Had the vinyl back in the day. Have a good day, time for 40 winks for me.
Remember once when hubs and I were on the way to an evening LA Maze class with our first child many, many moons ago. It was an unseasonably warm and balmy night in Orange County, and so clear you could see for miles. The car windows were open, and there was a Steely Dan song playing… that one with the line “Surry the bottle momma, it’s grapefruit wine”. At that time we still had lots of orange groves in the area, and their heady aroma filled the car, together with the mellow music. At that moment, things just seemed to blend together perfectly into a kind of nirvana, one that I have very seldom experinced, but which, whenever I have, I never forget. Didn’t last long though, we got to the class, the breathing exercises and back to the real world.
Sorry if I’m boring everyone but just musing on the power of music to transport one’s mind almost anywhere.
Many people don’t remember Orange 🍊 County’s orange groves. It’s all cement now. My first home was Capistrano. That is when it was a quiet, little town. 💒

Good morning Bet! Finally, after almost a year, we got our house generator installed and working . The bonus part was that the owner of the business that we ordered it from is a Christian man. After the work was finished we sat down and had a great conversation about the Lord. I’m positive that God sent him and we made a new friend.
The plumber got my well water pump working for now so we can water what’s left of the garden but will be back next week to replace it.
We are enjoying Saturday morning with Nipper while I’m waiting for DIRECTV to call and come and fix my mom’s tv. She still watches some things so I don’t want to cut the cord for her. ❤️😍

Oh, G!!! I am so with you on your installer, now friend in Christ, and his back g been sent. I KNOW this is true because we have (now) two just like him. Angels from above, for us at our age and conditions are very much needed…sent even before we knew how wonderful their presence in our lives would be.
Our roofer who came first as an insurance adjuster who then replaced our roof.
And a young rodent exterminator (rats plus attic equals UGH!!!) who was supposed to pull the traps yesterday but on the QT is leaving them just in case, plus his personal number if we ever need.

So great news on the pump. If your area is like ours we are dry as dry can be with only forecasted small percentages for any rain for the next 10 days of triple degree heat. Plus our lawn system is not functioning which means we have to find someone to repair. We had a man’s number but he wants $120/HR plus $100 upfront for supplies (that he doesn’t even know he’ll need…???) Looking for someone else. Based on past experience I’m sure we’ll find someone🙏🏻 In the meantime its hand watering by yours truly😬😠

A northern Michigan city is investigating after a local hair salon owner posted on social media that anyone identifying as other than a man or a woman is not welcome at her business.
In an Associated Press interview, Geiger stood by her posts and said small business owners should be free to serve whomever they wish.
“I just don’t want the woke dollar. … I’d rather not be as busy than to have to do services that I don’t agree with.”
A post last weekend on the salon’s Facebook page, which is no longer available, read, “If a human identifies as anything other than a man/woman please seek services at a local pet groomer. You are not welcome at this salon. Period. Should you request to have a particular pronoun used please note we may simply refer to you as ‘hey you.’”
Geiger, 48, said she was motivated primarily by personal experiences and objection to schools and doctor’s offices informing children about gender identification matters.
Jack Winn, CEO of a Texas-based hair products company whose merchandise Geiger has used and promoted in her salon, said Thursday he disapproved of her comments and had severed ties with her after receiving more than 1,600 emailed complaints.

Aggiegirl, my husband worked security for the cruise lines in San Diego for several years. He told me after his first month that he would never take a cruise anywhere ever. Most of the ships returning to port were considered sick due to the amount of passengers who were ill with colds, flu, etc. He said those ships are just giant incubators.

The weather reporting today is nothing but drama to push an agenda. Have you ever heard of the terms they’re using now? I first noticed it with “tsunami” about 15 years ago. I had to look it up back then. In every old movie or book it was always called a “tidal wave”. The most recent term I heard just the other day, “Atmospheric river”. Since we had thunderstorms and heavy down pours, I’m guessing that’s what it is.
LANGUAGE IS EVERYTHING. Those who are changing it, as well as those who so willinly and blindly use it are not our friends. For me, that is a big “tell”.

I always ponder that what we call miracles maybe were always in His plan for us on our road through life that we can’t see down. But He knows! And He placed these blessings just so, on our paths when He knows we need them most. And many times not in a guise we would recognize as a “miracle”. All the more to understand how much we are loved by Him as He knows what we need before we ourselves do…and will provide.

Today, as Christ is busy preparing you an eternal home, His body bears the physical scars of the sacrifice He made for you. He gave Himself over completely in bodily death, so you could know how much He cares.
Once you begin to grasp that kind of love, your deepest fears of rejection and abandonment abate. You can release your insecure need to perform and rest confidently in God’s real love. The kind that would write your name in scar tissue upon the palm of His hand.
Pray for those in the United States who need to understand and walk confidently in God’s redemptive love. Ask that many will receive it today.

Yesterday, I posted a rambling rant on this alleged NY serial killer, my thoughts on the FBI answering questions…I used the term alleged as he is innocent until found guilty by a jury of his peers…(hell, what kind of ‘peer” would that be/s)….my thoughts were, in how the agent framed something he said made me think….was that why they moved to get him because they might think he was going to do it again, soon.
Today’s article references his internet searches included up to “June 2023″….(Faux).
That article has given me chills…that I might have been right? Oh well, it will be interesting to see the reporting on the trial whenever that happens.
I hope the family is innocent in all this….what a shock.

Ever hear “bond servant”? The fella that willingly give himself to his owner. The rebellious servant struggles his whole life for freedom and finds no peace.
God owns us all, we are his servants. Bond or slave in captivity, demons are slaves in captivity. Choosing death over life. An angel who said “no” to God, his eternity will be away from God his bonds are tighter than those who give themselves willingly, they will never have peace.
Choose to be a bond servant.
When a slave is rebellious they find no peace but in gratitude they find grace, same here in this physical realm. Pride is not an asset unless you give it. “I take pride in my work, to make it perfect.”

Red -shoulder Hawk Arguably the most beautiful hawk in North America. A pair nests up the street from me and lately they have been around. I had one land on the frame above my bluebird box, and I shooed him away. They typically like snakes, insects, mice, squirrels, and are a little bit smaller than Red-Tailed Hawks. They are Buteos but they kind of act like Accipter’s, being much more agile and streamlined than Red-tail’s. Gorgeous.
We have woodpecker chicks at our seed blocks. The red headed woodpeckers have one and the red bellied woodpeckers have two.
Both are beautiful birds but the Red Headed is spectacular with the red, black and white color contrast. They are rare in my area, but strangely there is a small colony of them in the town of Anderson SC. They usually do not live in town like environments, but there they do

I have always been fascinated by the Harrier hawks in Britain which we’d see quite often. They’d remain stationary over their prey. Their bodies might show movement but their heads never did, something I’ve always found interesting when watching videos of any hawks.

I used to watch these guys up north in some fields/marshes where I would wait till dusk and then switch over to their similar hunting method Short-eared Owls! I have occasionally seen them in migration where I now live. There is some real magic in their flight patterns that I never tire of watching.

I’ve been to many a hawkwatch, but watching the Harriers on the dayshift to the Short eared Owls on the nigh shift was so cool.
I used to cut school when I knew a cold front was coming in, pretend I was sick, and after my parents went to work, sat out in my backyard with hot cocoa (not a coffee drinker at that time) and watch the Hawk, waterfowl, and assorted other bird migration right over my house as it was located along mountain ridges with a forest. I can still see them in my memories.

We had a Red-Shouldered and Cooper’s hawk winter with us. Photos taken in Jan and Feb of this year.
Yes…truly magnificent birds of prey. I was a bit torn. Feeding song birds throughout the winter is what attracted these hawks? More than likely.

Osprey’s are magnificent flyers. Once a long time ago watching three of them catching large Goldfish from a Pond near where I used to live.
My daughter lives near a large reservoir and has osprey all around her property. Such beautiful and majestic birds.
My SIL lives along a river in northwestern Idaho where bald eagles nest. She loves sitting on her cousin’s porch watching them soar.
Like the herons depopulation my Welsh pond of its HUGE Koi. (Insert crying face here).
I;m not a fan of the Great Blue’s. They eat baby ducks also.

I used to watch a Bluebird that had made an 2 acre field along a main rd its home and would almost always be seen on the wire overlooking the field. I watched him for many months and always counted on him being there. One afternoon a few years ago, I was driving on that road and could see a Cooper’s Hawk speeding straight for my Bluebird that was on his favorite spot on that wire. he never saw what hit him as the Cooper’s got him. I felt bad as I always hope the Accipter’s find Cowbirds/Starlings instead of others.
The field is now an Aldi’s but I still remember the Bluebird that had made it his home and his demise.

Had a nice little breakfast with kid at our local farmer’s diner in Lebanon. There were four tables in there and the locals all talk to one another. One of the tables picked up everyone’s tab, so I left what I would have spent on the table for the waitress. A reciprocal blessing and kiddo wanted in on it and added another $20.
It’s good to live in a small town. Reading the postings about Orange County, CA and the orange groves – yes, I remember those days during my first “tour” in California.
It’s a sad day when they asphalt over our beautiful farmlands. Concrete jungles do little to enrich the soul and mind.
Mission Impossible was good – we will likely see it again. Tom Cruise is insane for more reasons than one!!! Couldn’t hack it through the second feature, which was Transformers. Only got a quarter way through it and kiddo opted to come home and go to bed to be fresh for her shift today.
Considering going to see “Sounds of Freedom” while she’s working. Would be going alone, but not ready to be all couped up today. Rained this morning – and I saw our resident Mr. Frog outside on our patio. Glad he made it through the mowers.

I’m sure your waitress was over the moon with that unexpected money. Yes indeed. Small Town America still exists with an ethos that those who do not live in them have no conception of.
That was the single thing we left behind when we moved from Wales back to the US which we.missed more than anything. Those bonds, the familiarity, the friendships. And the one thing that we have tried to replicate within the parameters of our location…with some success. Including making sure we learned the names of people in grocery stores and other shops that we frequent on a regular basis.
I wanted that human connection, and I wanted to give that connection to the people who work in those places who are invisible to most everyone who crosses their daily paths. The benefits for all are extraordinary. Faces become names become stories about families, and through those we become friends.

ERROR, somewhere I read that the Supreme Court is considering a rethink on a previous ruling that the regulatory state is all and as such they can with their rules and regs bypass the Constitutional three separate and equal branches of government.
