The irony should not be lost on us that a trigger warning is required for an article written for adults about what their kids are watching on the internet. But in the age of social media and trans mass hysteria, this is where we find ourselves.
A brilliant documentary called “The Call is Coming From Inside the House; The Great Awokening” was posted on YouTube on January 16th 2022. Within a few days, it accrued thousands of views. It features extensive footage which has been publicly posted on social media promoting trans identities and trans surgeries, much of which is highly graphic and disturbing.

To close, I will describe the two images which, among all this surreal horror, had the biggest effect on me. One shows a smiling young woman posing topless with her surgeon to show off her mastectomy result – multiple self harm scars are clearly visible on her arms and abdomen. The other is a short video of a young woman, also topless with fresh mastectomy scars and missing nipples, explaining in an agitated manner how she is getting “phantom nipple pain” and pleading with whoever has “gotten hold of my nipples and is pinching them to stop the “sick game”. There are no words to describe a society which allows healthy body parts to be removed from young people who are clearly in such severe mental distress.

I don’t mean to play the blame game, but, honestly, where are the adults in these kids’ lives?
I had 4 kids, and know how challenging the preteen/teen years are.
One went into full blown OCD at 12 years old, and rather than medicate as insisted on by the school social worker I spent hours a day for 6 months or so supporting, talking, crying. Fortunately, he emerged a stronger, more self aware individual and is a successful husband and father today.
Two others went through their bumbpy spells but emerged as functional adults.
One still struggles with on and off homeless and substance abuse problems, so I know attentive parenting can’t fix everything.
But even the best kids need an adult in their lives somewhere, or they will eventually latch on to a peer group, “mentor,” gang, predator that will use and abuse them.
Each generation suffers from the inept parenting of the previous generation.
The fix has to start at home, in the community.
I am so tired of seeing this response.
Most parents have absolutely no idea about the TikTok threat and its innumerable allies in “our” government and media aren’t telling them.
Lets’ go back in time and ask, had such services existed in the 60s, if we’d have let an app like this from the Soviet Union on children’s’ phones because that would be equal to the threat that this is.

These two contrasting scenarios underscore my point. It’s so easy to fill our time with nonsense or outright vile stuff–we’re bombarded with it almost nonstop–and it can be hard work to make time to think or to find worthwhile media to consume.
I wonder how the psychology of pivoting away from junk food to healthy eating might be used to assist
society in consuming healthier media. Perhaps the hardest part is getting folks to realize they’re consuming junk and losing mental muscle tone.
When I am more disciplined I swim laps. No one can talk to you when you spend thirty minutes with your head underwater. It’s great for random thinking/not thinking.
I learned long ago with my son that the worst crime you can commit is to bore young people; they can’t stand to be bored and will do anything to avoid it.
There are studies that show doing absolutely nothing is when we are our most creative; it is also helpful for children who have attention issues. But our society of always keeping busy works against that.
People in my life at each stage have remarked about how I “think outside the box” + see things or put things together…
I’ve never known what the box is due to years of trauma right out of the cradle. I was tortured as a child trying to understand how things are supposed to be…..
It translated into what I chose to major in + work I’ve done as an adult + included spending many years overseas until fairly recently. That long time spent in different parts of the world with very different cultures also dislocated me from being trapped in Blind Think here in the US…
