Fortunately, with some remarkably adroit on-line assistance at TD Ameritrade and Schwab I got the critical stuff done without screwing up. Rreally, that on-line help was enormously helpful. Whew. Glad it’s completed!
So glad your “figurin'” is done with no issues. You are probably right. Sometimes, most times even, I shut my eyes and drift off. But these days (or nights) the brain is not in sync with the bod. Good morning again Bet! I think that the last couple of days that lack of sleep has to do with the moon being especially big and bright. I’m glad I am retired. I’ve noticed that over the years, not every month but several times a year during the full moon people would act weirder and pets with epilepsy would have an episode. Yesterday a Spectrum salesman showed up at our door trying to convert us from our internet company to them.
And at the outset I will say bless him for taking a horrible job instead of not working. He was cheerful and polite and gung ho, something not easy to be knocking on doors.
But as Chris was saying no thank you, this young man made the terrible mistake of starting g his next sentence with “The government wants……..”
And that’s as far as he got.
Because Chris said to him that he didn’t care what the government wanted. They could “Unprintable”.
I felt so sorry for this happy lad because he said, “No, I don’t either” and laughed.
But once that button was pushed there was no un-pushing it.
Ah well….maybe a lesson in what not to say was learned yesterday. I hope so, and I wish him all the good fortune that can come his way🙏🏻

What terrifies The Left (along with the GOP/e) is Trump’s message. All he has to do is keep talking about what is so obviously coming next. There is so much that is simply not being said. So much that has been deliberately kept from the public.
A good example is just why since Biden’s taking office he’s intentionally opened our borders? What’s happening in NYC and other big cities is an entirely predictable result. Why has our political class allowed this to happen? One answer is that none of this is accidental. Neither, for that matter, is the urban crime that is destroying our cities. This is predictable when we have soft-on-crime prosecutors. In LA you can effectively steal all you can carry without worry of being caught and prosceuted. Why?
I think what we’ve been seeing since ’21 is a deliberate application of Frankfurt School Critical Theory. In the “Long March Through The Institutions”, the first revolutionary step is the destruction of the social institutions that hold society together. Destroy them and people’s faith in the stability of normal life, their trust in their government and, eventually, their trust in their neighborhoods and even their neighborhoods.
It’s not hard to see how this has happened. It’s very hard to ignore and in Donald J. Trump we have the kind of political assassin minded man who understands perfectly well what’s coming and—most importantly—how to combat these changes.
This is why Trump terrifies the left, why they are doing everything they can to derail his chances of becoming president. My prediction? They’re going to fail. Like it or not, Trump has his political opponents on his own personal playing field. They have to play by his rules. They may not know this but, rest assured, he definitely knows this. GO TRUMP! We are now seeing liberal leaders such as NYC Mayor Adams openly complaining about the immigration crisis in their “sanctuary” cities… however, the TELLING part is the “solution” they seek. They do NOT want the border closed or even “managed”… they simply demand that they be given MORE MONEY to deal with the immigrants.
And tellingly, none, of the American media has directly asked the Biden admin to explain why our borders are open nor have they asked exactly why our oil reserves are not being exploited when we hare potentially the largest and most pure oil reserves in the world.

I think that Peter was chosen to be first among the apostles for many important reasons; and not the least being, that the Lord had set him as an example for the others, (us included), to follow. Some might suppose that it was some natural attributes, which particularly fitted him to what the Lord had called him. This being so; and the fact that the Lord knew all of us before He formed us in the womb; then it must be all of His design, to make of each of us, as He thinks best. But even in that, Peter was not an already finished product from the beginning, but the raw material; and God Himself had the Pattern Himself, of how he was to be made.
It would take a longer time to talk about all the many references to Peter’s place of representation among the disciples; and we hope to be able eventually to give them all due attention; only not for today’s lesson. But that much being said, let us look at the immediate lesson in front of us.
Obviously, inasmuch as Peter had publicly denied the Lord three times, now upon his having been converted and restored, it was fitting for him, and he was obliged to the Lord Jesus, to make amends. In this we are shown plainly, that along with repentance is necessarily the acceptance of one’s punishment fitting the crime. It was the kindness and compassion of the Lord for His friend, that he should do so apart from the crowds, with only his brothers in the Lord to bear witness. And this, not only for making right a past wrong, but indeed for further solidifying and confirming the holy calling that had been upon him the whole time.
The Lord Jesus Christ was on a singular course, the entire time He was here, and never deviated or missed the mark, all His days. And while there is no shortage of voices in the world; (and especially loud and aggressive in the Christian rooms;) telling us that we are not Jesus, and that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; Jesus Himself knows what it really means to be Man, even as He knows also of what He has made us, and what we are capable of, with proper care and guidance.
Many consider themselves well meaning, good intentioned, and devout and honest Christians; but are all too ready to simply accept past (or present) weakness, stupidity, and poor judgment, to be an irreversible and permanent condition. But in so believing, they are unwittingly denying the power of God in their salvation, and have not understood His purposes in our trials and temptations. For they are obviously NOT for shaming us and proving how worthless we are, and then leaving us in that miserable state of mind; but completely the contrary, for giving us the opportunity to prove the sincerity of our love, and what we really are made of, by keeping His commandments! The purpose of putting the gold and silver and bronze and iron into the heat of the furnace, is to purify and strengthen it, for it to hold its integrity while expelling the impurities.
The Lord here bringing out the good confession from Peter, was painful for Peter to go through; but it was for his healing, and for confirming that he was NOT that other guy; but indeed the friend of Jesus, and the caretaker of His flocks. And out of this would come, not only his place among the brethren; but also would indeed prepare him to make the ultimate sacrifice, and proof of his affection and loyalty to Jesus. Jesus had given Simon the name, “Stone” or “Rock” (Hebrew, Cephas; Greek, Petros) from their first meeting. Now, was Peter in actuality, much closer to what the Lord saw in him, when he was still a good way off. I think we should all be able to take some much needed comfort from this, with regards to all the way the Lord has brought us; and has not quit on us.
Finally, what the Lord has begun, He will finish, and bring to perfection. All that He has started, in saving us from our sins, and giving us this “like precious faith,” and the same calling and election as the prophets and saints of old; He will complete! All that Jesus has been teaching us; with an eye to the wonderful happiness and victory and peace and glory to come; we will come to know as a fact done in us.
Isaiah 28:10 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” that vision which we were given from the beginning, but could hardly make out, even just a feeling of a glimpse of something as high as God, and just as out of sight, and beyond our understanding; we will be made into that Christian, that prophet and saint, that wise and understanding, that good and faithful servant, worthy of our Master and Savior Jesus Christ. Those things which we trembled at in wonder, and do not desire to do; we will be made willing and able to do, and we will glorify God.
So then, the last word about us, and our having passed through this life; will nothing justify the devil’s slanders and accusations, that we should be permanent failures and untrustworthy traitors, or irrecoverable; but we will be the witnesses of the true grace of God, and glory forever of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember what it means to be an American…

Talked to the Contractor yesterday. He is going to come see me late this afternoon. Will be giving a bid on the gable I want to add to the front of the garage to provide open sided overhang cover over the 10′ concrete apron. It will have a ceiling in it of course. Otherwise the birds will nest in it a crap all over everything below.
My neighbor Steve happened to have a friend drop off 4 used 4″ aluminum tube columns at his place. He is saving them for me. They have feet but are only 8′ long and notched 4″ deep for a 2″ wide board to sit in them. The height of the overhanging gable will be 10′. So to use them the contractor will pour concrete columns 2’4″ high in sonotube forms and the aluminum columns will be mounted on top of those and held in place by 4 anchor bolts mounted on a steel plate buried in the concrete . Pattern of bolts to fit the 4 holes in the existing feet of the columns. Nice looking columns that I will just have to paint to match the siding. The columns are anodized so that will help prevent electrolysis between the aluminum and steel that would cause the aluminum to corrode.
Other details to deal with today also. Overhang or no over hang, this thing is going to get done this year. And that means I have to get busy on cutting down and taking out that 80′ dead spruce in my side yard real soon. It needs to be gone because it will be too close to the end of the garage if wait until after the garage is built.
Trying to get the cost up to the Bay Area’s $350.00/sq.ft. cost for garage additions? 😬😜
Contractor came out and white lined the layout for both the sunroom and garage with 10′ apron. The aluminum columns are too light to use. The columns will be 6 x 6s wrapped in steel. He says it always looks bigger when you white line the layout and then when you frame it, it starts looking smaller.

To meet the labor needs of sheep ranchers across the west U.S. Senator Patrick McCarran, for whom McCarran Airport in Las Vegas is named, introduced a series of bills called the Sheepherder Laws.
McCarran introduced bills to grant residency to Basque shepherds to the U.S. He stated that “Unless skilled and competent sheepherders are promptly made available it will be necessary for the herds to be progressively reduced.”
The Basque sheepherders were considered immigrants with special skills and given preference for admission into the U.S. with permanent residency.
By 1954, the legislation introduced by McCarran had allowed over 1,100 Basque sheepherders to enter the country and obtain work in the western sheep industry.

I met a huge flock of sheep back in ’77…in Idaho, too…they are an interesting animal.
I was born and raised near Bakersfield, CA The Basque herders could be seen all around the open spaces around Bakersfield. Better yet were the many Basque restaurants! Best lamb ever. And the pickled tongue was to die for.

Human beings take delight in many things – family, music, sports, camping, or watching TV or movies. None of these are bad in themselves, but it is wise to regularly take stock of the value you place on what delights you the most.
God’s instructions in Psalm 37 lay a foundation for your daily life. He especially wants you to know that if you delight in Him, He will “give you the desires of your heart” (today’s verse). As a believer, you have two natures, the carnal and sinful and the spiritual and pure.
The Holy Spirit within you is ready to shape your desires to be in harmony with those of your precious Lord. However, you have to be a willing participant in this transformation by spending time in His Word and in prayer.
The value King David placed in God’s Word is evident in Psalm 119, “If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction” (v. 92). And again, “I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold” (v. 127). To delight in God is to want to know Him by delving into what He has to say.
It is placing the highest value on Him and His Word. This devotion and discipline will align your desires with His desires for you. “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10b).
Let becoming more Christlike be your purpose and giving God the glory due Him be your goal. You can be an example to those around you of the joy it is to delight in Him, encouraging them to experience the same.
Pray that the leaders of this nation turn to God and delight in Him. Intercede for them to find Christ and the abundant joy He offers.

I must say, Poyeema, that I am very surprised,and disappointed, that you would subscribe to that lie from the devil! How can the Lord Jesus Christ, the Stronger Man, have bound the devil and cast him out, and still has to share the house with him? What gospel do you believe? The Biblical version where the Son of God came in the flesh, and has redeemed us to God by His blood? Or the modern doctrine of the devil, that fantasizes some kind of Jesus being Lord of your life, but with no power to save you REALLY from sin? We do not have two natures. That is a lie from the devil.

If we were still in the sin nature, we would still be under the law; but Christ has made us free from the law of sin and death, by making us free from the sin nature. Otherwise, why did He rise from the dead, after having died for our sins; if there was no power meant for our being freed from sin?
Do you remember the part, where the disciples asked the Lord, Who then can be saved? What did the Lord answer them? “With men this is impossible; but not with God: for with God, ALL THINGS SHALL BE POSSIBLE.” And remember what Paul wrote in 2 Timothy chapter three, with the long list of evil and wicked nature, characteristic of the last days, when “perilous times shall come.” At the completion of that list is, “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof; from such turn away (withdraw yourself). For of this kind are they that creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins . . .” These are not born again believers, but the many misled in a spurious conversion, DEVOID OF GRACE, and NOT partakers of the divine nature.
Let every man take heed what he hears; and believe not every spirit: but prove the spirits, whether they are of God.

You have made an error in apparently not realizing this.
Normally I would not address your accusatory statement. But I can’t let this pass. If you feel any disappointment or surprise, perhaps you will get in touch with that Team and express it to them rather than to Poyeema whose words they were not.
Perhaps this is a good opportunity to learn. I personally try to refrain from “arguing” with another believers and hopefully truth seekers viewpoint or understanding, especially now during what I believe is “our darkest hours”. My hope and prayer is that ALL of us who seek the one true God, His commandments, instruction and mercy in allowing us to come closer (despite our many flaws and obvious lackings.) will eventually unite in our common goal of living and being as close to Godliness as we are able. We will never achieve this by division.
While I agree with Michael to a point, the verse from Ezekiel 18:24 clearly expresses the possibility of the righteous “falling” “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.”
Now, I’d like to try connect the “meaning” (in my understanding) to the verse Deut 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;”
We (man) are given a unique “power” not even the Angles are allowed – free choice. Now this not the free choice as it has been twisted to mean – I can do whatever the hell I want – absolutely not. The “choose” (free choice) as expressed in the verse indicates to us that in every single moment – every s i n g l e moment we have the “choice” to choose life/right or death/wrong. God recommends us to choose life (the power of choice still remains). We only need look around us, from ourselves and our own choices, to that of our communities and nations too see the result of what happens and will happen if we choose to ignore His word, advise, commandments, and wisdom.
It wasn’t the devotional itself he wrote his take of which I was addressing, Oldspeak, but rather the tone he took in his misattribution.
It was that he assumed that the text in the “Presidential Prayer Team’s” post, their words, were personally written by Poyeema…which they weren’t. And which drew his censorious disapproval.
I am not putting an opinion in one way or another as I am not qualified to do so. “Arguing” is not something I will engage in.
I was merely pointing out that his attribution of those words to her was mistaken. And as such his “disapproval” of her as if she had written what someone else did was wrong and unfortunate.
That is all.

I was not behaving unseemly or rude; and I was not attacking anyone personally. But this is a HUGE problem with many, many Christians today; that they are taught NOT to receive correction or to judge righteous judgment among themselves, to guard each other and the house of God from error and sin.
The “much needed conversation” is the one that you are ALL fighting against having! I am here now; give your arguments, let us reason together as brothers and sisters.
And the thing about “when someone believes that they are the actual source . . .” the Lord knows that is simply not true. The source is His own words, and His Holy Spirit convicting of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
“He that receives you, receives Me, and he that receives Me, receives Him that sent Me.” If you won’t hear it from the least of His disciples; what makes you think you are hearing Him at all?

Miss Betsy, if you read my post you will see, that I was not attacking Poyeema, nor did I think that she wrote it. I do not “disapprove” of my sister. The censor was just against false teaching; which I know she did not write; but she posted it; which I was taking account of for her welfare! The only one wrongly censoring, and attacking here, is you and Della; interfering into something you apparently don’t understand.
I very often tried to speak to Stevie, for quite a while, about the things she was posting; and you always interfered and resisted what the Lord was saying, thinking to shield your dear sister from something that was sent to her for a reason.
What are you going to do, when the Lord takes an account of this kind of behavior, of always turning people away from His correction?
I sincerely hope you will think about this in these terms, and stop doing it. If you have an issue with me personally, or with the accuracy of what I write; TALK TO ME! This is a generation that is an enemy of the cross of Christ: they despise the offence of its implications to their true condition, and they fear to take it up themselves, for becoming laughing stocks among this most wicked and perverted and unclean time.
Read again the calling of Jeremiah the prophet; and think about Why the LORD made him so for those people, and for that time. When the house is on fire, you do not start tucking the children in and softly singing lullaby; but you move with fear to save them from the burning structure! What is really to scream about, and tear the clothes, and pluck off the hair of the head and beard, is that they refuse to recognize the danger, and just want to stay asleep and dream!

And that these things were written by the “Presidential Prayer team,” is of zero importance, when they write things contrary to the teachings of the Scriptures and the truth of Christ coming in the flesh.
This is most definitely an accusation and condemnation! You are right: but what you consistently fail to understand, is that it is the Lord who is correcting through His own words. And you are always running behind, and trying to “shield” the ones whom the Lord is speaking to, from hearing His corrections. What kind of position does that put you in?
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Mark 8:38 “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
How do you think there will be so many, whom the Lord WILL NOT KNOW, in that day? Because they were of the truth and were willing to humble themselves and receive His word in a good and honest heart? I think not. But if someone has the habit of continually refusing His words, His instructions, His warnings, His reproofs and correction; then it will happen to them, that they will have deceived themselves; and their hypocrisy shall find them out.
If I’m not speaking according to the Scriptures, or the mind of the Spirit, show me. Otherwise, if its only an unteachable and rebellious mind, that doesn’t want its evil exposed; then steps should be taken to address that, before coming to the Judge.
Let me be an accuser; the Lord knows if I’m seeking your good, or finding fault.
The over all theme of this”Presidential” post, blurs the vision of the very Text taken. we are not here to be happy and to get the desires of our heart, in the sense that is conveyed; for it seems to be taken out of context from all the rest of Psalm 37; which is, the faith and meekness and patience of the righteous, bearing up under the wickedness, cruelty and malice of the children of this age, who TAKE their portion in life. But our Portion is the LORD, and the world to come!
As afar as the LIE that we have “two natures,” when the Son of man sows His good seed in the world; are they part wheat and part tares? When the great net is cast into the sea, and gathers of every kind; are they all good and bad? Or are the good saved, and the bad cast away?
The time will come . . . HAS COME, when they will no longer endure sound doctrine, and will turn away from hearing the truth; and will heap to themselves teachers after their own desires for what is forbidden, with itching ears! We know that the day is at hand, for the man of sin to be revealed, by the great falling away that is now in the world. Just like in Genesis 6; the failure of the children of God, is causing the whole world to corrupt and be filled with violence; while they run every man to his own things, and have forsaken the LORD; while convincing themselves that they are serving Him! Horrifying and astonishing! The trumpet is sounding, but no one goes to the battle, or even believes the alarm of war! Why? because God has judged them so; but they will not repent!

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

This week has been not just a challenge for me

Rewrites and mistakes I must make right
Why am I flustered and oh so uptight?
I had to stop the panic – get my head on straight
To be done and completed – I just could not wait
In all the anxiety – I forgot one important thing
I had not remembered – I was under Your wing.
All the sources I amassed for my work
The one high above all I must not shirk
It was You, Sweet Jesus – I left behind
Have I lost my edge – misplaced my mind?
I stopped what I was doing to take quick stock
My website – went awry – it really did not rock
Of course without help – what could I expect
I must go to my rock and get it all checked.
I stopped again – remembered her advice
I must pray – and ask – if I have to – twice
I must trust in God – with all of my heart
Lean not on myself – right from the start.
Help me, Lord – I prayed heartedly out loud

Sept 1 is the first day of Spring in Australia. I’m very much looking forward to some nice warm weather, now that winter is finished.
And this Sunday is father’s day for us. I will hit the road tomorrow and then stay overnight with my parents – Saturday/Sunday. I also got a few locally grown tomatoes for them to try.

My friend sent me an article about Queensland allowing the unvaccinated to return to healthcare jobs. Those who were fired will now have to apply for a job rather than just resume their old position.
I don’t live in that state, and I don’t want to go back to my old field. But I’m still unimpressed with what’s happening.

A video on art and masculinity. Art is not an American male priority. With our focus on responsibility and practicality, art might seem frivolous. It’s considered a hobby, therapy, good for the kids. We have little sense of its potential power.
It’s a tragedy, Richard, that such beauty has been degraded and regarded as passé. The late Professor Sir Roger Scruton had much to about this and the diminution of our spirits which thirst for it. Alas, given what passes for “art” today, as with the appalling architecture we have to live with, ensures we are going to be in a desert for a long time.
Art is not frivolous. That men have contributed to treasures of long ago is inconsequential, except to those who are doing their worst in trying to obliterate men altogether. Which in my view is the bigger tragedy for humanity’s continuing existence.

Orchard oriole. I was lucky enough to have a pair of them occasionally nest at my old house, and one Spring even found their nest hanging in a Spruce branch right near my fence. 2 pairs of Baltimore Orioles nested every year and a few years a pair of Orchard’s, which would fight with the Baltimore’s. They are very rare where I am now, so haven’t seen them in a long time

Don’t feel bad; I’ve in and around Baltimore the majority of my life and have NEVER seen a Baltimore oriole bird depite having bird feeders year round. For several years we tried an oriole feeder with fresh orange halves and the special fruit jelly made for birds, plus dried mealworms….but to no avail. We get hummingbirds, and a wide variety of “backyard birds” common to my eastern mid-Atlantic area, but no orioles.

I was blessed. I would look for the male to come singing to set up his territory usually in the Sycamore tree in my neighbor’s backyard every year around April 15th. There was another pair a few houses down the street. They never failed to return every year I lived there. Other birds came and went nesting, like Kingbirds, Red-wing Blackbirds, Orchard orioles, Catbirds etc etc but they were constant. How lucky I was. I miss their beautiful song and incredible beauty.
My cousin loved the Baltimore Orioles baseball team. He was in their minor league system, he was quite good.

What does it all mean?
We rescued many a bee when we were in Wales. They were large, beautiful, and essential. Doing so was one of the most wonderful experiences in my life.
Way late, since I catch up when I get into town where there’s internet.
This summer we had bees on the sunflowers, and I noticed bees that wouldn’t move. I saw one that was dead and it had a large yellow lump growing out of it, and I realized they had a zombie fungus. It makes them land on the sunflower and then die, and the fungus puts out its spores and gets them on other bees. So until the sunflowers stopped flowering I washed off all the dying and dead bees when I went to water first thing in the morning. I hope I saved a few.
