One of my favorite gaming companies Taleworlds is located in Turkey mate. Where I used to live I came across a restaurant in the middle of nowhere that was run by a wonderful Turkish family, that refurbished an old lodge and made homemade (mother & aunt in the kitchen, sons were servers and renovated the restaurant) Turkish cuisine that was awesome. Numerous times their place was empty, but a lone McDonald’s that was up the old hwy was full. Showed me most people follow the elephant trail and will not “dare” something else.

One of the bitterest pills to swallow for Gen X was realizing that, thanks to movie propaganda, we grew up believing the Myth of the Super Competent Government Official.
I realized this watching The Fugitive recently. Hunt for Red October is another example in this genre. I slept better at night thinking we were safe in the hands of morally perfect, wonderfully competent officials who tirelessly pursued justice and kept the world safe.
Yes, it was never really true, but at least they used to do a better job covering up their inept stupidity.

I gave up TV in the 90’s but now and then see “NCIS” like shows making heros of vague federal cops as the singular heros of humanity. Repulsive, yet it clearly was a long game to create a slave-like faith in federal government as protectors.
TV shaped my generation too. I watch the Rifleman and Gunsmoke with my grandkids.
i am particularly insulted by the ongoing glorification of these federal agencies in shows lately: NCIS, FBI this or that…. its remarkable how you can trace the hollywood perceptions through time: now that they are persecuting the people, suddenly we are supposed to be big fans.

I mostly read mystery, suspense, thriller novels and I’ve quit reading any of them with a three letter institution hero, unless the character is fighting the institution. Even reading the lies/propaganda in the book blurbs makes me angry.
I also comment when someone tells me about such a novel. One of my favorites is to refer to the novel a fairy tale.

My fear is they will vote to disbar him as a contributor to a “J6 Insurrection” and then use that as evidence that President Trump is also guilty of provoking a “J6 Insurrection “

What were those aboard the “tourist submarine” expecting to see at the Titanic wreck that has NOT been wonderfully photographed before? Those videos and stills are widely available to see.
You can also see videos and still photos taken at the top of Mt. Everest. You don’t have to risk your life to climb Everest to see the view from its peak.
God gives us the sense of fear for a reason. Defying death for a vicarious thrill is to callously dismiss God’s wonderful gift of life which we should always treasure as a fragile and fleeting thing.
I think of this when I see cars speeding and weaving in and out of heavy traffic.
Nothing happens to those that do nothing.
Unless you do nothing while speeding cars are weaving in and out of traffic. A whole bunch of do nothings are dragged in to their accidents. And a few more are driven in to accidents by the hijinks.
You deal with cars, I will take my boat offshore, I will put my boots on and hike a long trail, I will strap on my backpack and go into the wilderness, I will sit in my kayak and run a river, I will pack my camper van and find an old dirt road that offers a place of solitude to camp, I will grab my guitar and go to open mics in towns I’ve never been to. When I’m too old to go out and do the things I love to do and my wife sees me smile, she will know it’s the memories.

excellent adventure. dec 1968-dec1969 vietanm 101st 502. made five jumps from a huey into live fire. that’s called a hot lz. usually from around five feet (with a full ruck and weapon)…once from around eight feet on a hill, i twisted my ankle and to this day (i’m now 74) it’s still a little tricky .

Whilst I do agree that the five souls aboard the private submarine that is currently lost took a big chance – one that I most likely would have turned down – I disagree with Gnome1949’s sentiment.
Some of my fondest memories are when I did something more daring than average. Climbing mountains (not exactly Everest, but still snow-capped mountains), zip lining over a croc-filled African river, repelling down a waterfall on the side of a volcano, scuba diving to a wreck 120′ below surface and encountering a large school of shark along the way… all excellent memories where I took a chance with my health.
Had I gotten the chance to fly aboard a space shuttle, even with a known catastrophic rate of ~2% (2 explosions in 135 flights), I would have taken that chance.
Some people prefer to look at videos and photos. Some people want to live those videos and photos.

It’s all a matter of degree, isn’t it? As an avid motorcyclist I have done my homework on motorcycle safety and I spare no expense in keeping my bike in good repair. Motorcycling is different things to different people. Ultimately, it has enabled me to visit people and places that I couldn’t afford otherwise plus the surreal experience of melding mind and machine. All four of your limbs are doing something completely different at the same time and if you can’t react instinctively, you’re in big trouble. (Similar to playing a drum kit in the use of all four limbs.)
In my younger days I was an avid technical ice and rock climber, but again, I did my homework to lessen the odds.
Experiencing these pursuits through reading or video pales. My goal has been to live a life and not just extend it.
I applaud you, truly. but, I still wont go on my husbands motorcycle, as I dont like noise, speed or death. mainly, I look back at my own risky business, and God has preserved me in spite of myself.
It terrifies me to ride as a passenger on a motorcycle. I don’t like passengers on my bike either unless it’s for a short ride. I prefer mid size bikes anyway and not the big heavy touring types of bikes like Gold Wings etc. I’d love to meet a woman who has her own motorcycle.

I’m not endorsing Tim Sheets – never heard of him. But I know a little bit about being sent with a message to deliver, and that’s all I am going to say.
So I’m not going to rule out that others are similarly being sent. It makes sense that God would send His prophets and messengers out in this critical moment of time.
Discernment, OTOH, is both vital and scarce. What is a psy op and what is of God, what is saying yes to God and what is being moved around by someone else’s psy op? Even the speaker does not always know for sure.

Your entire post is taken from a NEW APOSTOLIC REFORMATION site. It seems disingenuous not to mention you are touting a particular religion. People here should do their own research as to what the NAR really is. As near as I can tell most/all (?) Orthodox Churches have a problem with this non religion/religion’s doctrines. The Seventh Day Activists warn about it and from the reasons espoused by the Orthodox Churches I will venture to guess the Roman Catholic Church doesn’t approve.

Retired Magistrate here: I have seen so many comments that people are very worried about what is going on this country right now. Yes, I understand, this country is in a mess right now.
However, all worry does is waste the blessings GOD has given you today.
One thing that chronic health issues has taught me is to be grateful for the blessings GOD has given me today: I got out of bed, dressed myself, fixed breakfast for myself and my husband, and am getting ready to go for a walk on this beautiful Central Ohio day. Several years ago, I could not do many of the things I just mentioned. I think of my brother who is dying of ALS; he would be grateful if he could talk and eat.
There is no guarantee that any of us will live to see tomorrow; that is up to GOD, so don’t waste the day that GOD has given you with worry.

Amen, Marcia. As an open heart/heart attack survivor, every day is a gift to me now, to do with the best that I can. Facing crippling invalidism is a real wakeup call. I know my days are numbered, but will never know the number until it comes up, at any time, anywhere. It is like Politics, which was NEVER intended by God to be the primary focus of our lives.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the humility to know the difference. ( I know, I changed the last attribute in that invocation. I have the humility to know that I am not that wise.)
This is the reality behind Sundance’s prayer that we “Live our Best Lives”. Every day is a gift. Accept it, use it, touch someone else’s heart today, thank the Lord for that opportunity, and humbly ask for another. Rinse, and repeat, as often as possible, ’til unto Death do ye part.

This is so true. If you allow yourself to become upset you are in a sense making their lies and propaganda real.

Thus the GSMNP is the only National Park where there is no entry fee. We bought a new “smart” washer and dryer a couple of years ago. The washer and dryer communicate via WiFi. I cautiously let them use my WiFi. My next internet bill tripled (I use limited 4g cellular internet in remote location). The washer and dryer were using twice the internet bandwidth as the entire household and communicating to a cloud computer IP address in China. With broadband/fiber, a user would not have noticed this. That puppy got its wires clipped.
I wonder if that’s why they want us all to have the appliances that allegedly “save” energy but do not work as well?

And they also had no (elementary school-level!) textbooks that parents couldn’t have done with them in an hour or two a day… (How much time per day do people really believe is devoted in public schools to actual direct instruction — let alone anything one-on-one?)
I guess that my own kids must have “lost” 10-12 years of important “schooling” and “socialization” when they just didn’t go at all…

Just talked to a principal in one of our local suburban public school systems about the Covid regression of kids. She said that everyone at all grade levels are pretty much behind where they should be academically. The younger kids are catching back up but for the older ones, middle and High school, they will be behind the rest of their school years. Socially and academically, kids suffered and it’s been very difficult for them to move on.
Will the Black community that the White Democrats have been using be outraged and start an outcry over this?
