In our effort to live our best lives, we are going to an Indians baseball game today.

Ours start again in another couple of weeks, and to that end, the twin grandlads are out in the broiling Texas year scraping old paint off their designated parking spaces.
This is what seniors do every year. Remove paint and then repaint their spaces. Their mother had to buy a canopy to put over them while they are working on this project. It’s SO HOT and on asphalt?? I’m concerned but they seem to be relishing the job and are staying well hydrated.
Yes, by all means, straighten both your crowns. And plow ahead, knowing Savannah will prevail over her circumstances. She’s made of tough stuff. Now where did she get that I wonder🤔😎💕

Oy… Texas heat. My 8 years in San Antonio.. I remember that well. The asphalt is hot, so I hope they’re doing their projects in the early morning or late evening.
It’s bittersweet to watch them grow and launch.
The only good thing is that before you know it it will be summer again. 😁 My daughter used to love school and so does one of her brood, our 11 year old grandson. I don’t know where that came from but not from my genes. OTOH, Miss V and Nipper are just like their Grandpa, don’t care that much for school. 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly! The ‘gap theory’ (aka the crap theory) was a knee jerk reaction to the Scopes trial. It is not Biblical, stating that there was death before Adam sinned. How believers subscribing to the crap theory reconcile this is beyond me. Perhaps the same thought process involved in saying that Moses and company crossed the Red Sea in a shallow place does not explain Pharoah’s army drowning in the same shallow place. The sea was parted! Miracle that can’t be explained away. The earth was created about 6,000 years ago and Adam and Eve were put in a garden that wasn’t planted over a graveyard. Shalom!

Not surprisingly, the “names” given to individuals, Angles, and to God himself (I think there are 70), when written and read in the original Hebrew are not merely “names” like Jack, John, Judy, Patricia ETC as we use in English, and I would guess many other languages as well. Each “name” has multi-level meanings and attachments. In this example using our concept of “Adam” being like Jack.. etc. we miss the much deeper levels of meaning. From this site https://ancient-hebrew.org/names/Adam.htm.. “Adam” as found in the book of Genesis, but what does it really mean? Let us begin by looking at its roots. This word/name is a child root derived from the parent דם (dam) meaning, “blood”. By placing the letter א in front of the parent root, the child root אדם (adam) is formed and is related in meaning to דם (dam).
By examining a few other words derived from the child root אדם we can see a common meaning in them all. The Hebrew word אדמה (adamah) is the feminine form of אדם meaning “ground” (see Genesis 2:7). The word/name אדום (Edom) means “red”. Each of these words has the common meaning of “red”. Dam is the “red” blood, adamah is the “red” ground, edom is the color “red” and adam is the “red” man. There is one other connection between adam and adamah as seen in Genesis 2:7 which states that “the adam” was formed out of the adamah.

This is our Sunday Treehouse benediction, Treeper friend. Have a blessed Sunday and always, always know that our Dear Lord loves us and watchers over us—all we have to to do id accept Him as our Savior. Honest. . . 🙂
“all we have to to do is accept Him as our Savior,” is not scriptural! The devil also believes, and trembles! The commandment is, Repentance for the remission of sins; and, Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. God accepts us for Jesus’ sake, and He forgives us because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead so we also could live.
The whole idea of sinners accepting God, is unfathomable arrogance, and complete ignorance of who God is; and no understanding of man’s doomed and alienated condition without God. The idea of man accepting God, makes God the alienated one, and the one begging for charity; does that sound right to you?
Next to that; to say that, that’s all we have to do is accept Him; goes right in the face of the whole Bible, which separates the righteous from the wicked, the saved from the damned, by our works! For its not the hearers of the law who are justified, but the doers! The Scripture says, that being a hearer only, and not a doer, one deceives himself. And the Lord said, that many would seek to enter into the kingdom of heaven, and would not be able; why? because he did not know them, they were workers of lawlessness; saying to Him, Lord, Lord, but not doing what He says.
I would strongly advise you to reconsider if this “Accepting” and “Nothing else required” is an idea you want to hold onto; if it won’t hold up to the written word of God.
It is NOT a small matter, that we say things against what Jesus says is the truth. The reason it has become so popular, and has in effect been made into doctrine; is because it is non offensive, and doesn’t demand moral accountability; which of course is extremely risky business, if you’re counting on the tithing and offerings every month. American churches have led the way in this, in turning the gospel into a business and a show. And that’s why there is no light, and no Holy Spirit, and no power and victory; only emotional enchantments and empty talk.
Perhaps searching the meaning of “accept” is warranted.

Thank you for being both succinct and well said. To that I will add: The definition of Secondary Ignorance is not knowing that you don’t know.
I understand your point; but THAT IS PRECISELY THE POINT! We do have more to do than just “accept” the Lord, who loves us and watches over us. First of all, we are not the ones in the position of accepting; it is not Jesus who is waiting at the back porch for us to bring Him out a plate of beans! We are the ones who are unfit for the Presence of God; and can only be saved by the way and means He has made for us to be saved. The use of the word Accept, is in my view, a sneaky manipulation, and deviates from what is our real condition and need. Like I pointed out; having only to accept, does not demand moral accountability; which is the entire issue, and how we are unfit for the Presence of God naturally. The man and his wife were sent out of the garden wearing animal skins! Isn’t that a picture of shame and something having gone horribly bad? And then the way of the tree of life guarded by the cherubim with flaming swords turning every direction: that doesn’t sound like God is the one requiring favor!
Its far easier to “bring people to Jesus” by making it more palatable for the proud and hiding sinful man; and it sounds close enough, right? NO! Not right! God has shown us in the Scriptures, and by the testimony of all His holy prophets and messengers, exactly how we are to come before Him, and set in order our account. And simply raising one’s hand quietly from the seats, and accepting Jesus, is not anything they did in the beginning. Read the accounts in the first few chapters of Acts; and take careful note, how they repented and were converted, and were then given the Holy Ghost. And whenever someone started to be deceitful and deviate from that purity of heart; they were taken away quickly and decisively (Ananias and Saphira, Acts 5).
Words absolutely matter; for they are the expression of what’s in the heart.

Here is an important juxtaposition in Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, that no one should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

First it says that our salvation is not a result of our works. Then it describes a life of good works, which is the normal life of a believer in a good relationship with the Lord. First there is redemption (not of our works) then there is a life full of good works.
It is not possible that we, the helpless and hopeless sinners, slaves of sin and powerless over sin, could participate in the sublime work of redemption. Only the sinless man, Jesus Christ, could do that and He did it perfectly. He said, It is finished! The hand of flesh of fallen humanity cannot help or participate in redemption’s work.
As the hymns say, Redemption’s work is fully done, and, He opened the life gate that all may go in. That means that He respects each persons free will to choose redemption or not. When we choose the Savior, He is glorified.
The confusion comes in when people read the warnings about the loss of reward as a faithful believer and think this refers to salvation. The reward can be lost, due to foolish and selfish decisions and willful lack of diligence. Again, the free will of man can operate.
The promises of God can never be broken. The promises of God to the Jews will certainly be fulfilled. In John it talks about no one being able to snatch us out of His hand or out of the Father’s hand.
The security of our salvation cannot be safeguarded by our feeble and wavering effort, such that we could be saved and unsaved numerous times a day. It is secured by the two strong hands of the Father and the Son.
We then have to be diligent to live out the life we have received. We got two big things when we accepted the Lord: redemption and regeneration.
Romans 6:23
The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Redemption takes care of our sin debt of the past. Regeneration empowers us to stay in a position of victory over sin. The proof of the power of the gospel is changed lives.

Exactly right! But that choosing is made manifest by acknowledgement of the truth, and repentance, and conversion. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, and the beginning of wisdom; the decision of faith must express itself: it doesn’t just sit there content with having agreed in concept; for the burning guilt and conviction compels him to act upon his convictions.
I was reading this morning (afternoon) in 1 Chronicles 28, where David was charging his son Solomon, and giving him the divinely inspired pattern for building the temple; and it was emphasized how David had provided with all his affection, and all his might, and out of his private wealth, for everything needed to build the house; and then it was put to Solomon to take charge; and then also to all the people, who were willing, to consecrate themselves to do the work. Jesus has done all, and given His all, to provide everything for us to build the house of God. Just as Solomon and all the people owed it to David and to the LORD, to finish what they had been given to do; so do we owe it to the Lord Jesus and the Father, and all our brethren who have come before us; to consecrate ourselves with a perfect heart and a willing mind, to take heed now, and to do it.
This is not a game of semantics! This is about proving ourselves worthy of His love, and all that He has done for us. The grace that has been wrought in us, and the Spirit which God has given into our hearts, is reflected in our course in life, by obedience to His word and His Spirit.

Amazing Grace, indeed Bet. This wonderful song always reminds me of how Our Lord can see past our sin and forgive us. His Love is so encompassing that it’s presence can sometimes seem overwhelmingly profound.
I was talking with my young Mormon missionary friends the other day about this. We all had direct experience of His Grace—comparing our experiences affirmed our shared belief that there are multiple paths to belief and acceptance. You just have to take that first step. That’s what Amazing Grace always means to me.
Grace is amazing, Garrison. Forgiveness such as we mortals cannot imagine. The same with His love for us, also unfathomable.

In CC-by-the-seaside, the Whataburger hamburger stand was started up.
The owner would fly over the city in a piper cub (the drone of the day) and throw out coupons.
We’d hear that plane coming and would get on our bikes and chase those coupons down to get a free Whataburger.
It was tough on a windy day.
But hey, getting a free Whataburger was worth it.
That fella did all right with that business …. he had a great product and he knew how to advertise it.

Only I didn’t use playing cards…. I used my baseball cards that I collected from bubble gum packs!
If only I had saved those… some of them would have been worth $000’s in later years!

As for fast food…..all I can remember from that era and town is a (drive-in?) restaurant called Country Boy. Their big sign out front had the image of boy dressed in overalls and shirt with a straw farmer hat and a bumblebee on his toe or nose. I was a very young and only remember what I could see from the back seat of my father’s 1954 Dodge.

Addresses meteorological reasons for the record high temp that wasn’t actually a record.
But what I have found out since I posted yesterday is there is a Nuclear Power station near that place pumping out warm water in addition to all the other info I gave.
Joe says summer is over for Europe! For the alarmists to be hyping temperatures they will have to go to the polar Urals, where the temps will be higher than normal.
If NYC has not had a heat wave all summer. Takes 3 consecutive days of 90 deg. F or above for it to be a heat wave. Joe makes fun of the their news having live on the street reports on the “extreme heat” when the temperature was only 88 deg and they had 5 mph winds gusting to 23 mph,
Most of the weather models are coming around to agree that August is going to be cooler than normal for most of the US almost all of Europe. CSFv2, Japanese, Canadian, are all showing essentially the same thing.
Joe is working on his winter forecast for the US. It is still looking like those in the North and Central East of the US will be having a more severe winter than they have in some time. Now that I’m not on the road anymore I am hoping that will be the case for my place here in Indiana.

I earned it. Started paying into SS when I was 16 and except when in school worked my entire life until I was over 67 y/o without ever filing for or drawing unemployment. But in these tougher times my retirement is financially secure with the resources to do many of the things I want, only because of my inheritance from Dad.
Sherry and I would be alright with what we earned and saved and our SS but it is because of Dad that we have the resources to do the additions to the house and set it up for when we become infirmed and still go wherever and whenever we want to go.

Update on Niki. Not good.
Niki’s attitude is now great but she is losing the physical battle. Niki can frequently eat normal foods of certain kinds and has been getting out of bed and going out to places, including walks on the beach and trips to the store. But after three more sessions of chemo the main tumor has grown from 3 cm to 5 cm. She celebrated her 48th birthday on the 28th and looks like a 90 year old.
There is still hope though.
She will be taking no more chemo. They are now looking at a new promising experimental surgery. Did you know that they are digitally printing tissue and small segments of body organs?
They talked to a woman that had a similar cancer to what Niki has and had this done and who is now back to work and living a normal life! It involves replacing the infected part of the inferior vena cava and a small area of her liver with digitally printed tissue parts.
The woman they talked to that had this procedure said there were 23 people in the OR when they wheeled her in. That’s the kind of major surgery their talking about. But it appears that is her best option to have a chance to live and possibly even have a relatively normal life.
I really don’t know how I’m going to be able to console Sherry if we lose Niki.
We have not gone down because there is nothing we can do at this time. But when Allison starts school we will probably be going down for some time because at least we can take her and pick her up from school and do things with her to take a little of the load off Laura.
Oh rah, this is not good news.

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.

disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

I used to make my own mayonnaise. It was trouble but so worth it.
Dukes is the only mayo. Unfortunately Dukes is made with soy. No sugar or corn syrup!
Here’s some advice on making your own Dukes. I just sub in avocado/Coconut or olive oil. I stay away from soy as much as possible. I state as much as possible because so many foods have soy.

I should have added that soy beans are one of the crops genetically engineered to survive spraying by weed killer. The glyphosate can still be in the plant. Corn and soybeans are modified.

This day has absolutely flown by!! My goodness!!!! Sorry for the late return, dear friend.
He’s doing great!! Bless you for asking. We were talking about this last night…how (yes I will say it) near death he was only four months ago! And now? This morning he was out repairing a sprinkler head, and riding in situ on the “Barbie” bike (pink😎) an ex colleague gave him which he has secured on a device to he can pedal without going anywhere.
Then as we had an old 8 inch Kindle we’d forgotten about, he has attached that to the handlebars and downloaded on of those videos which lets him pretend he’s actually biking down scenic roads.
Then he went to the store for me to lick up some things I “forgot” (wink😉)
Not until it gets cooler though…early mornings he does about 15 minutes.
Unfathomable the short time it has been since his devastating illness and inability to take even a couple of steps with gasping!
But we know, don’t we, how that happened🙏🏻 MIRACLE!!
I said to him that the best and most loving Prayer Warriors on the planet live in this Tree. He knows and gave out a heartfelt AMEN!!

I wish we could attract any!
I put out a feeder far away and sheltered from the horrid ants. Not one hummingbird. I know they visit because last year in the spring one came within a foot of my face. I raced to buy a feeder and nectar. Then nothing. And in the end, the horrid ants made the long trek to help themselves. We are baking hot, and there is no place to hang our feeder that doesn’t eventually get the sun’s full blast.

You can spray around the base of the feeder pole (if suspended on a pole) with Off, insecticide or a mix of 1 tbsp dawn dishwashing liquid to one cup water. You have to renew the spray every few days to keep the ants from climbing their way to the feeders. If suspended then you can spray the wire or whatever the feeder is suspended by. Although the hummingbirds will still go to a feeder with ants inside they won’t use it very long.
In this hot weather you have to change out the 1:4 sugar water every couple days minimum. It ferments or goes bad. 1 cup white sugar to 4 cups water is enough for multiple feeders. I don’t try to fill each feeder completely since I know I have to renew every couple days. Shady spot for feeders is better than sunny and it helps keep the wasps and bees away, they like the sun.
BTW the dawn mix is great insecticide if placed in an old Windex bottle, works on paper wasps and all types of inscects.
If you have a real problem with ants, spiders and other insects near the house then spray Sevin insecticide in a 6 foot wide barrier all the way around the house on the ground. Keeps those away and out of the house. If ticks and chiggers are a problem then spray the whole yard. Keep pets and kids off the lawn until the next rain or irrigation.

We use that mixture by the way to kill aphids on plants when they appear. It works brilliantly!

Yes, actually the Dawn mix works so well that it bothers me, we rarely use it for washing dishes and it will break out sensitive hands. Keep a spray bottle premixed of Dawn next to chicken coop doors this time of year for paper wasps that build in the coops.
Anything that will kill insects like that eh? Another item that kills spiders and ants immediately is Clorox spray disinfectant in the pressurized can (or generic equivalent). It’s effects are as immediate as any “bug” spray out there and cheaper. Hopefully its safer to use inside the home…..but again anything that kills insects like that is suspect for safety around humans IMHO

chance that you will wind up going through Fulton County, Ga.
Atlanta ( and 14 other cities ) are location in Fulton County, Ga.
Look them up online, to help keep this posting brief.
All roads go through Fulton County GA. At least 1-75, 1-85, 1-20,
285 and the 6-8 lane GA 400 bypass. If you are traveling through
metro Atlanta north to south, east to west, good chance you’ll be
in Fulton County at least an hour. It’s physically that big.
So…. do you want to spend any $$ to a county who’s DA is preparing
to bring charges against Trump? Don’t gas up, eat, stay, attend concerts,
get snacks, attend Braves games, or give money to Fulton County. It’s
easy: just pay attention to the following outline.
Going down 1-75 South? Gas up, stay, or eat before Lake Alatoona.
(Cherokee County is a good rule of thumb).
Going North on 1-75? Do the same as above for $$, just at or before
McDonough exits
Going East on 1-85? Try to do so before hitting the Gwinnett County
line, or by Sattelite Boulevard exit at the latest.
Going the other direction? Spend your money at Peachtree City, Newnan.
Going East on 1-20? No money spent after Conyers, Covington.
Going West on 1-20? Save your money by Douglasville exits , at the latest.
Make doubly sure that you gas up on the outskirts of the above areas, because
if you are visiting anything around 285, it’s too late. Much of it is in Fulton.
Or Dekalb, which is equally corrupt.
If you are coming 2outh on GA 400, get everything by Forsyth County (Buford).
All the towns on the wide portion of 400 below it are in Fulton County, (except
Dunwoody. Dekalb).
Start getting these plans in place before your travel, and post on websites what
you’ve done. And tell your like minded friends the same. Make Fulton County GA
the next Bud Light.

I was just blessed with watching 2 of these spectacular Mississippi Kites hawking Cicada’s over my house. They put on a show for 10 minutes or so. First time, as my previous sightings were just flyovers. They are majestic in their flight patterns, especially watching their dives down towards the trees to catch them in flight.
