Hi, Treepers. Although it’ our #4, this is his 3rd lute suite, this is actually the last of the 4 suites we’ve been listening to. The misnumbering is my fault—I hadn’t intended to post all 4 of David’s lute suite performances, but in listening to his wonderful playing I thought whar a great Treeper experience it would be to have all 4 of his performances posted here.

Unfortunately, # 3 is our actual #4 . . . hope there isn’t further confusion. . . A further note: it looks like David is playing a particularly interesting guitar. Given the date I this his guitar is made by German luthier Matthias Dammann guitar. These commonly feature a “lattice-work” top featuring top wood (spruce or cedar) and carbon fiber. These guitars tend to have a brighter sound . . . as you will hear in David’s performance. Enjoy friends. 🙂

‎9/‎22/‎2023 – Dealing with stubborn and difficult people, and staying true to your message from God

John 8:31-47 “Jesus therefore said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you abide in My word, truly My disciples you are; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. They answered Him, We are Abraham’s seed, and to no one have been in bondage never; how say You, You shall become free? Getting easily agitated and upset by opposition and conflict, is something we have to overcome, if we are to be made vessels fit for the Master’s use; for working with stubborn and difficult people. And we have to be able to stay calm and not get angry or irritated, because, for example, someone disagrees, or doesn’t understand, or is already predisposed to just be against whatever you have to say, and to quarrel.

Jesus came into this world with a completely realistic understanding of what He was coming into. He had no dreamy illusions of being recognized and welcomed, and everyone seeing eye to eye; let alone understanding at all who He is and why He has come. Jesus came from above; and we who are in this world were from below. We were of this world; Jesus was not of this world. And the Spirit by which He did and taught among the people; He could expect would not be received by the many; but only by those whom the Father found and gave to Him. Nevertheless, the apparent impossibility of the world’s condition, was exactly the reason for His having to come into the world; and it was to this end that He came; to bear witness of the truth.

Now Jesus testified, and taught especially to His disciples, that “we” should not expect or suppose, that He had come to abolish the law or the prophets. He came not to abolish, but to completely make full. Did He then do this merely to appease, or to pacify, as if just to get us “off the hook”? Or was it not rather both; to satisfy the requirements of a Lamb without spot or blemish, holy and innocent, to make atonement for our sins, and so to be our Redeemer; and also, to leave us an example, that we should learn from Him, and follow in His steps? Clearly, that is the substance of the Announced Glad Tidings of Christ having come in the flesh, that the kingdom of God should be in us! 

Now this single afternoon’s events, recorded in the eighth chapter of John’s Gospel; these very difficult and contentious dealings with the Jews in the temple; have been written for our learning; and are vitally important on several levels. We can simplify the lessons by parts; which, though separate, are intrinsically connected. If we have the capacity to separate in our minds, and accurately discern; then we will be better able to hold up under the stress, when all these things collide, when bringing the Light of the Gospel, and the conviction of the Spirit, into direct confrontation with unsaved and unwilling men. For we are not absolved from our duties, because they are difficult, or unpleasant, or when people don’t believe and are hostile to what you say.

1. We have the Lord Jesus Christ, and His Spirit, and His Word; sent into the world by God, with the express mission of saving the world from sin and eternal damnation.

2. We have the contradicting and opposing forces of the devil, and his hold on the nature and minds of men; and seeking to kill the One sent from God to speak to the world, and to cause the truth to not be in the world at all.

3. And we have also, the inestimable divine patience and persistence of Jesus; who is willing and able to deal with the stubborn and difficult, hostile and unreceptive men; and stay focused and well tempered, until He has said all that He was sent to say.

To all these points, Jesus was “purpose driven” by the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of love, in His heart. He came to accomplish the law and the prophets, and to give us the example of how we should also be in this world. Jesus was the personification of the Spirit of the law and the prophets, in dealing with the very stubborn and difficult; to bring to them, and to teach them, things which they should have known because they had the Bible; but had become instead something completely foreign and in direct conflict with, all their way of thinking, and the form of their religion.

The things that Moses wrote, Jesus demonstrated with absolute perfect self possession. The Great Physician knew what he was getting into, and he went to His business, with understanding and skill, like no other; both for their sake to whom he was immediately dealing with; and for our sake as well, who should learn from Him; and have the same compassion and determination for the sake of those who need our words, and our Jesus. So we should be conscious of these things, as we study carefully this whole difficult and contentious interaction between Jesus and the Jews.

Leviticus 19:14-18 “You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling-block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the LORD. You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor; I am the LORD. You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall in any wise rebuke your neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.”

In short, what we should first of all learn from this; next to the Doctrine of the Lord; is how able Jesus is, and steadfast in His Spirit, to persevere through difficulty to persuade men; especially when they do so strongly resist and debate what He tells them. He exercises meekness and self control, and does not give in to anger and irritation; yet He does in no way shrink and cower and back down from His purpose, nor the authority of His words. The Lion of the tribe of Judah does not back down from any: there is no one more courageous or bold as the Righteous Savior! He withdraws when He has completed what he has been sent to do.

To the final point for now; there are two important aspects which we simply must understand, and so integrate into our spirits, if we hope to become those vessels “fit for the Master’s use.” 

First, is that Jesus never said or did anything out of a spirit of “one-ups-manship.” He did not react with any kind of “Aha, aha!” or, with “getting even” or “besting” His opponents. He knew Who He was, and Who had sent Him, and what was really the case with all those whom He encountered. He was in His Father’s hands always, and he always did those things that pleased Him. He was never intimidated or threatened by man; no matter how he huffed and puffed, or how violent he could become.

We need to understand everything with Jesus’ understanding; and have the firmness of faith, and faithfulness, worthy of Him who sent us. 

1 Peter 2:11-12 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; having your conversation (manner and course in life) honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

And with these things, we should also have it settled in our hearts, like David did; that we will not offer unto the LORD that which costs us nothing. If we consider Him, who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself; and that we have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin; bearing up under the stress and temptations of sometimes having to deal with difficult and stubborn people opposing us; should be counted part and parcel with belonging to Jesus, and having His Holy Spirit working through us to minister to others. We ourselves can honestly say, that the Lord has had to be very patient and self-controlled with us; so we should remember to have the same understanding for others, who probably aren’t as hard to deal with as we have been!

Never for me! Don’t want my truck smelling like a litterbox. I don’t care if you clean and deodorize the box every time you stop for a 10 hour break, it is going to stink in your truck.

Good morning all. Steve and Betty and I worked on the log cabin again yesterday. All door and window frames are up now. Front (west) door plus two windows on each side. Rear (East) door, no windows. One window on each end (North and South).

Spent some time debarking and sanding off logs. Use chisel and drawl knife and then come back with an 80 grit disk on a 4″ grinder. Cut a bunch more pieces to fit that we will use tomorrow. Considerable time was spent figuring out how to use the wood most efficiently. The pieces are not uniform in length and portions of some of them are not suitable for various reasons. Any wood showing insect damage goes into the burn pile. All wood used yesterday was pine. Walls are almost now to the height that all work will be done from the inside or using a ladder on the outside.

Leaves are starting to change on some of the maple trees.

I also bathed Geisha, met the water man to haul in the water bottles, scooped out the litter box and used deodorizer on it. watered Sherry’s flowers, and inside plants.

There is a toasted sub from Pizza King that I really like. Ham, Salami, and mozzarella cheese, run through the pizza oven, and then lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I figured out how to make my own smaller version complete with toasted bun. We don’t have a toaster oven or air fryer, and I don’t want to take the time or trouble to toast the bun on a skillet.

So using a Bratwurst bun, I open it and put it over the slots of the toaster. Once the bun is toasted I put the meat and cheese on and put it in the microwave, then when it comes out I finish it up as above. Easy and delicious! That, and a side of cottage cheese was dinner.

Here is the best video I could find about The Ark Of The Covenant. It was lost after the destruction of the first Temple in Jerusalem around the
7th BCE. It was most likely taken to safety because it was not mentioned by the Babylonians who destroyed the temple and detailed what they took.
Recent archeological findings show a large tunnel under the area of the temple. Large enough to be used to escape with the Ark. enjoy the video.

Midway changed the course of the Pacific war. IMO it was the first of two turning points during the war in the Pacific. It obliterated the mystique of Japanese invincibility and effected the planning and conduct for future operations. it made the second turning point possible. IMO the second turning point was the battle for Guadalcanal. It was that battle and the most sustained and intense naval surface actions in US Navy history that resulted in the US gaining the strategic initiative. ‘Bull” Halsey put it succinctly: Before Guadalcanal the enemy advanced at his pleasure – after Guadalcanal he retreated at ours!

But even after the battle the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) still had more aircraft carriers than the US Pacific fleet. They also had superior numbers in all other classes of warships from Battleships down to Destroyers.

They still retained plenty of combat aircraft, the losses at the battle having been made up by new production in all naval types well before the US invaded Guadalcanal.

Though they lost about 180 pilots in the battle, the IJN still had about 2,000 more “sea eagles” with most having over 600 hours of flight time and many being expert pilots with 1,000s of hours and combat experience as well. The typical American pilot that fought at Midway had between 150 and 300 hours of flight time. During the battle for Guadalcanal the typical American airman had about 300 hours of flight time under his belt.

The most serious loss in personnel for the Japanese were in their skilled aircraft maintenance personnel. They were primarily located on the hanger deck and that is also where the ready munitions were located. Very few if those personnel from any of the four Aircraft carriers survived the battle.
The loss of those men would come back to haunt the IJN during the extended battles in the Solomons and New Guinea.

The Yorktown was the first ship of the Yorktown class. The Enterprise was the 2nd ship of that class.
The damage Yorktown sustained and that later the Enterprise sustained make it clear they were very tough ships. The Enterprise survived the war becoming the most decorated ship in US Navy history.

The IJN covered up their losses. When the fleet returned to Japan after Midway, the injured were taken to hospitals and isolated. Sailors on shore leave were warned to keep their mouths shut! The Navy did not inform the Army of their losses there by causing an even greater disconnect in planning between the two branches than the considerable differences that already existed between the two services.

The Japanese claimed they had sunk two US carriers when they had actually only sunk the Yorktown. Actually, when one includes the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Japanese claimed sinking Yorktown three times! First at the Coral Sea where the carrier was severely damaged and then quickly repaired enough to be used at Midway, even though civilian workmen still were working on her as she headed for battle and the fact that there were wooden plugs driven into the shrapnel holes in one of her fuel tanks to make stop leakage and other such temporary repairs to the ships vitals. The “sea eagles” reported her sunk by aircraft bombs and then she was actually sunk by IJN submarine I-168. Also sunk instantly was the Destroyer USS Hamman which was along side the Yorktown and went down in two pieces. They do not show any part of the Hamman in this video.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.    – Romans 12:15

You would think that it would be easy to rejoice with someone who was blessed by a favorable circumstance or had attained something great. But what if it came at your expense? What if you thought you should have had that promotion or that special gift? Rather than rejoicing with them, perhaps you felt envious or resentful.

The apostle Paul encourages you, as a believer, to give yourself totally to God, allowing Him to transform you into one who can “discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:1-2). The character change includes a selflessness that understands that God works for the good of His people and for His glory. The selfish indifference to the joys of others goes away. Instead, their joy becomes your own. 

The same is true of others’ sorrows and grief. The follower of Christ should have genuine compassion for the calamities of others and their situations, expressing sympathy and comfort in word and deed. The best example of compassion is Jesus Christ. Why did He come to Earth as a servant and become obedient unto death? Because He had compassion for those suffering under the consequences of sin. He endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him which included that He would bring many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:10). 

As you pray today, ready your heart to “rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.” Pastor John MacArthur would add that Jeremiah grieved for sinful Israel (Jeremiah 9:1-3), and Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41). Grieve also for those in this nation who should weep but do not.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

It is clear that Joe Bastardi thinks this storm will be more violent than the NHC does and will become a hurricane. He says:

Storm surge stronger further north
The European model shows it will have gusts of 100 mph or more as it approaches shore. Does not matter if the NHC calls it a hurricane or not, this looks to be a bad storm that will effect millions of people. Figure on lots of power outages and trees down.

Because of a convergence zone with a front to the north this storm will strengthen quickly and not lose strength quickly and will move slowly.

God talks about thievery and its consequences, thieves reap what they sow and a curse with it. A thief is anyone who steals something that isn’t their own.
Holy angel’s will not take any credit or worship ( also a tell when dealing with the demonic, they love the spot light) they turn it all towards God why? Well it’s not their own to take and in doing so diminishes them.
People who steal from others can do so in many ways and this is the part that is so grievous, it never has to be that way.
When a person asks for help I see many, especially in our time, who jump to the occasion. What happens? Well number one the giver is blessed by giving and his basket is refilled by God.
Number two the receiver is blessed by the giver. And three, the receiver has opportunity to learn of this blessing. Like, how to fish in terms.
Stealing as a kleptomaniac is not out of need but a demonic entity that perpetuates the sin through our weakness. Stealing because you see someone has more and you believe falsely you deserve it is rampant in our society today and brings a curse. BY THE WAY it’s why democrats or liberals allow it, to destroy others. It is no good thing to allow thieving or let it go unpunished, for anyone.

When you steal something you will have something taken from you but, it is something dear to you. You may steal money and later reap the loss of love or well being.
Because you repent doesn’t let you off the hook. We see that with David and Bathsheba. It has its merit in the fact you re absolved in your intellect. God forgives immediately but we hold onto our sin, actually Satan does this, “accusing you before Gods thrown”. He brings it up over and over to bring separation between you and God. It is immediately done not some issue in the “by and by” God only sees his son in you, in faith we please him, another great thing to understand. Acting on faith means you trust in God, it pleases him to see that aaaaand it blesses you.
Gods word of “don’ts” and “do’s” is never about control but freedom. Mans laws are control, and administered out of weakness where as Gods laws are from strength to empower. It’s why in many cases observation of mans laws contradict Gods laws as we see today in many cases.
The constitution and bill of rights had that all in mind when written. It’s why the demonic want it gone. It holds Gods freedom for man.

No matter how hard they push these EVs , it will still depend on the potential customers thinking to themselves before they drive away in one: will there be enough convenient places to recharge? what will the recharge cost? how long will it take?and how can I afford the replace the very expensive battery, when the time comes?

( I think I will keep my gas-powered vehicle.)
