What happened in Paris with James was more an “incident” than a performance. The result was one of the more stupid, artless, presentation of a famous artist in music history.

If anyone is interested in reading more about RockNRoll during the 70’s-80’s “Hotel California” is a very good history—and s great summer read—about this important musical period. During this period, you had a number of extremely talented 20-somethings who moved to LA and then made themselves both rich and famous. More than a few—as the above commentary mentions—didn’t handle their wealth and celebrity well. They especially didn’t handle their relationships well at all. Sadly, too many never seemed to be able to make lasting relationships work.
As a matter of fact, in addition to Carly Simon and Linda Ronstadt, most of the women in the rock world never seemed to form lasting relationships. Both Simon and Ronstadt are single to this day, for instance.
They’re probably wealthier staying single!

James Taylor was famosly married to Carly Simon. They had at least one child together. Then they divorced. It was not especially amicable because there was a lot of hurt for both. In interviews James admitted that it was drugs and immaturity that was so problematical that drove them apart. I think they were casualties to the times, honestly. The song was a fitting lament for tragic loss. Glad I never experienced anything like that. Found my soulmate and stayed with her (or better—she stayed with me) for 55 years . . .
But I was there, an educated observer, and watched the entire “counterculture” evolve and . . . ultimately transform into contemporary, modern life . . . Scheech 🙂

As we understand, every Book of the Scriptures is for showing a particular aspect of Christ. And in each of these several aspects, do the same things reoccur and overlap, so to speak; like many witnesses to the same persons, purposes, and events. The five Books of Moses all have their part; the Historical Books also have their respective purposes; each one of the Prophets had a various role; and the Writings as well, are given for teaching us the things of Christ.
The Psalms are, in the simplest terms, the Holy Spirit teaching us how to pray; while at the same time tell of the life of Christ in this present evil world; about how to discern judgment, the cross of Christ and the sufferings of both Him and His church, necessary to bring redemption and judgment; and then the coming of the LORD and the everlasting kingdom of God over all the earth.
Psalm 119 is an acrostic prayer, (that is, the first word of each verse of the stanza, begins with the same letter of the alphabet; starting with Aleph, Beth, Gimel, Daleth, etc.), and both describes, and analyses, and takes account, in order to supplicate God’s mercy and saving strength; that is, of the life of Christ in the Spirit, and how to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil. The prevalent theme throughout, as I see it, is the good and honest heart hungering for God; and accounting for all our weakness and utter dependence; as well the action that must be taken on our part, as the proof of our righteousness and integrity, if we are to be counted worthy of God’s mercy, and the resurrection from the dead.
Each and every various word used, as you point out, for the word of God, His law, His judgments, statutes, precepts, matters, etc; all speak to a particular aspect of the Spirit, and so too, for our instruction. In other words,
“But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11)
So God has provided for us through His Son, that we should now have His Spirit, and His Word, that we should know the things of God: as it is written, We have the mind of Christ.

Her hours have been cut, much likely in anticipation of school starting very soon 8/3, but I anticipate her hours increasing, as word is about half dozen team members all gave notice – so will be interesting to see the reorganization.

Morning, dear Woo. Our grandlads who work at a similar restaurant find their hours up and down.
And like Savannah, they’ve been told by their employer he wishes he had hundreds just like them.
Yes, youngsters come and go, and school will see a lot quit for obvious reasons. But as with Savannah, our young men always show up and on time, often close, and give the job best every single shift. This seems to be a rarity more and more these days from people their age…and older.

I have no doubt of your grands’ work ethics. They have wonderful examples to emulate!
In full disclosure – I do NOT allow Savannah to close the restaurant at 11 PM. She did two or three times and when I arrived to pick her up – the boys on duty were AWFUL in their manners expressing how they were going to meet “their sluts and hoes” after hours, cursing and carrying on – obviously showing out and off – and there were many teens coming and going at the apparent hang out.
They were not professional… at all… and I wondered how the owner of an apparently Christian establishment would feel seeing the behaviors so outlandish.
So – yes, I did lay down the law a little and between that and her surprise week and half off for surgery – they may have some heartburn. So be it. They’ll get over it.
I found it best that she work and come home at a reasonable hour for a girl who is not yet driving herself. When she arrives home, she immediately launders and hangs her uniform and showers the chicken stench off (less she be eaten by the cats during her slumber – ha ha) – so she’s up an additional 1 1/2 hours when she comes home. Considering I wake at 5:30 AM virtually every morning… I think 10 PM with an 11:30 PM bedtime is quite late enough for her.
She needs her sleep and so do I. Especially when school starts.
She has learned a few of my skills at my office – as an Office Manager / Bookkeeper. I’d like to teach her more to increase her skill sets and make her even more employable. Maybe even within my own company – however I think one slave to that master from my family might be quite enough. LOL
If our lads were lasses, I wouldn’t either. Absolutely not.
As for where she works…
Something happened in the last three years or so which has altered my view of this “Christian” eatery. I know they are franchised. Still. My view of them has altered in many ways.
Savannah’s light will always shine I know, no matter who is smart enough or lucky enough to take her on. Of this I have no doubt.💕

I appreciate your message more than you know. Let’s not forget Frank Fields, JustStevie, Phoenix, Lorrie with her precious middle-schoolers she stewards, and Lord knows our friends who are currently silent for unknown reasons.
It is daunting seeing the changes out there – in systems – software – people – above all – in SPIRITS – it is absolutely bringing to fruition that which we learned from Holy Scripture and it makes GOD MORE REAL in His teachings, warnings… and PROMISES.
God’s the ONLY ONE WHO keeps me going. Only one. My daughter the only one who forces me out of bed and into fighter stance each morning. More and more so, that fighter stance gets harder physically, especially. This world we live in now – was so much unexpected. We learned about it in God’s Word, but I never dreamed in a million years, we would be living it – and it would come to pass in our lifetimes.
The only thing left wondering is how far will it go in our lifetimes? Will it go all the way? Will God return in our lifetimes??? If so, how honored are we to witness His Glory?
It’s different when we pray to “live is Christ and to die is gain”. Do we mean it? More and more, I realize I do… because living with the demons of this world is not attractive to me and I want none of their games. they have nothing of their ill-gained kingdom to offer me – and I gladly have my freedoms and comforts stripped away – all for the PROMISE OF GLORY IN GOD’S ETERNITY.
Thank you for your prayers. It is those that sustain us.

Those who lead congregations are simply serving the Lord. There is no spiritual hierarchy. Belonging to and serving Christ is the first priority. When it comes to the local church, each person must follow the Lord’s leading as to where they fit best in serving Him. God’s family is in Christ alone.
Pray that today’s church would look to Jesus above all. Intercede for the church in the U.S. and around the world to grow in Christ—in faith, character, and service to Him. Pray for the unity of the Church to grow as believers watch for His appearing.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

LOL! No rehab today but I did go to the health club for a good workout. Now waiting for Busy Lizzie to get back from her writers’s group so we can cook some venison backstrap and tenderloin. I brown it then throw in mushrooms, peppers, green onions, garlic and a bunch of spices with a lot of red wine in the pan and it’s soooo good. Found the other day some hatch peppers that will go in the dish.
No wine drinking with it tonight though, I’m saving me having wine with the once a week beef that will be Friday or Saturday.
And don’t worry, I won’t mention a word to Mo. 🙂

Making my old dad’s casserole this morning. Haven’t been able to post too much – high demand. But, this I’ll share for those who don’t have Cardiologists on speed dial (GrandpaM and Chris – don’t listen!!! XXXOOO)
In a bread pan, place in this order:
Butter the bread pan (or we like to use Smart Balance – just tastes good)
Double stacked frozen hashbrowns – use about five of them. Layered two high – with the fifth cut in half and layered.
Canned corned beef – cut into thirds – laid on top of the hash browns.
7 beaten eggs with about 1 cup of whole milk, blended. pour over top of corned beef and hashbrowns
Course black pepper – NO SALT – you’ve got plenty of salt in this recipe with the corned beef
3 slices of American cheese (yeah – processed I know… it tastes good)
Cook in the oven at about 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or so??? I wanted low and slow today – teens are slow to wake up on their summer days. I have cooked this at 400 degrees for roughly 25 minutes. You just have to slip a butter knife in to catch it when it comes out clean to know it’s done.
So much of what I do is by taste, by sight, and by experience living in my kitchen and communing with those I love through meals around the table.
Suggestions: serve the above with your favorite salsa, a little ketchup, and/or chopped fresh chives or fresh parsley.

We do like our wings spicy – to say the least. Our salsa is more flavorful than impactful! We are salsa snobs. The only store bought salsa we like is from Fresh Thyme and it is the Tequila Lime Medium heat. Yuuuummmooo. I want to be able to taste all the elements of a salsa and not have some ingredients masked by others. You can taste the maters, the cilantro, the lime — yummm. The store is not super close to where we live anymore – so we buy 4 or 5 jars at a time and stash it in our cupboard. Can’t run out of salsa – or Frank’s hot sauce – or Tabasco – in my house.
The weirdest thing, reading reviews of mild salsa. Why on earth would anyone complain that mild isn’t spicy? Just buy it with more spice.
I personally feel that if it has peppers, it can’t be mild. But the Mexican cooks I’ve watched say that if it doesn’t have peppers, it isn’t salsa. There is still a little room for us to both get our way, but that would upset the people who want to buy mild but eat spicy.
Hot and spice both mean something very different. But we misapply both of them to a substance that just causes pain.
Those same cooks talk about the different flavors of each form of each pepper. With all the pain, how can anybody tell what the underlying flavor is? Though to me, the horrible flavor of buffalo wing sauce does overwhelm any pain it causes.
I used to enjoy eating peppers. Until the pain struck the other end. Now I prefer to keep the pain at a low enough level that I can still taste the food. That also usually prevents suffering the pain twice.
I hear ya Jim. I used to joke that when you ate really hot peppers you got the heat twice. LOL! But I’ve observed that the further North you got from Texas the milder the salsa in the Mexican restaurants.
I myself have cut back on the heat quite a bit. Especially since I don’t eat chips anymore. Nowadays I sprinkle some of the salsa on my fajitas.

I have 2 Blackhaw Viburnum’s which have never produced flowers/fruit (first time I have had these) and have come to the conclusion that they need a cross pollinator as many Viburnums do. Wanted to say hi to Bet and the gang here. I’m hoping a get a Bluebird brood #3, as I can cleaned out nest #2 and now waiting for a new one, hopefully. I’ve had a couple of visits from juvenile & adult Red-Shouldered Hawks and Broad Winged Hawks lately which does not please my local Cardinals. Have a blessed day everyone.

Yes, I think they do. The last three days, a male and female come to the French and tree about ten feet from where I sit. Also, there’s no most fast flying past me; they know there’re safe .
