Don’t Worry About Me

Good morning all!
Yesterday I finally got the new lighting system installed for my flag and pole. Two of the highest lums and wattage low volt spot lights I could find. A New 300 Amp transformer to run them. Lights mounted on top of 2x6s placed at the corner of the box at the base. Transformer and all weather 110 V outlet mounted on the sides of one of those 2 x 6s. All mounted far enough off the ground that if they get flooded out I’m going to have a lot more problems to worry about than the lighting of the flag pole. I had to use 2x6s because the screws for mounting the transformer are 4″ apart.

The lighting is not adequate as far as I’m concerned. Though it technically meets the standard, Old Glory needs to be better illuminated IMO. I am going to try and rework my old light and if I can get it working again, then I will get the effect I want. It’s a 100W all weather spot. If I can get it working then I will mount it up where it will take a biblical flood to get to it, just like the others. But at least now I’m in compliance with the flag code with the set up I have.

The top of the 4x6s are cut at a 45 deg. angle to help with water drainage. Top and sides of the outlet box sealed with RTV silicone. When I have it all set up the way I want it, I will stain the sides of those boards to match the red castle rock that forms the outside of the box at the base of the pole. The tops of the 4 x 6s will get a coat of Flex-Seal.

Farmer told me that as far as he was concerned the two days of slow soaking rain we got this week “was a million dollar rain”. Came right at the best time to have the maximum positive effect on the crops.

You have inherited the Divine nature, says Peter (v. 4), now screw your attention down and form habits, give diligence, concentrate. “Add” means all that character means. No man is born either naturally or supernaturally with character, he has to make character. Nor are we born with habits; we have to form habits on the basis of the new life God has put into us. We are not meant to be illuminated versions, but the common stuff of ordinary life exhibiting the marvel of the grace of God. Drudgery is the touchstone of character. The great hindrance in spiritual life is that we will look for big things to do. “Jesus took a towel…and began to wash the disciples’ feet.”
 
There are times when there is no illumination and no thrill, but just the daily round, the common task. Routine is God’s way of saving us between our times of inspiration. Do not expect God always to give you His thrilling minutes, but learn to live in the domain of drudgery by the power of God.
 
It is the “adding” that is difficult. We say we do not expect God to carry us to heaven on flowery beds of ease, and yet we act as if we did! The tiniest detail in which I obey has all the omnipotent power of the grace of God behind it. If I do my duty, not for duty’s sake, but because I believe God is engineering my circumstances, then at the very point of my obedience the whole superb grace of God is mine through the Atonement.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.   – 2 Timothy 3:16

In Paul’s letter to Timothy, he covers four areas in which the Word of God can be applied: in teaching, reproof, correction, and training. Just like education is important in a general sense, it is imperative to living a Christian life. The Lord’s ways often seem counterintuitive.

It is better to give than receive (Acts 20:35). Love enemies and pray for persecutors (Matthew 5:44). Lose your life and you will find it (Matthew 10:39). How important teaching is when it comes to learning how to please the Lord and live life as His follower! 

Reproof addresses wrong behavior which could lead to harming others or yourself. Proverbs 9:8 says, “Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.” Correction is showing the right way, once the wrong way has been exposed. James writes, “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin” (James 4:17).

Training in righteousness applies to practices beyond head knowledge in living out your faith and doing God’s will in community. James also wrote, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22). The Bible, God’s very own words, are His instructions to you personally.  

In the United States, despite the Constitution protecting freedom of speech and religion, the public use of the Word of God is being restricted. Pray that the citizenry and government officials will stand for the Bible, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Intercede for the nonprofit ministries that advocate for believers in this country.

Praise the Lord we had some rain! My vegetables are sick of the groundwater and the dry sandy ground underneath my amended soils pull the moisture directly out of them like a giant sponge. This place is dust bowl or a mud pit!

Fortunately, when I discovered a nephew had provided DNA and family tree information to that outfit, when I read what he had submitted, the names and relationships of the people he named were so messed up there’s no way connections could be made (he thought grandparent’s family friends were actually relatives and stuff like that! – and I did not correct him,

figured that was an early way to throw some sand in the machine, just let the errors ride. It helped he was mad at me at the time, left my name off the list of aunts and uncles. Thanks kiddo.)

Well, after 15 years of excellent and trouble free service the motor on our LG high capacity top loading washing machine has given out. Besides cloths, towels, etc…, Sherry has washed a lot of throw rugs in it also. Not going to bother with repairs. Off to Lowe’s to get a new one. Another high capacity top loader of course. Probably an LG since these days most stuff like that lasts only 10-12 years and Sherry has done a lot of washing while we had our kids living with us at various times.

The LG dryer we bought at the same time as the washing machine is still working fine.
