In 1971 Sandusky was hired as a coach at Penn State. In 1976 Paterno was made aware of sexual abuse charges. The Justice Department argues that SpaceX unlawfully denied employment to asylees and refugees based on the company’s interpretation of export control regulations that limit access to controlled items to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. The suit includes several comments from SpaceX officials, including Chief Executive Elon Musk, stating that it could only hire citizens and “green card” holders in order to comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which governs launch vehicle and other space components. Those regulations often include severe penalties for any violations.
However, the Justice Department noted that asylees and refugees are also considered “U.S. persons” under ITAR and other export control regulations, and can be treated like citizens and permanent residents in that they do not need authorization to handle export-controlled items. Last summer attended a once a year service in an old historic church in a rural area of a blue state–episcopal. It was just after the Dobbs decision. The white female deacon was ranting about how terrible it was that abortion was going to be denied and it was another affront to “womens rights”. Our neighbor that was with us stood up and said “This is wrong” and marched out with us following right behind. Sad.

I was born, and believe still am a Christian.
IMO I was fortunate in never having attended a church since very early childhood, and as best as I remember that was only a handful of times.
My intuition sensed that something was “off” and our grandparents that raised us “ God Fearing” non church going folks never insisted we kids attend.
My career ensured that I had dealings with many churches, and other places of worship.
I had the experience of working the Popes visit to Vancouver B.C. in the early eighties.
The enthusiasm for his visit was electric and those in the crowds that lined the street were delightful, and a pleasure to be around.
Whether it be a church, temple, or synagogue ( my career took me into many of them)
Politics, money, ego, and yes some ugliness were evident.
I still pray everyday, give thanks and attempt to be grateful as the day unfolds.
However institutions are institutions.
My God is everywhere.

President Trump is the one who cut the cake and revealed all the rot and corruption. Last night, in Fulton County and especially with President Trump’s mug shot, the era of pretending came to an end. Many of our founding fathers warned us that if those that we elected (or more and more selected) had no moral base, then our Republic would fail. We are there.
Is this cause for weeping maybe, maybe not. Our founding document, our GOD given constitution is still there. The Constitution that was put in place to control government and not citizens. The Constitution that recognizes that all of our liberties and freedoms are from GOD, not man. Our education system has turned this on its head along with a lot of our churches.
So we, as freedom loving citizens, have the opportunity for a do over. President Trump is 76 years old. He will pass away along with the rest of us in GOD’s time. So true. I’m all for free trade if other countries match our own onerous regulations, including minimum wage and social security type wage garnishment. But they don’t. I’ve had discussions with my National Review loving brother in law about this for years. Some people are just blind to the facts.
Meanwhile, middle management types from Amazon, Capital One, Microsoft, and now T Mobile are being axed. Things are grim across the country but I think Philadelphia has been harder hit than has been reported in the financial press. We know several well paid middle aged people who’ve been laid off and hiring here in Philadelphia is at a virtual standstill. We know quite a few well-employed, bright, ambitious, young ex-Philadelphians who are currently living in DC, Texas, and NY who are dying to move back to the Philadelphia area and have been applying for over a year and they aren’t even getting so much as a phone interview. They thought it would be easy to make the transition back home, but good jobs here seem non-existent.
