When I’m feeling a bit low some days, it’s the little things that give me a pick-up.

I stumbled across this yesterday (EDT), a little Youtube channel that when I joined it only had a few hundred subscribers. Nothing earth shattering here, just a six year old girl learning from her dad how to fly a jet. God bless her, she’s pretty good at it too.

Most of the videos are brief, and there aren’t that many yet, but some people just have a gift. Taking off is one thing, but just watch her land. Yeah, dad runs the throttles and gives the tutoring but, well, it picks me up and gives me faith.

‎7/‎12/‎2023 – Every man’s work shall be made manifest

Proverbs 12:11 
“He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.”

Proverbs 24:30-34 
“I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; and, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: so shall your poverty come as one that travels; and your want as an armed man.”

In the parable of the sower, we are taught that there is really only one right way to receive the word of God; which is in a good and honest heart. And taking from the examples of how not to do it; we understand that it is up to us to make sure to do all the necessary wisdom and preparations; that the heart is penetrable for the word, and not a place where the devil can simply fly down and devour anything that comes into our ears; that the stones are removed and the ground tilled, so the seed can go down deep enough to take root; and that we do not foolishly waste the good seed, by trying to grow it in the well established thorn hedge of cares and pleasures of this world. 

With regard to the grave necessity of the times; that there is a fire appointed, to prove every man and his works, of what sort they are; it is up to us how we build upon our foundation. Christ is our foundation; but then its us who are responsible for building the house. Do we make ourselves and our works, of gold, of silver, of precious stones? Or do we take the easy and commonly available wood, hay, and stubble? Which would the wise man take? The things which would abide the fire? or the cheap things that quickly burn up? And the Scripture says; that not only our works, but ourselves as well, are likened to these two kinds. For it is said, that so too our souls shall be proven by fire, for whether we shall be saved.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Now if we have it hard to behave like God’s servants, like God’s children, in relative peace and quiet; and merely going through the ordinary things of the days; how will we perform under the pressures of great tribulation, or even life threatening persecution? Those who know, say that a truly strong and well trained fighting force in the Military, takes years, or even decades, to accomplish: its not something that can be done on the fly! Yet many Christians really think that by simply surrounding themselves with religious trinkets and decorations; and otherwise take zero pains to purifying themselves and working out the grace which Christ paid for them having, in His own blood, and with His very life: that if they sit back, and falsely trust that God will somehow do everything for them; then they will have nothing to fear. But how does that even make sense; knowing the kind of world we are in, and all the snares and deceits that could overthrow us, if we don’t watch out?

If we look at the fields which are worked and taken care of; we have to agree, that it takes knowledge and understanding and skill, and incredible hard work and dedication, to make it successful. If someone want to become an expert at any trade, or occupation; he or she knows they have to be disciplined and make sacrifices; not only for their bodies; but more importantly for their minds; with determination to accomplish their goals; and not have to look back on what they did, and be ashamed for not giving it their very best.

God has done all this, and far more than we can understand, to make a way for us to be saved, healed, and eventually transformed and made fit for being called His children in His Presence. And to put it quite frankly; do we really think Jesus likes or listens to the world’s music? Or watches their movies? Or plasters all His surroundings with idols and relics and memorabilia, as if those things made His identity? But God looks for truth on the inward parts; and understanding in the hidden place, out of man’s view. And the only way to make sure that nothing wicked and unclean, nothing evil or deceitful, is in us; is to first thing every morning, and being in a continual frame of mind, to set all in order before God in prayer; and to remember, and keep, and walk according to all that He says to us.

A life changing masterpiece from the three stooges. Just remember one important thing. The more we think we know about, the greater the unknown.

Bud Light and Target, Disney!

Perhaps if the CEO had not been so arrogant and had not said the Bud Light boycott wouldn’t really hurt Anheuser-Busch because of all their other brands people would have cut them some slack. Now it is way too late to apologize. Bud Light has gone from #1 to #10, other A-B brands are suffering and A-B stock is on a down slope.

And Target? You would have thought they would have learned their lesson years ago when they came out forbidding Salvation Army bell ringers in front of their stores. It was a year after that the local Target Store here closed its doors. But nooooooooo, first they lose 9 billion in one week over partnering with Satanists to sell “LGTQ friendly” clothing. Then they followed up on that winner by saying they wouldn’t sell Mark Levin’s newest book. They did a quick about face on that one, but the fact is the companies earnings forecasts for the rest of year now suck big time!

Disney. Already taking big time financial hits because of the string of woke the movies it has been producing, and fielding another loser with what will be the last Indiana Jones movie that Harrison Ford will do, now attendance at its parks is down about 50%! And why would it not be? Trying to make up for its losses in other sectors, ticket prices have skyrocketed. This during a time when people are already having to deal with ever increasing cost of living due to inflation.

And BTW things are also going downhill for Disney+. HBO “Max” just over took it.

The team of Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy are responsible for Disney abandoning the corner stone of its foundation which was being a brand that provided products and experiences that parents once trusted implicitly for their children. And I don’t believe that it will ever be possible for Disney to earn back that trust even if they fired those two and did an abrupt about face. Why would middle class families save for years to take their kids to the Magic Kingdom like they once did when the content cannot be trusted to be family friendly? The Walt Disney an Tinkerbell bloom is off the rose and now the bush is dying.

The little toads, a tree frog and a mocking bird have been serenading the Lord all night. Love listening to it, brings me joy and peace. Now I’m heading back to bed.

Good morning all! It was apparently a two dog and one cat night for me.

I had a bit of trouble going to sleep. For the first time in ages I had a bit of acid reflux. Perhaps because of going to bed too soon after a dinner of fried fish and tater tots.

Anyway I went to sleep propped up a bit with pillows. I awoke with Geisha the cocker walking up along my left side to get in my face to tell me she needed to go out. I was slightly turned to the right with my left leg straight and my right leg cocked so the sole of my right foot was in contact with my left leg just below the knee, and my right arm cocked with my hand under the pillow. Gabby the cat was settled in the space between my torso and cocked right leg below my cocked arm. Buckley was laying with his body along my right lower leg and his head propped up on it.

As usual Buckley was awake as soon as I moved. Gabby the cat grumbled when I got up to take the dogs out. I slipped on my warm up bottoms and slippers and hooked the dogs up on leashes and walked them out into the back field. They both did their business. I brought them in a dried their feet. Geisha is under my desk snoring up a storm and Buckley went back to bed to cuddle up with Sherry.

The Lord is the stronghold of my life.   – Psalm 27:1

Two years ago, archaeologists in Israel reported finding a fortress in an area of the Golan Heights that dated back to the time of King David. The fortified structure within the city’s fortified perimeter had stone walls three feet thick. For those who took refuge there at the time, it would have seemed impenetrable protection. 

David knew of fortified strongholds, whether they be the fortresses of the recent discovery, of a fort or protected watchtower in countryside locations, or garrisons for his soldiers. He had confidence in the protection that those places offered to him, his military, and the citizens of Israel. But he had much greater confidence in the Lord for the continual protection of his life.

Attacks coming against believers in America today are not from arrows or cannons, yet they are just as capable of injury or worse. In certain circles, politicians and others have called those who follow Christ terrorists. Legal and political challenges have been levied against believers, with accusations of them being “white supremacists,” regardless of their race, or adherents of some other type of group that involves violence and racism, conspiracies, and insurrections.

To defend against these and other charges, the Bible instructs in Ephesians 6 to have at hand the “sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Then keep your trust always in the Lord. 

As you pray for Christians in Congress, ask that God would provide His divine protection over them and that they “in all circumstances take up the shield of faith“ to “extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one“ (Ephesians 6:16).

Pray for a spiritual revival across the United States.
