‎9/‎25/‎2023 – You shall open your hand wide to your brother, your poor and your needy, in your land

Deuteronomy 15:7-11 “If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother: but you shall open your hand wide to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants. Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry to the LORD against you, and it be sin unto you. You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.”

God made the good and the wealth of the world, for all to enjoy and benefit from. There is more than enough land, and riches, and abundance of all things; that no one should be without a home, and a piece of land, of food and clothing and the practical help of his neighbor, if he needs it. The fact that there are as many different kinds of people in the world, with everyone having strengths and weaknesses, it is incumbent upon us to have compassion and understanding, and be our brother’s keeper. And this is not directed solely to the “religious” but to EVERYONE. If someone doesn’t care, or think it doesn’t apply to him; he is wrong: all of God’s commandment are for all people everywhere, to love one another as He has loved us.

When Jesus was teaching in Luke 16, about being good stewards of what God has entrusted us with, and how we cannot serve God and mammon; it says that, “the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided Him;” and so Jesus said to them, “You are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” (Luke 16:14-15) He then continues on that point, telling them about the rich man and Lazarus; that it was precisely for that reason, that the rich man lived entirely for himself, and utterly neglected his poor brother wasting away in hunger and poverty at his own gate; that when he died, he woke up in hell.

As a comparison alongside, and an example of how we should care for one another; one of the first and most notable effects upon the believers beginning the day of Pentecost; was how they truly loved and cared for one another. It says that the whole company of believers were of one heart and one soul, and that no one who possessed anything, called it his own; but they had all things common. Whoever had anything, they brought it to the apostles, and distribution was made, according as anyone had need. This came out of their own voluntary free will; whether they had much or little, the Holy Spirit moved upon their hearts, and they responded, by the most practical form of love; making sure everyone had enough, and no one lacked.

It is important for us to understand, that in the day of judgment, when the entire human race from all time is brought before the great white throne of Christ; when the books are opened, everyone’s eternal judgment will be according to their works, whether good, or bad. In Matthew 25:31-46, there is nothing mentioned about if anyone professed to be a Christian; but that everyone will be judged according to how they treated one another, in the practical basic necessities of life. And just to put a point on it; this country which touts itself to be Christian, and a city on a hill shining for an example to the whole world; it doesn’t really match the Lord’s description of love for one another, nor of hearts that fear God and keep His commandments. All you have to do is look around: what do the people look like? What are their living conditions? What do they occupy themselves with, and with what do they find pleasure? Are they the things of Jesus Christ? Or the things of themselves, and their own comforts and pleasures?

So then, putting this in the context of the law; regardless of whether someone scoffs at it, or think its impossible, because “that’s just the way the world is;” that is exactly why God blesses people with wealth and prosperity; to help those who are poor and in need. There is commonly a tendency in many, to look for a way of getting out of the heat of conviction, by “spiritualizing” everything, and turning it into a metaphor, and something in the abstract that doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable. But the commandment of God given through Moses, and the facts as told by Jesus, of how we shall all be judged for eternity; are not metaphors or abstract concepts; but real life human connection, that God made us His family to have between ourselves. Whatever our circumstances, if the grace and truth of Christ has been wrought in our hearts, it is our duty, and a matter of obedience, that we do these practical things for each other, in every way we have power to do it.

Luke 21:33-36 “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”

It is important to keep awake, and understand the times.

There are actually two potential threats on this map. The disturbance in the Gulf and TS Philippe out in the middle of the Atlantic.

Philippe is likely to weaken into a tropical wave but could continue to track west instead of recurving out in the Atlantic. And once it reaches the warm waters around Bermuda it could re-intensify. The very fact is weakens will be the reason it may continue west instead of turning north.

Meanwhile the models have been showing warmer than average temps for the central US for week one and then week to warmer than average temps for almost all of the eastern half of the country. But now it is looking like come week three cooler than average temperatures will dominate for the eastern 2/3 of the US while warmer than average temps hang out in the western 1/3 rd. By then we’re into potential frosts for my part of the country. Will post graphics when available.

It may have been challenging for the Jews who came to believe in Christ Jesus to accept the fact that the apostles as well as the apostle Paul claimed that the saving faith in Christ was expanding to include the Gentiles. How could that be? And yet, Paul convincingly reminded them that the Word given to their patriarchs and the prophets definitively stated that “the righteous shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17; Habakkuk 2:4). 

Paul’s benediction for the believers in Rome mentions neither Jew nor Gentile, but is meant for all who believe in the redemption made by Christ for the sins of all humankind (Romans 15:13). Pastor John MacArthur notes that “Jews can have no grudge against Gentiles, because their calling, their very purpose for existing, was to reach Gentiles for the glory of the Lord. The Gentiles can have no grudge against the Jews, because it was through the Jews that God brought them salvation.” 

The Lamb’s Book of Life has written in it the names of people from every tribe and people and language and nation (Revelation 13:8, 20:12). As a believer, the God of hope gives you peace that only He can give – a peace towards God and people alike that should fill you with an exuberant joy. 

Though they may not know it, most people in this nation yearn for the peace and joy that only the God of hope can offer. Pray now that your joy may be evident, that governing officials in this nation will accept Christ as their Savior, and that the Holy Spirit’s power may abound in you.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Before I met Jesus I had no problem with tattoos, my mom and dad had none but my brother and sister had them. I will say my sister got the proverbial “tramp stamp” on her lower back which was fitting considering her promiscuous ways. That one was discovered after my conversion and repulsed me. They all do now.
Now I find them disgusting and every day they become more offensive to me. It’s involuntary, my dislike.
I also have a hate for porn, the destruction of women and the diminishing of sex. I personally know hundreds of men and women destroyed by porn. Demons use it to plow the fields in a persons mind. Gods says “run”. We men cannot battle sexual temptation.

I realized today that tattoos and porn are hand in hand. Both are in pagans worship and are parallel in nature. “I just have a little inconspicuous tattoo”, why at all. It tells the world “I agree, I’m kinda ‘bad’ but not too ‘bad’.
And the scripture tattoos? Is that in you, the scripture? Because if you bothered to read the book you would see it’s pagan, doesn’t belong on a believer. You are Gods temple, graffiti doesn’t fit.

When I first was converted I could not even look on most billboards on the roads, it was so offensive to my spirit. I do not know how we are supposed to live in this world. I understand it’s not home but what people don’t understand is, every offensive image is used by the demonic to bring us down.
