Now I’m having a similar problem.
Been trying to teach Buckley not to be aggressive when eating his food. He got me good this morning on my left hand. I mean really bit it. Head shake and all. Got three puncher marks. Immediately washed and put triple antibiotic on the wounds. No need for stitches. But it is damned sore. Watching to make sure a case of cellulitis does not result.
Time for professional help. I know the kid is smart and should be trainable. I will not have a dog that bites. So time for help.
Good afternoon Rah. Get some Manuka honey to apply to the punctures and keep them covered. First Honey Ointment is available at Walmart. It’s just sticky honey in a tube but man it works and doesn’t cause the inflammation of a triple antibiotic.
I use it all the time on cuts and for awhile on the bites from my my daughter’s puppy who though I was her personal chew toy. Once even on a mouse bite.
I hope and pray the pro help for Buckley works quickly. He sounds like a nice dog.
He’s a loving and lovely dog and sticks to me like glue. We just have some rough spots to work on. He was obviously crated his entire life before we got him and never socialized or house broken. I swear he stands like a show dog when he is outside. Gorgeous pup. I am confident he can be trained but know now I am going to have to get some help to do it.

I’m sorry for your hand. No breaks or tears? It is so frustrating how such a small body part can have such a big effect.
Last week, making my bed, I did the dumb thing of nailing my pinkie and fourth toe on the steel leg of the bed. Ooooouuuuuch. Hate that thing! Could turn a person to remove the rails and just leave the box spring and mattress on the floor, but then I take hideaway habitat from the kitties. Thought I broke my dang foot, but no… it was just a reminder of my mortality and how much I depend on that small toe for balance.
Small toes, pinkies, wrists, hands, an ear, a nose… small reminders of how important the small parts are for the overall body.
And that is you, my friend… a small but formidable member that plays a big part in the overall body. A part, that when missing, feels a bit out of balance.
We notice when someone is missing, but I have a feeling that real life is calling and can’t be ignored. Sure… it is nice to find a place of respite and humor… but sometimes it’s really hard to laugh during times of intensity and seriousness.
I pray blessings on those who are actively in the war and our children, generations to come, who will live the price paid for our courage or timidity.
May God have mercy on us all and make our God-given purpose clear.

So happy to “see” you this morning. We just finished up breakfast – posted here the recipe for an easy meal that helps use up leftover pears that are aging – or for a quick and impressive breakfast for families or visitors. It can be “dressed up” quite nicely. I didn’t mention it earlier, but one can also use blackberries, blueberries, or peaches.
I am grateful 1 Corinthians 12 was brought to your mind. It was on my mind when I wrote that.
We have a few errands to run including a quick trip to my Carmel office to do a spot of work. Small errands to pick up a few incidentals for the week, and some to fortify for winter, then kidzo wants to go to the gym for that Sh’Bam dance class this evening. We hope that there will be no one there, and it will just be us two clutzos, as it was last week. Nothing like trying to dance hip hop with a bunch of strangers.
I don’t own a pair of Crocs, but could see them useful. I do have a pair of CAT steel-toed boots, though, except I would probably kick and knock out a cat by accident. So, that’s not a good idea either.
😂 I think that the best pear I’ve ever had was at a little bistro in Paris. The thing had the core dug out and covered inside and out with caramel and baked.

No, no brokens toez, thank God. Having had a level 3 sprain in my right foot that had to be surgically reattached, I am trained in the respect of the tell tale bruising and bluing of a bashed up member. Thankfully, none of those. (But the day is still young – did you see my note to GrandpaM about the Sh’Bam class? I’m sure I could break a few things there.)
The 70 and 84 year old women were not in water aerobics yesterday and the gal leading it had just had surgery and had limited mobility – so no one tried to drown me yesterday. Phew.

Heee heeee – we have the noodles and the floatie dumb bell thing-a-ma-jigs. It was those floaties carefully placed under my arm pits to do their version of “water ballet” that almost did me in. I am no swan and this was no Swan Lake. LOL
So, what’s the first thing I do with the noodle? Blow water out of it to squirt Savannah with. Bwah ha ha… We ride pool noodles like bicycles, and play stir the pot, and hoola hoop with them. Good times!

Why is that big news?
Because that means the US government – not just the government, but specifically the DOJ that can’t seem to prosecute criminals and considers parents at school board meetings to be domestic terrorists – just admitted officially that elections are riggable with these machines and Smartmatic did it.
Smartmatic’s basic system is in the other two major voting machine software systems: Dominion and ES&S. Eric Coomer, the Dominion guy, used to be with Smartmatic.
As Patrick Byrne says, this is the most important breach in the opponents’ defenses since November 3, 2020.

The article says, “Trump allies repeatedly peddled the lie that the company manipulated the results in 2020, despite the fact that its machines were only used in one California county that year.” Yes…but its SYSTEM, the thing that rigged the election, is in machines all over the country!
Most of this information is not new; at least anyone who followed election integrity has known about the shared software since shortly after the 2020 election. What is new is that the DOJ has acknowledged it! In all this time, very little of the evidence has ever been allowed to be presented in court – judges kept dismissing cases before they could get that far. We knew about the fraud, we could prove it, but we couldn’t get anything into court to be allowed to prove it. So there was all kinds of wrongdoing but nobody was being held accountable for anything. Now the DOJ – the ones whose job is to hold people accountable – acknowledge the crime.
Byrne warns them, we have everything we need to prove it all in court. The intellectual fight is over. These guys are done. Their empire is collapsing. (He has also said something even bigger is going to come out within the next two months or so.)
So…pass this on to anyone who is working for the government in any way, but especially at DOJ and the military, if you keep abetting the criminals at the top, you’re out of your mind. As of September 24, 2023, ignorance is no longer any excuse; you will be held accountable. Go to your internal affairs, legal staffs, etc. and ask how to make complaints that you have misgivings about what’s been going on. Flood the system with complaints. Shut down the system, and America will thank you.
Reports are that people in ICE and Border Patrol are starting to mutiny (telling senior officials, you can’t order me to do that, that’s against the Constitution!) and people in DOJ. Please pray for my 98 year old father who fell at his house where he lives with my 96 year old mother. He is going to have to not bear weight for 3 weeks and he has dementia. We don’t want him to suffer. He was fine 45 hours ago and could walk unassisted and/or with the help of a cane or walker. Please pray for the correct PT for him and placed in the proper rehab center with caring sitters. We love him so and don’t want him to suffer for no reason. When he fell, he caused a hairline fracture along the rod of his artificial hip.

In light of the High Priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and of how He has made the way for us into the Holiest of all by His own blood; through the sacrifice of His flesh; let us “Cast not away therefore our confidence, which has great recompense of reward.”
Having already been received, and forgiven of all things, and our hearts having been cleansed from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water; having been now begotten of God, New Creations in Christ, Born Again, Born from Above; let us “Cast not away therefore our confidence, which has great recompense of reward.”
The exhortation to cast not away our confidence, has for its first motive, that Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us; and He has saved us from our sins, and made us whole. Today I explained to yet another Aussie in my life what the second amendment is actually about. I have now explained it to so many people, I feel like I am single handedly providing “2A education” to Aussies. It’s just crazy how many didn’t know the truth.

A relative who lives in Israel received help from an organization there called “Yad Sarah” (Hand of Sarah) when she gave birth to her first child, far away from home and my ability to help out.
She was able to rent a first-class breast pump for the several months that they needed. Then she returned the equipment to Yad Sarah, where the pump was thoroughly cleaned and rented to someone else who had need for it.

The hospital where she gave birth has a “Baby Hotel”, where parents can stay down the hallway from the NICU and recover from the birth.
This “baby hotel” is a good thing. My own mother nearly hemorrhaged to death a few days after I was born, and it would have helped her to be right down the hallway from emergency medical care. This also happened to another friend a couple of days after giving birth; she suddenly began to bleed out and in another era, she would have died from this.
Also, people may have babies with complications. It is nice to be just steps away from NICU in that case.

My youngest daughter is expecting my next grandchild in December. I pray all will go well.
So far so good, and she obtained a big box of beautiful newborn 0-3 months baby garments and gear from an online trading group, entire box for $20 and the owner almost forgot to ask for payment! she just wanted to declutter her nursery to make space for the larger sizes of her own growing youngest baby. Anyway I am so grateful that they have access to “Buy-Nothing” groups and other circles for the expensive but essential provisions that parents only need for a few weeks.
All of the clothes are so clean and beautiful, no stains. Would love to see Pro-Life organizations actively providing essentials to families at low cost.

The most life saving baby boxes which could be provided are the ones which some churches have placed within their buildings where unwanted newborns can be placed by those women who chose life instead of death. I wish more churches did this, or even pro-life organizations.
For whatever reason a mother makes a gut wrenching decision to give up that part of herself I can only imagine. But places like that if they were publicized widely might save one little child from the fate of too many.

Anyway the woman at the agency asked me the stupidest question: “you mean you haven’t worked for two years?” I was very irritated by this clueless character who had no idea how much work it takes to care well for an infant!
Yes, there are still people out there who believe that caring for small children is “not working” and that women try to “get out of work” by becoming pregnant and bearing children.
There were so many times during those years when I just wished someone would help me out! And I will never forget the times when I received much-needed help. Some parents are more fortunate than others. There is no “equity” in these things. But I try to see when other people need help also, and to come through for them the way some people did for me!

My local birding group on last weekend’s outing was surprised to find around 20 of these beauties in some fields a bit further north from me though it is at a farm and farm area that I know very well. This farmer floods his cornfields to attract waterfowl and he gets a interesting assortment since waterfowl are on the uncommon/rare side here. Waterfowl are favorites of mine.

Big houses have nerves appealed to me, Colkitto. I look at some of the multi million dollar homes and on occasion scroll through the photos of their interiors. Why? What for??
I am not making this up. Just looking at the cavernous modern sparsely furnished rooms fills me with anxiety.
Give me a small house anytime. One that feels like a home and not a structure. I’ve always imagined my fantasy house but never did I foresee myself living in it.
I was fortunate. My fantasy house was realized.
Ours was called Plas y Glyn, or “Manor in the Valley”. It looked impressive. Yet is was not quite 1400 square feet. Suited me and I was happy there….
I agree, I do love lots of property so I can do my Tasha Tudor like things. Would love to have a farm like property, with ponds, gardens, with enough left over to do some wildflower meadows and create bird habit with the proper trees/shrubs/flowers/grasses etc Your beautiful house was your “Corgi Cottage”. So you had a stay at Avalon, I still search for mine.
So timeless and gives a feeling of inner peace. Gardens are so important. Imagine that humble house on a paved road with traffic roaring past and not much space between neighbors.

PEAR PANCAKE – preheat oven to 400 degrees – takes about 35 minutes total
2/3 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup Greek Yogurt (I like the Vanilla Honey by Greek Gods brand – but have also used Strawberry)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 drained 15 oz cans sliced pears in light syrup – or 5 or 6 medium sized fresh, ripened pears, sliced
In a glass casserole, or pie plate, place the pears 2 tablespoons of the butter and the lemon juice and mix them together. Place the pears in a 400 degree oven for about 8 minutes.
Combine all the dry ingredients and whisk those. Then add your eggs, yogurt, and balance of butter and blend well. Take the pears out of the oven and pour the batter over the pears. Return to the 400 degree oven and cook for 25 minutes or until a butter knife inserted comes out clean.
This is delicious served hot – or cold the next day.
We had ours with Knockwurst and Horseradish Spicy Mustard and hashbrown potatoes.
Incidentally, Idaho Spuds brand has hashbrown potatoes in a 4.2 oz milk carton style box. They are dehydrated. You just fill the box with boiling hot water and let it sit for 12 minutes. Pour the contents of the rehydrated potatoes into a large pan with a bit of oil, spices, diced onions and hothouse peppers (if you like), and fry for 6 minutes over medium high heat, stirring every 2 minutes. These potatoes are shelf stable and you can keep them a couple of years in the pantry. Each box serves 7. You can find these affordably at Costco.
The Knockwurst came from Aldi’s and I can’t speak highly enough of Aldi’s sausage offerings. We usually keep a couple packs and the hashbrown potatoes on hand for camping.
Aldi’s gourmet cheeses are also amazing especially this time of the year when charcuterie boards are popular. We didn’t have cheese with our breakfast – but if you’re going to Aldi’s – scope these out, too. Their 1,000 day old aged Smoked Gouda is terrific!
We eat like Kings very, very affordably!

Clean, bright, well stocked with items I can’t find anywhere else. I love what they offer at Christmas. European sourced delicacies and sweets.

Health Tip. by Dr Mandell
I came across this video about Vitamin D3 and I thought, I know all about taking Vitamin D with Zinc, to fight viruses Covid etc. and to keep the immune system healthy, but I stayed on to listen if that was all he was going to say, and it wasn’t. Apparently Vit D3 cannot to all its work in the body, and it does a lot of things, unless it has a good supply of Magnesium. I did not know that.
Dr. Mandell thinks we do not get enough Magnesium, and tells us how to get more in our diet.
I have been taking a Magnesium supplement(Bis-Glycinate type) as I often do not sleep well, but it was much less Magnesium than Dr. Mandell thinks we should take,(not just for sleeping,) but as a regular supplement and to enable Vitamin D3 to do its job. It is a very informative and concise video so I thought I would pass it on.
Vitamin D is good for you but too much can literally kill you. Vitamin D does not flush from you system like Vitamin C. Excess is stored in your body. Too much can also cause irregular heart beat, loss of weight and appetite. It can also permanently harm your kidneys. Be sure to have your Vitamin D levels checked regularly if you are taking more than 2,000 IU per day.
Thanks Patty, yes, I know that oil based vitamins are stored in the liver where are others are as you say flushed away. I have had no negative reactions to the amounts of vitamins I take. I am careful. Thanks for your concern.
When I have a serious chocolate craving, I always say it’s because my body wants magnesium. And sure enough, if I take a magnesium supplement instead of the chocolate, the craving will go.
Before this discovery, I used to be obsessed with chocolate. Now I just enjoy it like a normal person.
LOL, I love chocolate to, Rach, I know that feeling, however I try not to eat too much as the sugar is a problem I have type 2 but take no meds. I control it by watching the carbs. I still have carbs, I am human, ha ha, but I am a little more restrictive on myself than I used to be. However my blood sugar readings are usually excellent. I also try to eat dark chocolate as it is better for you. I never knew about the connection between ‘needing Magnesium,’ and ‘chocolate’, and it certainly seems like there is one, after hearing about your experience.. What a wonderful opportunity to indulge and blame it one your magnesium deficiency days. You can actually get away with saying ‘it’s only for my health.’ haha.
That reminds me a hilarious episode of Jeeves and Wooster I saw, where a young aristocratic woman is telling everyone she has become a vegetarian and insists on her new boy friend abstains from meat, he is reluctant but does it just for her, ( and he actually loves meat pies.) Then, when they are guests at a dinner, he notices she is eating copious amounts of roast beef. He says, naturally, how can you do that if you are a vegetarian, and I am not allowed to eat meat? She tells him ‘she has to force it down’, and that ‘she is eating it just for her health’ and eating it was to her, ‘torcha.’
I go through periods where I am a bit more diligent about my food choices. But I am not at the moment. I’ve definitely increased my chocolate over September, and other junk.
I expect diabetes to come, but thankfully it hasn’t yet. You’re correct to try to control it with lifestyle changes rather than drugs, too.
Meat on the other hand, I don’t apologise for and I don’t regret. I think it’s great for health and taste.

When I get chocolate cravings, it’s not like when I want other foods. It’s really full on.
I would like to take magnesium supplements more regularly, but the supplements send me to the bathroom. Once in a while I will open up the capsule and discard half the powder, and take that half volume capsule as a sort of compromise 🤷♀️

Bill Gates thinks he’s an expert on everything. During Covid he thought he was a virologist and immunologist. Now he thinks he knows physical sciences and is a biologist. This despite the fact that he obviously does not understand photosynthesis.

The US has about 229 billion trees that convert about 11.4 trillion pounds of CO2. The carbon goes into the tree and the oxygen back into the atmosphere.
He is abysmally ignorant, but likes to pretend he is, as you say an expert on everything. I knew more about carbon dioxide and oxygen exchange and photosynthesis when I was in elementary school, and that is a fact.
I was in a small school, private, when I was about 7 0r 8 max, when we pinned/pasted cut out shapes on the various types leaves in the garden of the school which had lawns and trees in its grounds. That was to learn about photosynthesis.
We also learned about the different types of clouds and their formations and what they told us. I remember one day our teacher saying, ‘come outside children I want you to see this massive cumulonimbus, and we all went out to see it and were quite excited. We went back in rapidly 🙂

My Dear American friends, Today is Yom Kipur’s Eve. The following is a very unique video that even I didn’t know until today. An American biblical aspect to the Yom Kipur war that I am sure you never heard of. Fascinating indeed. First I want to share some personal view of what happened. Yom Kipur is the holiest day in Judaism and most people are fasting for 24 hours and go to synagogues to pray. You don’t see cars on the roads and children use it to play and ride their bicycles. Most soldiers are permitted to go home and be with their families. A day of atonement. In 1973 I was a child and I was expecting to wake up into Yom Kipur morning. I expected a fun day (for a child), no school, all the kids can hang around when they are not with their parent in the synagogue. I will never forget this early morning. Loud sirens everywhere, I looked outside and it was a commotion of military vehicles and none military rushing to take soldiers and reserve people to the front lines. On the radio and TV there was mostly someone calling code names of military units and points where their soldiers must appear in order to be transported to the front lines. My father and so did most fathers around got dressed on military uniforms and rushed out to the war. He was a high officer in reserves and already fought four wars previously. The atmosphere was somber. They tried to hide how bad it was but in a small nation like this (3 millions those days) you can’t hide much. We had to run to underground shelters in our building a few times and stay for hours. We had to put tape on the windows to prevent it from shattering from bombs. We had to turn off the lights at night so enemy Jets wouldn’t see. The Syrians surprised Israel from the north and Egyptians from the South. The few soldiers on the front lines were decimated by thousands and thousands of soldiers and bombs. Israel was about to lose the war and that means a Holocaust. This is not like Russians occupying Ukrainian land. This is a slaughter. From later reports I know that the Defense Minister and Prime minister were on the verge of pulling out the nuclear option. Later on I find out that a handful of heroes managed to hold thousands of Syrian tanks from rolling straight into Israeli cities. The south was also a disaster but there is a huge desert that the Egyptians had to pass in order to get to Israeli cities and there was some more time for the reserves to arrive and organize.
Israel also ran out of ammunition and Henry Kissinger who was the Secretary of State was withholding the necessary support.
After the war by every few buildings you could see the posters with the names of the deceased and the time of funerals. Everyone knows someone or a few who didn’t return. Eventually Israel won and Kissinger had to pressure Israel to save thousands of Egyptian soldiers who were surrounded in the Sini Desert after Israel did a brilliant move and came around them. Anyways don’t miss this video. It’s short and historic.

I have a friend in Australia who was also a child during the Yom Kippur war. She has told me the same stories about having the lights out at night, plus more.
Israel is so amazing with its military successes. I have heard so many brilliant and heroic stories. G-d is definitely with Israel in these cases, there is no other explanation.
