Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

✝️ DAILY DEVOTIONAL, July 24, 2023
Good morning and thank you, Dan.
Something for us all for Monday…and every day thereafter…
I hope everyone has a stress free week🙏🏻💕
Is the Eeyore? Beautiful!
It certainly is, my friend🤗 So glad to see you in this neck of the Tree🌻💕
Good morning Bet! No Eeyore for me today. Nipper is up and off with his dad and stepmom to some fun place and I am still trying to get the recumbent bike to go down the hallway. ❤️😍
LOL
Good afternoon duchess! The place is getting busier and they’ve decided to stick to the 1 hour time slots. I was able to linger for an hour and a half and do more stuff but today they were sticking to the schedule.
Awww…Soweee Gramps !!! Best part is they cannot hold YOU back !!!
Proud of your moxie, Gramps !!! 💙🧚🏻♀️💙
Good morning, G!!!💕 I hope he has a wonderful time, I really do, and that his dad is in a better place so as to be in a more stable position for Nipper🙏🏻
Chris is still pedalling away with his under the desk pedal machine, increasing the length of how long he does it each time. Getting his muscle tone back and how! Going to the store for me on a daily basis first thing in the morning to get one or two items I’ve “forgotten”…I say “forgotten” because I want him to walk which he wouldn’t otherwise do. Every little helps, right?😁 I never thought I’d see the day when he would be able to do any of what he’s doing without keeling over from lack of breath. God has been merciful🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
So get those legs a’pumpin’!! You’ll have legs like oak tree trunks in no time. 😘👍🏻
(got a mental pic of you screaming down the hall and taking sharp corners without slowing down😂😂😂)
LOL. 🤣🤣🤣
Right?? Fan get that picture out of my head now😁
With nurses scattering in every direction. 🤣🤣🤣 Great news about Chris! You just keep forgetting things. 😁😘
Haha!! One was off the hood, one off the bumper, another just clipped by the wing mirror😂😂😂 Yep, one in every direction!
Yes, I “forget” 😎💕
If anyone knows how to stress, it is our buddy Eeyore! 🫏💕
If he can de-stress, anyone can!😉🌷
♥️🙏” …God is with us and though the whole world may be against us, if we have God with us, what does it matter?” 🙏♥️
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Good morning, Mr jay💕🌻
Am I the first to arrive? Looks as if there are plenty of chairs for all our friends…most thoughtful, dear sir😊
Maidin Mhaith Betsy lots of room this morning 😂🤠🇺🇸
Glorious!🌿😁
Morning jay! Is that the tasting room at the local still?
Howdy Gramps,Yes they make an excellent Rye whiskey ten years for 115 proof 😋😋
Mornin’ jay 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
JC and EA.
Superb!
Thanks.
😎😎
Dear Lord, I love this Tree House. I’d had forgotten to remember Ed Ames, Fess Parkers sidekick (no sidekicks left behind) in the Daniel Boone TV series, or was it Davy Crockett?
Ed Ames also had a hit song, “The Wind They Call Mariah.” I did enjoy being a kid.
Daniel Boone series, Ed passed May of this year I’m thinking 🤔 When TV taught morales. 🤠
☺️
I’m still a kid!! The mirror says I’m not, but inside? Well, you know…😉💕
I enjoyed that
😎
Thanks my pleasure 😇
The Melting Cat

Me after this very long weekend 😪
Our cats went toe-to-toe again with a snake and even though the cat won in the end, the cat got trapped between the snake and the wall and ended up striking the Thai cat ( Siamese ) on the leg:
The Thai cat ended up getting sick, didn’t eat for 5 days, but the little Burmese cat, some orphan we found wandering out in the country by the side of road when it was kitten, ended up taking care of it and wouldn’t leave it’s side the whole time:
Thai cat kept pushing the little one out of way to keep it away from the snake and in the process got hit. The photo above was when it finally got the snake in a death grip around the back of the neck.
For those that don’t think cats make great protectors, they are vicious when push comes to shove. This was taken in Pattaya a few hours away:
We live on a hill that was copperhead country. Five cat rescues later, no snakes! Bless our furbabies!
Amen to that ! We live in a little village in the middle of nowhere in Thailand, about 15 km from the Cambodian border, and we have so many poisonous snakes here that you have to assume any snake you see is poisonous, as well as the big lizards and scorpions.
We picked up the stray Burmese cat because it had been living in the wild as a kitten, but it is extremely affectionate to people. The Thai people are very superstitious so they think cats are of a divine nature and now the Burmese cat sleeps with the daughter every night and ever since, her nightmares have went away.
We bought the Thai cat because we wanted a beautiful, pure-blooded natural Siamese cat, but it ended up being an outdoor cat that hunts all day and night. It use to be a nice white color with brown extremities, almost show quality, now it looks like it’s been playing in the dirt all day because it’s coat changes when the temperature changes and it’s the hot/humid season right now:
Many people don’t realize that cats are excellent against snakes, poisonous or not. Here, the snakes get into shoes and small crevices and many times, you don’t notice them until they strike. The cats already took down a King Cobra and had that been one of us, the daughter, or even the dog, it could of killed us.
So we love our little furry friends and treat them like they’re one of the family.
Good morning, Gabriel😊 I’ve always thought a house becomes a home with a cat(s) or dog(s) in residence. They are as much family as anyone else. Someone is looking very smart in that lovely pic…fashion wise and other wise💕😉
Greetings Betsy Jones ! So nice to hear from you !
Yeah, we were going to pamper him, keep him inside, comb his coat, feed him expensive food with tons of vitamins, which we still do, but in the end, he wanted to stay outdoors. He only comes in at night when he lays on top of my wife for attention and sleeps there all night.
Those things are monsters for the first nine months you own them. They attack, claw, and kill everything. After that, they really settle down and are some of the best pets you can have.
For sure they define their own lives, my friend, and how they will live them, humans not withstanding.
We are but bit players, at least until we are summoned onto their stage, understudies no more😉💕
And when they deign to give us their affections…purrs, nose rubs, and all…there is no word to adequately describe how wonderful it is. I am so glad your lovely lad is recovering. Remembering your and your wife’s immense sorrow a while back. I read enough of that post to break my heart as well. Be well, Gabriel…all of you💕
What an incredible story! We lived in the Philippines when I was a kid, so I can somewhat relate. Bless you and the family, babies and furbabies alike!
And your big kitty is simply beautiful! 😍
Good evening, Gabriel. Love your beautiful furbabies!
We love our four cats too. They are in the house during the day but are at the door to go out in the evening. We do not see any mice or chip monks all year long. We have four dogs too and they all get along since they were all raised together. Living in the woods, it is nice not to have some of these woods critters getting into things.
Now that black kitty looks like one of my kits who owns me. Longest tail I’ve ever seen on a kitty. Have learned there is such a thing as a long tailed Manx. See you next weekend.
His day job…
Oooooo GOODY!!!
My Cat Lady Starter Kit has ARRIVED!!
Good Grief!!! So much adorableness in a box! 👍😃😍❤😉😎
Just what I ordered, Feisty. Just glad they got here before the UPS strike! Phew!!😉😎
Please send website ASAP!
Hahahahahaha!👍🏻😁

Good morning Patience! ❤️
Good morning, Pa❣️
Careful in that hallway …
-remember the kitchen floor awaits. 💞
A little swoon dancin’ ? Right JWoo? Patience? Sigh . . . 🙂 🙂
Wow, Garrison!💕 The old ones really are the best, aren’t they. What a smooth selection as I sit here with a final cup of tea before bed. Elegant songs, elegant times.
The QE2 is a perfect performance space for this kind of music. I’ve been there a couple of times and, depending on who’s performing, it is truly a magical space—you really do feel as though you are in a 40’s movie. . . I can just imagine what that evening with Carly Simon must have been like. Wow. Take all of our prom nights to the 10th power and then some . . .
I can only imagine!! It certainly had that feel all right.
I guess we just had to be there . . . Obviously the crowd was having a great time! Hopefully, this is 2nd best . . . 🙂
I’ll take it, dear friend. And say thank you for it🤗👍🏻
🙂
You’ve outdone yourself with today’s set of Carly Simon songs
Morning, benzy😊 Stayed up late listening. Had to listen again this morning.
Mornin, Bet 🙂 Me too. She really captures the moment, doesn’t she?
Being familiar with her songs, I never expected these. She did them justice all right. What a treat your selections were. They’ll stay with me for quite a while.🌻
Hiya, Betsy…
I couldn’t help but slip down the list after viewing the Simon renditions to hear the Tony Bennett versions. Sigh…
Hey, JWoo 💕
Sigh indeed. I seem to be doing a lot of that myself lately. Especially when we lose the great voices. So table songs with lyrics that mean something…poetry really…and that we can actually understand.
🙂
……sigh
😎
Mornin’ Patience, darlin. 🙂 Wouldn’t it have been great to have been there? When I saw that elegant crowd, I immediately thought of you and JWoo. Haven’t danced like that in many, many years . . .
How swell of you, my man Garrison. 🫠
-Bill Just Wants To Dance With Myrna.
-I just wanna dance with you
Awww, shucks (scuffing toe . . .). What a great video this is, Patience. Perfection. Suddenly, I’m 15 again and watching old movies trying to figure out why my dancin’ was so like stompin’ . . . 🙂
The Texas Stomp!!!! Just as long as you didn’t squish your partner’s toes😁
🤠👻
💖
Morning Garrison!
Afternoon Gramps!
Good early evening, Garrison! Yes, very much swoon worthy.
What a lovely evening that would have been on the Elizabeth 2.
We try to attend some of these classics when we stumble upon them.
My daughter is more subdued than I and she rarely will dance with me, but I’m hoping as she grows older, she’ll have a beau who will teach her how fun dancing can be.
Maybe that would be a fun Christmas gift… dancing lessons?
I pray our world gives us peace so that we can enjoy evenings under the stars again.
When I was 15 I would have asked her to dance . . . in hopes I could figure out how to be as smooth as the folks in the movies . . . Oh well . . . And weren’t the dancing couples on the QE2 smooth? Wow were they good. But, then, it was L.A.
Definitely I vote for the dancing lessons. For most folks especially young women they are rites-of-passage. Wish I’d known that when I was 15. 🙂
Be well, Love. It’s always good to hear from you.
Awww, G.. she’s a really pretty girl. She’s reserved and not prone to cut loose… but someday Stella will find her groove. She’s 17… and my gun is loaded. Lol
Wonderful idea!!
Then at some time bridge lessons (my mother said it would be smart to learn. Didn’t until I was about 25 but should have as so many dorm girls were always looking for a fourth). Opened up a lot of social connections because I learned…and loved it.
And maybe eventually tennis…same rationale.
Look at me spending your money!!! LOL!!!!🤗😘
You’re a good guide, Betsy.
WP’s

⁷I’m in puppy 🐶 love ❤️
Tonight, Lord, I thank You for strangers’ love and compassion. May we all be able and willing to help a unknown soul who seeks Your compassion and love in their neediest time. Amen.
Mims, I wanted to say more when I saw your post on yesterday’s late thread. My heart broke into pieces for you and I am still looking for most of them, sweet lady. This Tree is a wonderful place to be when we need to feel the love and compassion of others, because all of us at one time or another have needed both.
This is what I wanted to tell you and the reason I am so thankful to see you here.
CS Lewis wrote a thin volume which I hope you will consider and which has given comfort to so so many called “A Grief Observed”.
In it he chronicles his journey during terrible grief from loss to anger at God (he was brutally honest about that) to understanding and a sort of peace which I’m sure grew as time went on.
Many who have read it have said here they found that in reading it they found much comfort in it. I suggest it as your friend, dear lady, and I hope you might as well.
And I hope we’ll see you more often on this branch where we always gather and support one another through all life’s trials which come to us all🙏🏻💕 with affection ….Bet😘
Thank you dearest, Bet. What a lovely thoughtful gift, I shall read it immediately. For some reason, I have been unusually sad this year, 9yrs after my son passed. I think of him everyday, of the beautiful soul he is, and miss him all the more.
And I’m ever so happy and grateful for finding this special branch of the beautiful Treehouse, filled with remarkable and loving people, like you.
💕🙏
I think we are all feeling that sadness this year in one way or another. But for those like you who have lost a child…and yes, no matter how old they get, they are always our children…especially on an anniversary of their going Home, I know the grief goes through you like a knife.
My husband lost his 2 lads long ago. So I can feel the sorrow with you.
I re-read your post above. I believe in the deepest part of me that we here are not strangers, but family who simply do not know one another by our faces but by our hearts. I can think of only two other sites like this one in that regard, and it is the same for the people who show up every day as we do to share their lives…their joys, their sorrows, their worries, their prayers, and everything else that joins them in one humanity.
I lurk on those other two, but this one blessed site is my home and all the people on it so precious to me.
What a blessing!
I think you’ll find Mr Lewis’s book incredibly readable and will probably finding yourself nodding in agreement on each page. Praying that it will help, dear Mims 🙏🏻🕊💕😘
Blessings always.

Good Monday morning all!
It’s Indiana Speed week! There are 8 races this year. This is the 35th year they have run this high prestige race series.
Indiana Sprint Week Expands To Eight Events – SPEED SPORT
It started Friday night at the 1/4 mile semi banked track in Gas City. The second race Saturday night was at the 1/4 mile semi banked track at Kokomo. Last night they ran at the high banked 3/8 mile track in Lawrenceburg. Some great racing! And some violent crashes taking out some of the favorites. Here are the highlights of the three races run so far.
Saturday night at Kokomo
And last night at Lawrenceburg. There were FOUR red lights at that race last night and a single car crash that was the most violent I have seen in some time. That crash is not shown in the highlights. Alex Bright driving car #27 starting on the inside of the 2nd row caught the tire of another car on the inside at the start and rolled all the way down the length of the straight first rolling side over side and then end over end. When he stopped the car was right side up and his arm was hanging out of the car and his head slumped forward. That is very unusual since drivers in those cars have straps that restrain their arms against the extreme G forces that can be experienced in the event of a crash like that but this one was so violent that a strap apparently failed. He was not moving and we were afraid it had killed him. Two sprint car drivers have lost their lives at that track the last few years. Justin Owen a veteran racer died there April this year. The young man that crashed last night survived and was conscious when extracted and waved to the crowd as he was loaded into the ambulance. I can find not report on his condition.
Brady Bacon aka: “The Macho Man”, started 22nd last night and finished 3rd. He has the point lead in the series.
Tonight they will be racing on a new track in the series at the Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis. It is another 1/4 mile semi banked track.
Howdy Rob been watching on the Flosports always a good week 😁😁
That’s what we’ve been watching. Will be watching tonight.
Can’t figure why they aren’t showing that crash at the start.
Philosophy anyone?
Good morning all.
Philosophy anyone?
Do you admire our host, as I do, for his critical thinking and analysis skills?
How about a discussion on developing the same skills, the same tool kit?
Interested?
Western culture developed in part by looking only at the facts and then dealing with them. Logic unaffected by how the observer feels about the facts.
Is such a discussion too acidic on a thread which increasingly offers a beautiful escape with the like minded from our corrupted culture?
I would invite Sundance or any of the mods if they have the time and the inclination to weigh in about the search for the facts and how it effects evaluation of politics, politicians and people.
The reason? If you want to be a culture warrior and save western civilization you must be able to think, screen and react more like Sundance.
Thinking, analyzing, then putting it down in a form that makes us all think in directions we’ve never considered, on aspects of an issue and people hiding in plain sight we might not have seen otherwise. This is confirmed by reading the incredible comments which always follow.
It doesn’t matter which thread you placed your praise of the wonderful thinking man whose site this is.
Another thing…
Praise (and lots of it!!!) and gratitude goes to Ad rem, Menagerie, WeeWeed, and Stella. Because their faithful watching and monitoring are essential if we are to enjoy the benefits of our beloved Tree’s Thinker-in-Chief. And that is just a fact.😎
God bless each and every one of our beloved hosts always🙏🏻💕
Exactly! 👍💕
A friend’s homeschooling includes exactly this !! In addition to the Bible, French, sports, Constitution, community involvement, philosophy, old fashioned math, piano, autoharp, myriad field trips, etc.
The type of homeschooling with students meeting at rented space, parents hired PhD in education, he’s in his 60’s/old school.
I volunteer for the field trips. Life is good.
Poyeema.. I taught in Public schools 65’ to 2000.. Jr High.. SrHigh.. Jr College.. I will tell you homeschooling is really the way to go ..I know all parents can’t handle it but for those that can ..👏👏👏👍 good for them..the field trips are excellent..reading for comprehension is the single most important skill..
🇺🇸💪😀👍
Oh how I agree with that, Jim!! Comprehension…the seed from which grows thinking, then thinking critically. You wise, wise man 👍🏻😎
Good Monday to you, monti💕
Too soon, coffee first😎👍🏻
Good morning Betsy, already busy with chores. I have to limit my participation here like I limit chocolate or sweets. Wouldn’t get a thing done otherwise lol. Say maybe a mocha now?
Have a good day spreading cheer here at the tree.
Hahahaha!! Same, my friend. Only I seem to be not as disciplined in that regard as you are😁
Late here Betsy but wanted to jump in to wish a very joyful and Blessed day..🙏🙏😀👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
Bless you, Jim, and good morning at the start of this new week. And I do wish for you every blessing coming.🙏🏻💕 Stay cool, my friend🌻😘
Okay, I just have to say it ……
There was a statue of the thinker on University of Louisville’s campus.

2 Kings 5 – The Healing of Naaman the Syrian, and the ruin of Gehazi
“Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valor (force, strength and determination in facing danger), but he was a leper. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! For he would recover him of his leprosy. And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. And the king of Syria said, Come on (to encourage him to hurry up), go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come to you, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy. And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.
And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, For what reason have you rent your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean? Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing of your servant. But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused. And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray you, be given to your servant two mules’ burden of earth? For your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD. In this thing the LORD pardon your servant, that when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon your servant in this thing. And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.
But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him. So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well? And he said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray you, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments. And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him. And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and stowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed. But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Where do you come from, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went no where. And he said unto him, Went not my heart with you, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave to you, and to your seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.”
What things impressed you out of this story? A valiant and honorable man of an “enemy” country, through whom it says, that God had given deliverance to Syria? A little maid stolen from her home and made to serve in that same man’s house; yet having the kind of heart, that would wish for him to be healed, if he could only meet the prophet Elisha? How about the king of Israel, who should have known right away; but the things of God were the farthest from his mind?
What parts stand out to you? The part where the real man of God refused to associate money with the works of God? The part where the greed and uncleanness in Gehazi’s heart could no longer be hid, when the opportunity came, and he could not resist?
We saw something similar in Acts chapter 5, with Ananias and Saphira: which tells us, how God hates covetousness and lying; and how jealous He is of the purity of His church; by giving one example for the whole age, what those kind should expect.

Treasuring your beautiful words, mo. Thank you from my heart, bless-ed friend. I am so glad you had time with your gorgeous and loving daughter. When our chilluns (as my much loved mother in law called all hers and her grands) grow and have busy and busier lives of their own, those times take on more meaning and become that more precious. I always wish there were at least a pause button when I see mine, which isn’t often…ah well…
As long as life is treating them well, I’m content in simply knowing that.
And yes! Loved those squirrels!! Saw an episode of the mystery series “Morse” where a Durer plays an important part, so I was so glad to see that he is your chosen artist today. You really do bring so much to our branch. Grateful, you have no idea how much🍀😊🤗💕
AMEN GOES RIGHT THERE, BET !!! ❤️
An undeniable truth. Remembering when he first set up home in a vacant branch. Who could foretell how much he’d bring with him, duchess? Not I, I can tell you.
And this a remarkable Tree?
You’d think as it has grown exponentially, it would run out of branches!! Yet it always puts out more to accommodate anyone and everyone who wants one. Can’t help but think of the Loaves and Fishes 🙏🏻🌿💕
Unfortunately, I do not recall that bless-ed day he arrived – but I KNEW he was coming – from where exactly – I did not know – BUT – he was searching for a place where he would not get lost in the crowd – his heart was heavy – he needed a respite – some peace – before he stepped out into the open air – and gave it his all – for God’s Glory !!!
How do I know this ??? If you have to ask that question – you really do not know me !!!
Yes – it has grown exponentially for sure – God is gathering His remnant – you know – from all of the corners of the earth – for His purpose !!!
You were not always here – perhaps, you needed a respite, too !!! ❤️
OK – I be quiet now !!! 🥺 💙🧚🏻♀️💙
No I wasn’t always here, but I do remember when I stuck my toe in the water comment wise.
It was when Sundance was unceremoniously and with little notice thrown off by WordPress. Until then I’d read, was an intrepid lurker. And in order to get onto the Treehouse after he moved, we had to enter a password, which I did.
After that I thought, well, I’m signed in…go on, put a comment in. And it snowballed from there. Can’t shut me up!! 😂😂😂
This place is my respite…where on earth would we all be without it??
And each other😌🕊🍀😘
Nowhere I can even imagine, Bet !!! ❤️
So so true🙏🏻🌷💕

Two squirrels by Albrecht Durer

Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Magnificent!!! And yes, here we all are, Dear Lord. Thank you for your Holy presence amongst us🙏🏻🕊
Amen goes right there, Bet !!! ❤️
👬
Awww Molonlabe, so precious they are. We would name our squirrel friends and each were unique so easy to tell them all apart.
There was:
Crooked Tail Charlie
Fat Boy
Narrow Johnnie
Grayson
and last but not least… little Savanah junior for the single red squirrel who would come and hang out.
They always gave us a show.
When I was little, my father would feed the birds. Then he caught the squirrels pilfering, so he would buy 50 lb bags of corn and feed the squirrels too. I carried on the tradition and we feed them the premium stuff…nuts, seeds, dried fruits, corn.
Not once did they ever damage my home. We were really blessed by them and we miss them very much.
My daughter even named the trees… we are tree huggers…. but more literally then philosophically.
Love the names!😍
Beatrix Potter had a knack for naming…
Squirrel Nutkin.
Loved that one as well.
Lol… love it so much ❤️

Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.
I will sing to the Lord, for he is gloriously triumphant;
horse and chariot he has cast into the sea.
My strength and my courage is the Lord,
and he has been my savior.
He is my God, I praise him;
the God of my father, I extol him.
Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.
The Lord is a warrior,
Lord is his name!
Pharaoh’s chariots and army he hurled into the sea;
the elite of his officers were submerged in the Red Sea.
Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.
The flood waters covered them,
they sank into the depths like a stone.
Your right hand, O Lord, magnificent in power,
your right hand, O Lord, has shattered the enemy.
Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.
Mo, I was listening to this Canticle last night before I went to bed (the first time).
I can’t remember who posted it originally, but I knew I had to do again this morning.
It is so full of hope and assurances that Almighty God sees all, knows all, and his plans are, as ever, immutable and in progress.
Are we turning? It seems there are signs that we are doing exactly that.
Bless His Holy Name!!🙏🏻💕
“Canticle of the Turning”
It was I who posted it – We sang it in church – and
a family member played the piccolo, too !!!
So – It speaks volumes to me as well, Bet !!!
Hope and Pray others see its relevance to
the times in which we live !!!
I honestly believe God is going to
move His Mighty Hand – and
take the evil ones out !!!
PRAISE GOD !!! ❤️🧚🏻♀️❤️
Ahhhhh….I had an inkling it was🤗!!
I think He is moving His Mighty Hand right now, sis. Just get that feeling that the infection that is suppurating evil has been lanced. And we are turning to the Great Healer for complete restoration of the soul of our benighted country. It will take time of course. His, not ours…but I sense it is happening one day at a time🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
YES !!! 😃
Praise God !
☘️
It’s beautiful Bet
Just like duchess
Beautiful !

Oh I so agree!!
On both counts😁🌷😉🍀

Albrecht Dürer was one of the leading figures of the Northern Renaissance, who created masterpieces in the mediums of drawing, paintings and printmaking. He also made significant contributions to the exchange of knowledge between the Italian and the Northern Renaissance, and established important relations with representatives of Italian Renaissance. Throughout his life, Dürer made two trips to Italy, where he acquired vital knowledge of proportions, anatomy and perspective. He then dedicated extensive portions of his life to spreading this theoretical knowledge, making it available to younger artists in Four Books of Human Proportion (publ. c. 1528) and Instruction in Measurement (1525).

Good morning, Poyeema. I have always thought that our Lord Jesus was weeping not for Himself and for what He knew was coming for Him. Is it too much to believe that He was seeing all the sins of the world then and those sins which have happened since? And those which we can see all too clearly and too horrifically now? I wonder…🙏🏻🕊
Betsy, talk about a cross to carry– the weight of the world! I read an historical account of the life of Jesus a few years ago. I almost could not finish it. It was very graphic. The torment He experienced — the cruelty of the time — breaks my heart.
I teach the history of ancient civilizations to middle school munchkins. Christianity is the last major world religion we study. Boy, do I have to water down the brutality of the times. The ancients created such beauty. The development of technology, and the accomplishments,–were amazing. Yet, those early empires were so very, very harsh.
When I allow myself to consider those times past, Lorrie, it is almost too much to bear. As you say, brutal and horrible. That men could do what they did to others without thinking twice through the thousands of years history.
And it continues today. Especially when I think of what is happening with our children, those born and those who were sent but who never make it to birth.
And this is why I wonder if He was seeing it all. To know the enormity of what He was about to undergo and why. The propitiation for all those terrible sins committed then and those in emitting ones after His sacrifice.
How you must love educating your young charges. God bless you for imparting your wealth of knowledge to them with dedication. Pouring what you know into their minds and hoping even part f it germinates. I’m betting long after your pupils are gone from your classroom and have made their way into the world, many of them will recall their time with you and know what a dedicated teacher they had🌻😘
Blessings to you. You have a very generous heart. 🌺
I adore my students. The feeling is mutual. We learn, but with some fun tossed into the mix!😊
You always receive in kind what you give, Lorrie. I’m sure you have loved each one of your students who crossed your threshold. And I’m certain they all have known it.💕
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will you Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! – Matthew 7:11
The greatest gift God has given humanity is His Son (John 3:16). Having redeemed your soul, God has also given you a purpose. With that purpose, He has also equipped you with whatever it is you need to accomplish it! The next great gift is the indwelling Holy Spirit, and it is He who imparts more gifts upon you. Oh, the generosity of the Lord!
The Bible reveals these gifts to include faith, healing, prophecy, proclamation, teaching, administration, reconciliation, compassion, and self-sacrificing service, and their purpose is to help and encourage other believers. In addition to the spiritual gifts that are often employed within the settings of the body of Christ, the Church, you have been given His Word, forgiveness, peace, grace, eternal life, love, hospitality, wisdom, confidence, hope, power, discernment, the universe to enjoy, a forever family, and prayer.
You can surely name more. Both the love you receive from the Savior and the love you have for Him draw you to be good and faithful stewards of these gifts.
Within the purposes of God, He has also equipped many members of government who are followers of Christ. They experience the onslaught of the enemy as they stand for truth, justice, and righteousness as outlined in God’s Word. Pray that they receive the power and love from the Lord they need today, and that they, and you, would daily grow closer to Him.

Good morning Poyeema
☘☘☘☘
Morning molonlabe.
Storms missed us last night. Yay, power off for many the previous 2 days of quick storms.
One cluster of neighbors no power for a day. Saw convoy of power trucks leaving my little rural city last night, PETAL TO THE METAL, in front of my house, 2 lane, lined with century old trees, 35mph speed limit. Probably 50mph and accelerating. Those trucks were from a mix of counties and providers. Impressive seeing rolling tonnage moving that fast. It’s own unique sound. Told a friend, he said it is legal for power trucks to do that, they are emergency responders. Sometimes with police escort.
Praise God those men/women & their work for others.
Hi Poy
They gotta move fast
We still have the best people on earth ,
Right here in the USA
Hard working men and woman
I’m glad you see and appreciate them.
We still are a great country
God bless Poyeema
Have a good day

Verse of the Day for Monday, July 24, 2023

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped…”

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!

Hello there, duchess😍
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
St. Michael by Raphael
Original – Prayer to St. Michael
“O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.
Bless-ed Monday, dear duchess💕 How wonderful to see friends back in the Tree. Praying mightily for those still absent and whose company we miss very much🙏🏻
OH, ME, TOO, BET !!! * SIGH *
AND YOU TAKE THIS ASSIGNMENT SERIOUSLY, TOO !!!
GOD BLESS YOU REAL GOOD !!! ❤️🧚🏻♀️❤️
Absolutely!! We can do no less when loved friends suddenly disappear. Never out of our thoughts…🌷💕
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
RECONCILIATION
We pray – Forgive us, Lord, for we have sinned
For what are we praying to throw to the wind
The righteous man sins seven times a day
Then we need forgiveness without delay
Sometimes hurts are difficult to excuse
The pain is so deep we simply refuse
We cannot forgive another for what
Has happened that caused the door to be shut
When we profess our love it is meant to be
A long lasting bond between he and she
Partners we are through the journey of life
We promised forever as husband and wife
Friends are the same as relationships go
There is love and trust and a bond we know
There are times when we come to disagree
Normal and natural it’s bound to be
When an offense is so grievously wrong
We cannot refuse or excuse it for long
Ignore it and it will fester and grow
Correct it before the fuse it will blow
God will not forgive us if we hold back
No matter how serious the attack
Pride has no place in the human domain
If that’s what stops us the pain will remain
It takes courage to admit we were wrong
It takes moxy to get to where we belong
It takes love to be very versatile
It takes God to openly reconcile

I am nobody special – to Him be the Glory !!! ❤️
Thank you for your love and encouragement !!! 💚💚💚
BTW – Did you catch up on your reading ???
HAVE A BERRY BLESSED DAY !!! ❤️💙💜
Your beautiful poem reminds me Mr Lewis’s admonition that we must forgive the inexcusable in others because God has forgiven the inexcusable in us.
Sometimes seems impossible to do. And that is why we need His grace so that it can grow in us enabling us to fulfill His Holy command… Seven times seventy🙏🏻
Amen goes right there, Bet !!! ❤️
Good afternoon duchess
I do remember saying something about catching up on reading . I think I’m all caught up .
I saw last night you said you was wondering about the other 50 % of me .

You know me by now 100%
What part of me would you like to know more about?
Did you ever see the pic of me as a young man, I posted it a long time ago, when I did , I posted some dates on it , so you would have been able to figure out my age. Did ya see that pic ?
☘️🍀☘️
My life is a work in progress duchess
And thanks to you and Bet , it’s progressing just nicely.
Just sayin 😊
Now, Dear Sir – Let me explain – you said you were 50 % Italian – so what is in the other 50 % – I asked !!!
A pic as a young man – Yes – Dapper with your lovely wife – must have missed the ‘dates’ part – tho’ – After all –
I was in shock – heart pounding furiously – so please excuse missing the dates – Age ??? No idea whatsoever !!!
Work in Progress – Oh – Can’t like that part – We are ALL working toward our mansions in the sky !!! 😃
You have passed your initial testing – Given up vices – Go to church – Made your daughter proud !!!
BTW – You could be 90 – and I would still be smitten – ask DG – LOL. 🙃
So – Culturally – what is in the other 50 % ??? I love the Italian part !!! But you do not cook enough pasta !!! 🥺
And – Prince Valiant – Do you still have your curly locks ??? 🥺
Off the top of my head – all I have for now – 😃. 💙🧚🏻♀️💙

I think there was a reason last night for my wakefulness. Able to grab hold of one of our family here in this Tree and throw my arms around her, as others did also. Pure chance I should stumble upon her comment? I don’t believe so…🙏🏻
Keep on keeping on, my loving friend. Headed towards that second cup of coffee!!💕😁👍🏻
YES, BET !!! PRAYER WARRIORS RARELY SLEEP !!!

I’m ending my day for the next six days with this beautiful prayer, duchess🙏🏻 Bless you, lady🌷

So the water heater went out Saturday night. Today I took the panel off an hit the reset button. There was an arc but no fire. Shortly there after the safety valve started spraying hot water. Over pressure. Obviously thermostat is bad. I kicked off the braker and then ran hot water into the kitchen sink and got the water to stop from spraying. That allowed me to reach the water shut off without being scalded by spraying hot water.
The plumber will be out here this afternoon. I bought that electric water heater at an auction that the Pendelton school system had where they were getting rid of excess stuff. That Bradford 60 gallon water heater was brand new.
The water heater that was in this house when we bought it was very old though still functioning. I had the new installed in November 2001 which was about a month after we moved in.
Though electric water heaters are considered repairable as long as the tank is not bad, I’m not fooling with it. Going to have the plumber install a new one. We have cleaned up the water and cleared the area for when the plumber comes.
When I get my garage built attached to the house the water heater and water softener and a new RO system will be put out in the first bay. I will also have a utility sink plumbed in there. That will free up space in the laundry area for a closet and a fold down ironing board.
Though this kind of stuff is a pain in the ass, I am just thankful that we have the money to just hire the plumber to deal with it. I HATE plumbing! Always have.
My kind of guy – Taking care of business !!!
Had a water heater poop out – BOOM – worthless !!!
Thank God the repairman had a mutual friend – OR
it would have cost a small fortune to replace !!!
Put the old one out for pickup in front by the road
and it was gone within a half hour !!!
Guess one man’s junk is another man’s treasure – eh, Rah ???
No plumbing skills here, either – but God gave me some
other gifts that do come in handy !!! PRAISE GOD !!! ❤️
HAVE A BERRY BLESSED DAY, RAH !!! ❤️💙💜
Oh golly, Rob!!!!!!! I think we avoided a problem like that…just. Ours starting making weird sounds so we bit the bullet and bought a new one on the advice of our very much trusted plumber and friend. And like you we were so grateful to be able to afford it because we cut our expenses to the bone a long time ago for that “just in case”.
As horrible as your ordeal is, this might be a blessing in the end because of this attack on civilization by whichever department it is that Granholm (first class dim bulb and hater of humanity) heads with new regs on water heaters.
They want heat pumps now.
In the UK, green ideologue and eugenecist Boris Johnson ordered that all of Britain be retro fitted with the damned things. And plenty of people got a head start installing them. Hideously expensive…only to find that they don’t work…AT ALL!! Those who stupidly got them are starting to rip them out to go back to their boilers as were.
So try to think of this horrible event at your house as one that is a hidden blessing in the end.
I am so sorry, and glad any damage wasn’t catastrophic.💕
That mall. What a huge waste. Now, we can sit on our widening butts and have junk food, booze and pot delivered. Anything else can be ordered for delivery from what has effectively become a retail near-monopoly.

Got about 1/2″ of rain last night here. We needed it and we need still more. A two day soaker would be nice but it looks like the occasional thunderstorm is what is most likely we’ll get for the next week or so. After a promising start the corn has gone through a very dry and hot two week spell. Got a feeling the yields around here will suffer for it this year.
Periodic rain showers here – but, much appreciated !!!
Pray for rain daily !!! 🙏🙏🙏
Still none here…
“O God, our heavenly Father, who by thy Son Jesus Christ hast promised to all those who seek thy kingdom, and the righteousness thereof, all things necessary to their bodily sustenance; Send us, we beseech thee, in this our necessity, such moderate rain and showers, that we may receive the fruits of the earth to our comfort, and to thy honour; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.”

I’m just learning all this and you are a great help.
The lil bunny
Famous

I knew I really liked him this am when I found him
Didn’t know he was famous

You should see all his scetches
Hundreds and hundreds of them
All good too

I love this painting, mo. Always have.
I’d never seen his squirrels which you posted. I fell in love with theme as well. Can you imagine a gallery wall in your house with a selection of these and more??
I have a short gallery wall in my open plan house which I couldn’t figure out what to put on it.
In the end, I put about 9 mirrors of various shapes and designs and sizes on it and it opened the whole house, bringing in tremendous light from an opposite window.
I say this because I could easily imagine a selection of prints of his beautiful animals. Think how fascinating that would be!!
Oh yes, he is very very famous indeed😊👍🏻🍀
Absotutalutely Amazing – The EYES !!!

Posing for a picture !!! 🥺

I’ve always been utterly charmed by this of his.
