When I choose guitar videos I’m often presented with a musical delimma—the Siccass site often showcases new virtuosos, ususally 20 something very talented playwes who have obviously only newly arrived. I’m sometimes conflicted because I so enjoy finding enjoyable individual performances to present. I’ve decided that there is plenty of room for this . . . but there is also room for us to enjoy debut concerts from newly arrived virtuosos. Zoe is one of these very talented individuals. 10/3/2023 – Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God
1 Kings 5:3-5 “You know how that David my father could not build a house to the Name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. And, behold, I purpose to build a house to the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your room, he shall build a house to My Name.”
At the present the Lord Jesus cannot build the house to His Father’s Name, as it has been in His heart, because of the wars on every side around Him, until God puts them all His under the soles of His feet. Meanwhile the labor and materials we are providing, now in this time of adversary and evil occurrence and war; shall go into the building of the house and the kingdom when Christ returns, when He sits upon the throne of His glory.
1 Chronicles 29:2-3 “Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for [things to be made] of gold, and the silver for of silver, and the brass for of brass, the iron for of iron, and wood for of wood; onyx stones, and to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of my own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house.”
How did David have this in his heart? This is how I want to be with the Lord. Just before he said this, in the chapter before, David gave to his son Solomon the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, of all the details of the building of the house, and all the courses of the priests and Levites, and of all the instruments of service, and every weight of all the materials to be used.
“All this, [said David,] the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.” (1 Chronicles 28:19-20)
This is precisely how the Lord will take account with His servants, with each and every one of us, when He returns. And by that accounting will He appoint to each of us what our work shall be in His kingdom.
How we do with the Lord’s property, and how we attend to His affairs, now in this time; with what measure we love, and do with all our might, and set our affection to the house of our God; “to him that has, the more shall he be given; and he shall be in abundance.”
In Matthew 25:14-30, before the Lord sits down to judge all the nations, He will take account with His servants, to whom He delivered His property, to know what each one of us has to show for it. Whether we were given little or much, according to our several ability; the results will be measured by how much we loved, and were diligent in our Lord’s business. There will be no comparing to each other, no envying and discussing who is the greatest: but whoever did and taught with all his might, with all his affection for Jesus and His people; the same shall be great in the kingdom of God to come.
God has made each and every one of us according to His own pleasure. Whether we are small or great, weak or strong, simple or brilliant; the Lord will say if we did well, and were faithful, according to what we had, and not according to what we had not. God made David so, that he could provide as he did, with all his might and his affection set on the house of his God. If we are not like David in his abilities; yet we can love like David, and have the same perfect heart with God as he did, in the body that God has given us.
Those who are faithful and do well, according to their ability; the great responsibilities and work in the kingdom shall be given. But to the slothful and cowardly, who hid their Lord’s money, and were inclined to hold slanders and evil thoughts against their Lord; these shall be given also according to their wicked and worthless ways: and the end can only be to be cast out into outer darkness and weeping and gnashing of teeth; useless to God and man, fit only to be sent to eternity as forgotten past.
The treasures we lay up in store now, are the materials and wealth which shall be used for the building of God’s house in the coming kingdom. It is through this time of wars on every side around Jesus, that we provide with all our might for the time to come. We set our affections on things above; and not on the earth; for this is not yet our home and desired haven.
There will be very much work to do when Jesus returns, to build up and enrich the nations, and repair the desolations of many generations. The people will need to be taught and governed by well trained and wise teachers and leaders, in the things of God. And there will need to be righteous judges and experienced overseers of the people; men of truth, who fear God above all, and hate covetousness; and can have compassion and wise discretion with all people; and love them as their own souls.
David was no lazy slouch, living in the fantasy of the contemplative Christian. He worked harder than many others of his generation, to be perfect with the LORD all his days; and to lay up his treasure with God, and the things of God to come. Solomon also; even while he was given rather times of peace and prosperity; did also with all his heart apply himself to the charge of God, and of David his father. All these things were done for signs and instruction unto us, who are now at the very threshold, and the Lord’s finger on the curtain, ready to walk through.

Usually when your dog sees you eating a hot dog, the look says where is mine.
But that look is more like ‘don’t you dare try and feed me more pills stuck in hot dogs’.
BTW once had a dog that would eat every part of the dog that didn’t have a pill in it and leave the rest.
Sometimes you just have to stick the pill in its mouth, manually close its mouth before the pill comes out, and stroke its throat while keeping its mouth closed to help it swallow.
Lol, Mr. Jim, I have a weenie who can do that with pills hidden in peanut butter and a golden doodle granddog who knows when there is a pill in his and won’t take it at all. Slick pups for sure. I try to get meds in liquid form then there isn’t any argument.
My solution to giving dogs pills is to cover them in canned cheese. The pills go down very easy.

I just noticed after playing this again – this is truly a duo. Gert’s wife is pregnant and moves around him, even using her arm across his back so she can be sure not to bump him.
When I was a small child, my mom would practice on the church pipe organ while I would crawl around at her feet. She was more than likely pregnant then as I have 7 siblings, me being the second.
Even high quality sound systems cannot capture any performance, let alone a pipe organ. Oh! to have been in that audience or even outside that church with Gert playing that day.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Our Declaration, Constitution, and the Oaths of nearly every office (at least used to) include a pledge of humility and dedication to serve God as well as this country — and the linkage to the will of God and the country intended by the Founders is undeniable.
Today I will assume good in people, remember they are his creation, trust no one fully, and stay grounded in Him. Though hell is rioting around me, I will continue to choose not to be anxious, not to fear, to count my blessings, mercy, and grace in the God of the universe.
Though there are reasons for fear, anxiety, doubt, shame, and guilt. By knowledge and Faith, there are even stronger reasons for me to be confident. To be a light in the darkness. A city on a hill. An ear, eyes, mouth, hands, action of the Lord.
Thank you Sundance and wolverines for this space. Thank you Treepers for your reflection of our Creator. Thank you Lord for being present in our imperfect vessels and travelling along in our feet of clay.
Through the grace of God I will leave a trail of fruits of His spirit. But not without you, O Lord.

Very cool Booger. AMC had some duds but they also had some studs. They never should have been bought out. the American for Motor Corporation was iconic and our brand with its name on it. In a way AMC reminds me of the incredibly great movie “Tucker: the Man And His Dream” going against the big corporations.
I couldn’t afford a proper muscle car so my first car was a beat to hell ’68 Javelin with a 290/automatic with a maybe I will, maybe I won’t reverse gear that I got for $350. 😅

Anyone looking for a book to read I highly suggest this one. It’s about the 6 nation Iroquis, and General Sullivan’s campaign against them during the Revolutionary War. It’s history in a novel form. His best of the Narratives of America series imo, though his other books about the wars in the Old Northwest & Tecumseh are also favorites. I should reread this after I finish my current book about Alexander Ramsay & the second Scottish War for Independence

I would highly recommend Allan Eckert’s “The Great Auk” which I read in 6th grade and greatly influenced me to go to college for Wildlife Biology/Environmental science. I took a extinct & threatened life class in college because I was so saddened and enamored with the Great Auk/Passenger Pigeon/Carolina Parakeet/Eskimo Curlew/Labrador Duck/Heath Hen/Bachman’s Warbler etc birds that went extinct here in North America though the Curlew could still be surviving. The Ivory-Billed I believe has been refound though there is controversy about it. (I say yes because its non-migratory & solitary and there is still enough appropriate habitat)

They are favorites of mine. Make sure to tell us about your migrant birds coming through. I’ve always loved farms and farm country. One side of my family were farmers from Pennsylvania. Early Americans from the Scots-Irish who were the first large immigration wave here as they were fleeing because of persecution from the Church of England
Only one large raptor spotted thus far, our Ospreys raised their pair and taught them to fly and haven’t observed for a couple weeks.. Mockingbirds are singing again but some of them are here almost year round.
Bluebird numbers decreasing but still a few around. A bit early for the hawk migration. Lots of owls at night. A pair of great horned owls called through the wee hours a few nights back. The screech and barn owls are occasionally heard.
Almost all fawns have lost their spots. Ground hogs are rolly poly and ready to hibernate soon. Squirrels everywhere gathering for the winter, they’ve almost finished with the hickory trees and will mover on to acorns and walnuts soon.

I think ours left on Sunday. Didn’t see our Itty-bitty yesterday and so far today. I’ll leave the feeders up for a few weeks for any travelers passing through. They bring such joy every year. Gonna miss them.
A Downey woodpecker kept coming around and pecking up n down a crabapple tree that tries to die, but keeps living.
It found a desirable spot and comes each day making a hole in a dead branch.

I have not seen a Crabapple tree where I now live. There was one across the street from me growing up at the Bus stop.
Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers love to do that as well. I wish I had a few of those trees around just to watch the woodpeckers do that Patience.

Crabapples are really messy; both the fruit and bird droppings, but the canopy, shape, size and the spring flowers are quite lovely.
This one has been such an attraction to hummingbirds during its flowering, and to cardinals and other birds; not to mention chipmunks and squirrels.
-And now, the woodpecker!
A few weeks ago saw a red tailed hawk! It sat perched and then darted; side-slammed the fence, but Henry, the chipmunk got away. 😎.

The threads are making my head hurt. I find myself waking to see what absolutely craptastic aberration is going to rear its ugly head today.
In the Spirit of our most noble OT, some lightness to humor the weary.
Last night, I was drinking a lemonade out of a to go cup from City Barbecue. Haribo, Harry, Harold, Harry Houdini – the Maine Coon – hopped up in my lap and proceeded to start chewing the straw of my cup rather enthusiastically. It was empy and I didn’t care.
We sat there together for a bit, before I shoo’d him down and headed to the kitchen.
I have been making a concerted effort to drink more water. So when I have a to go cup, I will often refill it several times with water and I consume more water when using a straw. So, I dutifully filled my cup with filtered water… and proceeded to drink it.
And drink it.
And drink it.
3/4 of the way through the cup of water – I, in my tired and weary state, remembered that Harry had been chewing emphatically on my straw!!!!
Plah plah pooey!!!!
Kiddo laughed and laughed. And Harry pays no mind because he loves me and doesn’t mind sharing his straws with me.
