Nah, I think things have been this corrupt for a VERY LONG time, it’s just that now they have been exposed via their blatant actions against Trump, anyone who voted for Trump, and an alternative media that got the TRUTH out and they don’t care about being so blatant in their attempts to restore the previous situation.
My opinion is in this country we have taken our freedom for granted.
Additionally, we have had it so good that we became complacent

It is happening in some schools in this country– surprisingly with frequency in areas that I always thought were conservative.
Mass formation psychosis isn’t limited to the plandemic. People can be whipped into a frenzy over just about anything, and emotion devoid of logic will carry the day.
They are basically being taught to fight people who are hurting others, or so they are told. This puts them in a position of righteous indignation to right whatever wrongs they believe have been committed.
The problem is that those suffering from mass formation psychosis are whipped into attack mode, but there is no rhyme or reason to their ‘cause.’

This may sound ridiculous, but I’m reminded of the Kevin Bacon scene at the end of Animal House. Things clearly are falling apart, and yet he’s standing there, panic stricken and crazed, telling others to remain calm, that all is well. I believe that when things are going well for those in control, it’s easy for them to stay in the shadows. Things run themselves. But when things go awry, it becomes necessary to remind others of what they should be thinking, saying, and doing, by strict reminders and by and force. Perhaps I’m just an overreaching optimist, but I shall remain hopeful regardless that out of the shadows is a good thing.

When the powers that be decide to remove a traditional population in order to implement progressive policies, it has become almost futile to try to thwart them. I read something along these lines this week. The “save the planet” commies have convinced the greenies that cutting down trees is good for the planet.
In light building construction there’s long been a “greenie” trend to find ways to use less lumber without compromising structural integrity. Nothing wrong there, also saves money and allows more insulation.
But there now seems to be a greenie reversal of course. The article was telling builders it is now better to use more wood even if it costs more and compromises insulation. The (ir)rationalization is that the wood captures (sequestering) carbon from air – saving the planet.

I had a vacation long planned to an area hit hard by a hurricane. We went ahead as planned, less than two months after the storm had barreled through.
Although the storm had barely glanced the town we were staying in, it had become a staging area for nearby towns that were not so lucky. We saw streets lined with debris from the cleanup in those harder hit neighborhoods .
As soon as I saw all the devastation around us, I felt terribly out of place as a ‘tourist,’ or visitor, while others were so clearly in cleanup/ rebuild mode. Hotels and restaurants were virtually empty except to host the construction workers.
I had no idea things here were THAT bad!
But those whose livelihoods RELY on the TOURIST economy were so HAPPY to see us! Their eyes lit up everywhere we went! I think we were a glimpse of normalcy to remind them that, yes, this too shall pass.
With back-to-normal just around the corner.. the residents gratefully accepted our ‘tourist’ dollars, and we were humbled to witness the better part of humanity in action.

Before this fire, husband and I were about to commit to a trip over there for end of the year. We haven’t gone since early 2020 before all was shut down. Recently, we found we were over our ‘mad’ at Hawaii (c19 rules) and were ready to visit again.
Now, we don’t know if we’ll ever head back unless we can help w/o hindering.
Maui is a large island. The Lahania area is only a small part of it. Many locals lost their jobs because of the fire, but many locals work in other areas not effected by the fires and still need to work and that means they have to have visitors come to Maui.
I do not think Lahaina needs tourists at the present moment, they need more grassroots humanitarian efforts. (Btw, I do not mean these efforts should entirely come from the govt. Quite the contrary. ) These efforts are more effective when they come from within the populace and not from our governmental overlords. I find it quite telling that when Govt is overseeing everything barriers need to go up so that the world cannot see recovery, or how grassroots can further assist. Also interesting is how corporate efforts to assist are not visible. ( if they exist). There was a time in my life that companies such as Kimberly Clark an others would be all over flying in much needed supplies to assist in recovery, and broadcasting their efforts to the world.

He is a Maui resident that has fought a good fight and he explains what is needed. I believe him. I also have little hope that he will be heeded. To demonstrate its functionality, Fivecast promotional materials explain how the software was able to track social media posts and related Persons-of-Interest starting with just “basic bio details” from a New York Times Magazine article about members of the far-right paramilitary Boogaloo movement. 404 Media also obtained leaked audio of a Fivecast employee explaining how the tool could be used against trafficking networks or propaganda operations.
A few well-connected software companies will make billions of dollars implementing a system that basically won’t do any good. There is no actual “intelligence” in AI: it is simply a sophisticated and self tuning pattern-recognition facility. Garbage in = Garbage out.

You’ve said this repeatedly, but computer algorythms have caused a lot of censorship and hassle on social media (e.g. getting people banned because a Bible verse seems “violent”, and many other mistakes). There also is the huge problem of data collection and correlation, privacy-intrusive.

I saw him being interviewed the other day by Candice Owens and DCDraino.
They asked him about a supposed statement from his book where he bashes Trump for claiming 2020 election fraud.
He replied, did you read the book? They both said no, so he told them that he was referring to Stacy Abrams and her election fraud claims.
Well, I found the book and read the material in question, and I found Ramaswamy outright LIED.
He did open the chapter referring to Stacy Abrams, but about halfway through the chapter, he repeated the opening phrase and inserted Donald Trump, then proceeded to bash him for 2020.

U.S. Approves First-ever Defense Aid for Taiwan Under Sovereign State Program

SINGAPORE — The United States has authorized financial aid for the first-ever transfer of U.S. military equipment to Taiwan under a program usually meant for sovereign nations, based on a notification sent to Congress on August 29.
As part of the State Department’s foreign military financing (FMF) program, the package amounts to $80 million and will be paid for by U.S. taxpayers. The United States has hitherto sold weapons to Taiwan via a separate program known as Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
“FMF will be used to strengthen Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities through joint and combined defense capability and enhanced maritime domain awareness and maritime security capability,” the department indicated in its notification to Congress, CNN reported.
Besides, the letter sent to Congress stated that the sale could include a wide range of capabilities, such as air and coastal defense systems, ballistic missile defense, cyber defense, drones, military training, individual soldier protective gear, and ammunition. The fund might also be used to buy protective gear; a range of small, medium, and heavy weapons systems; ammunition; armored and infantry fighting vehicles; as well as training for Taiwanese military forces. That being said, it may take months or years for the military aid to reach Taiwan, as it will be part of future equipment purchased by the Pentagon.
Such a transfer would form part of the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act, which President Biden signed in December of last year, that authorizes up to $2 billion in direct loans to Taiwan for military uses.
The Associated Press reported that while the package was “modest” in amount, “the implications of using the so-called Foreign Military Financing program to provide it will likely infuriate China.”
“FMF simply enables eligible partner nations to purchase US defense articles, services, and training through either Foreign Military Sales or, for a limited number of countries, through the foreign military financing of direct commercial contracts program,” AP cited two unnamed U.S. officials as saying.
The language used in the aid “implied that Taiwan is or could be compared to a ‘nation’ or a ‘country,’” AP said, pointing out that the only other time the United States has offered military aid under the FMF to a non-nation-state was to the African Union.
The package followed the military assistance of $345 million provided by the United States to Taiwan in July through the Presidential Drawdown Authority that the U.S. Congress authorized last year and the $500 million arms sale package, which includes F-16 Infrared Search and Track systems, to the nation earlier this month.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense expressed their gratitude to the United States for helping Taiwan boost its self-defense capabilities.
A State Department spokesperson also authenticated the transfer.
“Consistent with the Taiwan Relations Act and our longstanding one China policy, which has not changed, the United States makes available to Taiwan defense articles and services necessary to enable it to maintain a sufficient self-defense capability,” the spokesperson said in a statement to CNN. “The United States has an abiding interest in peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, which is critical to regional and global security and prosperity.”
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) welcomed the approval.
