Although lately the content is more important than most know. If only people realized it’s just as poisoned as the food they eat..
Who knew one could become radicalized in the hunt for safe shampoo? Safe skin lotion……. Safe food……. Safe clothing……
It really is though.. Just about everything prepackaged in the store from shampoo, soap, suntan lotion, beard oil, food/drink and more has something added to it that causes cancer. When you add it all up it’s no surprise really. Getting rid of meat and restricting farming is the final step to ensure you, your children and grandchildren remain poisoned forever. My song post below about things not really changing covers this in the background. If one pays close attention to the details in the scenes. The only way to be free is to leave it all behind.

Dove 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner. Lather, rinse, repeat. I have naturally curly hair. Curly hair is flat and dries out quicker. When it dries out it gets frizzy on the sides so every third shower or so I only shampoo once and then use Nexus Humectress.
Dove gentle exfoliating soap. Scrub with a dark green colored scrunchy.
Back brush stiff bristle.
Not taking as many showers as I used to. Depends on activity. I can’t remember the last time I took a bath. Showers are all that is needed. But I don’t go to bed dirty.

My college-age boys have discovered that parabens disrupt the endocrine system and sulfates can cause cancer, so they choose shampoos without those ingredients.

Afternoon Bet!Taking a little breather here. Last night the 3 grands wanted to watch a movie so they all ended up asleep in our bed. Elizabeth very smartly went to one of the bedrooms upstairs. I fought the good fight until 2:20 and finally found a bed upstairs, too. The problem this morning was that Miss V. and Nipper decided to get up early. 🙂 Oh well, the breakfast that I cooked for them on the new griddle was a hit. This afternoon we are taking the whole crew back to their parents.
And before I forget, we had a great little birthday party for Mom. It was just the 3 grands, oldest son and DIL, Mom, Busy Lizzy and I. Had 2 fairly thin slices of tiramisu and German Chocolate cake, and 2 giant scoops of Homemade Vanilla and Mint Chocolate Chip Blue Bell.

Classic selections today. Guthrie’s songs take me back to my high school and college days…..Vietnam War protests, Woodstock. Those memories among others from that era are forever burned into my mind, as they are in many others, I am certain.
Sitting in a Soc class on social change while a Kent State protest was going on outside—the irony was not lost on us. 🙂
Oh yes. I had joined the MDARNG a few months earlier to avoid getting drafted and sent to Nam. My friend was over in DaNang with the USMC and had written to me advising to avoid going at all costs.
So I signed up for stateside duty, with the proviso that I would willingly transfer to regular Army and go overseas if I got trained on rotary wing aircraft (helicopters). That never happened since my vision was 20/15 corrected with eyeglasses, although the Army once in 1971 lowered vision requirements to that level for 30 days to recover from low numbers of helo pilots, but my Battalion Exec Officer found out too late for me…. (possible divine intervention?)
Little did I know I would be in the thick of the “Battle of College Park” as my unit called it for one week in May of ’70, within days of graduating from college. But despite some tense moments and getting pelted with rocks, bricks, and bottles of urine, there were no bullets fired at us in that venue. Contrary to some reports, on a few days that week some of us were issued live ammo but it was kept in magazines on our ammo belts, not kept in the M16’s. We were never ordered to load….thank God.

I see just as much static in the world today.. seems a lot of it is just ambient noise to most. I assume for some it’s the generation gap. There is lots of detail hidden in the noise. but only if one knows how to parse the garbled string.
Lol – at first I thought it was a trailer for an upcoming Hangover movie – what it be be now 4 or 5? 2 was my favorite. Anyway, not my “sound” but I think the vid hits the mark exactly – considering the target market who would listen/view. They’d “get” it. So long as the “message” (hopefully they get it) gets to them, it can only help shine the light into the darkest places/cracks. Even if they don’t yet recognize it.
I hear that my friend. There is an older version of the song and video that breaks the message down more directly.
This one is more difficult for the youths of today to finish but the older crowd usually gets it. Plus they actually remember all the commercials and references. I’ve posted it before but I’ll add it again here.

Yeah, Sorry to say, I have to agree with you about the Presidential blog; plus a few extremely unfriendly types, who start tearing into you if they recognize your name. Can’t really have an intelligent or respectful conversation with someone like that. Disagreeing is okay, but bullying and incivility doesn’t make much sense.
I find that people who ‘sleep’ their way to the top are very proud of the ‘skills’ they used to get there, and very afraid that a younger fresher set of ‘tools’ will take their place. They can be incredibly stupid about other things, but not about their ‘path’ to power.

6/16/2023 – What manner of communications are these that you have one to another, as you walk, and are sad?
Luke 24:17,25-27 “And He said unto them, What manner of communications are these that you have one to another, as you walk, and are sad? . . . Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken; ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”
We should not read any Scriptures, thinking only in terms of ‘they,’ and ‘back then,’ but as they are meant for us to examine ourselves, and give God’s guidance, how we should think and believe and conduct our lives. This picture of the Lord Jesus coming and speaking to these two men; yet their eyes being held that they should not know Him; is a picture of great instruction and guidance for us today, who are the same weak and vulnerable to being misguided in unscriptural hopes. They were indeed disciples; but they were in a quandary of trouble and confusion, and their whole faith being threatened, because of wrong notions, human thinking, and unbelief.
Obviously, none of us needs to be told, that Jesus already knew what all was up with these two brothers; and that His manner of questioning them was for drawing specifically what was the matter with them, that they had such sad communications and really stupid talk. If the Lord didn’t know that they were truly His friends, despite their present distress and trouble; He would not have bothered to invite Himself into their conversation. He that is higher than the highest, and whose understanding cannot be measured, is able to look past our shortcomings and stupidity, at what He knows we will be, after He has taught us better. And when He still sees hope in us, despite what appears for the present, we can be thankful when He takes over the conversation.
Now it became immediately clear, by the way they answered, that they were in serious trouble. What they had believed and hoped for, had, as far as they could see, come to a complete and catastrophic failure. “Jesus of Nazareth, a prophet mighty in word and deed before God and all the people; whom we had trusted would redeem Israel; the chief priests and our rulers have delivered up to be condemned to death, and have crucified Him! And next to all that, this is now three days ago; and certain women from our company, who were early at the tomb, found not His body, and came with a story that they had seen a vision of angels, saying that He is alive!” We should not make light of what trouble they were in; for there are multitudes today, who are similarly about to face the same things. That’s why this lesson is so important, that the Holy Spirit made sure it was written for us. So let’s examine what is happening here; and how the Lord helps them to find their way out of it, into those hearts burning with joy, as they have the Scriptures opened to them.
First thing the Lord asks them about, is, What kind of communications are these that you have with each other; as you walk along and are sad? This is the first step to drawing them into the Light. Look at yourselves: what’s going on with you? And what kind communications are these? Some may take offence at the familiar way the Lord talks to them; and moves into the conversation with such a searching question, “from a complete stranger.” But talking to the Lord just as naturally as to anyone, what they are struck with, is that they can hardly believe, that any one would not have heard what had happened in these last days. But what’s quite interesting, is how when they start to tell Him about Who they “thought” Jesus of Nazareth is, and what they were expecting; and how the worst imaginable catastrophe and atrocity has been committed; that the Lord, instead of shaking His head in sympathy for their distress, reproaches their stupidity and unbelief: turning it instead upon them, saying, How is it that you did not know; that it was necessary for Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? Better still; Fools, Stupid, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken; ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? You talk about the Redeemer having come; but don’t you understand what redemption even means? For it is evident that you don’t believe the prophets!
Weren’t they brought up in a very devout, Bible-based society; and that from childhood they had been taught out of the holy Scriptures, in their homes, and in Synagogue every Sabbath? Hadn’t they seen Jesus Himself, in the flesh, these last three and a half years; doing innumerable miracles and healings of every conceivable sickness and bodily disorder, and even raising the dead; and heard Him teaching the things concerning the kingdom of God? And even while they were expecting with joyful anticipation, that this same Jesus was in fact the long awaited Redeemer; yet their expectation was not according to knowledge, according to the Scriptures.
What had they been hearing and learning all their lives in the Synagogues? There’s a part where it is noted, that the people were astonished at Jesus’ teaching; “for it was not like the scribes and doctors of the law, but as One having authority.” This should give us a strong indication, as to why they didn’t know the things they should have; because of the natural tendency to doubt and question and try to put some human reasoning to teach the Scriptures; and not to simply believe all that the prophets have spoken. So along with a culture of unbelief and human thinking, that has to give its certification to the doctrine; there was no one teaching the word with the authority of the Holy Spirit who inspired it; because they did not know Him.
How did some “ideas” become so overwhelmingly popular, that they were in time counted as Doctrine? And was no one curious, that while the bulk of the Bible was a sealed book to them; and no one able to give the sense and the meaning; that still, somehow, certain fantastic notions are able to take hold, that appeal to so many! But in the Lord’s answer, is not a word to comfort and reassure the “poor dear misunderstanding and frightened” brothers, but open shaming and rebuke, straight and clear! “O fools, morons, stupid, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken; ought not Messiah to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?
Multitudes of disciples today are doing the same as these two brothers; stuck in stupidity because of wrong ideas, and preconceived notions, about who Jesus is, and what means “Redemption;” stuck in sadness and darkness of mostly their own doing; because they believe not all that the prophets have spoken. Having Bibles, but not knowing them; being brought up in Church and Christian surroundings, but not believing all that the prophets have spoken: and all the while holding on to unscriptural ideas about why Jesus has come into the world. They got the lingo right, but they didn’t know what it meant; and when the hour of trial and temptation came, they were not ready, and were scandalized and confused.
There are the most important questions that every man has to get the answer to, in the Scriptures. God has decreed, that the righteous shall live by faith; that by believing the report of another man, God would prove who is or isn’t of the truth. If someone doesn’t believe the word told to him; it is not because of the worth of the person delivering the word, in anyone’s estimation; but the quality of the word, that makes it of God. Whether God chooses to send someone small and least esteemed to speak His words to people; is for proving who is really of the truth, that will hear His voice. And the way God judges, if they don’t receive one of these little ones who believes in Him; doesn’t receive Him. And we know well, that the banishing of truth out of the land, is a sign that we are in the very last days, and that the apostasy is nearly accomplished, to make way for the abomination of desolation being set up. And if the Lord has abandoned sending any more to speak to people; its because He has seen no more reason to send; and their destruction is imminent.
2 Peter 1:19-21 “We have more sure the prophetic word; whereunto you do well taking heed, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the Light Bearer arise in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation: for the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
These two brothers received the word when it was expounded to them accurately; and their lives were changed. We don’t know how many more times the Lord is going to reach out out to this generation; but we can fairly guess, that in the degree that its getting worse AND WORSE, it isn’t because they are repenting, and believing in Jesus! Hold fast that which you have; and in what things the Lord has against you, repent; and prepare your ways before Him. Think about how many millions wished they would have repented at the preaching of Enoch, or when they saw Noah one hundred years building the ark! Once the Master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door; its too late!
Usually when I read a bible verse that sounds off, I turn to the KJV, but whatever your source, it is identical to the KJV.
This is though an interesting verse to use in comparing translations.

Did Jesus say they were sad, or is it an author aside? Does a translation sound like a 70’s sitcom? There are so many different ways this simple verse is translated.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the reply.
I primarily read the King James Version; but have also George Ricker Berry’s Greek/English Interlinear New Testament, which is taken from Stephens 1550, aka the Textus Receptus (Received Text), which was handed down from Paul to the Christians in Northern Italy and Southern France, (Albigensians and Waldensians, I think?). That with the Strong’s Concordance and Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, are a huge help understanding the archaic and original meanings; which is what we want to do, is understand the meaning, in order to keep it and do it. Most times when I copy out a text from the 1611 King’s English, I think it conveys more easily the sense and the meaning if I change to modern form, without taking any words away; for example, thou = you, thither = to this place, thence = from that place, etc. Other times I like to give the more accurate translation of a word, that the King James translators chose something maybe not perfectly fitting or in context to what is said. A lot of this however, comes from my perceived ‘modern-day’ understanding and use of words, that was likely quite different in the 17th century man’s understanding. In every case, my hope and prayer is God would bless and prosper my good intentions and efforts to bring out the sense and the meaning of the word, for everyone who has a heart for it.
Luke 24:19 (Textus Receptus) “And He said to them, What words (matters, things) [are] these which you exchange with one another as you walk, and are downcast in countenance?” There is no indication that Luke is adding a comment at all; but simply writing the narrative. As far as “so many ways to translate,” I don’t fully subscribe to that idea; except for the fact that the Lord does reveal more to us, as we’re able to bear it. It also says, that “When we come together, each one of us has an interpretation . . . ” and in the same idea as there being four Gospel Narratives, and each one is a unique witness of the same things, from another perspective; but all the same Spirit. If the Holy Spirit reveals something to one, and another thing to another, they will both still be Scriptural and in agreement with the Spirit. For just now, we all only see partially and obscurely; and God has ordained it, that through love and humility, we should receive His word by faith, spoken through other men.

And the part where Paul said, that Satan manifests himself “as an angel of light;” so its no big deal if his ministers transform themselves (make themselves appear to be) as ministers of righteousness. Signs and wonders are real; but they are not automatically signs from God, like Jesus’ were, and the apostles. The devil’s children also can be given supernatural powers. Despite the most sacred cow beliefs about so-called science today; man’s natural knowledge and abilities to harness and manipulate nature, are not the proof if something is true or real. Natural man cannot understand the things of God, because they are spiritually discerned; and natural man doesn’t want spiritual discernment, because it would mean an honest accounting of himself to God and each other. So, only what he can see or hear, or touch or taste or smell; and even those things have to be subject to his belief and worldview.
Long story short, we shouldn’t be surprised by anything the devil and his people are allowed to do in these last days. God has ordained it, to find out who will finally be His and of the truth, or not.

The hymn “Loved with Everlasting Love” says, “Heaven above is softer blue/ Earth around is sweeter green/ Something lives in every hue/ Christless eyes have never seen.” Think of it. Once you come to know the Savior, things you never saw before come sharply into view. Your perspective changes.
The apostle Paul repeatedly tells the believer to “put off your old self,” and “put on the new self” (Ephesians 4:22,24, Colossians 3:9-10, Rom 6:6). Sandwiched between the two in verses in Ephesians, verse 23, is the emphasis that you should “be renewed in the spirit of your minds.” If you put off the old without replacing it with something better, you create a vacuum in which the devil can settle.
Once you are born again, the power of the Holy Spirit works within to replace the old with the new… new thoughts and new principles to live by, a new perspective. You were crucified with Christ, but are now raised to a new way of living (Hebrews 10:20).
It is an intelligent change. Your brain is the same, but the “spirit of your mind” has changed. It is no longer a mind focused on things of the flesh (Romans 8:5). As Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones says, “When regeneration takes place, a new disposition is put into us, a new principle of life begins to operate. The new spirit enters into the mind and controls it and directs it… in a right direction.”
The Spirit of God enables the believer to think in a new way. He gives peace where there was chaos as you bring your thoughts captive to Him!
Today, pray for this nation’s citizens and public servants, people who need the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I saw the question on the Canadian wildfires too late yesterday.
Canada has had raging wild fires many times in the past but it is only to be expected that politicians and alarmist idiots and liars would blame these on “climate change”. You all should know the program by now. Anything bad that happens in the natural world will be blamed on “climate change”.
Anthony Watts, the creator of the most visited web page/blog on the internet. Far more hits than any alarmist site. Made a rare TV appearance on the subject and like several others gave the facts that put the claims to bed for those actually seeking the truth:

I will say it is very suspicious though that several fires apparently optimally separated, started almost the same time in Ontario. That fact is indisputable as shown on satellite. But it is also a fact that lightning could have caused that.
Really I didn’t get suspicious about it due to the satellite coverage. I got suspicious when all the usual sources and so called “fact checkers” came out at about the same time declaring the idea that the fires were intentionally set a “conspiracy theory” since we have seen many times over the last years that what when the “press” and “fact checkers” do that, it is eventually revealed that the “conspiracy theorists” were correct all along.
“How dare you !!!”
Lately, both countries are reaping the natural consequences of bad policies. However the fires start, they become bad because of bad forestry management. As true for CA (Canada) as it is for CA (California).
Such fires are a natural and restorative part of nature. The more that deadfall and undergrowth build up then worse the fire will be. That is the problem with fire suppression and lack of controlled burns. It is also a fact a lot more people have been building in forested areas, and so the failures to pay for and apply appropriate policies are more disastrous than the once were. Those econut water melons that have been fighting to prevent proper management and the politicians that buy into it are culpable for much of the damage and suffering we have seen from wildfires over the last thirty years or so.
The damage and suffering doesn’t come from just fires. Here in California the lack of forest management has resulted in exorbitant home owners insurance costs.
We used to have fire districts in the state. Each district was rated for its prevalence of fires. Of course, the mountains were the highest rated and came with astronomical insurance costs. Most of the folks who can afford to live in the mountains aren’t poor or middle class folks.
About 15 or so years ago the rich got tired of paying their fair share and lobbied the state to get rid of the districts. They were successful and all fire costs were averaged throughout the state. My insurance agent at the time warned me in advance that my home owners insurance was going to skyrocket because of the averaging – and it did – more than doubled from one year to the next.
But hey, the rich get to pay much, much less and pass their costs on to those of us who are likely to never experience a fire while their mountain homes burn down regularly.
Another bone headed thing they did was import eucalyptus trees. Those tree’s are highly flammable! Besides letting the deadfall and undergrowth accumulate, they allowed the vegetation to grow too close to the power lines.
So this year they got inundated. That means vegetation will sprout and then die and dry out in the dog days making for perfect tinder. And when the fires come, what gets blamed? You got it! CLIMATE CHANGE!
Two of my kids still live in California and both have been telling about all the brush and wild grass growth in their areas. One lives in the Sierra foothills, the other in the coastal mountains southeast of Monterey (Fort Hunter Liggett). My family also in San Diego County are inundated with huge growth also. It’s gonna be a bad and long fire season this year.

When fires do start they burn hot and move fast.

Good morning, Bet. Had some thunderstorms pass through here last night. And the wind really picked up for a short while. We were under a tornado watch for a few hours but I wasn’t too worried about it.

A blessing from out of nowhere..
Chris had a very nice keyboard and stool which he no longer plays. He put it up for sale on our local Buy n Sell and soon received an enquiry from a man about an hour and a half away from us whose 7- year old son has started piano lessons. Chris explained to him that due to breathing issues he would need to do most of the heavy lifting. A sale was agreed, and with a few more back and tos by texts, he showed up yesterday afternoon.
He was lovely and we chatted about his young son and how excited he was to begin his musical journey.
Then, he handed us a thank you note from his son, beautifully written on a proper note card. It said, in surprisingly excellent writing (for a 7-year old),
“Dear Mr Chris,
Thank you for selling us your piano. I will love learning how to play on it!
Love,
Jordy”
I could have wept… it was so sweet to think how his mother is teaching him the niceties of life. When I commented on how wonderful his handwriting was, his dad explained that they homeschool and are Christians.
And then, this young father said, “We wanted you to have this because it might help with your breathing,” and gave us a bottle of the supplement NAC which many good doctors like Peter McCullough recommend and which Chris has been taking until we ran out and hadn’t replaced due to cost. We offered to reimburse him, but he wouldn’t have it. We were overwhelmed and even that word is inadequate to explain how touched we were.
And then this wonderful Christian dad asked if he could pray with us for Chris’s full recovery. And this we did, the three of us holding hands tightly, knowing that Jesus Christ was with us as we did so.
After he left I immediately texted Jordy (through his blessed mother) to thank him for his sweet note. His mother answered saying that surely our paths were meant to cross…and we agreed (!!!)…and asked us to connect with her on FB so we could keep up with her young son’s progress. And even though we are far from one another, said if we ever needed any help around the house as her husband, like Chris, is very handy, he would be pleased to drive all that way to give us a hand.
We’ve already had FB interactions with this beautiful family and pictures of their excited lad sitting at his new piano smiling and practicing.
I’m sorry this is so long. But I had to post this story of this loving family who Almighty God has placed in our lives at a most unexpected time. We consider it an amazing blessing and one which came from nowhere. It has truly lifted our hearts…
…and so, dear duchess, to your faithful post I can only say that though this one may seem small, it really is quite big, and we are so grateful for it. And I say a huge Amen, AMEN!!🙏🏻😘 Blessed be your day, my friend.

Thanks! I have been through it(PT) before when I cracked my 3rd and 4th lumbar playing football at 14. My current issue is in the thoracic.
The old exercises I still remember help my lower back but not the upper regions. I am sure the exercise machines at the therapist have improved since the ’90’s.
I have to do something to break out of this world of hurt limbo I have found myself in for the last four years. The pain management Doctor I spoke with last week demanded I have a substance abuse assessment and attend any and all counseling that is recommended because I held a medical marijuana card to control my pain after I detoxed myself from prescribed opioids four years ago.
All this would need to happen before he would even consider re prescribing pain killers, even though I have no traces left of cannabis in my system. This is truly bizzaro world.

You gotta take care of it yourself. Don’t worry about them. Do what you need to do. I know all about lower lumbar problems. Have been in two major vehicles accidents.
Both times I was stopped I’m my truck and got rear ended by distracted drivers.
Trucks were both completely destroyed.

Seat belts save lives.

I was laid up for months and months .
Never got into the pain meds . Take the pain , what you can and use it .
Offer it up to the Lord.
Use lots of supplements , like Tumeric.
Therapy has changed

Oh , they will talk to you but they will be constantly looking at the time and entering stuff.

My son had a single rollover accident on the Eve of his 21st long ago on a rural road…car decimated. He was not and walked away unscathed. I am a huge believer that his Guardian Angels were on duty that night.🙏🏻💕

Jesus does not ask me to die for Him, but to lay down my life for Him. Peter said – “I will lay down my life for Thy sake” and he meant it; his sense of the heroic was magnificent. It would be a bad thing to be incapable of making such a declaration as Peter made; the sense of our duty is only realized by our sense of the heroic. Has the Lord ever asked you – “Wilt thou lay down thy life for My sake?” It is far easier to die than to lay down the life day in and day out with the sense of the high calling. We are not made for brilliant moments, but we have to walk in the light of them in ordinary ways. There was only one brilliant moment in the life of Jesus, and that was on the Mount of Transfiguration; then He emptied Himself the second time of His glory, and came down into the demon-possessed valley. For thirty-three years Jesus laid out His life to do the will of His Father, and , John says, “we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” It is contrary to human nature to do it.
If I am a friend of Jesus, I have deliberately and carefully to lay down my life for Him. It is difficult, and thank God it is difficult. Salvation is easy because it cost God so much, but the manifestation of it in my life is difficult. God saves a man and endues him with the Holy Spirit, and then says in effect – “Now work it out, be loyal to Me, whilst the nature of things round about you would make you disloyal.” “I have called you friends.” Stand loyal to your Friend, and remember that His honour is at stake in your bodily life.

Juneteenth? Somehow my family and everyone I knew survived all our lives not even knowing about it before a few years ago. It may have meaning to those direct descendants of slaves in Texas who were directly affected by that one-time event, but it holds little meaning for the rest of the world. Most of my black friends and neighbors quietly scoff at the rise of new, absurd levels of political correctness under Ozero’s reign that led to this becoming a federal holiday).
The Abolition of Slave Trade (1862) followed by Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863, followed by the Thirteenth Amendment’s ratification in 1865 are what really ended the practice of slavery. Juneteenth simply marks when abolition was formally announced by U.S. General Gordon Granger in Galveston, Texas.
We could hardly avoid it as my sweet mother in law chose Juneteenth to be born on😂 And in Texas. So in effect we were celebrating it before it became fashionable but for alternative reasons.

Thank you for the cute picture, Betsy. I was lucky to run into a local coffee artisan at our neighborhood farmers market yesterday and acquired a bag of extra high octane contraband. So I’m ready to Woo-Hoo!

Another serendipitous thing happened.
Every year, the Shalom House here in Central Indiana has a garden tour where half dozen families open up their properties to the public to view their miraculous gardens. It’s a fundraiser for feeding the hungry. I couldn’t find tickets for the life of me… until I ran into a guy at the farmers market and he asked me if I had heard of the Shalom House. Told him.. had I ever and explained my predicament.
Turns out he’s a head kahuna and he blessed me with two tickets and I gave him a nice donation. They need volunteers really badly… so we will see if I can’t find out more and do some sleeve rolling.
So kiddo and I will resume our tradition of touring the gardens tomorrow for my birthday which is Monday. Number 5-0…. oh where did they go???

Took Monday off. No one should work on their birthday. Sleeping in and Savannah has her first online Study Skills class starting Monday.

Joe Bastardi says that the tropical wave coming off of Africa has a good potential to develop. The MJO (Maddan Julian Oscillation) has now moved into phase 4 which is good for development though not for hitting the US mainland. He says that in the MDR (Main Development Region) the conditions are like mid hurricane season, and so it should not be a surprise if this wave develops. IOW we may be seeing what will develop into the first Atlantic Hurricane of the season.

It’s one of those days when I felt like I never fully woke up. New washing machine is installed and Sherry is doing her first load in it. Has the clear top so you can see what’s going on and she really likes that.
The washing machine came while Sherry was out grocery shopping and was installed and ready for her to use it when she got back.
She has eggs boiling for egg salad. IMO the trick to good egg salad is getting the right balance between the mustard and vinegar. She picked up some really good looking roast beef from the deli. So dinner tonight will be a roast beef sandwich with lettuce and horsey sauce and egg salad.
Though it is a nice cool and cloudy day out and would be perfect for trimming the lilac bushes, I just don’t feel much like doing anything today. So they’ll wait.
Hey rah, prefer mustard a bit of mayo, salt, pepper and paprika. Mustard already has enough vinegar for me.
How many like three or four bean salad in the summer? Lotsa vinegar in it and it must be cold and in the fridge for 24 before any good.
Saw a big Track hoe that slid forward on the deck of an RGN (removable goose neck) at a stop light his morning in the local community. Driver must not have secured it/tied it down, at all, it was only a 40 mph zone. Dirt and dust everywhere and it ended up with the tracks into the rear triple axle of the tractor. Fenders, mudflaps and who knows what else was torn up. No DOT was on scene when went by so maybe driver escaped with license intact.
Pretty dangerous to the public seeming neglect on the part of that driver.
Back to the hay fields.

I used to make egg salad sandwiches for Chris to take to work. Everyone else went out to eat. Can’t imagine how much was spent over a year doing that.
One day I sent two sandwiches with him, and he gave one to his manager and dear friend. Chris said every day thereafter, this good friend would ask if I’d made egg salad sandwiches for his lunch. So when I did, I’d always make extra for him.
All my own recipe was was hard boiled eggs mashed to bits with a fork, a dash of seasoned salt and lots of pepper, mustard and mayo…that was it.No prescribed amounts, just eye balled the eggs and added appropriately.
The sandwiches never tasted the same each time but if I do say so myself they were always darned good.
