It’s even more basic than that: he was “the Executive Branch.” Defined and empowered by Article 2 of the Constitution itself.
There are an abundance of already-settled Supreme Court decisions which clearly define just what that means. Basically, it is criminally undefined(!) for anyone in Government to “bring criminal charges against” The President for the execution of his sovereign, plenary powers while in Office. And, the Supreme Court has already decided this fact, many times and in many ways, over the course of many years.
It is high time that President Trump and his attorneys play the Office’s (ahem, but “no pun”) “Trump Card.” Because there’s no other way to get “Lawfare” to finally shut up and recognize that the Constitution is what it is and says what it says. (As the SCOTUS already did.)
The President, in office, is not merely an individual. He is: “a Branch of Government.”
As a former POTUS, Trump is entitled to take his case directly to the top. And he should do so without delay. This has become a Constitutional issue. It must now be recognized and dealt with accordingly.

The SCOTUS, by definition, is the legitimate authority – and there are no “new decisions” to be made here on any point. This is not the first time that “the Executive role and authority” has been legally challenged. But it has never before been challenged so brazenly.
There is nothing about any of these challenges which has not already been “settled, before.”
As a nation, we must now pre-emptively put a well-defined stop to all of this. Both in all of the present cases and anytime in the future. The legal principles are already settled. What’s unusual is the audacity of the accusers. And this is what the SCOTUS, alone and directly, must now put to rest.
These all are, in fact, “nuisance attacks.”
As a nation, we must waste no more time with “government minions, ham sandwiches, and attack dogs.” This is a Constitutional challenge which must be decisively and permanently answered as such. Entirely pre-empting the “appeals process blah-blah-blah.” The accused, in his Office, is no ordinary person.
“Lawfare,” in fact, is not accusing “the person.” They are accusing The Executive Branch.

Trump made the same mistake in 2000. Trump ran on the Reform Party ticket but dropped out after the winning the CA primary with about 37% of the vote (Trump, Buchanan, and a few others). Trump witnessed first hand the obstacles placed in front of 3rd parties (Libertarian, Constitution, Green) by the Uniparty machine and their media allies.

Yesterday we had our busiest day ever at our local St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank. Over 60 families arrived during a 2-hour period to ask for a hand-out. (We are open for two hours per week.)

The main issue I have with all of this kabuki theatre is that, to the extent they made any specific pledges on policy, I don’t believe one individual on that stage is sincere about fixing any of the problems they profess to care deeply about.
Were any of them elected, of course, multinational corporations would continue running the state, the Federal Reserve would be permitted to run monetary policy in the shadows in perpetuity, the endless war machine would keep getting serviced, the border will remain open for the sake of importing corporate wage slaves who can drive down the cost of labor — and all of these traitorous ***holes would continue getting filthy rich off of all the graft in the meanwhile.
They are incapable of elaborating on their professed beliefs in any degree of detail and engaging with the substance of what the last guy said because they have no beliefs or thoughts that haven’t been drilled into their heads by consultants – and so they can’t give or take in real-time.
So what we got is two hours of empty platitude non-sequiturs.
The audience is another impediment to a sober, sincere conversation because they are willing to clap like seals at meaningless platitudes if they are just delivered with the right vocal intonations and conviction, which incentivizes more mindless sloganeering and less rational debate.
I’ll have to take his word for it because I didn’t watch the Fox debate or the Tucker interview. I haven’t watched “debates” or “State of the Union” addresses for decades. But he sounds about right from what I remember.
