although some of those folks (that make lists like that) get pretty wound up and make clearly faulty assumptions that lead to clearly faulty conclusions

According to yada yada the melting point of glass is 1400C to 1600C, while a normal forest fire burns at most 1200°C, according to yada
Fine, but is a ‘forest fire’ the correct assumption?
Those burnt out cars are on a dirt/gravel lot and were subjected to – at most – a grass fire … I’ve looked at the area on google maps and there are bare areas alongside the housing ares … they were covered in grass
So a grass fire probably burns less hot than a forest fire, increasing the conundrum
But riddle me this: what manner of propulsion do those cheap Japanese imports run on?
Ans: internal combustion engine
And what powers those internal combustion engines?
Ans: gasoline
And those types of cars come equipped with what?
Ans: gas tank
So the proper assumption might be that the grass fire ignited the cars (maybe first at the tires) and at some point gasoline leaked and the cars went up in a gasoline-fired car inferno
Or maybe an arsonist set them on fire
So you’d want to look up the burn temperature of a gasoline-fired car fires and then maybe your melted glass starts to make more sense
In other words, a gasoline-fueled car inferno is the proper assumption, not a ‘forest fire’
The guy in the picture kneeling has 2 car videos, one at this site and another 2 miles down the road
His conclusion: directed energy weapon
Why? He gets launched on these burning temperature arguments and that 2 mile car was on a gravel highway shoulder and didn’t even have enough grass or brush around it “to cause the car to burn”
He’s so fixated on the concept that the grass fire burned the car that it doesn’t occur to him to reverse his thinking: maybe the car was set on fire and that caused the grass fire that’s immediately downhill from the car, but off that gravel shoulder.
In other words: arson
Simple arson
Note that most of the burn area in Lahaina was below that upper bypass road, which gives easy access to arsonists
And then he gets all hopped up about melting temperatures of glass and aluminum wheels and that a grass fire wouldn’t be hot enough to cause all that, even if there was enough grass around the car
Conclusion: death ray … directed energy weapon
Not a glimmer of consideration that this was a gasoline-stoked car fire, like the carbecues in France

I tried to tell you this a couple of weeks ago, and you thought I was nuts. Maybe you’ll be more open to the idea now?
Try watching and listening this time. What have you got to lose? What if its true? I believe there’s a lot of things we don’t know, about what all “they” have been secretly working on for the last 75+ years.

It’s not mentioned in the video, but judging from the body type it doesn’t look like a modern EV – to my eye at least.
Good view at 1:10 — It looks like a Jeep Wagoneer or look-alike … anyone make an EV that looks like that?
Someone mentioned in comments that “this is the way people dispose of vehicles in Hawaii” — rather than have them taken to a junkyard and pay towing and disposal fees, they’ll park them on the side of the road and burn them out. There’s also car-theft joyrides that end in an abandoned and burnt out vehicles.
Other possibility is they were stuck in traffic and it overheated to the point it caught fire and they pulled over and fled it
All I know is that the guy’s stuck in his own logic loop being mystified that a grass fire couldn’t cause the car to burn that hot — even when he’s looking at evidence there wasn’t enough grass on that gravel shoulder to do much of anything.
Reverse the thinking from grass-fire-burns-car to burning-car-sets-off-grass-fire (which IS downwind, by the way) and I think one is on more plausible ground
Finally, if an arsonist wanted to initiate or supplement the fires at Lahaina that day, that’d be pretty good way to do it. Park a car just upwind from dry grass fields and set it on fire.

Several small fires along that access road separate from the big fires. Arson?
There do seem to be three or four big fires that look like there is a starting point (access road side) which spread out as they approached the sea.
Remember the winds. Coming down off of the mountains to the sea. Yet somehow, one source or four sources, they all spread, perpendicular to those winds, they all connected, gutting the town.

We had 40 acres beside Pike National Forest in Colorado w/three buildings on it, all built in the mid 1990s. When the forest caught fire in 2018, we lost all our land and two buildings. The Hot Shots and guys in the air saved our main cabin except the solar stuff was shot.
Our aluminum window trim etc melted into balls. All the glass, even in a wood stove melted. The stove didn’t melt. Beside the stove, only rebar was recognizable. Forest fire.

When I was little, I was a huge fan of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Fred Rogers always said when in a bad situation “Look for the helpers.” Yes, we have to look for the helpers and in every case possible, we have to BE the helpers.
Hi JWoo, I’ve told that story before. Years ago, after a particularly hard Saturday at work, I got home only to find a cow in the yard around the house. Keep in mind that our cows are semi wild, not people oriented at all. I thought, great, now I have to try and get that cow out and the only way without going over cattle guards is a narrow gate. Thee cow walked right next to me and loved on me for a while then followed me right through the gate. I felt much better. Later I figured out that it was Pretty Face who had lost her mama around birth and was hand raised.
To this day I am convinced that God directed her my way to comfort me. I had never seen her anywhere close to our house before.
Currently, there is another cow that our ranch guy hand raised. Very people friendly but it gets real interesting when you are at the shooting range trying to shoot and the cow wants to just hang out. 🙂

So therrrrrrre I wuz……
At the shooting range, along with several other folks on the line I didn’t know, everyone firing away. My jaw dropped when a couple of does and big fawns ambled 3/4 of the way across the range at about 150 yards. Took a moment for me to holler “CEASE FIRE!”.
The guys all looked at me like I had a snake on my head.
I just pointed out past where they were shooting so they could see the deer.
We all stood there talking about it for a minute, a couple of guys pointed out deer season was in a couple of weeks and started to go the direction of filling the freezer early and I pointed out that if a game warden drove by they’d lose their guns, trucks, and more.
Meanwhile, the deer lifted their heads from grazing, stamped at us and snorted a time or two, and went back to grazing.
So we all decided not to bother the deer and go back to shooting. I had to let them get past my target before I could shoot again.
I promise you, when season came in, they had checked the calendar and were nowhere to be seen.
I’m sorta guessing the cow would try that trick!
LOL! That’s like all the turkeys feeding at my deer feeders but come opening day they all vanish.
At our shooting range the cow like to rest under the trees right nest to the target area. I usually can shoo them off but the ones that have been hand raised like to stay and visit. And the shots don’t bother any cow at all.
Also, used to have a nice home made wooden shooting table with a bench. Very solid but not solid enough for the cows. They destroyed it scratching on it. 🙂

I’m still amazed the shots didn’t bug those deer. I was shooting a 30-06 and everyone else was shooting smaller caliber and closer in than me, but it was still a lot of noise. Now, make the slightest noise whatsoever on opening day and those same deer would turn inside out getting away!

Thank you for this, Bet 🙂 I was so blessed to have a “real” father. Sadly, my mom was always emotionally remote, embarrassed because she had a kid who didn’t work right. That wasn’t so at all with my dad. He loved me for what I was—warts and all.
It was my dad who agreed that I should spend that summer with Mrs. Cornelius who, at at 9, finally taught me to read. He taught me to fish, hunt, camp. Showed me how to use tools and how to shoot. Showed me how to take on bullies . . . But best of all, most importantly, he taught me how to be a man.

I think when we get to the ages we all are (in the same range at least) when we start looking back we see in our parents what we couldn’t when we were younger. I find I am doing a lot of reflecting, without a fishing pole in hand. And I am able to understand them as the people they were, with foibles and limitations. We all have those. And if I say I have been doing a lot of forgiving lately based on those reflections, I can only pray that by the time my own children reach my age, they will do the same. My wife grew up in NW Baltimore and had a friend who’d formerly lived in Forest Park whose older sister was a good friend of Ellen Cohen (aka Mama Cass / Cass Elliot), from when Ellen had attended Forest Park High School for a few years before leaving for NYC.
But Ellen returned in the early 60’s once or twice to visit with the friend and family that my wife also knew, so she had the opportunity to meet Ellen at that friend’s house a few times. Of course all that was before I had met my future wife…..
Ellen was honored by Mayor Schafer and the city in August of 1973 when they declared that day “Cass Elliot Day”.

When you think of the phrase “all the earth” what comes to mind? Many people may think only human beings are equipped to offer God worship, but there is much more to the earth than people!
Psalm 148 clarifies beautifully who and what “on Earth” is invited to join in a song of praise to their Creator: “Vapors high about the clouds… creatures of the ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey Him, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all livestock, small scurrying animals and birds, kings of the earth and all people, rulers and judges of the earth, young men and young women, old men, and children. Let them all praise the name of the LORD, for His name is very great. “ (Psalm 148:4, 7-13, NLT). This entire list makes noises that magnify the Creator God, and humanity often enjoys the sounds of nature as well.
Some may see Earth and its inhabitants as hopelessly lost, waiting soon to be destroyed. However, God repeatedly says in the Bible He will restore and redeem His people and His creation… all of it. His original plan to dwell on Earth with humankind is still on track. Redemption has been paid, the cleaning crew is at work, and soon sin and death will meet their end. And THAT is something to make a little noise about!
Pray God’s people in America will share the joyful good news of their salvation and that, as a result, many will join the chorus of the redeemed.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

You probably have noticed that the blog has been broken for weeks. The previous hosting service ran out of disk space and deleted tens of thousands of image files without my permission. They also failed to keep a backup of the site before deleting the images. Then they shut the blog down completely and sent me this message :

Red-breasted Nuthatch. Mostly seen in the fall & winter when they leave their mountain residences where they spend the Spring/Summers. I have seen them here and where I used to live. Nuthatches are the acrobats who climb head first down tree trunks & branches. They will also hit your sunflower seed/suet feeders also.

I have done some research of the Texas Rangers (law enforcement, not baseball). Some of the research turned up the fact that the Texas Rangers included Tejano Rangers as well as Indian Rangers (the Indian Rangers were Rangers, not Indian scouts, which the Rangers sometimes used Indian scouts). In fact I have a copy of the the Indian Rangers roll call or payroll list.
One of my searches turned up Polly. Living in Bandera County I immediately understand that was also dealing with Polly Peak. A community across Texas Highway 16 from where we live. As in Reverend Polly Rodriguez of the Methodist Church, Polly’s Fort (which was his home built for defense against Indian attacks), Polly’s School, and Polly’s Chapel.
It turns out that Jose Policarpo “Polly” Rodriguez was a Texas Ranger during The War of Northern Aggression (Yankees call it The Civil War). Polly was a guide for the United States Army before the war and did not want to war against his former employer so Texas assigned him to the Home Guard which was the Texas Rangers. It was Polly who laid every United States Army fort from Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio to Fort Bliss in El Paso
In doing more research on Polly I came across a PDF of his book;

In that book he tells about loosing the pistol that one of his childhood friends (Polly was born and raised in San Antonio de Bexar) had made for him when he had the swim across a deep river while going after an Army deserter in order to keep himself from drowning.
Later, when his friend found out what happened, he gave Polly a Nine-Shot revolver which Polly kept till his dying day. His childhood friend was a Black Smith, not a gun maker.

We called a friend who lives on Maui asking for an idea of where to help. She enthusiastically recommended King’s Cathedral over in Kahului. Their ‘sister’ church in Lahaina was destroyed.

We have donated just now to the church for starters.
Also, we asked our friend to explain what she knew about the black screening around Lahaina and why families aren’t allowed in. She said they are now allowing small groups to enter find their homes but the land has become toxic. The old buildings and homes were full of asbestos, many with lead paint. The homes used propane and the tanks exploded.
Her son in law was offered 50-60$ an hour to operate heavy machinery to clear rubble and has refused, says too dangerous.
According to our friend, FEMA is gone.
Having had a father and grandmother both who developed Alzheimer’s and succumbed with that disease made me acutely attune to conversations or comments when someone brings up that disease,
so when newly installed FJB made what appeared to be an offhand comment about the nation needing more nursing homes because of the coming increase in Alzheimer disease sufferers, my reaction was ‘what does he know we don’t know’ because that seemed such an odd statement.

Bessie…, I became aware of this possibility the first time I heard Dr Sherry Tenpenny speaking about every adverse effect we’ve seen so far which conclusions she arrived at by her outstanding analysis. But of course now her license has been suspended in Ohio for some made up administrative infraction. She is suing. I think medics are starting to get extremely nervous the more these horrendous outcomes can’t be hidden or covered up…and as they accelerate.
She was quite specific about neurological effects, including dementia and Alzheimer’s. She even gave the timeline we would most likely see…tragically she has not been wrong on any of her research and warnings.

As I write this there is a young red tailed hawk standing on the top of one of the lilac bushes near the feeder blocks. He’s obviously trying to get at the sparrows that are hiding in the bush. Don’t think he’ll be successful. If it was one of Steve’s barn cats I would run it off, but the hawk is a wild critter looking for a meal and I will let nature run it’s course.
I’m in a sorta spread out subdivision in the country, surrounded by farms. A guy down the street moved in and put up a chicken coop. Now he’s got several really cool looking chickens.
I went for a walk a couple of weeks ago only to see his birds all over the place. Knocked on the door to let him know his birds were out since we have coyotes and dogs and cats running around that might find his chickens……interesting.
He knew, he lets them out some in the evenings.
Ok, cool.
As I made it around the circle I saw five or six of them in a yard across the street from their home. All of a sudden I heard a screech and a young red tailed hawk lit on the house overlooking the chickens. All but the mid sized rooster ducked under stuff while the rooster and the hawk held a discussion about who was the baddest bird in the land.
I hung out for a bit in case I needed to intervene, not that I could have gotten there in time. Besides, it was some interesting trash talk going on between them.
At least it would have been a bit closer to a fair fight than your sparrows would have had.
