yes, I’ve been to Lahaina many times, about 10 times for dinner and entertainment, other times passing thru to surf farther north, and a couple times as crew on racing sailboats
it was quite a town, originally a whalers’ town, buildings from the 1870s, more modern ones like art galleries, waterfront restaurants, a Hard Rock Cafe, and in recent years Mick Fleetwood’s 2-story restaurant with dining on the 2nd floor deck overlooking the ocean right across the street
It’s a huge spiritual and economic loss and that’s even before considering the lost homes and loss of life

What I especially like about Maine Coon kitties is their natural affection for their people. My neighbor’s Main Coon kitty used to wait on our front porch. He just wanted to say hello when we got home from school. Nice kitty.

Excellent! I let the Ironweed mature in my yard, which looks kind of silly until they bloom for the migrating Monarchs. Lately the Swallowtails, flashing bright blue hues have been flitting through my yard looking for a tiny white flower of a ground-hugging weed the Gopher tortoise seem fond of on these blistering hot days.
Also, I saw “my” Banded Kingfisher’s mate or rival (great news either way!) flying with the original bird I have watched for years that comes to nest in a patch of undisturbed woods behind my rural retreat. There are many tiny bright orange native butterflies that have sprung forth this year. I don’t know their names, but they are a sight to behold.

One of life’s great pleasures is planting the right trees/shrubs/plants/flowers to draw in the insects that draw in the wildlife, especially Birds. I have a nice stand of Goldenrod that looks terrible where they are but when they late bloom they draw in the pollinators like crazy.
I had a flash flood 2 weeks after i did my major wildflower seeding damage my planting. I have to fill in and replant some this fall. Slainte to you all

NASA asteroid deflection test accidentally creates a BOULDER SWARM that could impact the Earth with as much energy as the Hiroshima detonation
NASA astronomers at the time concluded that the project was an amazing success, and Dimorphos’ trajectory was changed slightly. The success of DART proved to scientists that there could be a way to save the Earth from a potential extinction-level asteroid impact. (Related: “Invisible” asteroids could hit Earth at any time, researchers warn.)
But astronomers have now discovered that even though the impact succeeded, it also removed 37 boulders from Dimorphos, which are now zooming through space at a speed of around 13,000 miles per hour.
It seems highly unlikely that they will orbit significantly different than their parent, hence they will not be a problem to earth. Now, they may interact with other asteroids and once again change their orbits. So after bouncing around for a while, they could be coming our way.
But, if we find such a beast aimed at us, and try to deflect it, we could succeed, but still get showered by debris we created.

As a species our priorities are set entirely too low I suspect.

How did they become dull? And where did they take the decision to walk no more with Jesus, that even the fundamentals of the faith had slipped away and they didn’t know then anymore? Well we know what happened. They had given in to drowsiness, when they should have stayed awake and prayed. They did not care to work out the stones and debris from out of their hearts, so the word could take deep enough root, that it would grow and produce fruit. They got something evil in their eye, that made their vision impaired, and so they became full of darkness; even while having the light!

I totally believe that since my daughter and SIL caught covid in late October /early November 2019. Their doctor didn’t know what they had but definitely was a virus not influenza.
I believe that. There were a few places around the world that seemed to have, in hindsight, a bad respiratory virus going around Oct/Nov 2019.
Of course, right now it’s all speculation.

Good morning all.
The convective outlook today is showing enhanced over most of PA and a bit of southern NY. In the left upper corner just above the map you can see the tabs labeled. “Catagorical, Tornado, Wind, Hail”. Catagorical is what is shown by default but if you hover over any of the other tabs it will show a hatched area and a probability of occurrence for that particular weather. For example there is a 30% chance of damaging winds in area identical to the enhanced area shown on the Categorical map. BTW Joe Bastardi’s home is in that area today.

Nothing shaking in the MDR in the Atlantic. Dora, though weakening, still had 98 mph winds. She has moved NW across the international date line (roughly 180 deg. longitude) and thus out of the Central Pacific basin and into the NW Pacific basin, and so is now technically a Typhoon for a time before she dies.
Meanwhile in the Eastern Pacific Basin the two invests have strengthened. The one to the east (1) bears watching.
We need some serious rain north of Tampa.

Among the many gifts given to believers by the Holy Spirit is the “ability to distinguish between spirits.” Not every gift is given to every Christian, but all gifts are given purposefully. Pastor Jeff Van Wyrt with Teen Impact in Baton Rouge, reminded his people that the gifts were given “to build the church in unity and love for Christ.” He says gifts of edification are to build up, those of exhortation to stir up, those of comfort to cheer up, and those of direction to bring instruction to the body of Christ.
For those who are given the ability to discern among spirits, this kind of deep discernment relies totally on the Holy Spirit and it develops in a climate of humility. This deeper level of discernment is the result of a heart totally committed to God, sensitive to His leading, obedient and yielded to His will.
The deep discerner will see beyond the obvious to the motives that lie behind, forcing that Holy Spirit-led person to their knees in intercession. It involves heavy-duty spiritual warfare where only Christ, and not pride, gives the victory.
If you are or know a deep discerner, pray for the ongoing protection of God, for the days in which we live are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16). Pray that judges and justices across the United States, who issue rulings that often require discernment beyond their scope of understanding, will go to the Lord for guidance in those cases.

There is a certain level of discernment that EVERY believer has; for the simple reason, that we are all Jesus’ sheep, and know His voice; and, we do not know the voice of strangers (also discernment), and so we flee in fear from those we don’t know: and when I say, “don’t know,” I mean, we don’t have the peace and freedom of the Holy Spirit with them; we feel uneasy and convicted that we shouldn’t be listening to this person; we hear them boldly speaking in outright contradiction to the word, or the nature of God, or Jesus; etc.
There are definitely special gifts of discernment; just as there are gifts of interpretations, of revelation knowledge, of power for casting out demons and healing the sick, for helping, for leading; all the many members that make up the whole body, and all the many things we can do as God’s children, and replications of Himself.
I think that this little place where some real Christians meet and share, can have some degree of exercising the gifts of the Spirit; but it seems that the biggest obstacle here, is the same as if we were all meeting in person several times a week; and that is the real love in the Spirit.
Not just sending pretty pictures and chatting, but true fellowship. I think that most of what happens here, is just a handful of believers trying to share and engage their brothers and sisters so many topics from the Scriptures; but then they are left out there flapping in the breeze. Maybe a few likes; maybe, maybe a comment and some two or three times back and forth. But other than that, it can be very disheartening.
I know the LORD often sent His servants in, to speak to people whom He knew would not listen, but would be hostile and combative; but He sent His servant anyway to still warn them, even when they were too proud to listen. But here, for example; I know there are many who share “religious” things, art work, Scripture verses, prayers and proclamations; but, forgive me for saying, not much discernment or very deep! And I have to think, that its simply because that’s all that people are being taught, as Christianity. Why then the great chasm between what we read in Acts, and all that Jesus taught in the Gospels; and what we have in real today?
The LORD hasn’t changed; His word and His Holy Spirit haven’t changed; so who has missed it? And who has been led down a pitiful poor substitute path, that has a very real and dangerous risk of being the wrong way?
This time we are coming into right now, is rushing at a dreadful speed; and the risks that are being taken, by not having grave concern for one’s soul; are terrible. If the ungodly want to mock; let them answer for their own choices; there’s no one gonna stand up for me before the LORD at the last day, but me, and the things I did while I was here.
“; there’s no one gonna stand up for me before the LORD at the last day, but me,…” Indeed. When Moses asks God, who, shall I say to the people of Israel, sent me? God replies, tell them I am who that I am – so in similar fashion when our souls are standing before Him, our SOUL will answer “I am who that I am”.
I’m not getting your meaning, I think: are you saying that we will become I AM THAT I AM? That is really quite absurd, isn’t it; that the created thing should then at some point rise to position of the Almighty? Tell me please, that I misunderstood.
What I meant was simply that, we all have to give account for ourselves; and that no one is going to be able to stand up for his brother or neighbor and say, He’s alright; he’s with me. And we have nothing to care about if people mock us and have nothing but contempt for us, for believing in Jesus with our whole heart; they will answer for themselves when they stand before Jesus, just like me.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
