Good morning, CR. A spiritual mirror we should all have.
Segovia’s On Stage LP is, by any definition, one of his finest recordings. It is a late analog recording, most likely made using high speed magnetic film. The resulting fidelity recorded with an impressive dynamic range still unmatched by digital is a delight to listen to, provided you have the highest quality speakers, turn=table, tone-arm, and cartridge is a real sonic treat.
I mention this now because there is now a whole new subculture of analog recording enthusiasts happily re-creating these before-digital listening events. Makes me want to give my Heybrook turntable, Linn-Sondek tone-arm with Audio-Technica cartridge, floor-standing Klipsch horn-loaded speakers a wake-up call. . . Maybe . . . 🙂
A brief aside. Years ago I heard Segovia perform this music in Houston’s Jones Hall. The performance of the world’s greatest classical guitarist was electrifying, especially with an audience filled with guitar enthusiasts like me.
But then something happened. Segovia was playing the Handel pieces on this recording when he lost his place. There were a couple of missed notes but then—the great man simply improvised a couple of bars of Handel sounding phrases found his place . . . and completed the pieces.
For those of us in the audience, most of whom knew this music, Segovia “fudge” was nothing short of incredible. If you didn’t know the music (as most of us did) the audience never realized what had happened. Afterward, shaking hands with the great man I said nothing. Neither did anyone else. But we all knew and respected what the greatest living classical guitarist had done . . . 🙂

The thing about cats is that one cat just leads to another, and another… I’m now feeding 20 strays/abandoned kitties along with my 1o.
Long ago I had a cat, Sammy, who loved to play catch with potholders. I would throw it out like a frisbee and he would race after it and catch it, then bring it back for me to throw again.
We had a Sammy once, patty. You and I are kindred spirits. We feed strays as well. Won’t see one go hungry. We’ve caught and neutered or spayed many until we could no longer afford it. Kittens caught and taken for adoption.
I don’t know how one applies to be adopted oneself by St Francis but we’ve got our application in💕 Lord bless you for what you do😘🙏🏻

That’s cute. Betsy. I used to have a pack of dogs, too. My last dog, Emma Grace, died from old age almost 2 years ago.
I named her Emma Grace because by the grace of God I looked out my front windows to see the people who rented across the street from me beating something with a 2×4. I went out to see what it was and saw it was a puppy. I hollered at her ‘what are you doing?’ She said it wasn’t her dog so I ran over and took the puppy. Took it to straight to my vet. Thankfully she was not seriously hurt. She was such a good dog. I really miss having dogs.
The renters moved very shortly after that, thankfully.
Having had dogs almost for my entire life, I miss their special companionship and love. All of our dogs were foundlings … who basically claimed us. It’s getting high time for me to find a good dog. 🙂

It was a little cooler yesterday and early this morning but by the time I got back from working out and HEB it got purty hot. No rain for us until maybe later next week. 🙂 Send it our way until your roof is fixed.
Roof fixed!!!! It didn’t take long. Our sweet Joseph who replaced our roof originally brought over a big strapping mate and I think they were done in about 30 minutes. Wanted paying only for materials but we weren’t having that. He said they were going to be doing it for free, that’s the sort of angel he is. Nope…gave them each $50. The roofing company who we had originally contacted and scheduled wanted $400, which was going to hurt. Chris told Joseph and John, his mate, that that way we’d be able to call them again if we needed. Joseph said he would always come no matter how busy he was. Love him like a son and are so grateful for him.
So of course the rain that was predicted never came. Predicted chances ever day for the week upcoming. If by some freakish chance it happens, I will definitely whisper in its ear you are in need and give directions😎
The temps however? Unbelievably cool…87 but cranking back up tomorrow. Ugh….
Hallelujah! Thank God for Josephs! Just 10 minutes ago was talking to Solomon and he asked me how hot it was so I checked my phone and it said 95. I swear it felt hotter a few hours earlier when I found a couple of things to do outside but it was just for a few minutes.
Last nights steaks turned out pretty good. Used the griddle for the first time to grill steaks. Did fine but nothing beats the charcoal grill for steaks. But just wanted to try it. It will do if I don’t want to wait for the charcoal to burn. And the 2013 Sunset Cellars Afterglow cab was superb. I’ll put it up against any Napa Valley wine. This is fro the next valley over, Suisun Valley. Too bad the communists ruined Cali.

Let me remind you that last November we discussed measures to stimulate the introduction and production of industrial robots in Russia. Cats as artists are categorized according to their choice of artistic expression: eg. ‘Princess’ is an Elemental Fragmentist whereas ‘Bootsie’ is a Trans-Expressionist. ‘ Pinkle’ a female Rex, organizes plastic letters on a refrigerator, with a special fondness for red ones, and her manipulation of ready made objects has been seriously compared to the work of Marcel Duchamp.
The above mentioned work is a slim volume of non-primate art, but a delightful addition to any discerning art lovers’ library

Very good, very deep and important message! So many who are in this predicament; not doing right, and refusing conviction and correction, and then when things go bad, they start pouting and saying, Where is God? A lot of times, there is no desire to “realize God’s purpose” because they’ve already let the devil preside over their thoughts, and use their mouths to aggressively blaspheme. Its really no use trying to try to help someone like that; you just have to let them go their way; and hopefully, through much prayer, the Lord will let the devil teach them a few things; if they may be brought to repentance.
I appreciate how this is something we all need to keep in mind, and watch against.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you, dearest friend. Waiting for one of the blessings in our life to arrive to repair a shingle on our roof where an uppity rat tried to get in. This blessing came in the form of a young man who was sent as an insurance assessor for our damaged roof a couple of years ago and ended up being the guy who replaced it. He has become like a son to us. We love him. Entirely self made and the sweetest young man you could ever hope to meet.
He’s bringing someone with him who will repair what needs fixing, and as for the cost? Joseph said to pay him gas money…that’s all.
Of course we will pay him for his labours in our hot Texas sun. And we will fortify the both of them with food and drink while they are here. We always look after those who come to fix things in this house.
I think I spy with my little eye you in this glorious lavender field in your beautiful white dress and hat. Can you imagine the peace?? 🤗

The only healthy self-confidence comes from putting your confidence in God.
You can become the person God wants you to be and accomplish what He wants you to do. It is not necessary to be bogged down or discouraged by goals you have not reached or dreams you have not realized.
Putting your confidence in the Lord allows you to surpass your own abilities.
Jesus compared adhering to His teachings to building a house upon a rock, which will survive through life’s storms. Likewise, He compared not listening to His words to building a house upon the sand, which will be destroyed when trouble comes (Matthew 7: 24-27).
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Today, renew your commitment to esteem God and place your confidence in Him. Pray for citizens and governing officials of the United States to see their need to trust in the Lord and to build their lives and this country on His principles.

Though we have had some dry spells, the rains have come just at the right time to keep the soya bean and corn fields around us looking very healthy. There have been several years in the past when my yard has had a lot more brown in it, and yet the crops did fine.
The worry for the farmers down in the southern part of IL, IN, and OH is likely to be flooding, as the models show much higher than normal precipitation down there from now until the 11th of July. Lots of low fields along I-65 in southern Indiana and I have seen the crops in them flooded out several times in the past.
It has been “Vietnam hot” as my uncle used to say here in North Florida. Today isn’t as bad as the last two days. We should be getting some more much needed precipitation Monday.

This years June and July over all temps won’t even come close to what our ancestors endured without A/C available except possibly in the local movie theater in the mid to late 1930s.
