Exactly. My “Little ‘Tink” fits perfectly on my shoulder. First I hear a small “thump”, then light walking as this tiny little creature deftly climbs along my torso. On reaching my upper shoulder, she then curls into a neat furry “bun” and goes to sleep. When she does this I dare not move. Not one inch. 🙂

While visiting we were amazed how quiet the 3 kids were playing on the second floor. Upon leaving we found out that they were at the neighbors. 😂😂😂

Speaking of quiet…Oh my gosh, G. You reminded me of the time mine were playing so quietly when the phone rang and it was their sister phoning from the nearby hometown pharmacy (Crooks’ Pharmacy) a block away telling me that the two I thought were playing so quietly (aged 3 and 4) had joined her and her friend and were (her words) “helping themselves to Mr Crook’s candy”.
They’d slipped out the door and followed after their sister who had left ten minutes before. I shot out of that house so fast I’m sure I left a trail of dust as you’d see in a Roadrunner cartoon.
Mr Crook was a friend and a dad himself so no harm done and was laughing at my two little ” crooks” who had walked hand in hand down to the scene of their crime.
Whenever I think about it now 35 years hence, I shudder. But those were different days in the small town we lived in. Nevertheless…

I recently spent $6,500 on this registered Black Angus bull.
I put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn’t even look at a cow.
I was beginning to think I had paid more for that bull than he was worth.
Anyway……I had the Vet come and take a look at him.
He said the bull was very healthy, but possibly just a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once per day.
The bull started to service the cows within two days……. all my cows!
He even broke through the fence and bred with all of my neighbor’s cows!
He’s like a machine!
I don’t know what was in the pills the Vet gave him … but they kind of taste like peppermint.
As we used to say in the the UK, he’s a big lad for his mother😁

According to the models in about 15 days conditions will be optimal for close in storm development along the east coast. Initial development could be subtropical like Don that is in the central Atlantic now.

And thus “climate change” will have to globe trot off to somewhere else and the weather in Europe will be ignored until something changes that the liars believe will support their alarmist agenda.
Over in the Eastern hemisphere SE Asia have been having record low summer temperatures, but you haven’t heard a thing about that I bet.
On any given day, somewhere on earth will be experiencing a weather extreme relative to averages. The whole tactic for advancing the climate change agenda is based on hyping those extremes which support the narrative while ignoring those that don’t. And when an extreme that runs counter to the narrative occurs that can’t be ignored, such as the heavy snows in the rocky mountain range last winter, then they will characterize that as being a result of climate change.
They are hyping Phoenix, AZ getting up to 115 deg. F! Well the normal high there this time of year is 108 deg. F! But you would think that a temperature that is just 7 degrees above the average for this time of year is terrible!
They are hyping Las Vegas getting hot! Did any of those reporting the recent high temps tell you that this heatwave ended a record period of 291 straight days that Las Vegas went without hitting 100 deg. F? That streak broke the record of 290 days set in 1964-65! And I’m positive that none of them have pointed out that the massive growth of the city around the Airport where those official temperatures are taken, causes an urban heat island effect that will naturally make the average temperatures increase by 2-3 deg. F. Na! Those facts don’t support the narrative!
As I write this it is the height of the melt season in the Arctic and yet your hearing virtually nothing about it this year. Why?
Because Arctic sea ice is above the 10 year mean and the Greenland ice dome has gained mass for 3 years running! In a week or so Greenland is going to get another massive snow storm right at the height of the melt season. You won’t hear anything about it on you “news” or weather reports. The Climate Change reporting will be elsewhere or if they do say something about Greenland it will be BS climate model projections for massive melt in the future some time.

Once again, as with Covid, the goal is to terrify the public about the environment so that we accept whatever “solution” the elites propose. Of course, their “solution” will somehow benefit them greatly in financial terms.
They use all kinds of deceptions. For example Dr. Ryan Maue has pointed out that some of the maps they are showing in publications and in the “news” are based on satellite data of surface temperatures. Surface temperature it that right at the skin of the earth IOW a the level of your feet. The generally run a degree or two higher than those taken from a standard weather station which is the temperature 2 meters or about 6′ above ground level.
Within the Arctic or Antarctic circle surface temperatures generally run lower than at 6′. At the equator they generally run higher. In the temperate zones is varies more but generally during the summer runs higher than the standard.

But now it is coming time for those that supported this crap and that bought into the government and presses line to start eating crow and to realize the implications of what they have supported:

Well this is OT, but I have to say it.
I foresee a huge “I told you so” coming. The fact that Ukraine has lost their war is becoming ever more evident. Their offensive was a disaster and now the very countries that promised to back them and their entrance into NATO are turning their backs on them. In the near future the evidence to back that fact will soon reach such a critical mass that all the Kings horses and men cannot hide it.
The ONLY people that have gained from that war are the Merchants of Death that make the weapons and the politicians that are on their payroll. The American tax payer has been robbed, our military ordinance stores raided, and massive numbers of Ukrainians and Russians have died or are suffering. Russia and China’s standing in the world will be increased and NATO’s standing diminished.
And all of that for WHAT?
The Ukranian offensive has been a disaster. It has gained virtually nothing and its spearhead is now broken. They have lost!
The Russians now have 10x the artillery the Ukrainians have. They have 5x the number of tanks and APVs. The Patriot systems cannot possibly deal with the swarms of drones the Russians are deploying.
Russia will win. I have said that from the beginning. Not because that is the result I want but because my military judgement was from the beginning that Ukraine simply did not have the ability to win even with NATO backing. They simply do not have the manpower and one cannot build an effective combined arms force on the fly in the short time they have tried to do so. Having weapons is one thing. Knowing how to use them most effectively to achieve one’s objectives is quite another thing altogether.
Have any of you sis-boom-bah types that jumped so hard on the fabricated back Ukraine wave to protect Europe and democracy learned anything from this? You freely embraced the narratives about the war of the very governments and press outlets that you denigrate and dispute when they fabricate and broadcast the climate change lies.
I was needled because I refused to support that crap. This former SF soldier that spent over a decade on hazardous duty during the “cold war” in 10th SFG (A) specifically targeted against the Soviets whose loyalty was questioned as if I was supporting Russia because I would not support Ukraine.
This war was unnecessary! And the American people have been lied to by their government and their press about the reasons for it and their reporting on who is winning. And now, the time is coming when the truth about what has actually been happening on the battlefield is going to come out.
No one in Congress cares.
The public is being misled by the media.
Only when the “gubmint” can no longer make excuses for GIs’ flag covered caskets coming home to Main Street America will something be done.

It’s way too hot for me to do that sort of cooking as we keep the house set at 85-6 to save on bills. But in the cooler temps I’d take all day for a pot roast and that would sustain us for a lot of meals. I might make a chicken curry because my recipe is so easy and quick, and with rice and mango chutney (Patak’s) there are about three meals there.
Otherwise it’s soup, sandwiches, salads…easy and little need for an oven.
Our oldest slow cooked a brisket the other night which was delicious. She uses her slow cooker quite often with three teens and a very busy job. Loves it!
So I do very much appreciate your kind thought, dear friend🤗 Think of the conversation! I think we’d be able to put the world to rights. Ill be with you in spirit. Count on it💕

There are days when we will have a baked potato and a salad for dinner.
Butter, cheese, sour cream on the tater and that’s it.
One of the most wonderful parties we ever co hosted in the UK was with just that. Baked potatoes and toppings. Added bacon and leeks to the list about…and salad of course
It was inexpensive as well. Everyone really enjoyed it.
My favourites though are reds, which suddenly are awfully hard to come by for some reason. I’ll use those for mashed, scalloped, and potato salad (for the latter because they really do hold together after boiling).
You know, mo, you really are very blessed to have the neighbours you do. I think it’s wonderful💕🍀
We just learned about Brit “jacket potatoes’ with the cross-cross slit and they are the new go-to. Alternately, hubs will cut a russet almost through and wedge some onion in between, a bit of salt and butter. Foil, bake and enjoy!

We had a handful of beets to cook that I put off for the heat the oven would create. Remembered we had an Instapot in the cellar/basement that might be a cooler/faster option. Never again in the oven. The beets texture was so silky and still full of deep beet flavor we are sold on the pressure cook technique. Lots of lovely juice too for making pickled beets (with vinegar) of course
Molon, I thought I was the only one who ate the Thanksgiving sandwhiches you have with the leftovers? You do it just like I do. I love stuffing. Favorite part of the meal, and those sandwiches are the best.
Meatloaf sandwiches, which I turned up my nose at when I was younger are my fave. Especially with a bit of Durkee’s on them. That’s a condiment I’m having great difficulty finding these days.

Is anyone making meat stuffing (the Canadian way). The sandwiches are delectable. Toast, shmear of mayo, cranberry sauce (jelly) turkey and a big gob of stuffing (cheese if you’re amenable). Dang!
Sounds great. My aunt used to make her stuffing with sweet Italian sausage. My grandma did not. Both were great. You guys are making me wish for Thanksgiving.

Good morning, WeeWeed. After a lifetime of drinking coke I gave it up several years ago when they went woke. Dr Pepper has been my cola since then. I remember Dr Pepper from when I was young. I still have a small thermometer with a bottle of Dr Pepper pictured on it. It has been on my bedroom mirror for over sixty five years. This coke can and its company can go the way Bud Light went.

When we lived in the UK, I had to do without Dr Pepper, which I still love but don’t drink because calories (diet ginger ale now).
Then one day at one of our big supermarkets, what did my eyes fall upon???
DR PEPPER!!! LOTS OF IT!!
I thought all my birthdays had come at once! I was surprised that the staff didn’t send everyone to that aisle to see what was going on, so loud was my hooray!!
But the taste was different. Just as delicious, but the recipe had been altered…why I could never figure out. Just as Coke in Mexico is different from the US recipe.
But no matter…we piled our cart high with a Dr Pepper supply and enjoyed😁

Good morning, Betsy. When we bought it as kids, it only came in glass bottles. Now with it coming in plastic bottles or cans there is a big difference in the taste. I only get the cans since to me this has a better taste. My daughter gets the bottles. I didn’t think hers tasted nearly as good as the cans.
When I was still drinking coke I always got the cans. Much better taste. When they tried “new coke”, it tasted just like Pepsi ( awful). I have never been a pepsi drinker. If you bought coke that was not produced in York, Pa, the flavor differed greatly. Some of it was undrinkable to me. I was from York and the bottling plant was there. Loved my Coke til they went Woke!!
I agree…cans are best but the small bottles were the bestest!!!! I used to love Coke but I dropped them completely when they decided that their primary purpose as a soft drink maker was something other than that.
My favourite in the UK hands down was ginger beer, which is nice t alcoholic but a soft drink like ginger ale…but with a real timer punch. The brand I liked was called Fiery Red and boy, was it!!!
And now I want some!!😂
I got family from Pa mate. Met a long lost cousin in Bucks County once. Was really fascinating and shows how your family can stretch out and you lose touch. Always loved the state.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Enjoying the SOUND OF FREEDOM this weekend. Not the movie — the USAF Thunderbirds. A cloudless sky, 80 degree temps, Open House at McChord (Lakewood, WA) with thousands of my closest friends, and the aerial acrobats that are the T-birds. They arrived on Wednesday and were practicing Thurs & Fri. The plane which makes the surprise high-speed pass over the unsuspecting crowd initiated his run near Steilacoom and came directly over my house — I could count the rivets on his wings — it was GREAT! I had a career in the USAF and retired 35 years ago, but I never get tired of watching and hearing the Thunderbirds. They’ve got a full slate of air shows this summer as do the Navy’s Blue Angels. I hope my fellow Treepers in those areas will take time to take your kids/grandchildren to see the airshows and enjoy the Sound of Freedom as only the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels can deliver.

TY Bet. I’m going to try and catch it later. I checked my Chickadee box which I put up to late for this year and there were twigs which I believe was a dummy nest for Carolina Wrens. The Chickadee box hole is smaller than a Bluebirds as I am trying to get both species in both boxes (25+ feet apart with holes facing opposite direction). Hopefully next year. I like House Wrens but they sometimes destroy Bluebird/Chickadee nests. I do not have them here though.

Eastern Meadowlark. They are a grassland bird species thus they are endangered as that habitat is uncommon and they need large acreage to nest successfully, which limits their numbers. I am lucky to have a few locations on my ride to work that I sometimes see them. My most reliable spot which is near me, has been jeopardized with Apartments as the beautiful Horse farm sold a corner of their property which is going to change the traffic here and ruined a beautiful spot. So far the Meadowlarks are still there, but I wonder if the increased human traffic will upset things. I’ve seen Harriers & Savannah Sparrows there also
