Our Jack Russell…every single time we let him out the door he is growling like big foot is on the deck…always say to him, Don’t forget your bullet Barney! Lol
NanaB…we had the sweetest Jack Russell when we lived in the UK.
We lived in a small Welsh village among sheep fields down in a valley from which vantage point we could look up to see the main road.
This road had what we called a “lay by” where cars could stop to have a cup of tea and enjoy the stunning scenery.
One day while we were both at work, a gypsy caravan parked in this lay by, and three of their horrid offspring came down the lane and gained access to our house where they stole a few things.
By purest happenstance our neighbour’s young daughter who was a dear friend of our youngest met them as she was rounding the corner to the back of our house and they were exiting the window they crawled in from.
The reason for this lengthy preamble is this…
Our Penny was so friendly that she greeted them as they scavenged through our home. No threat she…just a little dog who was our four legged welcome party for whoever came to the door (or window), friend or foe. She really was the opposite of others of her beautiful breed. Not a growl in her.
Had she the ability I’m sure she would have made them all tea and sandwiches.
Not coincidence that our neighbour’s daughter “just happened” to come by the house (she wanted to show some friends how Penny came and sent through the cat flap😂) or the thieves might have taken her as well…

last night was real gusty … moderately windy then these real intense gusty bursts about 10 seconds long
like in a winter nor-easter back on the Jersey shore, the gusts would shake the whole house
Maui and Big Island will get higher winds and windier gusts
Oahu is only 3,000 or so feet high
Wind buffeting up against Oahu can flow over it, largely, and we’ll get gust to 40-50 mph as in this latest wind storm
Maui and Big Island have mountains 10,000 to 13,000 feet
They can block the incoming wind field from sea level up to the upper atmosphere
So much of the incoming wind has to go AROUND each of the high mountains and you get compressed venturi jets around the mountain flanks with winds up to 60 to 80 mph, as in this latest event

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

The Methodists aren’t that the only denomination experiencing upheavals. So are the Anglicans, Presbyterians, Lutherans (I think) and others. It needs to happen so that the apostasies which have somehow managed to grab a foothold in so many churches are exposed….a cleansing of God’s houses of worship.

Though to hear the “news” one would think the US is burning in hell and some of you down south probably think so, and Louisiana is likely to break an all time record for heat, the fact is overall this year through July has been significantly cooler than average for the US as a whole and the summer has not been abnormally warm nationally. Even the liars at NOAA can’t hide that fact.

Had a bit of drizzle earlier. No storming, overcast only and 80°. Yesterday had a cool 68° with rain till afternoon. It cleared and still didn’t get past 80°.

rah, I enjoy reading your weather news. I’m here on the west coast, central valley, CA, and I’ve noticed all the “news” about how we are burning up. Well, that;s not quite true.
This summer has been wonderful. Yeah, we had our obligatory series of really hot days, but, like today, the weather is great, just mid 90s. Heck. tomorrow is only going to be 85!!!
Last winter we had 19 inches of rain (9 is our normal).
I’m wondering if we are going to repeat weather like 1982-83 when we got 22 inches of rain. The next 4-5 years after that our summers were quite cool and the winters were brutally cold (for us) with highs only in the low 40s.
