Good afternoon dear Bet! Had a busy morning. Men’s breakfast, then attended men’s prayer over the new high school football stadium turf. Finally back on the bike at the health club. Picking up Nipper afterwards. Whew, sweating just from writing this. 😂❤️😘

Yesterday was unbearably hot. And for bill reduction purposes I keep the indoor temperature set at 85. We’ve become acclimated, sort of. Last month’s bill arrived this past week and even at 85, it was shockingly horrendous. Nevertheless, I didn’t budge it upwards, thinking that surely we were nearing the end of a crucifying summer.
Anyway, last night about 6 after dinner I was sitting and thought that it seemed a lot higher than 85. I was glowing like post nuclear radiation. I checked and the thermostat said 91!!!!!
A/C wasn’t working…on a Friday night at 6…when everyone had gone home. Because of course it wasn’t.
We found someone who would come out this morning, and left a message with the people who service our unit for a Monday visit.
Then we sat Kentucky frying the rest of the night. Fans set up for sleeping…as if that was going to happen. Then this morning awoke to a much cooler house, A/C suddenly working.
???????!!! But 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
We cancelled the arranged appointment then received a call from our guys, and their technician who we trust arrived and found the reason for the shutdown, some teensy weensy wiring problem that he sorted out in the attic where our indoor unit is.
So how however much you’re sweating, we have you beaten!!!😂
One thing that occurred to me…how in this world did the pioneers who traversed the continental US survive as they trudged onward to establish new lives?? I wouldn’t have made a very good one I decided…

I was actually paraphrasing/quoting from the Bible (several books, in fact), which I do believe is the inspired Word of God:
Hosea 1:2, 10-11:
When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea:

For the land has committed great harlotry
By departing from the Lord.”
“Yet the number of the children of Israel
Shall be as the sand of the sea,
Which cannot be measured or numbered.
And it shall come to pass

There it shall be said to them,
‘You are sons of the living God.’
Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel
Shall be gathered together [this was not the case 2000 years ago, when Samaria was separated and shunned],

And they shall come up out of the land,
For great will be the day of Jezreel!” [A/k/a Armageddon in Revelation 16:16]
Isaiah 63 repeats this imagery. God wants His intimate relationship with His much-loved people. Like a husband wants a meaningful relationship with his wife.
For context, when Hosea was written, Solomon’s temple was still standing, and the southern kingdom of Judea was very wealthy. The northern kingdom of Israel was incredibly wealthy as well (furniture of ivory). But they were going through the motions with God, concurrently worshiping other gods, and God became a concept as they lost the importance of having a true relationship with Him.
God has not abandoned Israel, and when they are ready to return to that relationship, He is already waiting for them (Jesus taught the parable of the prodigal son, who blew through his inheritance but never lost his son-ship). The church has the same problems, thus Jesus’ epistles in Revelation 2 and 3 contain some pretty harsh criticism and instructions to change as well.
God is loving, and will keep His promises, every one of them. Ezekiel 37: 24-28; Amos 9:11; Acts 15:16-17; Ezekiel 38 and 39; Revelation 14:20 all dovetail with Hosea.
The Lord bless you Flora, for your generous and friendly spirit. I appreciate all you write, and can only think; The Parable of the Sower – many choose NOT to have a good and honest heart when they hear the word, and so, it cannot enter into their hearts in the way that would produce its good fruit. Wayside hearts, trampled on by sin and selfishness and the world, hard as rock, like a foot path; NOTHING is gonna penetrate! The stony heart that WILL NOT do the work of preparing the heart to receive the word ‘deep down;’ and quickly withers under the first heat of the day. The one tossed in with the thorns, and suffocated; because all the cares and pleasures of this life, which are so firmly established, will not allow for the tender New Life of a Christian to take root.
But the good and honest heart, which comes to the light for the very reason of manifesting EVERYTHING by the Light, with the faith and hope of God saving and changing him into something fit for the Presence of God, and into a real friend of God that can be trusted; THIS ONE is the example of the RIGHT WAY to hear!

Thank you, Michael. I think there was a simple misunderstanding based on an incomplete understanding of what I had written, and a desire to defend others.
In the parable of the sower (Matthew 13), the explanation for “And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them” is “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.”
Later, in the parable of the mustard seed, the birds are occupying the church (“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”) in an abnormally overgrown plant. https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/mustard
Many have lost faith because of those evil birds (my own brother included). I pray that all believers in Christ keep sowing His seed, and let Him deal with the birds!

If you found that you had some counterfeit Twenties in your wallet, would you throw away all your money? You might find it interesting, that Jesus rebuked and completely condemned hypocrisy, at every encounter with those kind; and it was especially those kind that opposed and contradicted Jesus, and eventually delivered up to be killed, saying, We have no King but Caesar! Away with Him, away with Him; crucify Him! His blood be on us and on our children!
If you found hypocrites and fake Christians; (and there are lots!), that doesn’t get you out of the fact that you are still a man made in the image of God, and bought by the blood of Jesus! You keep saying, That’s why I’m not churched! Well, good for you! But using it to falsely excuse yourself for being an enemy of the Lord; and worst of all, not proving yourself true by being that man of God that you clearly see others are not; does not justify you! That rather puts you in the very dark and dangerous position of being a hater of the Lord, who takes opportunities, (or makes up opportunities) to blaspheme!
The truth is, that it is the heathen and the haters of the Lord who have made the words Pious and Religious to mean something contemptible and to be rejected out of hand. True Piety and true Religion is to walk in truth and humility with God, visiting the widows and orphans poor and needy and the stranger in their afflictions, and keeping one’s self unspotted from the world. If being good and loving your neighbor as yourself, and loving and serving God with all your heart is evil in your eyes; what do you think the end of that will really be? You can’t listen to oldies and reminisce about your childhood idols forever! The day is coming VERY soon, you’re gonna have to let go of the dream and wake up for ever!
I sincerely hope you can get over your unjust and completely without cause hostility to Jesus SOON. And just so you know, there’s no one here who thinks they’re better than you for being a Christian: if you would honestly read the Bible for yourself, and understand; then you would sure see things you haven’t even been able to think of before. You will one day be surprised to know who your real friends were in this life; and they were not the ones who encouraged you in being against God and Jesus and the Bible!

There is no other God, and no other way to God! The faith of Christ IS THE ONLY TRUE WAY GIVEN TO MAN BY GOD! And God has ordained that we can only be saved by believing the report preached to us by other men! The reason for that, is for showing who is of the truth in their heart, and who is not. All the sin, God can deal with in a man, and heal him; but when there is no truth, God has no option, but to finally throw the wicked worthless away and forget it for ever. That is not what man was made for; but we have, for better or worse, been made with the knowledge of good and evil; and God will respect whatever stand we take, if we are determined that that’s what we are.

Nehemiah 2 records the issuing of the decree to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, after the original punishments for failing to observe sabbath years and then for failing to submit to Babylon.

Sorry KP, the ten tribes are not the Christians; but the actual ten tribes of the sons of Israel, who were carried out of their land by the Assyrians. God knows who they are, and where they are; and He will, as He has said, bring them ALL back to the land He gave to their fathers.
Then prophets said so much, describing how the Gentiles would bring them back, carrying them on their shoulders, when Jesus returns, and the house of Israel is once and for all, for ever converted and saved, and KNOW THAT THE LORD IS THEIR GOD AND SAVIOR.
Too much pretended spiritualism of Scriptures is not accurate understanding. Ask, seek, and knock; for God does give wisdom and understanding, and knowledge comes from Him. There is a right way to interpret the prophetic word; and it is NOT whatever anyone wants to make it; but the way God meant it!
9/9/2023 – Galatians chapter Three continued
Galatians 3:15-19 “Brethren, (I am speaking according to man,) even of man a confirmed covenant no one sets aside or adds thereto. Now to Abraham were spoken the promises, and to his seed; He does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ. Now this I say, [the] covenant confirmed beforehand by God to Christ, the law which took place four hundred thirty years after does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect: for if by law [be] the inheritance, [it is] no longer by promise; but God granted [it] to Abraham through promise. Why then the law? For the sake of transgressions it was added, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made, having been ordained through angels in [the] hand of a mediator.”
It is by direction of the Spirit of God, that we have been given such deeply important teaching about the promise of Christ and the law. The liberty that we have been granted in having access to learning from God, is not allowed for us to lay aside for indifference and laziness; but part of all the different courses of study prescribed for us by God, while we are still here in this world, and Basic Training for the world to come.
Proverbs 13:13 “Whoso despises (disrespects) the word shall be destroyed: but he that fears the commandment shall be rewarded.”
“Every Scripture is God-inspired,” and not to be neglected. And the first adversary in combat that we will have to learn to face and defeat, is indolence and indifference; which war against the Spirit, and work to keep Christians ignorant and vulnerable to the wiles of the devil.
Why would a Christian not want to know the hard things of the word of God? Because it would then force them (that is, against their will) to think, to honestly examine themselves and to judge; and because it would take away the blinders from their eyes obscuring and distorting their view of the world, which they would really rather stay in. Diligently setting one’s heart upon the things of God, and His view of themselves and the world, would demand waking up from their dream world of me, myself, and I; and all the meaningless decorations and stage-playing, that they’ve come to trust in as Christianity.
Why don’t Christians like to search the Scriptures, to see if these things are so? Why don’t they like to engage in argument and discussion, and to have their doctrine challenged? Why do their heads get sleepy, and start to numb, when forced to think hard, and pray, and wait for the Spirit to teach? Well these are certainly very important questions we need to honestly consider; because there is a day coming, when the Lord Jesus Christ Himself will be taking account with us for these things.
Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no *light (lit. ‘dawning,’ as in one rising early to a task) in them.” People don’t want to know, not only because of ‘what’ they would then know, that they really don’t want to think about; but because it involves taking pains, and committing to discipline and subjection to the Spirit of God. Why has man’s “natural mind” devolved to such an antichrist and heathen frame, and alienated from God? Because his deeds are evil, and he hates the light which exposes the evil. The law was given for this very thing; for a light that would show us; both the divine nature and glory of Christ, as well as our utterly ruined and unfit for the Presence of God condition.
So, for the same reason that Christians do not like to study the law, as it relates to the faith of Christ, is exactly the reason for its having been brought in. And the law has been brought in, so that there can be no excuse; because there is no excuse for neglecting the word of God, and for taking pains to learn all the knowledge that God has decided to put in the Bible.
The wisdom that God gives through His word, is not only for deep and sharp insight into understanding; but wisdom is perfected in acting upon that knowledge and understanding of the truth, under subjection to all the trials and challenges in ourselves, and in this world, which war against the Spirit of Christ.
That’s why it is important for us to study and learn the hard things, and the difficult to understand, in the Scriptures: for they are indeed the most important for our salvation, and to confirm us to the end, to be of the truth when we stand before Him.
Paul uses the example of, “even a man’s covenant confirmed . . ” to clarify the place of the law with respect to the promise and the faith of Christ. Once a testament has been confirmed, it cannot be set aside nor added to afterwards. Every contract is like that; you can’t secure an agreement to do some work for someone, and then afterwards add things or take away from what was originally set. The promise to Abraham was confirmed, and the covenant cut, four hundred thirty years before God gave Moses the law for Israel; and therefore was off limits as far as making changes to the terms of the covenant.
The bringing in of the law upon Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, was for a sign and instruction, of what God had in store for His people, and then for the whole world. The law was not an amendment to the already confirmed promise and covenant; but for teaching what exactly the coming kingdom of God means. Therefore, while it was not brought in for justifying the heirs of the promise; it was brought in to expose the evil; and that, in order to bring the worshiper to the altar. For, “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick; I came, not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
It was the same principle of why God was righteous in showing kindness and forgiveness to Adam and Eve; and not killing them outright for having sinned. They did indeed go forth from the garden shame faced, clothed with animal skins and barred from access to the tree of life; but they had the word of faith, which they both heard the LORD speak to the serpent, about Christ the Redeemer coming in the flesh. They were granted the rest of the time of their natural lives, such as it now was; upon the word of faith in Christ; AND in there henceforth accounting of themselves by that word.
Galatians 4:1-2 “Now I say, over as long time as the heir is an infant, he differs nothing from a bondman, [though] being lord of all; but he is under guardians and house managers (tutors and governors) until the time before appointed of the father.”
But when the infant has come to full age, and takes his place and portion appointed of the father; he does not abolish all that he was brought up under, nor abandon all that he has learned and been trained in. But he puts them to use as the foundation of all things. So it is with the Christian with regard to the law: now that we have come to Christ, and have received from Him the new Creation and the New Birth from above; those things which before only foretold and revealed the divine nature afar off; are now what we live, and are the fundamental duties of our position.
If the Spirit of Christ be in us, and presides freely and completely; then the law of Christ’s character will emanate in the manner of life, “in Spirit, and in Truth!” The law was first given to the household of God, with a view to the promise of the kingdom of God coming within us; and for then bringing what God has done to us, to the whole world.

Yesterday I took the Dodge Pickup and went to Mofab, my family’s business, to get the fire ring I had made for Todd. Todd is the neighbor two doors down. He is the roofing supervisor for Mustin’s Builders that is the contractor that will be doing the Sunroom and garage additions to our home.
There are two longtime family construction companies in my area that have reputations for excellent work. They are always busy and can pick and choose the jobs they want to do and Mustin’s is one of them. I know Todd had something to do with getting them to come out and bid on the work I want done. Also in the past when Mustin’s was going to reroof my parents house Todd gave me a heads up that Dad had picked a sucky color shingle that would not look right for the house. Dad’s cognitive ability was deteriorating by then and so we kids got together and convinced Dad what color he needed based on a selection of samples Todd provided.
So I paid for the fire ring that is made out of rolled and welded 11 ga. (a little under 1/8th inch thick) hot roll steel sheet. It is 6′ 4″ in diameter and 16″ high. I told Todd how to make the safe area around the ring by putting down a solid weed barrier and then put pea gravel over it and put the fire ring in the middle. He had some thick house wrap with reflective surface on one side and got the pea gravel. I also told him to use bricks to create a gap around the bottom of the ring to allow air to flow. All of this is what Steve and I had done for ourselves years ago. Mofab supplied both of our fire rings also.
Mofab had the ring ready and I got it strapped in the back of the pickup. I took Buckley with me to go get the fire ring. I want him to get confident that we aren’t dropping him off somewhere or going to the vet every time he get in a vehicle. He gave me the saddest eyes laying down on the passenger side of the bench seat and I reassured him and he came over and laid his head on my lap. He did great interacting with the people at Mofab.
I got the ring home and parked the truck until Todd would be ready for it. Then got in the FJ cruiser and took Buckley to the bank where I got cash for Sherry to take with her to Florida. Buckley was great. Left the FJ running with the AC on and went in a did my business and came out and Buckley was just sitting up waiting for me. When I got back I I saw Todd and pointed out the fire ring. I then started mowing my yard.
As I was doing that Todd was got to work on laying out the barrier and then borrowed Steve’s John Deer tractor with a bucket on it to put the pea gravel on it. Once I was done mowing Todd was ready and drove over and we put the ring in the middle of the pea gravel and put the bricks under it.
I of course got other stuff done yesterday. It was a productive day.
Niki is now down to 86 lb. On the 13th she gets a pain port and a few days later a pick line for feeding directly into the small intestines. Lorrie and Sherry will be down there to take care of Allison for those two procedures. Niki’s attitude, at least as she presents when we face time with her, has been great!
There’s a good company, Functional Formularies, that makes products for feeding tubes.
The founder was a nurse who didn’t like the products she had to use to feed her dad through his feeding tube.
She started making her own formula from scratch. It later evolved into this company.

Just for people’s information, for those that don’t know – a PICC line doesn’t involve formula for feeding tubes. It bypasses the intestinal tract altogether with nutrition given through IV into the bloodstream.
PICC stands for “peripherally inserted central catheter.” This intravenous catheter is inserted through the skin, into a vein in the arm, in the region above the elbow and below the shoulder.
Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) means all feeding is intravenously (through a vein).
If you’re eating but still have malnutrition, healthcare providers may offer you Partial Parenteral Nutrition (PPN) by IV to replace missing elements in your diet or give you additional calories.
This is done via the PICC line.
I noticed the “feeding directly into the small intestines.” which is what a feeding tube does .

There are ways to develop a positive attitude, even in the midst of a crisis. Acknowledge who God is and who you are in Christ. Worship Him, even if you do not feel like it. Keep a journal, giving thanks for blessings and His answers to your prayers. Look at stressors from God’s perspective – nothing is impossible with Him. Be thankful to God for your personal strengths and accomplishments. Be kind and appreciate the kindness of others toward you. Release the past and any worries about the future to His care. Maintain a sense of humor. Smile!
Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Delight in the Lord. Pray for the unity and joy of the Church. Pray that the believers’ joy will be a beacon through the darkness of this world. Pray for citizens and elected officials of the United States to find joy in the Lord.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Good morning, dear duchess😘🕊 Inspiration and comfort in your words this morning, sis, for any of us George Baileys out here who from time to time may feel “superfluous to requirements”.
We have each one been individually planted with Divine purpose by our Sower of Souls. We are all loved and needed for the completion of His plan.
As I said to my much younger than he is now son when he asked me what did I suppose was God’s purpose for his life, the answer for that was in God’s Holy Provenance; and that while he might come to think he knows what his purpose was, he (and we) are the threads of a rich tapestry, and he very probably would never know. But that each one is as needful as the other, as Corrie ten Boom put it so beautifully.
Again as I often say, I hope your thoughtful poem finds its way to those for whom it will help to understand that all are precious in His sight, no matter if they think otherwise.

NHC has forecasted the turn north for LEE. Although a turn north is likely, do not put too much confidence in the timing of this forecast. Such forecasts have changed before. Lee is now a weak CAT 3. It will most likely strengthen once it clears the shear around late tomorrow but it may not become a CAT 5 again. However it is likely this now relatively small storm will also have a significant increase in the size of the wind field once the sheer is gone.
As the storm proceeds north it will run into colder surface water as it hits the areas where Idalia and Franklin passed and will most likely weaken again.
If this track is correct then the outer banks and points south are free and clear. Bermuda certainly could see a hit if it follows the current NHC forecasted track. And New England and Newfoundland are not out of the woods yet. But if it does indeed turn north as the current NHC track indicates, it will be a good thing for them.
I know a whole lot’s going on elsewhere, but this weekend I’ve been out enjoying the return of one of my town’s most wonderful festivals, celebrating wooden boats of all sizes. This year there are more than 300, about 2/3rds of which use only wind, steam, solar or human power to operate. If you don’t think there are proper uses for non-electric, non-gasoline power, consider how long a history sailing has had using craftsmanship, wind and muscles.

Love wooden boats! I owned one once – a 1959 Chris Craft 26 ft. convertible cruiser. Double-planked mahogany hull, all mahogany trim and fittings, but it had a fiberglass cabin top and plexiglass cabin front windows. Engine was an inline 6 cyl Hercules that ran smooth, efficiently, and reliably; she could cruise all day on about 15 to 20 gallons of gas (staying at 1500 to 1800 rpm).
I bought her in ’71 and she was a total pig. Former owner used her as a fishing boat only and must have done minimal maintenance. I completely refurbished her as a weekend cruiser.
After removing about a ton of barnacles, I was able to restore the hull without needing any new wood. She did need to be re-corded in many places. The interior required complete reupholstering and curtains. The convertible top was trash so I bought all new marine vinyl top plus storm curtains all the way around the cockpit. The alcohol stove worked fine and the icebox was not rusted.
Most of her lines (ropes) needed replacing and all of the chrome fittings – the throttle, transmission lever, gauge trim bevels, cleats, and flagpole socket – all had to be stripped and triple plated with new nickel and chrome. Bilge pump, lights, wiring, all had to be replaced.
It was a beauty when it was done. I put 13 coats of varnish (lightly sanding between each coat) on the mahogany transom and the external mahogany trim which was all stripped with multiple applications of varnish/paint stripper, and once washed and dried, I re-stained everything reddish brown. The boaters in the small marina where I worked on it (on a cradle up in the boatyard) said it was the best looking wood boat they’d seen in many years.
I got two seasons of boating in but then our daughter came along and …. I decided to sell it for more important things…like baby stuff…. 😎

Millions have died. or have been severely injured eg heart damage, yet so many people remain delusional. They will probably obey any mandates re masking and travel restrictions. It is their training for the NWO coming in 2030.
Completely agree, this is ludocrious at this point! So many papers on how vacination ruined health for so many people yet some still preach that “everyone should be vaccinated!”
On the good note, I’ll be going and doing what actually helps your health: 2 whole weeks at my lake house(picked up some of the new striker ice gear and my boat is back from repairs, going to be fishing entire week!)
