Had to work out that small piece of Tres Leches and 2 scoops of Blue Bell. Yesterday we had a celebration of all June birthdays. Granddaughter 23 at the beginning of June, Mom in the middle of the month, daughter 42 today, and sister in law tomorrow. Cooked hamburgers by the pool while the kids were swimming (son in law did the cooking) then had the meal inside. I had special venison burgers for me, everyone else had beef. Good times! 😍
My gosh!!!!! Now I think I need to go work out! Surely I’ve gained 10 pounds just reading about all that wonderful food.

And who needs digitized controls on an oven or a washer for goodness sakes?
Not I, monti! We replaced a.fridge and an oven recently.
This was during the vivid years when supplies were nonexistent. The fridge I wanted…a simple side by side with ice maker and water dispenser. In black. Lowe’s didn’t have it and as ours had suddenly given up, we were desperate.
So Plan B.
Asked what they did have in black. One with no icemaker or water dispenser. Top freezer. Bottom fridge. We realized we really didn’t need either IM or WD, and chose that one. Last one they had, $500 cheaper which for two social security people was just great!
And here’s the thing….it is the BEST we’ve ever owned. More room, better layout, everything. I love that fridge!
Same with the oven. Replaced an electric with gas which I’ve always wanted. Off/on/bake/broil/temp control/ clock…that’s it. That’s all I need.
Washing machine, dryer? Same. Which reminds me…must dash to fold my drying!!! Thank you for jogging my memory😂😂😂

Yes sir, I lost a new washer after replacing the computer board once. Scrapped it after second computer control went out.
Those Frigidaire Side by Sides in avocado were the bomb,literally that’s what it would take for it to break down.A beast to move around,weighed a ton,could double as a tornado shelter 👍

Honey came home to a very lovely petite three drawer French provincial dresser being refinished in the kitchen.
hahahahah… if only you could have seen his face and ‘heard his surprise’ ! Hahahahahah…
There was a tarp over that golf ball textured dirt catching sheet flooring, said I (even though I actually tried to damage ii at various times and ways; to no success😩).
Long story short:
-He ended up with MY lovely dresser. Ha!
– Got my wide plank wooden floors after six years
-BONUS:
Finally got air conditioning; for the floor. 😂

Last year I got a vintage small cabinet that looks Frenchy.
Black with gold accent.
And I painted the inside shelves lite blue-green.

Junking /alley-scavaging was a blast. How many times I had to drive back to see what I passed! Then…, try to fit it in the car. Lol.
Dreams were always about making stuff; down to the details. Would inspire getting up at 4 (or staying up until 4) and immediately creating. Painting is the final kiss. 🤭

How right you are! I’ve got chairs for every one in the Tree if they want to stop for tea. And if we run out, there’s always a blanket on the ground to sit on, or a stream to dangle feet in…room for all.

The most memorable meal I had on my first trip to London was the Afternoon Tea.
The best little sandwiches and sweet delectable treats.
I wish I could enjoy the same stateside.
The first thing I did in London on what would be a life changing trip for me, Bananas, was to have tea at Fortnum and Masons. What an AMAZING place that was!!
I was so jetlagged that I nearly fell asleep face down in my cup. But oh my! A proper British tea. And after? Walking around that fabulous place and its expensive jars of condiments and jams, biscuits, cheeses, those delectable treats you mentioned, and more. I felt positively queenly. Wonderful!

Wish we could all live in a “Mayberry, USA” (as was).
In many ways living here in Mississippi is like living in Mayberry. Downtown closes up at 6 and nothing is open on Sundays. We have a business strip along Hwy 15 where all the fast food places are that are open everyday but regular businesses are closed on Sunday.
Kids here still ride bikes and scooters without all the armor, ride in the beds of pickups or sit on Dad’s lap behind the wheel, steering. Our young neighbor kids 7-10 love racing their ATVs around our circle, no helmets.
It’s quite laid back here, people greet each other and wave. I have to carry my check book as some stores don’t do debit or credit.
After years in big cities this place is heavensent for us. Our city population is around 3500, county 30,000. L-O-V-E IT.

I remember those days when no stores were open on Sunday.
My hubs grew up in small town in GA, and tells his childhood stories.
The whole town closed at noon on Wednesday – and his family made homemade ice cream every week.
They got together with his grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins.
A different era then.

That’s what we do. Keeping the A/C at 85/6 but with ceiling fans on and a standing square fan on full facing us behind the telly and the open shelved stand it’s on, we are remarkably cool. Otherwise we are limiting our activity. And like you, we are counting.
Yesterday on our Sirius XM Symphony channel they played Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols”, don’t know why.
One of my favourites, but all it did was make me yearn for Christmas. We’re closer now than we were at the beginning of the year of course. So now I am counting the days faster than you, my friend…betcha😉💕

Red-winged Blackbirds seem pretty common where I live, hope they make a comeback in your area, Colkitto!
Ty Phoenix if interested I can post some info about it. I had some really cool encounters with them, highlighted by the pair that nested in the White Pine tree near my father’s garden for about three years in a row and would dive bomb anyone going to the garden. Every migration I would see fewer and fewer come though up north and here. I believe the Grackle which is more of a habitat generalist filled in their decline niche.
Now that seems strange to me because where I live there seem to be fewer Common Grackles than Red-wings, and when I was a kid I seem to remember Grackles all over the place, in the suburbs anyways. So for me personally, on a bird walk these days, the tendency is to take Red-wings for granted because there are so many of them that I don’t keep an official count, and to be grateful any time I see or hear a Grackle to put on the day’s list.
On the AllAboutBirds.org website (TheCornellLab), they claim that the Common Grackle is a “common bird in steep decline” while the Red-winged Blackbird is of “low concern” … so what’s up with that? Maybe your area is different from the general trends?
That is an interesting local observation because my trend in Nj and here is the opposite, the decline of the red-winged, and rise of the Common Grackle.

One thing I forgot to mention is that my childhood memories of Grackles is actually from Western New York and not Ohio.
In any case, I don’t doubt that many birds of all kinds have been lost over the years. Here’s hoping this situation will turn around! It seems this would be included in making America great again … for all living things.
God’s Creation! One day, several years ago a flock of Winter molt Red Wings came through my yard. I ran out and bought every sack of cracked corn in Southern States inventory and under cover of darkness spread it in every green space in a five mile area. Seems they talk to each other because local news reported on the invasion!
Oh, and if you get a chance, go to Burke’s Garden, Virginia. It is a paradise for birds and me.

Their fall/winter/spring migration through my area became less and less each year until now I may have a handful come through every 3-5 years. the Purple Finch used to be regular winter visitors and less and less each year. I have had them in this location a few times but their were only 1-4 each time.

6/26/2023 – This is he who was sown by the way
Matthew 13:3-4,19 “And He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went out to sow: and as he sowed some fell by the way, and the birds devoured them . . . when anyone hears the word of the kingdom and understands not, the wicked one comes and snatches away that which was sown in his heart; this is he who was sown by the way.”
If it is true as the Scripture says, that God has fashioned all our hearts alike, and He considers all our works; how do some not understand? At what part in the hearing is the meaning blocked?
Psalm 33:13-15 “The LORD looks from heaven; He beholds all the sons of men. From the place of His habitation He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashions their heart alike; He considers all their works.”
This tells us, that there is an action of the heart taken, in response to the LORD’s looking upon them. As when the Lord Jesus turned and looked upon Peter, as he the third time denied the Lord; it says, that the Lord looked upon Peter, and Peter recalled the word which Jesus said, This night, before the cock crow three twice, you will three times deny Me; and when he thought thereon, he wept.
No one comes to Jesus except the Father draw him. And how does He draw? By the influences and conviction of the Spirit upon the man’s spirit; who then responds, and takes a decision, either for or against those influences and convictions.
Isaiah 9:2 “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.”
God understands, and has compassion, on our alienated and lost condition; and He has made provision for our rescue and recovery through His Son Jesus dying on the cross and rising again. God has borne witness through all His law, and all His servants the prophets; and has fulfilled His word in the coming of Christ in the flesh, and the New Testament: not only for showing us our evil, to condemn; but by shining the Light for us to see our way out of the evil, through His great salvation.
The first work of the Spirit of God; (whose Name is, Paraclete, that is, One Called In To Help;) is to convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. How long does that take to happen in the hearing of the word? From God’s part, who is the Creator of the spirit of man, and whose understanding is infinite, it is simultaneous; there is no separation or distance between the spoken word of God, and that which He sends it to do. The failure can only come from the incapability on our part; by damaged and defective spirits to receive in the way intended.
Romans 11:32 “For God shut up all in disobedience, that He might show mercy to all.”
The darkness does not love the light; and all of us who have sprung from Adam and Eve, all tend naturally to run and hide among the trees, and look how we can sew aprons out of the fig leaves. And what makes us ashamed and afraid, that we run and hide? The Voice of the LORD God!
Have you ever done something bad to someone you loved, and who loved you more than anything; who was only ever very good to you? And then you had to go to that person, to their face; and confess what you did; fully accepting responsibility, that there was absolutely no excuse or justification for what you did? Well now try to imagine that on the level of Adam and Eve with the LORD God, right out of the perfect and pristine innocence of Creation! We can’t really comprehend what it was like, coming out of the perfect original state of how God created us; only on account of the darkness and alienation from God in our minds, which we were born with, and the kind of society we’ve grown up in. So in that way, the degree is different, in a sense; but the decision taken how to respond, comes from the heart that is fashioned alike.
We know the parable of the man with two sons; whom he commanded to go work in his vineyard: the one said that he would not, but afterwards repented and went; but the other said, I go, Sir; and went not. Which one did the will of his father? This is what happens when anyone hears the word of the kingdom: our actions taken come from choices and decisions.
How then, we may ask, does “not understanding the word” have to do with it? I believe, that the “understanding” here mentioned by the Lord, is on the same line as “knowing” is used with regards to the world not receiving the Holy Spirit, because it knows Him not: its a not knowing by choice; a moral decision of contempt and rejection to know. The same with a person, for example, who is in a fornication relationship; how they are necessarily with that, acutely hostile to the things the Christian has to say about being saved. When the devil is in charge of a person’s heart and mind, not knowing and not understanding are part of their spiritual constitution. And until that one turns to the Lord, the blanket of darkness, and bondage of disobedience and unbelief will preside over him.
When we read these things, we should not automatically look at others, or think in terms of “they” and “them,” but receive the instruction of our Father as especially for us! How we hear, and how we receive the word, is all that we have power over; and ourselves and the things we do, are what we must give account of. As the Lord is speaking in parables to the crowds; and then also as He is expounding all things privately to His disciples; the wisdom and the revelation nonetheless applies to all of us the same. There were no doubt all those kinds in the crowd, which Jesus alluded to in His parables; but it was the same among His disciples.
Even while they were His closest companions and friends, with Him every day; the same fundamental principles of how each one was called and first came to Jesus, must still be applied; and the teaching and transformation process we must continue with the same good and honest heart. It is possible, as we all know, that once saved, or once having learned and come so far; does not maintain itself, or guarantee the finish in the same. When the Lord multiplied the loaves and fishes at Tiberias; it says that the disciples hearts were hardened, and they considered it not. So that night, “. . . about the fourth watch of the night He comes unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw Him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: for they all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them, and says to them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. And He went up to them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.” (Mark 6:48-52)
Adding to all this, we have most of all Jesus for an example to follow, for all these things. When He took unto Himself the seed of Abraham, and the nature of man; He did all for our behalf: nothing He did or suffered was for Himself apart from us. When He was in Gethsemane praying, and the weight of all that was about to happen to Him, and the guilt of the sin of the world about to be brought to judgment in His person; it says that He “learned obedience by the things which He suffered;” and that, “He was heard in that He feared, even with strong crying and tears, to Him who was able to save Him from death;” and so He resigned His will in obedience, “Not My will, but Thine be done, Father.” So Jesus became the Author of eternal salvation to all them that obey Him.
Now we are the beneficiaries and of the covenant in His blood. Jesus alone is, and ever will be, the Savior of the world. But we, as His body, and His members; do also with the same spirit of faith and obedience yield ourselves to God, receiving His word in a good and honest heart; and likewise learn obedience by the things which we suffer. Jesus didn’t need to be corrected or chastised, as if He didn’t already know and live out all knowledge and perfection already: but He gave Himself up to the experience, that He might know and have compassion on us. In contrast, we do so, so that the Holy Spirit may have a clean vessel through which to convict men, and draw them to Christ, by our witness of what He has done in us.
The wayside heart is not limited to the unsaved and the heathen. We too, as long as we are in this tabernacle, do continually need to be diligent to attend to those things which we have heard; lest at any time we let them slip. No matter how far we have come; before we are brought home to be with the Lord, and are made perfect; we all must take heed to the things Jesus has entrusted to us; and be always in a state of setting in order our account with God, that we may abide in His Presence in a good conscience, without stage-playing. What the LORD said to Cain, He says also to us; if we get ourselves in similar circumstances, because of our stubbornness and pride; and because we know to do right, but refuse correction.

In OK and can attest to the fact that our weather is going to be another scorcher like last year. People in Tulsa are getting hit hard again. Everyone runs around claiming tornadoes, but in fact, they do not understand the winds are rated at level and wind speed. I just sit back and watch the panic. My thoughts are to just look out the window to see what the weather is going to do for the day.

Both of my sisters, and myself, are always looking for solutions. Currently, I take liquid Benadryl when I can’t get to sleep.
I can’t drink coffee at all after noon.
You may consider “EXTRA Sleepytime tea, by Celestial”
It contains an herb, valerian, that supposedly makes you sleepy.
Works for my occasional insomnia…

Hey, get a nice soap with real lavender oil in it. Before bed, go to the tub, sit on the edge, and turn on the water for as hot as you can stand it and wash your feet with the lavender oil soap. Dry them off an hit the sack. Hopefully you will be back here first thing to thank me for the sleep!
You might want to try nutritional yeast flakes, the ones containing the B vitamins.
Melatonin for when its really hard to sleep.
One study found that a combination of magnesium, melatonin, and vitamin B was effective in treating insomnia regardless of the cause.
Valerian root can also help some to fall asleep faster.
Melatonin gives me nightmares.
Yes a few folks do have side effects. i wonder if it depends on dosage levels? I have only taken small amounts and then very seldom have needed it.
Maybe next time I will try the lavender foot method you describe. My feet most likely need an attenuation for aroma at the end of the day anyway, right?

Dr. George T. Brooks wrote that the extent to which you are able to endure trials, brave every suffering, and overcome every temptation has to do with the source of your strength. Christ alone can supply your every need and will give you grace sufficient to overcome your weaknesses. In answer to your prayer, Christ strengthens you by uniting you with Himself through His Spirit.
Believer, your ability to make it through the trials of this life comes from Christ alone through the Spirit at work in you. Pray for public servants of this nation to turn to God and yield to His will in their lives, and that they may experience the fountain of His strength and grace.

So, I went to the large Atlanta library and checked out art for my office walls.

God our Father has watched us do this same thing many, many times from the Garden of Eden into this very instant. There is nothing new under the sun. His longsuffering love for us is filled with mercy and grace. So here we go again, one more time! Let it roll…

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I keep thinking, Lori, all these women screaming for the right to kill their own offspring, smiling all the while, do not understand that should they decide to do so without a moment’s hesitation , that they are not only destroying their children…they are murdering a part of themselves. Something they may not come to realize until perhaps decades later.
I often wonder why no one has asked of these women years later, those who have opted for abortion, if they have any regrets, if they could go back would they make the same decision.
I have many thoughts on these women per their later years and whatever families they eventually might have…but I believe none of them think past the day, or the immediate tomorrow.

At least one of the Bluebird fledglings from nest#1 is hanging around still. Now I have to confirm they are actually helping or are just trying to get a free meal. There are many different opinions on this. Please share if you have actually seen helpers “help”

Congratulations, C! Our two bluebird eggs hatched a few weeks ago. All of them are now gone! Including the parents.
The adult bluebirds are always around in our yard but now missing.
We “think” the parents have taken them into the woods to feed and protect them. Hope to see them soon!

Awesome news ma’am! They usually disappear for 2-3 weeks or so and than if your lucky rebuild again in your nest box if you are lucky. Some people leave the old nest, but from my research, I clean out after they are gone as quickly as possible. If I had more acreage I would and could do so much more but I did recently place a Chickadee box 25 feet away with the hole in the opposite direction hoping for Chickadees, but I think I put it up to late this year, hopefully next. It kinda gets a bit addicting I must confess. I filled in a spot that I didn’t think of before this spring with wildflowers to attract the insects that the Birds need to feed their young. I think with my upcoming Fall purchases I will have just about finished filling up property with flowers,shrubs, and trees.
I just saw an adult Red-Bellied Woodpecker feeding one of its fledglings in a pine tree in the yard that is my neighbors but is right on the line. He has a mini-forest of Oaks & Pines which is great in many ways, but limits what I can plant because of the shade, which I am grateful for on hot days. Ty for sharing
thank you for the tip on when to clean out the box. I usually clean them all out in the fall, but I didn’t think of the possibility of multiple broods.
I put up a bluebird box this spring (1st time ever), but I think I was too late. I did it after I had sighted a bluebird, then a wren built in the bluebird box! I was surprised becuase I did the right measurements of the hole opening, and the wren used it anyway (it is a smidge bigger for b/bird openings).
Always tap first on the side of the box before checking. Bluebirds will tolerate some human activity, I usually limit my check to once a week and never on a cold/rainy day.
I like House Wrens but they do occasionally kill/take over Bluebird boxes. I have never seen one here, but I have up north where I used to live. Chickadees will always use the boxes and are not aggressive at all.
To me it’s all so much fun and makes viewing your yard a whole new venue of entertainment. If you do not have a pond/stream/bird baths are also a big plus. Of course planting wildflowers/shrubs for cover/food, trees of the right sort makes it even more fun. Ty for sharing friend.
C, my hubs is the official “keeper” of the bluebird boxes … I just get to watch them!
He cleans the boxes out in the winter – says they re-use after hatching. At least they do here.
Also, he’s planning to relocate a box since they did not favor it in beginning. They ended up using it, tho.
It’s all probably “trial and error.” Hard to figure out wildlife.
But we’ve had bluebirds here for 15 years. Thank the Lord.

My latest obsession is feeding the hummers. I keep their food fresh every few days, especially in the heat.

Zap water in microwave. Then add sugar. Let cool.

Keep trying if at first none come.
Once they find your feeder and start coming, change the food about every 4 days in the heat.
In the spring, I change it once a week.

Busy busy, not much time to check the threads.
I may have mentioned this before Colkitto but I have a pair of bluebirds that have returned a couple years who insist on nesting in the canopy of my tractor. So long as I park it anywhere near the barn they locate it, return to the nest and feed the littles!
Even after a couple hours in the hay field the littles are still there and the parents return to them after a bit. It’s gotta be quite the experience for the littles to bounce around for a couple hours while the tractor is in use. Inconvenient for me at times but so long as they have a bit of time around mid day and a good period before dusk or after dawn they seem to adjust.
One nesting is complete but if they repeat last years pattern they will do another nest in a week or so.
Probably should screen off the little angle they use in the future and force them to find more suitable accommodations.

Have you ever tried hanging ( I like hanging boxes better because I think they are safer) or putting up a Bluebird box to see if you can draw them there instead of your tractor (kinda funny story)? Do you get any grassland birds like Meadowlarks, Bobolinks, Buntings, Savannah Sparrows etc? Ty for your fascinating story

Let’s see….we have a plethora of mocking birds, cardinals, chickadees (in the winter), transient robins, thrushes, wrens, sparrows, titmouse….really too many to list. My favorites are the doves and the wood thrush for their calls.
Something about the wood thrush call reminds me of a small tumbling brook.
We also have the raptors especially the nesting pairs of ospreys and the falcons all the way down to the wee kestrel. The occasional bald eagle and very occasionally a golden eagle. I have lost chickens to the eagles, they never knew what happened to them the eagles are so swift.
The bluebirds always seem to find nesting spots in the barn or outbuildings as do the wrens even though we have put out houses for the bluebirds.
We used to have lots of meadow larks but not so many as years ago to answer your question. It’s mid atlantic foothill forest and farms country with a river and lake nearby. We intentionally let some of our edges grow up and pile up some brush in the forest edges for cover for the birds and the rabbits.
We do have the red headed woodpeckers but the flickers are more common for some reason.
The Wood Thrush song is ethereal. Your a good land steward, helping out our wildlife. This may interest you. I see a couple of pairs on my way to work, but they did unfortunately put in a high density apartment complex right next to one of their nesting sites, and its going to change the traffic patterns and bring in brainwashed Liberal voters which is what Obozo the mouthpiece of the cultural marxist string pullers has said he wanted to do to destroy the suburbs. I believe PDJT’s Hud Secretary Dr Ben Carson had hamstrung the program during his time with PDJT. I’m watching this development unfold and not liking what I just saw this weekend while shopping.

Thank you for link. Sounds like meadowlarks couldn’t survive on mowed lawns. Fescue only hayfields might be problematical for them also. Sounds like untended land or rich pasture would be optimal.
One bird I truly miss is the eastern bob white quail. I never see or hear them anymore. Non native coyotes and cleaned out hedges may be the problems.
Yes, though I did rescue a young one but I was far away in the Mountains of NC just a few weeks ago. Before that a long time ago. They had reintroduced them to the Pine Barrens of NJ using I believe Arkansas birds. Those Coyotes are lethal.

We’ve had multiple years when they come back to the nest box and begin another brood. Six eggs in one box and 4 in another this spring. All survived……………….

She and I think many in your family will enjoy their movies. I have had artists in my family going back hundreds of years, and even ones in my generation and an aunt who was an art teacher. Notice Miyazaki did some animated Anne of Green Gables, along with a Ursula Le Guin and Alexander Key movies/series based on their books.

I have FlightAware on my iPad. Small planes, chartered planes are landing or “tentatively landing,” whatever the hell that means. I watched and tracked a plane from Orlando to Nashville, had Gate #’s and everything, and I’m not sure where it went. 🤣🤣

Its free, they have popups from time to time that say …. you need to (insert scare here) … all you have to do is upgrade.
Been using it for years, I do not need the “perks” they try to up-sell you to, I control my router and also have my own DNS files that I have windows block automatically, there is a website for updated block lists.
Router blocks all unsolicited packets/requests. <GRCdotCOM> will check for leaks and such for you, also free.
GRC is where I learned most of my security knowledge, used it for the last oh…25 years or so.
If you think you have a problem, <trendmicro> has free scanner to download to run and check for virus/malware.
Number one reason you ever have an issue is you clicked on something and installed it that is what infects most people.
Especially from an unsolicited email or popup.
This box I use for TCTH is a linux mint box with a VPN, don’t run anti virus, people really don’t hack linux, just windows because it is full of holes to exploit.
Supposedly windows defender(built into windows) suffices for most people. If you go into darker areas of the web, you need a little more protection.

We use AVG FREE. For $23/ yr though, you can get the all singing, all dancing one which takes care of everything, including registry issues, file conflicts, etc.

I hope everyone in their preparedness has considered potable water.
We purchased 10 of these jugs – notice the small and large spouts. I filter my water through the Brita filter and fill these jugs, label them the date of filling, and store them on a rack out in our garage.
For long term storage – about 2 years – they say for you to the pour the water in a bowl to allow it to oxygenate after long term storage to eliminate any flat taste.
They are terrific for camping and 1 1/2 jugs last us two throughout a weekend of camping (we also bring other drinks – too – but good for water for cooking, cleaning camp dishes, and drinking).

We also keep a supply of Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate “Aquatabs” in the event we need to pull water from the lake behind us. Hopefully never need it, but I like to be prepared, if we are camping and need water.
