I think that being hired or a contractor would also be covered since Presidential power includes using outside experts as long as they were in futherance the executives agenda.
While POTUS is engaged in his unique, constitutional duty to enforce adherence to the Constitution in general elections throughout the 50 states, any who aid him in that endeavor, federal official or not, must be tried in federal court with the case in chief.
The major issue in controversy here is whether POTUS DOES OR DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE COMPLIANCE WITH ART. IV, SECS. 2 and 4, and AMENDMENT 14, SEC. 1 of the Constitution in regard to all 50 states.
ART. 4, SEC. 4 states specifically that: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government…”
The hallmark of a Republican form of government has to be the existence of properly regulated elections that are free and fair and that do not disenfranchise voters.
Amendment 14, Sec. 1 states in relevant part: “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States…”
If election laws are selectively enforced, or otherwise disregarded, to the detriment of some voters but to the clear benefit of others, does this satisfy constitutional guarantees? And if not, what possible legal jurisdiction has the constitutional authority to restrain POTUS’PREROGATIVES IN HIS UNIQUE PRESIDENTIAL ENFORCEMENT DUTIES, OR TO PRESUME THAT SOME ACTIVITIES ARE PROPER AND OTHERS NOT??
I have often commented that Justice Roberts would never release his papers detailing investigations of SCOTUS leaks. And that Nancy Pelosi would never release her J6 papers. Why? Because no coequal branch can enforce orders imposed on the other branches unless privileges are waived.
And here, in this case, no court has jurisdiction over presidential prerogatives, or, for that matter, over any of the prerogatives of the other branches.
To date, no evidence has been adduced that any action taken by POTUS was illegal; all we have is bald-faced assertions.
This makes this case one of the most notoriously egregious in the history of the US jurisprudence.
The judiciary must therefore treat it as such or lose all credibility, for if it isn’t treated as such, I predict, for what it is worth, that the Constitution, as a revered entity, will crumble, along with America itself, into a million pieces, a dire prediction I pray never comes about.
Absolutely correct! If a county DA can overrule the power of the Office of the President then the third branch of the Federal Government has been rendered powerless! How can the Supreme Court allow that and expect the federal government to function?
Someone also pointed out that if the case gets moved to Federal court….SCOTUS Justice Thomas oversees the fed circuit and can expedite stays if necessary.

I THINK we might see an effort by Willis to sever out some defendants late today or maybe even tomorrow thinking that if they are served into their own separate cases, those cases can remain in state court and not be moved.
Once it goes to federal court, severance rules become much more restrictive, although once the case is in federal court it might be the case that some of the defendants will want to be severed from the larger case. But normally the Govt doesn’t want to present the same evidence in multiple cases where the same witnesses will be subjected to multiple cross-examinations when the defense has their prior testimony under oath in a transcript.

In many jurisdictions the defendant can address the grand jury. I know it’s done in New York.
That’s an important difference. Depending on the jurisdiction, a defendant can ADDRESS (as in make a speech to, NOT speak WITH individual jurors) the assembled grand jury. In any case, Chesebro has not filed any such motion. His LAWYERS want permission to ask the jurors whether they read the whole indictment, or only a summary. That’s the motion, not to have Chesebro talk to or with them:

But this is going on in every town. ‘Luxury’ apartments complete with big banners out front showing happy shiny working 20 somethings. Who could hate that? Nah. Asylum seekers are ineligible for Section 8 and all similar rental-assistance programs until AFTER they have achieved permanent resident status (green card). They can’t just show up and sign up for that kind of benefit while awaiting hearings on their refugee status. They have to have completed the process successfully, and it can take years.
(I was a file clerk in the Section 8 office at the Los Angeles Housing Authority when in between jobs. Huge rooms with long cabinets full of contracts. Twenty phones ringing constantly all day. I wore earplugs to preserve my sanity.)

Mikey, why do you think the locals are hell raising in Chicago? The refugees are jumping the Section 8 line. Do you know how many hotels in this country are full of people living the life of luxury and Section 8 is paying all that? I think I read at one of the hotels in New York the cost to feed one refugee was $500 a day. And you know they’re feeding them beans and rice and chicken. It’s a business that’s overwhelmingly large. And every Hotel company is cleaning up.

I have seen with my own eyes the kind of hotels and apartments leased through the rental assistance programs in Los Angeles. Section 8 uses abatement constantly, cutting off the checks to the slumlords to force them to fix basic stuff like toilets. Housing inspectors use concealed-carry permits, or gang members who have been paid “protection” by the landlords will harass and threaten them. Many have been beaten or shot. It’s the graphic opposite of a life of luxury.

It has been almost 3 months since the launch of Ukraine’s long anticipated counter-offensive which many “experts” claimed would be the fatal blow that would remove Russian forces from the country altogether. The initial action gained little; around 90 square miles of territory in June and a handful of villages, and at great cost. There are no accurate casualty reports for Ukraine, which is by design, but estimates suggest that the nation’s military has doubled its number of dead since the counter offensive began.
Official numbers from the DoD claim that Ukraine has lost over 100,000 troops since the beginning of the conflict (almost double the amount of US dead during the entirety of the Vietnam War). Other estimates are far higher.
Foreign fighters back from the front lines report a mismanaged and chaotic Ukrainian military using ill conceived tactics. Some say that the units they were assigned to have lost 80% or more of their men in recent months. Ukraine military leadership has also been misusing their fleet of tanks and armored vehicles from NATO, sending them ‘straight into mine fields’ in some cases. As volunteers note, the Ukrainians were given training on how to operate the vehicles, but no training on how to use them effectively in a fight.

Russian losses tapered off over the month of August to the point they’re now hardly worse than American ones at the height of the Iraq War.
This suggests the AFU is beginning to collapse.
First of all the bottom line – Mediazona has confirmed a mere 133 Russian military deaths in the first three weeks of August (their data only goes to August 23rd right now). This is on top of a long-term downward trend in Russian casualties since the winter.
Mediazona’s total count is slightly over 30,000 for the entire war right now.
How do I know it’s accurate? Russian admissions. Recently Gen. Teplinsky, head of the VDV, stated that 8500 Russian paratroopers had been wounded and returned to duty over the course of the war.
Mediazona has 1,898 VDV soldiers confirmed as having been killed in action in Ukraine.
In Vietnam, the US suffered 58,000 dead and some 300,000 wounded, half of whom were not hospitalized.
As such the KIA-WIA/RTD ratio seems quite similar between the two wars, which is logical.
So there’s no reason to believe there’s some huge pool of extra Russian casualties out there. If there is, the Russian high command doesn’t seem to know about them.
Ukraine appears to be quite unique in having gone into military collapse on the -offensive- due to political considerations and Russia playing into those considerations.
In that case I’d expect a somewhat different effect – a huge drop in opposing-force casualties and few gains.
This makes logical sense for a force that is herding poorly-trained and unfit conscripts into attacks – they’re going to die in huge numbers and accomplish nothing.
That’s precisely what we’ve seen in Ukraine over the last four months of the “Great Counteroffensive.”
By the month of August, the purpose-built and trained formations Ukraine had assembled for the counteroffensive had been ground down into shadows of their former selves and reconstituted with press-ganged conscripts – but were still attacking.
his precipitous decline in the quality of Ukrainian manpower is confirmed by secondary sources. Just as an example, a 71 year-old Ukrainian soldier recently reported for training in Germany.

A Dire Warning: The US Plan To Make Ukraine Into Europe’s ‘Big Israel’

In his famous anti-Vietnam War speech, the late senator from South Dakota George McGovern told fellow Congressional leaders, “This chamber reeks of blood.” On Saturday, journalist Max Blumenthal opened a hard-hitting talk at the Ron Paul Institute’s “Which Way America…?” conference in D.C. by quoting those words, but applied them to the US proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
Blumenthal said that in Ukraine, Washington continues “wasting the lives and bodies of over 150,000 men, and that’s according to the Pentagon.” Citing recent studies on the immense numbers of Ukrainians who have lost limbs after a year-and-a-half of fighting (which could be surpassing WWI rates), he said the true Ukraine casualty count could be closer to 500,000 – which marks a monumental tragedy and disaster.
The GrayZone journalist then said of today’s Congress that “this chamber” not only “reeks of blood” but.. “they have wasted Ukrainian society on the mantle of anti-Russia hysteria” – as lawmakers in lockstep with the Biden administration continue to sink billions into Kiev.
Beltway liberal elites, Blumenthal asserted, still think Russia must be punished given they see Moscow as having brought the “bad orange man” to power in 2016. This is a big ideological aspect to what motivates the hawks, he said.
Further, Blumenthal explained that what’s happening here is that the US ruling class has “militarized the culture wars while depicting Ukraine as the ‘woke side’ vs. Russia as backwards and oppressive.”
But more importantly, the real “victors” are the major US defense contractors and their appendages like the K street neocon lobbying firms. Blumenthal highlighted that these, and the Biden administration, are operating with the bigger vision in mind of turning Ukraine into Europe’s “big Israel”.
By this is meant a permanently militarized ‘Spartan’ wartime state, which is funded and weaponized by Washington in perpetuity, and possesses all the latest cutting edge Western defense tech. But like with the state of things long evident inside Israel (in particular oppression of both Palestinians and Israeli political dissenters), democracy must be eroded at home for this to happen. Still, the defense tech peddlers in the military-industrial complex will ‘win’ no matter how much Ukrainian society and its people are sacrificed.
“In order to defend democracy in Ukraine, democracy must be curtailed at home,” Blumenthal emphasized, drawing lessons from current examples of oppression of free speech in the West, particularly related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Blumenthal continued… but “now Russia has no incentive to negotiate” given they have the clear military momentum amid a failing Ukraine counteroffensive. The US and UK likely had a window of opportunity in the initial months of the war to more easily open up serious diplomatic peace negotiations, but this was actively thwarted.
“We cannot have peace negotiations while war is being incentivized [by Washington interests] to this point,” he continued while also referencing neocons like Bill Kristol, who has been leading a charge to silence any dissenting views from among Republican nominees and politicians on Ukraine.
On this question of whether negotiations are possible even from Kiev’s perspective, Zero Hedge asked Blumenthal what he thinks would happen in the unlikely scenario that Zelensky himself suddenly pursued peace talks with the Russians. Blumenthal responded as follows:
“If Zelensky were to pursue peace talks now before he’s re-elected… due to the kind of social forces that have been unleashed by Maidan, he will face a far-right Nazi insurgency in his own country, and he will become public enemy number one among some of the most violent and militarized forces.
…Which is why he went and met with Andriy Biletsky, the founder of Azov. Zelensky was elected on a platform of peace by 73% of the population because you still had the ethnic Russian population participating in Ukrainian society. They have been completely driven out and the constituency he’s working with is completely different now.”
Turning Ukraine into “a big Israel” will involve long-term funding to shape and place “America’s unsinkable aircraft carrier not in the Middle East but in Europe,” Blumenthal said.
But as Ukrainians continue to be slaughtered, it won’t be a happy situation for a country to become a “big Israel”, Blumenthal concluded.
