Here near the Oregon coast it was 99 degrees in the 4-runner as we started to the beach. 10 miles west the fog was rolling in, strong winds from the northwest and 68 degrees.
Wow, wish it were like that here. It’s 10:38 at night and still 85.
Oh boy! It’s August with a vengeance. 80 for the overnight low where I came down to spend a couple days on the Atlantic coast tonight.
I remember that. I spent 25+ years living in the Monterey California area. Due to the marine fog layer average summer temps were 58°. We would go to the Central Valley warm up. Lol.

Les & Mary established a unique style & sound that was subsequently copied or built upon by many others. There is an unmistakable, undeniable sense of happiness, light-heartedness, and general “joie de vivre” in their music (and most pop music of the late 1940’s and throughout the 1950s).
(Unfortunately most of that positivity completely disappeared from American pop music in the latter 1990s and into this century. It’s gone, replaced by dark feelings, anger, sexual vulgarity, frustration, and desperation. )

You clearly don’t know the story behind that short video. The guy in the white cap is Russian YouTuber Edward Bil, who is famous for his videos where he provokes people into fighting with him (using insults and more) and then physically assaults them for entertainment.
Absolutely revolting individual. His other pranks included videos of him speeding, which eventually led to a severe head-on collision. As a result of this incident, he was sent to jail. Subsequently, it was revealed that up until that point, he had accumulated over 400 outstanding traffic violations.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I’ve been reading a series of fiction books about a handwriting expert, Claudia Rose. The author is Sylvia Lowe, also a handwriting expert.
I’m just starting book #4, ‘Inkslingers Ball’ and in the author’s notes there’s a link to her tattoo artist son’s FB page. I took a look and found this piece from 2015, hope it posts properly, it’s the praying soldier above in ink.

Eastern Kingbird. Saw one of them yesterday on a line next to a hay field on the way to work. They are around I just do not see them as much as I would like. I was lucky to have a pair nest for a few years in a Sycamore tree behind my old house when I was a kid. The Baltimore Orioles also loved that tree. Sycamore trees are messy, but they are hardy and the birds love them.
