Senator Raphael Warnock received a $155,000 payment from the Ebenezer Baptist Church (where he is allegedly still a part-time pastor), AFTER he became a senator. The Senate has a $30,000 limit on outside income for senators.
Warnock claimed the payment was for “deferred compensation” for services rendered BEFORE becoming a senator, but there is no record of this whatsoever.
Even if the $155,000 payment was “deferred compensation”, Federal rules require senators and candidates to report all “deferred compensation”, which Warnock failed to do.
Why was Raphael Warnock paid $155,000, and what is he hiding?
FACT’s Kendra Arnold is calling on the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate the matter and hold Senator Warnock responsible.
Violating these rules could result in fines of up to $50,000 or a year in prison.

I posted this earlier today on the open thread, but I think it fits here. I would love to know if any of you have experienced this in your area.
School around here sometimes starts in late August but there are a few districts that don’t start until the day after Labor Day. I was out of state for the last 10 days of August and out of town yesterday so I wasn’t paying much attention to the local “news”. (not that I ever really do)
So this morning my husband told me our local school districts are “closed again because of the weather”. “Did I miss something? Because I was just outside for my morning walk and it’s another beautiful sunny day.” I replied.
I find out they have been closing the schools due to the weather. It’s too hot. Yes it has been in the high 80s, low 90s, but what else is new?
All our schools are air-conditioned and have been for several years. I taught school here for 35 years and we didn’t have air-conditioned buildings until the last 5 years before I retired. I never remember them closing because it was too hot. We used to bring our own fans for the first month of the school year.
So is this a thing now? Our local news is pretty lousy so they don’t go into depth about any local topic, except sometimes sports, so I haven’t heard yet if parents are going along with this or if they are complaining to the school board.
This is a very conservative area. I can’t believe they are putting up with this and it makes me concerned about what else they will put up with, if you know what I mean. Maybe I’m just paranoid.
That’s a new one on me. Boy, if they did that in Texas, kids wouldn’t go to school most of the year (in spite of those nifty “new” inventions called “air conditioners” that blow cold air).
You might check with the school board to see what the HEY is going on!
P.S. By the way, I distinctly remember almost freezing to death most of the time I was in school because the a/c was set so low.

The farmer may want and need Rain, while the other may want perfectly clear sunny skies, maybe a random cloud to enance the pictures . Who wins and why?
Next day the farmer wants Calm clear cool days to harvest or spray weeds while the wedding planner wants beautiful snow on the ground, again for the pictures. again Who wins and why?
Here in Utah it has be cooler than normal although possibly a bit more humid and we are considerably south of Canada last time I looked.

Liberty Safe, a renowned manufacturer of gun safes, is drawing scrutiny after complying with an FBI request to provide the combination to a safe owned by Nathan Hughes, who was present in the January 6, 2021 Capitol event.
Keith and Kevin Hodge, known as the Hodgetwins or Conservative Twins, broke the news, revealing that their friend Hughes was arrested in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Wednesday, August 30. The duo pointed out the contrast between the treatment of Hughes and the members of groups like BLM and Antifa, questioning the motivations behind such disparate actions.
According to the Hodgetwins, Nathan Hughes was raided by the FBI and arrested at gunpoint over his involvement in the January 6th Capitol event that occurred more than two and a half years ago.
“On the morning of August 30th, 2023, I was swarmed by 3 vehicles of heavily armed FBI agents and arrested with rifles pointed at me. I was booked and taken to a government facility where they made me give them DNA samples,” said Hughes in his GiveSendGo.
At the same time, the FBI raided Hughes’s house and disconnected his security cameras, and disabled his internet. Nathan Hughes’s girlfriend, who had recently suffered a miscarriage, was also held at gunpoint and handcuffed.

Second, under HIPAA no doctor is ever supposed to give a diagnostic opinion about any patient whose records they have not seen or who they have not personally examined.
Third, you can’t diagnose from camera footage. That’s about as unprofessional as diagnosing over the phone.
Fourth, the original doc never said it was not a petit mal seizure. He said McConnell does not have a seizure disorder. Important distinction. There are a number of possible causes of a petit mal seizure including tumors, alcohol abuse and vascular dementia, none of which are “seizure disorders”.
If the original doc does know the cause, but Mitch has not authorized public release of that info, all the doc can do is discuss conditions that have been ruled out, and what tests were used to decide that.
