Odds and Ends

I fear those Bible churches are not found. We have been looking here a long while.
COVID revealed much, didn’t it? Politics… and not of the wholesome kind. Matter of fact, I think the word “politics” has morphed into another distorted word with “politician” translated to “grifter”, “thief”, “liar”, and “devil worshipper”.
“Politic” used to mean “seeming sensible and judicious under the circumstances” as an adjective. I guess the posers haven’t gotten around to updating that definition yet… the way they modified “vaccination”, “vaccine”, “representative”, “governed”, or “help”.
It’s another sleepless night. Kiddo fell a little ill earlier today. Didn’t look good. Deep purple under her eyes. She went to bed around 7:30 PM. She got up at 2:30 PM and I did too upon hearing her. I don’t sleep much now anyway. Funny how a teen can sleep in on a weekend, but during a weekday can’t force themselves back to sleep.
The kids in these schools know when something is just not right. I asked her yesterday and none of them can talk about it amongst themselves, due to who they’re surrounded by. There’s just a deep understanding among them.
I had a rough day. Surrounded by a hustler who talks a good game and then reneges on his word and mine, which makes me appear a liar with relationships I really work hard to attain and maintain. Those people trust us because they trust me and the word I have given them. After years, he seems like he is changing… seems like he is developing a conscience… but he always reverts back and his crooked ways are revealed. He jeopardizes our security and I am a slave in my cage until I can find a way out. We are not of means and can’t just abandon, but I really want to. He knows that and this is where his confidence in being a grifter and a hustler comes from. How can he squeeze the very last drop out of everyone he knows for his own benefit to build his own not-so-little nest? He behaves just long enough to make you think he has grown a conscience, spins a good yarn with his words, then his true self emerges.
I don’t want an ounce of my sacrifice and struggle to aide and uplift a liar. These evildoers rely on our morals, our ethics, our standards, our honesty and integrity and they leverage it against us as power seekers and oppressors. They’ll give carrots to keep you holding on one more year… then another… then another. Out of duty to family and our children, we serve. Because we love those we have made promises to. We love our kids and want them safe and stable. They know that, thus we are enslaved or forced to find another slave master with different terms and conditions of indenturedness.
There are so few with true integrity. These evildoers will not be blessed. God hates them.
Revelation 21:8 – But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.
To try to remain positive as the world burns around us, I am drawn to Hebrews 12
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. I pray we all keep enduring. This is not easy. How do we strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees and how do we make level paths for our feet? Maybe that is where we focus now.
Dear Jwoo, I am heart broken for you and your daughter. I am so sorry that you have to bear with all these things. I know better now how to pray for you.
The pictures you describe, I know them very well. And how you say, it is so true; predators use our kindness and good nature to manipulate us and devour us for their evil desires; and afterwards have no conscience how you’ve “covered for them” countless times, and protected them, from what they actually really deserved; but we thought it would be better to suffer in private.
As impossible as it looks right now, God is able; and He is bearing it with you. I hope and pray that He shows you a way of escape; and the criminal and abuser would be removed far from you and your daughter.
I’m so sorry that you had nowhere to go to pour your heart out; but maybe it was the Lord’s guidance.
Take heart Sister, this will NOT be for ever; Jesus WILL come and save us!
P.S. And I will pray for the man you mentioned, that the Lord would humble him and put him in fear for his soul; and for all the evil he has brought to those who loved him. God can do anything! Either way, He will not leave you in the trial and suffering for ever; “The Day of Vengeance is in My heart; and the Year of My redeemed comes!”

That’s normal; and nothing to make us quit. Jesus offended a lot of People; even to the point that they crucified Him! I never read anything that He said, that wasn’t true and meant for the person’s good whom He was speaking to.
As far as pointing out things that people post, that I believe are against what the Scriptures say, tell me what you think I’m getting wrong.

Michael, I wanted to thank you for showing me something that I wouldn’t otherwise have known. You’ve saved me a lot of valuable time. I was quite taken back by some of the comments to you today. I haven’t been here but a few months and have enjoyed feeling free to post my thoughts on various subjects.
I’ve read your posts with interest, not always agreeing but appreciative that you’ve always faithfully quoted Scripture .I think that is, perhaps, the reason that some receive your posts less than graciously. It’s easy to spout platitudes and many much prefer that to Scripture simply because it can’t be refuted without flying in the face of God Himself. Many find that “preachy” because it makes them uncomfortable.
I commend you for being here and the way you handle your detractors. I must say that today is the first time I ever heard anyone tell another person not to pray for them. I was appalled. This is the kind of treatment one expects from the World but not on a “Christian” thread.
There are some Scriptures that I could quote about things like ” shaking the dust off one’s feet” or “not receiving sound doctrine” but I’m sure you know them all. May God bless and keep you my friend. I’m sure you’re well equipped to handle anything that comes your way.
As for me, I’ll be looking somewhere else for conversation and fellowship. Just like George Carlin, I know when I’m not in the club. Blessings in your battles here.
I thank you for speaking up too. I can’t deny that I have often felt like that, and was perfectly okay with “shaking the dust off my feet” and moving on. But then it always happens, that the Lord sends a handful of real brothers and sisters to tell me, I’m doing what He wants right where I am.

JWoo, your acid response to Michael, rejecting his heart-felt offer of prayer for you is EXACTLY why non-Christian people reject those who follow Christ. Just because you don’t like his style of writing. Why can you not take your own advice and just scroll past his posts? I’m of the opinion that an offer of prayer should never be dismissed or rejected. You never know who will offer a prayer of faith in the time of your trouble.

That message from Tennessee the other night really upset me. She’s absolutely right and he’s targeting people that I have grown immensely fond of. Share God, because you love God and because that joy you have in him is contagious! Share joy, share tears, and love the person you sit alongside.

Your first sentence is way off base. So is your second sentence.
Most commenters here understand that this website belongs to Sundance.
He and his team are the deciders of which posts are unworthy – not “the gang.”
It may seem like certain ones have “teamed up” against Michael;
But in reality, they are the same group of people who have continually battled his on-going quarreling.
He sits on his self-appointed perch here to “correct” anyone that he disagrees with – especially a Biblical comment.
He just corrected me two days ago, telling me what “I need.”
People have pointed this out to him multiple times “to please stop” – yet he will not listen.
His comments are condescending and unwelcome by most posters.
Uninvited and demeaning corrections are not well-received by folks.
So, in the simplest way … Michael should post his material as usual, and those not interested can bypass.
And when others post their material as usual, Michael can also scroll by if he disagrees – NOT stop and lecture.

It is amazing how all these “new names” pop up that we’ve never heard of before – nor have they given formal introductions. They mysteriously appear and quite suddenly Michael has upvotes. That’s not the standard.
Fact is a fact – there are several scriptures that speak to Michael’s pharisee behavior and the ones who defend him are “unknowns” with zero street cred.
Now, maybe you are a silent lurker – or maybe you’re not. The fact is I have witnessed Michael attack others – even ones who have agreed with him – and I want no part of his sermon, his attention, or his prayers.
If you pray with him – then by all means, but I am most comfortable about where I stand on this.

The REAL way to share Christ is to share how Christ has affected your personal life – and because you love HIM – you share what GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU. Then, if no one engages or responds to him… there’s the pitiful outcry “No one likes me – so I’ll just leave. Do you like me?”
He’s not seeking to elevate GOD – he seeks to elevate himself. Know the difference. His kind of behavior is truly what drives people away from churches.

I love this. Been there, done that.
Is there an equivalent one for a single father raising a son? My son’s doing that right now, after a druggie mother had the boy for 7 years. He arrived in WI from MI with no winter coat, no boots, no gloves, on enough behavior-altering legal drugs to drop a horse – didn’t smile. He has problems and my son is dealing with them all alone. Places that help single mothers won’t help him.
He’ll get through it, though. I pray for them both.
Following, I was just thinking the same thing – fathers, too!
Our family has experienced single parenting in both of these ways.
It’s heart-wrenching.

My great-grandmother was the oldest of nine girls.
Her mother died in childbirth – delivered a baby boy!
Then, he died a few days later.
I’ve heard their stories and have a photo of all the girls, their widowed father, and the dog standing together.
God brought them all through, and they had good lives.

I am so sorry to hear about your son’s situation. I found it was always super important as a single mom to keep her (and me) busy. The same applies for the boys. May I offer some suggestions that really helped us:
AWANA – which is a Christian scout style program where the kids earn badges and prizes for memorizing Scripture – boys and girls co-ed https://www.awana.org/
UPWARDS – they have basketball and soccer, cheerleading, up to 6th grade – boys or girls leagues https://www.upward.org/
TRAIL LIFE – https://www.traillifeusa.com/ specifically for boys and an alternative to the Boy Scouts. Same principles of Boy Scouts but Christian themed for dads and sons to bond.
The first two – your son can receive a bit of a respite and can drop off with the groups – or stay to observe or be involved as much as he would prefer. They are very reasonably priced and scholarships are available when there is a need. Please don’t let money be a reason they don’t participate – these organizations will help!
The last one – a friend of ours had their son in it and he is such a good upstanding, honorable young man. I would easily agree to an arranged marriage with my daughter if I could!! He’s a lot like an eagle scout now, but I can’t speak to the amount of time your son would have to invest in that one, but I can tell you… your son would never be alone! These men would surround him and your grandson and give them a community to belong to. I don’t know pricing on that one.
I promise you – these organizations can help bring your grandson out of his shell and focus him on positive things, give him cohorts, and much needed energy release. Might give your son a bit of a break.

Jwoo, you might try having your daughter wear blue blocker glasses whenever she is using a computer screen after mid-afternoon. I bought mine for $16 at Walmart. At that price, they are worth a try for whatever marginal benefit she might derive.
Assess how much light comes into her room at night. The less light the better. She may need to play an audio version of an instructional podcast to distract her from replaying in her mind the things that bother her. Usually the speakers keep their intonation and cadence and volume within a range that will not grab attention. No ads.
Provide her some almonds, cashews, or other low sugar dietary source of magnesium.
Easy stuff that may help and cheap to try.

Thank you for the kind suggestions. You would laugh – daughter does none of those things. She insists in lighting in her room because she doesn’t like the dark – she has a lava lamp AND a salt lamp AND a string of modest LED lights that she absolutely must have every night.
She has a nature sound machine and she adopted another when a teacher was giving away a few things – so she has crackling fire and ocean waves going simultaneously.
Her glasses are prescription and she wears them all the time. She is no longer medicated with a controlled substance and she finds it BETTER. She is using L-Theanine at 200 mg coupled with Caffeine and we’ve been finding low calorie options for caffeine. She says the L-Theanine lasts longer and feels clearer and she likes that she no longer feels like a hostage to a doctor for a controlled substance. Why more doctors don’t recommend this, I’ll never know (well, I have an idea – because they want to keep our kids medicated and big Pharma likes it.)
We do lots of nuts, omega-3 fish, and power greens in our diet and the girl has lost 35 lbs from COVID weight. She’s healthy and svelte – not thin, she’s got my curves.
The fact is – my daughter is considered a “safe” person at school and thus receives quite a bit of attention from those who are negative and from those seeking her intercession on their behalf. Savannah is like me – she is fearless – and she protects those weaker than her. She won’t hesitate to stand up to a bully – or even a group of bullies – and (so far) she has been able to back them all down. I do realize that this will not always be the case – and for that, I do have my concerns. She knows that she has my full support if she ever needs to defend herself and, frankly, if I were those hooligans, I wouldn’t mess with her. She’s gentle and compassionate in Spirit – but don’t mistake her kindness for weakness.
I would absolutely REMOVE the electronics if I could – but they are an everpresent thing in her long day. Her phone keeps her connected to me and she will listen to Christian music on her ear buds to try to drown out the nonsense and, frankly, to stay calm and grounded. Some youtube gives her great entertainment and gives her levity and laughter. She never seeks out bad content, but the content seeks her out – as I have the BARK parent app and it is terrific for monitoring. I monitor, of course, with her buy in and permission, because I do respect my daughter’s privacy.
Sorry – I am so long-winded today. I do want to say thank you for the suggestions and many we have in practice. It was through our beautiful Tree that I learned about the L-Theanine and I praise God for that every day.
By the way, if I had to sleep in her room with all the lights and sounds – I would lose my mind. She and I are polar opposites in those things and it makes it quite interesting around here to share space.

What a beautiful spread, Patience. Now, in the tall glass – that resembles a raspberry blueberry pomegranate ice that I made for kiddo after her surgery. Pureed in the ninja blender and it was just delicious. A good break from the boring. Tonight is just oven-roasted chicken thighs, teriyaki steak cubes, with onions, and mushrooms. Intentional leftovers for school lunches.

G, I just had my fill. Setting up some clear boundaries in my life and it’s time for some new chapters. I believe in being polite – but not a pushover. I think some very well-mannered people sit by while the world goes to hell in hand basket and then they wonder why?
Funny thing is that God totally showed up in a few circumstances that took the antics of the local one to task using his own words against him. If you make promises to people – especially large groups of people – they’ll help you remember. Then He’ll throw in a few speed bumps and obstacles for you to trip over to contradict your hustling.
Poetic justice is always kind of sweet, though maybe that’s not the most Christian thing to relish in. It’s always better when God can teach them using their own words and actions. I don’t even utter an “I told you so”… I just keep my lip zipped and keep moving and producing and creating, but under my breathe I say “I see You, God.” and I smile.

Your deep faith, girl, sustains you and makes you stronger and arms you to the hilt. I know your guardian angels surround you both sent by Him who watches over you. I pray you can feel His and their presence in this abominable situation.

I had to call my mentor this morning – we laughed to ourselves as God is very OBVIOUSLY working in the situation of the local cesspool.
Appreciate your continued prayers – there was video received this morning of many FIGHTS in the high school. Daughter no longer goes to the lunch room. Goes to a quiet meeting room instead and the 3rd period teachers are letting the kids eat lunch during their classes – because the good kids are being adversely affected.
The Principal decried the kids posting the fights to social media (which we are not a part of) and he said they have punished those offenders who posted such and told them to stop doing it. Notice – they don’t WANT US seeing what’s happening in the schools.
Now, instead of group meeting with Principal in front of a parent forum – he is opting for small groups – of 4 or 5 – out to coffee or to have a meal. Yeah, sure. So, he keeps the feedback from the small groups AWAY from the big group – because they continue to ISOLATE US so they don’t have to listen to the overall public – nor will the overall public be privy to all of the problems that will be reported from the small groups.
All a tactic.
But we all see right through it, don’t we??? Isolate so we can’t communicate.
Kiddo is better this morning. We read Hebrews 12 together and armored up. Prayers for her continued protection and vigilance is appreciated.
Last year for her, right? Yes, smaller groups are a weapon used by “educators and administrators” like this. Makes it easier to divide, manipulate, to claim what was said wasn’t, to disparage anyone and everyone in those small groups as delusional, unhinged or both.

I do hope recordings are being taken, even if it has to be done surreptitiously, so notes can be compared.

I grieve for your girl, JWoo. Normally what should be a final year of joyous anticipation of moving on is clearly being ruined for these young people. As surely on some level was the plan. Chaos, disruption, and misery. What an odious man for taking what is not his.
Two more years… she’s a junior. I was foolish in believing it got “easier” as they got older. Learning that lesson. Then, of course, there’s launching her, which I am not so certain will look as it would normally. I am not convinced college is in the cards with the indoctrination, even in some Christian universities. We will wait on The Lord for His leading.
Sounds like the principal needs a paddle applied to his posterior. May I volunteer…
GrandpaM, he was encouraging them that four universities turned him down before being accepted to Ball State Univ – with a 2.2 GPA.
He told them all he was “troublemaker” in school. He left his last Principal position after 1 year because he “couldn’t stand middle schoolers”.
The kids were all astonished and wondered what “they” were thinking making him a Principal.
I think we have slim-pickins when it comes to professionals. Garrison, we need you back in the game, man. LOL – I am sure you are GLAD to be retired.

Nothing gets easier as our children get older, I’m afraid. A misconception of mine as well.
I kept thinking if only O can get them to the age of wisdom (my first error as that is an acquired possession over our lifetimes) or to the point of setting up their lives away from my daily overseeing, I’d worry less.
But that was the problem as I discovered. When they were not within a hug’s reach and days or weeks or even months would pass when I wouldn’t see them, my mother’s senses were always on duty…at least in the periphery of my brain.
Nope…doesn’t get easier at all I am loath to tell you…😬
That for me is when trust in the Father comes in and faith that He has them in the palm of His hand. We have to let go sometime. A few years away for you. But the time comes soon enough…too soon.

9/12/2023 – All that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth
Nehemiah 7:5-6 “And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and found written therein, These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;”
Ezekiel 37:11-14 “Then He said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up out of your graves, and shall put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall you know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.”
John 5:24-29 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father has life in Himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in Himself; and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
We understand from the Scriptures, that there is a first resurrection; which shall be of the saints, at the coming of the Lord, and the commencement of Christ’s thousand year reign over all the earth. According to the Lord’s own words, by several parables which He spoke; it will be at that time, when He takes account of all His servants, to give every one of them what their work shall be in His kingdom.
The rest of the dead will continue to sleep in their graves, until after the thousand years, after the final test and sifting of the nations, when the devil shall be loosed for a short season, to deceive those who were born during the thousand years and only lived under the righteous reign of Christ and the saints. Then comes the Judgment Day, before the Great White Throne of Christ, when all the rest of the dead, which have ever lived upon the earth, shall be raised again; and the books will be opened for judgment and eternal verdict for every soul of man.
There are very, very many Scriptures, which speak about God raising up again, and restoring the former estates of cities and nations from long ago; especially directing our attention to the day of eternity, and entire houses and families and tribes, inhabiting and building again, the old waste places, and desolations of former generation. To this, in the law of Moses alone, are more than thirty times, warnings about how certain sins would cut one off (make extinct) from among his people; which implies, that those people would be forever; and all the names of every house and family.
In these Texts taken for today, are of course, two great points. One, is that there is a Registry written, containing every name of every family; and which shall be used for reckoning, and taking account, and calling the roll. There is a day, which God has in His heart; when He will call for all the nobles, and the rulers, and all the people; to reckon by genealogy.
And, two, The Lord Jesus Christ will at that day make Himself known to His brethren, the whole house of Israel, that He is the LORD; and He will at that time put His Spirit into every one; and all shall know Him, from the least to the greatest.
Now as is suggested in reckoning with the Registry; it is for the sake of the world to come, and everlasting life, and a wholly inhabited world with peoples and nations and cities; and the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea: and all the former things, forgotten past. The Registry is for ‘who’ will be those inhabitants of the new heaven and earth. It is for commencing the Day of Eternity.
When we think about how brief and unfulfilling this life is; when we think about how aging and fading away and vanishing from the world, goes against everything we would attribute to our eternal souls; we can only come up with one answer, which is to believe the testimony of the word of God, that this is not all there is for us here! If we think about all our heroes in the bible, or all our loved ones and ancestors, who have been for only a brief while and have passed away; we have to believe, that God has a great and wonderful plan, and a grand design for ALL His children; that He also waits for with us, to bring it to pass. The day is coming when we will all be together; ALL the people of our families, from the very begining of their becoming families; and we will all be together and know each other; and all of us will be living in our own lands, that God has given to us, for ever!

We keep our powder dry, much as those who at least for the moment hold power are really trying to bait us with every deliberately executed outrage. It started with the arrests of people on J6 who were themselves baited with intent by the Gestapo (I can not use a appropriate name for what the now rogue FBI have morphed into) while leaving alone those who gained access to Speaker McCarthy’s office who were not afforded the same treatment. What is the difference?
We simply have to take each day at a time, as you in Europe do. The agenda has been speeded up by the self described monstrous “elites”. No one wants what you speak of, Evolution. But at some future point I expect those powers to commit an act so egregious we may have not choice. I pray not.
But there is great power in numbers. We are many. They are a relative few. There will be much discussio by Sundance on this existential subject forthcoming…and then be us in this Tree following.I look forward to reading what you will post.

Honestly, it’s also a question of point of view. Personally I know that one day there will no longer be France, or even Europe. If we accept the fact that everything has an end and that everything returns to dust… Who can then accept that the United States can disappear? Who will accept the fact that we are only passing through Earth among ephemeral countries? Obviously this vision is not compatible with patriotism.
I think we fight for what will not last forever, as no empire has ever done…see Rome and latterly the British Empire…because we have children and grandchildren who have to exist in what we will be leaving.
An axiom of mine is that we should always try to leave a place better than we found it. I am afraid in this case it will not be possible.
As for the United States disappearing, as you put it, my view is that this country is almost over the horizon, so far gone we can barely recognize her.
It is also my view that she has been deliberately forced in that direction for decades, under the cover of darkness so none of us were able to see what was going on.
If I say that I believe the veil over all which has been happening without our knowledge has been Divinely lifted, I know you will understand. I have often said that in choosing the side of good against palpable evil…as the good servant of Almighty God, Archbishop Vigano has clearly and often stated we must right now…then we can’t fight blindly against an invisible enemy.
We must have full view.
And we do now. My gosh we do. It is hideous, this evil, and frightening. How do we acquit ourselves if not by doing all we can where we can to defeat it.
At any rate, this has been an unsettling morning for many reasons so I will withdraw, polish my armour.

We did! Unexpectedly last night. Heard the thunder as we retired. And as it was not forecast (though that’s no surprise because as I said to JWoo above He knows what we need and will provide) we were all the more grateful for it. Cooler? Finally and suddenly yes!! All thanks and praise for that as well.
As far as Mo is concerned, he may be absent but he is not, never, forgotten. God places people in our lives for we don’t know how long. If his path crossed ours for only a little while then we will be grateful for that and continue our journeys, meeting and making new friends, confident that our disparate and ordained roads will eventually merge into one glorious meeting place so much better than our earthly one.
