Not that I know why God does what he does, but if God took all converts there would be no one left to share the Gospel to convert anyone else. God would rather Peter and Paul and the others live out lives converting and guiding the converted and suffer and die in the Cause than take them right away.
Imagine if no one was left to write the Bible, and if no one was interested in reading it. We surely would not ever have been Christian. We’d have no churches and no preachers. And who knows what we would believe?

I had to check to see if it was T.S.Elliot/Cats , and yes it was. Did you see the show? I loved it although I know a lot of people looked down their noses at it.
I loved the music, the fantasy, and the fun. There is also some sadness as in real life. Tissues are sometimes needed.
There is a full length version somewhere on video though seeing it in a large darkened theatre is fun as the performers pop up here and there, through side doors in the audience surprising them, and glowing eyes are seen in the dark, as felines do. :-))

When I moved to Wales the people who became some of the dearest friends I’ve ever been blessed with pronounced “Bette” as if it were spelled “Bet” (no ‘y’ at the end)..which is what they shortened my name to and I was known as all my days there. She really was a pistol was Bette Davis.

Actually it was I was so surprised to see them, just suddenly in front of me, a few feet away, and coming towards me, then hesitating and talking a little then resuming walking, , I was sort of star-struck and over-awed. I was a lot younger then, and in a way I did not want to intrude on them. They were near the St Francis hotel, in Union Square, San Francisco. I hate to think of of it looks like now.

I do understand why it is special to you. I loved Wales as it was a close neighbor of Cheshire. There was a kind of affection for it by my family and I went there when I was a child and stayed in a caravan several times. My Father was very fond of North Wales and went there to relax when he could. I love the Welsh accent. Once I called sirius after they stopped the Christmas music channel the day after Christmas (yet played it starting nov 1). I would call and vent betsy. As consumers, these companies need to hear from us.
in fact, I just called ortega (food brand) and complained about the shells diminishing to practical bite size (!) and how the packaging stopped using the hard plastic container to protect the shells. But my point to them was specifically mentioning the horrible biden economy and how we as consumers know what ortega is doing! We need to be vocal.
They never heard of the Twelve Days of Christmas I guess.
For the last two years they’ve started their “Holiday Pops” the day after Halloween or near enough. I know it’s too early for most, but not for us.
I don’t understand how they came to name that channel which has the most beautiful what I call classical Christmas music on earth a “Pops” station.

Israeli Update:
*A terror infiltration from the north (Lebanon) 3 terrorists dead. An injured Israeli civilian. IDF attacks Hezbollah targets more on symbolic basis than strategic. Still not knowing it was Hezbollah for sure, still trying to avoid escalation at the north. Hezbollah has 200,000 missiles that can cover all strategic targets in Israel, from airports to military bases. They are much bigger and stronger than Hamas. They still didn’t take responsibility for the attack.
My estimation is that if Israel see they start aiming hundreds of missile and acting as a preparation to war then there will be a preemptive strike starting with the elimination of their leadership. But it’s not necessarily a good thing now. There are questions of Israel’s ability to deal with so many fronts and missiles from Lebanon, Gaza, Iran, West Bank and Arab Israelis all at the same time.
*More terrorist infiltrations from Lebanon. Now 3 Israelis in hospitals. North towns are under sirens and going into shelters.
*A religious town by Jerusalem get a direct missile hit. Multiple injured.
*A quotation of the Defense Minister: “Gaza is under a complete siege. No power, no food, no water, no fuel. We are dealing with human animals and we are acting accordingly.” (Once the humanitarian situation escalate Hamas will be pressured to release the kidnapped Israelis. It may also be a strategy to cause Gazans to simply leave the area with no return. Those are my guesses.
*15 terrorist infiltration attempt from the South (Gaza) from the sea. Looks like they were eliminated. Not 100% sure about this one but the source is Maariv(one of the largest media news outlets in Israel).
*Netanyahu tells Biden that Israel will have to enter Gaza. LOL
*Netanyahu tell city officials in the South that “We are going to change the Middle East”. I assume he means end of Hamas and maybe more than that.
* Massive rocket/missile attacks on Israel including the center of the country.
*Relentless IDF attacks on Hamas targets in Gaza. I saw also targeted elimination of senior Hamas commanders from the air.
*Sources in Egypt Intelligence claim they warned Israel of imminent “something big” cooking at the Gaza front. They warned a week ago. Is it important? No. We know it is a massive Intelligence failure. There will be an investigation and people fired from their positions if not jailed. Depending on the findings.
*Social Media source that is usually reliable is saying three soldiers injured in the combat with terrorist in the north. If that is true then it must be well trained terrorist (Hezbollah). That can mean a major escalation.
*10 direct hits in Shderot city in the south. Buildings. No injuries people are already evacuated.
*A report from my source of a first B-52 American bomber landing in Israel. If correct it could only mean preparation for an attack on Iran. Israel don’t need the US around its direct borders.
*9 American citizens died in the attack so far. Unknown how many kidnapped with American citizenship. It may be the reason why American forces are moving in. I know American hostages is a serious matter for the US if this is the case.
*I see a few reports from relatively reliable social media sources of huge American airplanes landing in Israel. Don’t know what they are bringing. Could be ammunition. There may be a massive war coming much more than is now. I saw actual footage of the huge airplane landing in Tel Aviv airport.
*Thousand and thousands of volunteers in many cities packing food for soldiers and citizens of the south. Many many Israelis private and commercial offering free living for people from the south. I will keep an eye on the north. If they officially evacuate the north border area then you will know the plans are to fight Hezbollah in the north.

That is the ONLY way I can see that Israel can eliminate the threat from within.

I hate to say it … but America is lost. Perhaps we could get 50% of our people to FIGHT for our country … perhaps a few more once they recognized their government pensions won’t be paid … we are a soft people who occupy themselves with unserious endeavors.

Hamas has announced that each time a Gaza civilian is killed by an Israeli air strike they will publicly execute a hostage and post the video and audio of it.
Israel Army Radio said that while IDF will not target an area if they have intelligence that hostages are at a particular location, they will not hold back their targeting of Hamas even at the risk of hostages dying. (A senior Hamas official had announcsed that hostages had been dispersed across all of Gaza.)
This is going to get beyond grim. I think Hamas erred this time in assuming that people can be useful shields or that their threats against the hostages (even if carried out) would prevent what is coming.

Update . Israel. The Home Command is ordering everyone to prepare water and dry food for 72 hours.
Hamas can’t do much at this point. This may mean something is cooking with regards to Hezbollah and Iran. We know that Hamas was meeting Iranians and Hezbollah in Lebanon just before the attack. Israel may now know their plans and move first.
If Iran fires hundreds of Ballistic warheads at Israel or even nukes it will mean the US is in. But Israel never had American Soldiers involved and I assume it will not come to it. But logistic help against the Iranian nuclear sites it very possible.
Additionally. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a crazy operation in Iran even capture of their leadership in order to bargain for the kidnapped in Gaza. Iran is not expecting such a crazy move which is good.
If PDJT were POTUS … as legitimately elected in 2020 … we would be flying sorties WITH Israel … overwhelming Iran’s defenses and eliminating their nuclear capability … once and for all.
If Trump was President nothing of this nature would have happened. The sanctions on Iran would have crippled their economy so bad that Hamas would be the least of their worries. I am talking about money.

No. But they comply to the recommendations of the Home Command. Israelis are a bit on the careless side of “it will not happen to me.” But when it does happen they unite and excel.
Thanks for the explanation. It feels like it wasn’t too long ago that many Israelis had elaborate safe rooms in their homes, so I had the impression that the pantries would be overloaded. This century is not getting off to a positive start. Let us pray that God have mercy over this poor sad planet!

Having read how that complete victory of Israel over the Egyptians was obtained, here we are told how it was celebrated; those that were to hold their peace while the deliverance was in working (ch. 14:14) must not hold their peace now that it was wrought; the less they had to do then the more they had to do now. If God accomplishes deliverance by his own immediate power, it redounds so much the more to his glory. Moses, no doubt by divine inspiration, indited this song, and delivered it to the children of Israel, to be sung before they stirred from the place where they saw the Egyptians dead upon the shore.
My thoughts are that God set the parameters for Israel to follow, therefore you can look at the journey Israel made to become the nation of today and see that the rules were in place to achieve success. If I remember correctly, all through Exodus, a plan is set for the nation to survive…If they will follow these guidelines.

Hello American friends. I find out today that we had about 1,500 bodies of Hamas terrorists scattered in Israel. Just giving you the order of magnitude of the infiltration.
