on the last day of October, everything is free… and he interjected randomly that he is single.
He told me which pumpkins to purchase for the best pie making, alas my daughter doesn’t eat pie, and my storage space is limited for puree. I will on occasion roast a pumpkin and keep the puree frozen in one cup increments for recipes.
The farmer is surrounded by American Legion ladies. I’m acquainted with some of them and like them very much and we laugh often together. However, they never let him alone with me and they follow us as he tries to talk to me and they constantly interject.
Makes me laugh. They protecting him or me? Or are they staking a claim?
I got nervous as this one lady mentioned she was going to run off to grab her jacket and I got nervous I would be alone (finally?!) with the farmer. She didn’t leave.. ha ha… and I could tell the farmer was roundabout saying the need to go for coffee.
He’s so sidesteppy and funny that internally I keep asking myself… “Is he asking me???” I’ve worked around men in a male dominated industry, so I’ve some experience to draw from and this is pretty comical. I think he wants me to ask HIM since I’m a customer and it’s a professional courtesy… but I will NEVER ask him. Nope.
I leave to go pick up Sherry in Florida and it is too hot to work out in the sun in the heat of the day. Come back three days later and it is see your breath weather when I take to dogs out in the morning.
Frost warning here last night but it did not happen. But fall has fallen upon us for sure. A bit of a short warm up coming. But still the signs are that we’re in for a colder and snowier winter than we have had in some time.
The severity of this winter for many of us will depend on how quickly this El Nino transitions to a Modoki El Nino and then weakens.

Blessings on you both. We did the same, and I sadly disposed of way too many beautiful tomato babies yesterday. There were just too many. We had two really large patio pots with tomato plants that stood almost 6 feet tall, as I kept them pruned back. They kept us in nice, small, salad tomatoes all season. Was also sad to dispose of the potted annuals. Will look forward to planting more seeds next Spring for the next yield. ‘Tis the season…

Patience – you know – I have never pickled a tomato before. I’ve made Escabeche (pickled jalapenos and carrots) before – but never tomatoes.
These are teeny tiny ones – the size of marbles. Thought about drying them out and using their seeds next year.
You would laugh, but I moved a big pot of dirt to my garage where it wintered over last season, and every time I had a Campari tomato that went bad, I never threw it away, I just buried it in that dirt…. along with several other kinds of tomatoes. Heirloom, beefsteak.
I yielded the goofiest, tastiest, heartiest, disease and bug resistant tomatoes this summer from that crazy pot in the garage. I may try it, again.
I will miss the flowers the most. I never knew Petunias to smell so good, but I had this purple and white variety that were magnificent. Visually, I had a bright red orange Morning Glory that was gangbusters. I tried to find more seeds so I could have them again for next year but had to get different colors. I’ll look forward to next year’s bounty.

Steve and Betty are gone for 10 days. They left me a bunch of tomatoes from their garden, both ripe and green.
I’m taking care of Cooper and the three cats while their gone. Feeding times, morning and evening. The two outside cats. Buffy and Caley, get theirs. Then Fred the cat that lives in the barn gets his and I clean his litter box as needed.
Then I walk Cooper and then feed him and clean the large litter box he pee’s in while in the barn as necessary.
So I’m getting 4 walks a day. Two for Cooper and two for Buckley and Geisha. Can’t walk them together because Buckley and Cooper fight.
So I did the morning routine and then put Cooper back in the barn. Then went grocery shopping with Sherry. When I came back I took Cooper out of the Barn and put him on his lead because it had warmed up enough.

Eerily similar to what just happened to concert goers in Israel this past weekend.

After the low pressure troughs pass through this week a little warmup coming for the central US next week into the week after.
But then, here comes the snow. Starting in higher elevations out west and moving east across the northern tier.
That snow map would indicate the possibility of some heavy lake effect snows coming off the lakes. Lake effect snows occur when cold air passes over the much warmer waters of the lakes. Once the lake waters get cold and freeze up the lake effect snows end.
And BTW, a cold October where Joe lives near the Penn State campus, usually portends a cold and snowy November and December for the NE US.
And last but not least. Europe gets an early blast of cold coming next week and when that happens it generally means it is not far behind for the US. The exceptions being Spain, SW France, and southern Italy, and Ireland. Everyone else will be running 2-4 deg. C below normal.

Have you all been thinking about the effects of Israel vs. Hamas will have here? Thinking about with our open border and who knows coming in that we will see same sort of attacks on us in the United States.
If I may be so bold – I would also recommend storing portable water. We keep 50 gallons in 5 gallon jugs in our apartment garage for the two of us. It may not seem like a lot of water, but we only used 1 jug for a camping weekend plus the other bottled drinks we keep on hand for two of us.

We take the time to filter it with our Brita – and as you store them – you should pour the water into a large bowl to oxygenate it prior to drinking for best flavor.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Update Israel:
I had to spend time confirming this one as it sounds unreal. I know it’s true from there sources two are witnesses.
In Kibutz Aza ( a small village) they find over 40 bodies of babies and children some of them beheaded.
in my social media group one commented that his friend is a combat soldier and saw it and burst into tears.
Another one I couldn’t believe until I saw the picture.
A pile of burned bodies. People who were burned alive.
A quotation of a briefing video of a commander of the paratrooper force that cleared most of the terrorist in the village with the dead babies, briefing some of the younger solders who were not there but will enter Gaza:
”We were 50 soldiers and we fought the terrorists face to face with weapons and hand grandes. I don’t know the exact numbers but we counted 20 dead bodies of terrorists and we left them there to rot. We cleared most of the place and then the reserves came to replace us. The reserves are awesome. You should be proud of your commanders, they fought like lions.
We are now going to take it to their field (Gaza). Hamas will not just regret what they did to us. They will regret the moment they were born”.
