‎8/‎20/‎2023 – You are the light of the world

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world; a city cannot be hid upon a mountain situated; nor do they light a lamp and put it under the corn measure, but upon the lampstand, and it shines for all who are in the house. Thus let shine your light before men, so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.”

Matthew 6:1-2, 5, 16 “Beware not to do your alms (acts of mercy) before men, in order to be seen by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens. When therefore you do alms (acts of mercy), do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men; verily I say to you, they have their reward . . . And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, so that they may appear (if to lighten, as a lantern) to men; verily I say to you, that they have their reward . . . And when you fast, be not as the hypocrites downcast in countenance; for they disfigure their faces, so that they may appear (if to lighten, as a lantern) to men fasting; verily I say to you, they have their reward.”

Clearly there is a difference between, what the Lord meant by, “Let your light so shine before men,” and the hypocrites desire to be seen as something to lighten men. In the context of the Lord saying, that we are the light of the world; that it is for shining light for the purpose of all to benefit from; it follows what He just before said, about the kind of character and behavior described in the Beatitudes.

It is not the ostentation of performing religious duties, which is the light of the world; but the New Creation wrought through the grace and Spirit of God, that works the Christ-like things of the Spirit. In other words, “The kingdom of God is within you;” and cannot be faked by an outward show, because what is in the heart will always come out under the pressure of the trial and confrontation.

And truly, going along one by one, through the Beatitudes, shows a kind of nature of everything antithetcal to the ambitious and unclean spirit of the hypocrite. And all the qualities of character named in the Beatitudes, by their very definition, imply confrontation, opposition, and bearing up under wrongs: none of which can be found, in that which is by nature nothing but chaff and insincerity. Just as the hypocrite has nothing worth beyond the show he puts forth; so the true saint’s character is expressly made manifest by the things that attack, and contradict, and oppose it. Like the incense; it gives its perfume when its burning.

Being poor in spirit is shown when it is being bullied, by not resisting the bullying. Mourning is purely and simply suffering and sorrow because of evil done. Meek means gentle, mild, humble; and stands out especially in contrast to the spirit of the world, that wants to be a hunter and a warrior, and subdue all things to itself. 

Hungering and thirsting after righteousness indicates patiently bearing up in faith, for judgment that does not yet appear in the world. Mercy and compassion is contrary to the gods of war that rule the hearts and minds of men, who are set on killing and condemning everyone else for their faults, and no conscience or any understanding of their own sins and failures in God’s sight. 

Pure in heart, integrity, being of the truth; even at the cost of acknowledging evil in one’s self; setting in order our account before God, and having a good conscience toward all men; these are the traits of God’s Spirit, which the men of this world do everything to suppress and overthrow, as the proof of their might and superiority. Pureness of heart does not go with being a friend of the world; for it condemns the evil, that everyone seeks to hide, and deny its existence in them. 

Being a peacemaker implies that there is a conflict and disagreement and an unresolved offence. The natural course of pride, is to go to war to prove its superiority and right. And the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. Being a peacemaker implies patience, and compromise, and consideration of the other’s position; and most importantly, how to love our neighbor as ourselves, under every real life circumstance, and when patience and forgiveness and admitting of wrongs is required.

Bearing up with patience under persecution for righteousness’ sake, and for the Name of Jesus, being a peacemaker, being pure in heart, being merciful and compassionate, hungering and thirsting after righteousness, meekness and gentleness, mourning, broken and contrite, and sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land, and poor spirited; all these are fruits of the Spirit, and real life evidence of grace having been wrought, living and working in the Born Again Christian. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit, has no power to produce good fruit; and no one can fake the Christian character, because it is a resurrection power miracle of God, that man has no power to do. 

The fact is, that this character transformation can only be perfected through confronting and enduring the pressures of the trials and afflictions that come against it. This is how we let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father in heaven. The stage-player only glorifies the character he is portraying, which is where is ability ends. Our ability is a New Creation having been wrought in us by God, by His power, by His Spirit, by His grace. God is glorified by truth on the inward parts, in those who receive His words in a good and honest heart. The nature of hypocrisy is by definition dishonest and deliberately misleading; and its entire purpose is to avoid exposure to the light, and divert attention away from “setting in order one’s account before God,” to make reconciliation with Him.

Meanwhile God has made it so, that everyone who is of the truth, will recognize the truth and have the opportunity to take a right response. God is glorified when men see His works of salvation and sanctification of men like themselves; so that all might be comforted and drawn to Jesus, to likewise come to know this wonderful grace of life in Christ.

Update for all those who sent prayers heavenward for Donny last Monday. He will be discharged from hospital to rehab early next week. He now recognizes everyone he knew, can walk up and down the hall, eats , dresses, bathrooms. His speech still needs work. He hasn’t smoked or swore since Monday. Thank you all. and mostly thanks to our Creator.

A profound thing about angels and I’m sure people who aspire to Righteousness also, as angels see God in everything. As most people see pictures of things based in memory.
A baby sees a woman walk in a room it see a woman. As it’s experience memory grows it sees its mother not just a woman. As all of us do as we gain knowledge and memories.
Angels are created with all knowledge already intact, they don’t learn as we do about a woman as a mother.
The images of God are intact at creation and all creation reflects Gods image. We as human learn or not, that those creations are reflections of God.

Let me give a beautiful example God gave us.
Marriage is a union based on the reflection of our relationship with Jesus. The man sees Jesus not the woman as the woman sees Jesus not the man. His or her love is purified in HOLY MATRIMONY as our relationship is with God. If….you see Jesus not your spouse then marriage becomes pure and sacred also you understand why it is attacked by the demonic.
Now, let me explain the demonic side of this, because it matters. We are at war folks.
Demons are angels created as all were with all the knowledge of God intact except…God is their torment and they see his reflection in all creation. ALL CREATION, can you see why these globalists are attacking all creation especially Gods most precious creations. Babies, mankind, nature?

Now, if people had the knowledge of what is going on in our world would it matter to educate and discipline? The knowledge that this battle starts in the spirit and ends up here in the physical, would we push God away so diligently?

Add this, demons as well as angels cannot force or manifest in the physical, but we allow them to enter just like Adam and Eve through ignorance and sin. Sin is not the only issue ignorance is in play. If we studied Gods word from birth, as we should, sin would never get a foothold.

Train up your child as he should go and later he will not depart from Gods path. And the most profound of all? God is sovereign, all is under his control…..all. The goal is our will to be focused on him.

“I can only imagine” what this world would be like if all focused on God first. We would literally be limitless. The faith of one would be magnified exponentially by the faith of millions of others. We tasted a tiny bit in America and in freedom, under God. It actually would be heaven on earth, can you see it?

Friday, Sherry and I worked all day. I split all the cured wood in my pickup truck. And then the green wood from the large Chinese elm. Sherry stacked as I split. We’re getting close now to getting the lean-too filled. Still need a 1/2 pick up load of cured wood to split and a 1/2 pickup load of green Chinese elm to spit and we get that stacked and the lean-too will be full. I have to leave one row in front empty to store my bags, trash cans full of kindling, and my two wheel cart.

Yesterday at 09:30 I went out and Steve was splitting the big knurly stuff from the big tree. As I helped Steve do that and throw the split stuff over the fence into neighbor Teds wood stack for his fire pit, Dave showed up and got on his tractor and using the forks put the three large and straight pieces salvaged from the tree into his dump truck. Having got all the stuff split, Steve took off with Dave in the dump truck to take the pieces to Chuck at his saw mill and I took a break from noon to 13:30. While we were all busy with that stuff Sherry was raking and picking up all the mess we had made splitting on Friday and she also cleaned out the bed of my pickup truck.

Steve and Dave came back with four 6″x 6″ timbers Chuck had cut at the mill for Steve’s log cabin. We unloaded them into the pile of other such lumber Steve has had stored under cover in his park like shelter. They had lunch on the way there and they were ready to hit it again when they got back. All the big tree was cleaned up and so we felled to two smaller Chinese Elms.

Weeks ago I had gone up in the Cherry picker and put choke straps on those trees, the ends of those straps came down low enough that we could hook other straps to them with clevises. So we had multiple heavy straps connected together and hooked the end of that to Daves tractor and he took up the slack. Then Steve cut the V in the side where he wanted it to go and did a straight cut from the back and I acted as go between because Dave could not see Steve due to a pile of dirt and a bush. Steve let me know when Dave was to pull and I let Dave know. They fell where we wanted them, missing the young oak on one side and a maple on the other.

Then I started nipping off the green stuff with my nippers and stacking it while Betty used the golf Cart with a bed on it to haul it to their and my fire ring. Steve went to work with the chain saw cutting stuff up, making sure to cut the pieces intended for my insert a maximum of 17 1/2″ long. Dave used the forks on his tractor to break up stuff and lift heavy pieces to make it easier for Steve to cut it with his chain saw.

Before long Steve had a bunch of stuff cut up suitable for my fire ring. I was ahead of Betty because that green stuff takes some time to burn and so I got my pickup and started loading it with the stuff I will be splitting for my insert. Once I had 1/2 of a pickup truck load, Dave had the longer straight pieces that would go to the saw mill loaded. Dave took that load himself. Steve and I took my 1/2 full pickup over to {Phillis’s house and we got the desk and some odds and ends I had bought at the estate auction and got in my house and Sherry went to work cleaning it and organizing. Makes a perfect desk for her to do the bills at.

After Steve and I took a break, he started cutting up the crooked stuff that will go in Teds fire pit pile. I worked on throws some over the fence can stacking the last of leafy green branches. Then we got a call. A mutual friend had hauling one of those mini barns on the trailer and somehow it had come off the trailer during transport and was laying on its side along the road. Dave told Steve to get into his pickup and come help.

I stayed finishing stacking the green stuff and throwing other stuff over the fence. But I was pretty much done in by then. Betty came out and we together got the splitter put up in the barn and rolled up all the straps and gathered the clevises and got them in the barn. Then I was done for the day. Betty was raking up small stuff when I came home.

By then it was 19:00. Sherry had steaks ready to grill but neither of us were hungry enough for them. She put them in the fridge and I ate sliced ring baloney on saltines with mustard and Sherry had a Salsbury steak TV dinner. I think I just needed the salt after sweating all day. Had kept slamming the water but hadn’t eaten anything before that except a breakfast burrito and taken my vitamins and a Bayer Back & Body.

Have not suffered from leg cramps at night despite two hard days of manual labor and I’m thankful for that. Today is a day of rest.

Those in S. California are already seeing the effects of Hillary. The storm looks to be right on the forecasted track and while now a minimal hurricane, looks to be at TS strength when the core crosses into the US later today. Thankfully the storm is speeding up and by midnight tonight is forecast to be a tropical depression and be crossing into Nevada. The fast speed of movement of the storm will help with keeping down the accumulated rainfall in any particular area.

Joe Bastardi’s Saturday Summary is excellent again. 21 minutes long, he talks about Hillary, what’s going on in the Atlantic, and Weatherbell’s advanced Winter forecast. Basically they are forecasting most of the Southern half of the US to see 133% winter precipitation. IOW It’s going to be a rough winter down there. The worst to come during the second half of the winter.

For right now the hot is spreading east and north and here at my Indiana home it looks like we’re in for a very hot week. For me that means what outside work I will be doing will either be in the morning or evening and not during the peak heat of the day. That’s ok. Got plenty to do inside.

If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing.   – 1 Timothy 6:3

Earlier this year, there were reports that the Church of England was considering removing masculine pronouns for God and making Him gender-neutral. Those claims proved not to be true. More recently, however, the Archbishop of York suggested that “Our Father” be removed from the Lord’s Prayer because too many people have had poor or even abusive relationships with their earthly fathers or been abandoned by them, and calling God “Father” would further traumatize them. This is but one example of a new trend toward deconstructing the Christian faith in order to align it with a more current culture, to make a new “Christianity” more palatable to no belief system at all. 

Jesus warned about false teachers (Matthew 7:15-20). So did the apostle Paul (Romans 16:17-18, 1 Timothy 6:3-5). Peter spends a good portion of his second epistle warning of false teachers (2 Peter 2). False teachers prey on the spiritually immature as they distort or abandon portions of scripture. They are often conceited, ambitious, and money-hungry (2 Corinthians 2:17). In today’s culture, they tolerate inappropriate sexuality as well as immorality. They hold to a form of outward religiosity, but they have denied the very power of the cross. Paul says to avoid them (2 Timothy 3:5). 

If you are involved in a church or congregation that has “deconstructed“ the Gospel of Jesus Christ, run! Seek those who faithfully teach the truth of God’s Word. From a distance, you can pray that God would work on the spirits of false teachers to bring them to the truth. Pray for the pastors and teachers who hold to the true Gospel, for they are in a spiritual battle.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
