Everyone is well, enjoying the cool weather. We got and inch of rain this morning. woke me up very early so after driving Nipper to school and working out I’m having a lazy day. Busy Lizzie woke up even earlier than me but decided to go to Walmart rather than rest. I was told thaat I was not a good shopper to join her. LOL! I like it!
Our oldest son and I have been plotting a two prong attack on the thermal scope thing. I will be the good cop with asking for a moderate one while he’ll be going with the top of the line model, Mom, we need this one! 😘
Good on the rain👍🏻 We’ve just been outside and unlike any day this summer, it was so pleasant. Pulled some growing things out of what used to be our beautiful garden before the big freeze destroyed almost all of it. We’ll tackle replanting next spring.

When I was the mother of pre adult human beings, I foolishly thought if I could get them to the age of wisdom, or near it as they left home to embark on the rest of their lives unsupervised by a mom who tried as best she could to prepare them (a semi futile exercise but at least I passed on enough of my own age acquired wisdom so they could draw on it when they met their own obstacles) I wouldn’t worry.
Oh foolish Bet!!!! No one tells you that it is actually harder to watch from afar. And even harder to leave them get on with it.
Our children are not ours really, are they? We have them on loan, so to speak, as they pass through. We are the bows and they are the arrows in our quiver. We do our best to aim them in a straight manner, then leave them to God and His loving care. In the end, angels can do no more….🙏🏻😘👍🏻

10/5/2023 – For God has put into their hearts to fulfill His will
Revelation 17:15-18 “And he says unto me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God has put into their hearts to fulfill His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which you saw, is that great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.”
“…The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.” For many it is very easy to see, how certain countries which are especially rich and powerful, and have become utterly corrupted and filled with violence; fit this description of “the whore.” However there are a number of Scriptures, in addition to this one, which indicate rather a spirit and a kingdom that reaches over the whole globe, and does not necessarily stop at political boundaries. And while it is true, that certain principalities and powers, and angelic princes rule over particular areas, according to the men that live there; just like we see happening with ‘humans’ migrating into other peoples’ countries, so do spirits mingle wherever they can find to go. To this it is important to note, how the Lord said, that nation would rise against nation, AND kingdom against kingdom. (Matthew 24:7)
This we know also falls in line with how Paul taught through the Holy Spirit, that there are principalities and powers in the heavenlies (the spiritual realms), over which are spirits of demons presiding, according to the men who inhabit those places. The wars and battles in the unseen, do not only mirror the things that are done in the world among men; but are intrinsically connected; like the connection between the spirit and the body, which is animated by the spirit; either ruling over the spirits of men, or else in bondage, and its will completely subjugated.
Proverbs 19:2 “Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hastes with his feet sins.”
What people don’t know about the things of God, and how he has made man, has been devastating and catastrophic for untold myriads, for many centuries. The nations of the Gentiles, which have held to the ancient heathen doctrine, of rage against the LORD, and against His Anointed; and doing all to thrust God and all truth and heaven, up off the earth, and out from the memory of man; have broken the hedges and the serpents have bitten. And the spirit of the whore which presides over “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues,” is one of the poisonous effects of the serpent’s venom.
There is war in the heavenly realms still ongoing, from when the dragon and his angels first rebelled, and were cast into the earth. The whore riding in wealth and luxury on the back of the beast; drunk with the blood of the innocents, the saints, and the witnesses of Jesus; God is stirring up all the other kingdoms of the devil in the unseen, and in the earth, to make an alliance, for the express purpose of first eliminating the whore, and then to set up the abomination of desolation.
We have a tendency to look only at particular countries, that are lining up to agree and to work together to overthrow the wicked rich and their hegemony. But this war and the kingdoms at war, cross over national identities; and therefore must be sifted out from the opposing forces on another level. If we look at one group as having perhaps a more righteous cause, against an implacable tyrannical ideology; we should not however be lulled into feelings, that cause us to deviate from the truth, specifically about what those spirits are really looking towards, beyond getting rid of the filthy murderess.
Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
When we read the whole of this part of the Scriptures, as having one overall theme and direction; and if we do not give in to singling out favorite verses, apart from the very grave and terrible whole story; then we will understand better how that God is directing all these things, for something that is not limited to any political or geographic region; and therefore must need that kind of war, “kingdom against kingdom” that will be able to separate out and bring to judgment the great whore.
In this then will be a very important part, of just how powerful will be the “working of error,” and the “grand delusion,” which men will be willing to sell their souls for, in such whole hearted and determined agreement, even to their eternal damnation; so much believing that they are right, and their cause morally superior, and therefore justified to make war against the saints, and eventually against the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, preparing their armies and munitions to meet Him at His coming.
So, in other words; while we can see how it is God who is directing and arranging for the destruction of the great whore; it will not be for the freedom of the world, but for the revealing of the man of sin, and setting up the abomination of desolation. These are not times for Christians to be carried away as with a flood, in the affairs of the political struggles of the world. God is directing them to bring about the end; which He will do “without hands!” The Rock cut out of the mountain, which will smite the image on its feet, is not the saints of the earth uprising against the beast; but Jesus coming with all His holy angels in power and great glory from heaven!

Who is it that carries construction materials, beams, boards, windows, doors, and roofing – and says – “right here”?
Taking Harry Houdini, the Maine Coon, to the vet this afternoon. He’s limping on his right forepaw. He was fine this morning and then he and Timmy started playing in the Chewy boxes. Now, he’s injured. I think Timmy-Two-Toes tried to grab him. Tim just plays too rough. Will be the second time he’s sent Harry to the vet.
Lots of work to do. Lots of prayers. Lots of “lots”.

Mine grew too fast. It happened when I was too busy with the frantic pace of life as a mom of three to understand that passing time does NOT have a pause or rewind button.
But I was given another chance to recover what I missed…with my children’s children. It has been glorious!!
That was the case with my Grandmother. She had it so tough as a Mother, that she really loved being the best grandmother ever. She did not have the worries and could really do the things she loved and excelled at. And she sure excelled.
How absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!! Look what she did with and for you, dear friend. You are very probably the man you are in great part because of her. And we here are all the richer for it. God bless her precious memory🙏🏻🕊
My 90 yo Swedish Great Grandmother took all her leftover pie dough, rolled it out, cut it into strips, dusted it with sugar and cinnamon, baked until light and bubbled … and gave it to her grandsons as a treat before the pies were sliced. And yes … her pie dough was ALWAYS made with pure unsalted butter … never shortening. She was a treasure in my life.

Mine settled in Erie, PA as 18yo newlyweds in the late 1880’s … My great grandfather was an upholsterer who built buggy seats, then automobile upholstery. He invented several innovative methods for innerspring cushioning. Then, in 1919 they relocated to San Diego driving across the country in a model T … when the roads were crap (when they even existed) and the maps horribly incomplete. I have my grandmothers journal (daily diary) of the trip. It is absolutely fascinating. Our country was still a pretty wild place in 1919. The Indians were selling trinkets by the roadside … and not attacking the Model T. Horses and wagons were still the dominant means of transportation in 1919 … my great grandparents were “early adopters” … what with their shiny (actually always muddy) new Model T … hahahaha ha ha ha

My newlywed grandparents bought their home in San Diego in 1922. My grama was 21 that year. My aunt was born the following year in 23 and my mom in 25. Small world.
My grandmother was 18yo when they journeyed across the country in 1919, and her really beautiful, cool, older sister, Gladys was 21. She could have been could have been friends in San Diego. My great Aunt married VERY well and lived a life of luxury wherein she traveled the world. She was a very “open minded” conservative who didn’t mind if I grew my hair long. And Aunt Gladys always brought my brother and I interesting souvenirs from her world travels. She was a marvelous person.
And TBH … there was a real SWEET SPOT for my children when they were 4yo – 12yo … when they were just extra sweet, innocent, human beings. Not that the other ages were horrible (well … there WERE times …) … but the elementary school childhood was just sooooooo perfect and beautiful.
Which is why I get enraged by what EVIL is being done in our children’s elementary schools.
Four was the most precious age I think. It was for each of mine….before the education system got its hands on them. The last year of innocence.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Federal prosecutors overseeing the case against Hunter Biden are moving to eliminate a charge against him for allegedly lying about his hardcore drug use when he purchased a firearm and lied on application forms.
Lawyers with the office of U.S. Delaware Attorney David Weiss took a procedural step Wednesday to reduce one count against Hunter that would have seen him plead guilty to possessing a firearm as a drug user, something he lied about when purchasing a handgun in 2018. Hunter wrote in his memoir that he was a heavy user of crack cocaine at the time, an admission that prosecutors used against him in the case.
Instead, Hunter will face a three-count indictment on wrongful gun possession and lying on official application forms. Charges involving filing false tax returns are still pending.
The fix is DEFINITELY in!
Let anyone else lie about that on a 4473 and see what happens.
People are currently in jail for it.
The Special Counsel seems to be going out of his way to make this go away for Hunter.

I walked my little 8 lb. rescue dog to the rectory lawn yesterday for a blessing. We were there along with about two dozen other villagers and their loving pets.
People often ask me, “When did you rescue your dog?” I answer, “She rescued me two years ago.”

I have a British friend who takes sabbatical to Assisi where he goes every year as solace for the abuse he suffered when he was small at the hands of a priest. That trip in search of peace is his lifeline.

Then there are the idioms the guy who spent his formative years elsewhere changed for us and then the ignorant (literally — ha) corporate media and others copied immediately….changing the meaningful “line in the sand” (“Don’t you step over it,” said Yosemite Sam, and Bugs did, right away) to the meaningless “red line”…and .changing the scary and heritage-driven “throw her to the wolves” (full of fairy-tale and European heritage images) to the dumb “throw her under the bus” (not quite like being torn apart by a pack of howling wolves and also losing the matching idea of being bold enough to “run with the wolves”)… and his “acted stupidly” (would we say “acted happily?” We don’t add “ly” to state-of-being adverbs, but now everyone does, ’cause ...could BO be wrong??)
Shall we discuss the stupid use of “literally” everywhere? (Love ya, Pags, but lookin’ at you.) The other day I read in a comment section, “I’m literally laughing my face off.” (Sounds painful.) Damn. Then there’s “I mean,” often paired with other fillers, as in “Look, you know, I mean…” before they’ve even said anything.
But now….heard Cor-ringe say it was “top of mind” in a presser and everyone laughed about it for about a week and now…I go to websites and see headlines using…yes…NO….”top of mind”….so now Cor-ringe is manipulating our language, too?
There are so many other examples…she says “I’m not going to speak to that,” when what she means is “I’m not going to speak about that,” since you can’t speak TO a subject, and now that’s joining the lingo, as well. The left — when they’re not even trying –– is destroying our language.
And shall we talk about “Imma” replacing “I am going to” — or the atrocious misspellings — on purpose — even the word “the” is often now — not just spelled “da”– Oh, no, now it’s “thaa” — (heh– Gaetz just said “going forward” on the Pags show.)
Okay, rant over for the day. Just figured since this was the open thread, it would be the place to let off a little steam (wait–do we still use that idiom ? Heard Cor-ringe say “shoot from the shoulder” when she meant “from the hip” the other day, so maybe now we say “let off a little rain” or something…who knows?”) (Then there’s Pelosi’s “You can’t yell ‘wolf” in a crowded theater.” And who knows what all these “asylum seekers” — ha — will do to our cultural touchstones?)
