Good morning, bro!!😘 Texas is too warm for a lot of plants which I found to my cost when we first arrived back. I had visions of a beautiful garden which it really was for a few years. Then in spite of staying on top of watering etc, then the killer freeze of a couple of years ago, it was destroyed. Insert sad face here :((((((((
Our Welsh garden was a triumph and so beautiful. And in spite of very harsh winters when we despaired of its returning in the spring, it always did…lush and more lovely than the year before.
I always thought in watching it happen over
and over that it was God’s way of yearly reminding us of the glorious transition from our dead earthly bodies into our bodies in the hereafter with Him🙏🏻💕
It sure is, dear sister. We got a reminder of it this year and the rain after a year and a half drought. An explosion of plant life and wildflowers.
It’s amazing how fast a good soaking rain…or several…will bring out the life in plants and flowers so quickly….and the green, green grass (of home😉).
I love lilacs. They grow like weeds where I live and are a delight. They are the main reason I visit all of my extended family’s graves on Memorial Day. The lilacs are quite reliable in being presentable then, and carefully selecting the most perfect and beautiful ones is pretty much a family tradition.
My mom loved coming down with me to her front and side yard and instructing me as to the best ones to snip to take to the cemetery as if they weren’t obvious. I never complained, it was fun, and an important means of participation for her.
Having lost her early last year, it’s become one of those important traditions to me, and this year with the weird Spring, my pilgrimage was very short! the ones by her house were mostly over, dead and sunburnt, but the sheltered, shaded ones on the North side of my house were perfect, so my quest consisted of a bucket, snippers, and 3-5 steps out my back door. 🤣
She would have laughed, then teased me a bit about being lazy, but with that smile to make sure I knew she was joking.
Miss her so much, but still love the lilacs.

Just saw it – thank you. What were your employees using for major medical health insurance? Were they using SANA in conjunction with the HSA? HSA is just a savings account – so not health insurance itself – just tax free monies used towards medical expenses.
You mentioned O-Care kaboshed your HSA – we are all on O-Care now and trying to get AWAY from it. SANA is a major medical health insurance company (PPO) and is a few hundred dollars a month more than the O-Care plans we are on currently – but we may be willing to pay MORE to alleviate the O-Care income limits and avoid retroactive penalties. We hate the stupid O-Care plans that screwed up our doctors, treatment services, and limits our employees’ incomes.
So what were you using in conjunction with HSA? Were your employees just independently insured and you gave them a separate HSA benefit?
I looked up your SANA, they have an HSA option too. <6 different levels of plans>.
There were about 4 insurers offering it in IN when it was during the changeover from MSA —-> to HSA.
Big difference was that both employee and employer could deposit into.
It is just a “qualified high deductible health plan” that you have to have in order to open up an HSA savings account.
I went to a independent insurance brokerage website to get simultaneous insurance quotes at the same time from all who offered any insurance plans.

HSA is like having full coverage…. eyeglass … dental…. and such without the expense of such…. something that you as an employer can “cover” without having a useless payment to an insurer that is a guaranteed money maker for the insurer as it costs as much per year as what they would spend if 100% of your employees used it and maxed it out every year. (doesn’t happen)
There still seems to be a market for health insurance brokers, don’t have time to look… search in your favorite browser…

I used to listen / watch Dave Ramsey, cut the cord years ago and since opening a business in 2011, I don’t have much time to do more that come to the CTH and a few other places when I have the time.
I solo my business now, used to have employees but with a effective wage demand (and a state minimum wage of 12 bucks) now in this town is 19 bucks an hour, couldn’t sell my product with that kinda included expense.
I used to run someone else’s business in Indy for 8 years that was a 1 M+ a year company, when the owner stopped listening to me, we parted ways and it went OOB less than a year later, FPU to help understand debt is a good thing, it puts you Out O Biz …. in less that a year if you don’t understand.

Talking to him is like opening Pandora’s Box and there’s nothing ever good comes from it.
My work has me on the ropes right now – so lots of long hours trying to align and launch everything.
HOWEVER, we flip to this online learning – and really… we could relocate. Lease is up next April 2023. Not opposed to hiring movers and going… anywhere.
Need a job to keep us stable – and so off ramp planning underway. Kid loves her CFA job and we need to make sure we have pilot program access, but I think those deliverables are almost anywhere.

For most kids with cognitive difficulties, HS is simply something to get through ASAP. As you found, public HS is not a kindly place. College, on the other hand, is (or can be) very different — supportive. I had a similar problem when I was 17 and a HS senior. Climbed in my little VW and—on my own—started visiting other HS until I found one that would let me take speech class, 2nd year typing, some study halls and then graduate: VICTORY!
I hope the Potter’s school will be a similar fit for your entirely unique daughter. It is important that she graduate, of course, but once that happens there is a far brighter future waiting on that other side. 🙂

We’ll take as much as is granted. Summer triple degrees starting for us at the end of the week. We’ve been lucky it was delayed this long.
Oy Bets – I won’t brag about our beautiful weather in Central Indiana. Temps have been low and moderate – very drought like right now – but it is probably one of the most beautiful Springs and early Summers we have had in a long time.
I am DYING to go CAMPING – but work is killing me. Now kiddo working too – so we have two schedules to revolve around and they like working her the weekends – no one else wants those shifts, so they’re short handed – but she LOVES IT LOVES IT – and I alas have lost my office filing helper. She’s pursuring her chicken career!
It is moderate in the day and cool at night – so it’s simply perfect.
I am so happy she’s enjoying her work, JWoo. Our twin grandlads working in a similar situation are enjoying their jobs as well. What an education it is to work in the food service industry.
I expect Savannah’s bosses are learning how fortunate they are to have made the wise decision to hire her.
And t’is true in a bittersweet way…
The day before yesterday I was sticking three littles in a tub full of bubble bath. Yesterday I was doing the afternoon school run and making sure they did their homework.
And suddenly, today they all have different schedules which take up all their time so we see them infrequently…and are driving themselves. For everything there is a season. Their “spring” has arrived while ” I’m in the middle of my “autumn”.
Such is life…

They are revealing promotions for Team Leads today and she was super excited. I probably did the wrong thing – but I was trying to temper her – and I was saying to her to just settle in and enjoy her job – do a great job – and in time the promotions will come and to not be disappointed if they take a little while.
Woooo weeee – you would have thought I stepped on the cat’s tail!!! She leveled at me that “Southern Betsy” gaze with the raised eyebrows and she said “Do you think I’m not going to get promoted????”
Holy crap on a cracker – I thought she was going to set me on FIRE with that gaze!

Good morning Molonlabe. Another wet and cool morning here. Still need another 3/4″ of rain to catch up though. Don’t think that is going to happen but we might get some more later today. The winds are forecasted to pick up again soon. But if it is like yesterday, as it is forecasted to be, it won’t dry it out because it will remain mostly cloudy. That gives the ground time to soak up the maximum amount of precip. Wet enough that even the flowers in the hanging baskets won’t need watered for the 2nd day running.

You cannot consecrate what is not yours; there is only one thing you can consecrate to God, and that is your right to yourself (Romans xii. 1). If you will give God your right to yourself, He will make a holy experiment out of you. God’s experiments always succeed. The one mark of a saint is the moral originality which springs from abandonment to Jesus Christ. In the life of a saint there is this amazing wellspring of original life all the time; the Spirit of God is a well of water springing up, perennially fresh. The saint realizes that it is God Who engineers circumstances, consequently there is no whine, but a reckless abandon to Jesus. Never make a principle out of your experience; let God be as original with other people as He is with you.
If you abandon to Jesus, and come when He says “Come,” He will continue to say “Come” through you; you will go out into life reproducing the echo of Christ’s “Come.” That is the result in every soul who has abandoned and come to Jesus.

Revelation 14:6-13 “And I saw another angel fly in the mid heaven, having the everlasting Glad Tidings to preach to them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. “Here is the patience (endurance) of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” When there are these things happening, it will be like the melting and refining of gold and silver for the saints; that only that which cannot be burned may remain, only the purest and most precious. The world will be worshiping the beast; while the saints are preaching the Gospel of Christ, and pronouncing the doom of Babylon, and refusing to take the mark of the beast; warning the world that they are damned who do. This will be at the cost of death and burning, for all who stay true and faithful to Jesus, and keep God’s commandments.
It will be a time very soon, that will surprise the hypocrites; and many who are wrongly expecting what their false prophets and false teachers have told them for all these years; will be scandalized, and betray the saints of Jesus, in order to save their own lives. They that do wickedly against the Covenant will be the ones who put the Antichrist in power, by the power of the devil. The wise will understand, and seek to instruct many; but none of the wicked shall understand, and those who’s hearts draw back for fear of the tribulation.
These days are how God will gather in His harvest of the saints; and also the harvest of the earth unto damnation; and so doing, commence the everlasting kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the beginning of the Vision, the witnesses under the altar in heaven were asking God, How long until You avenge our blood on those who inhabit the earth? And there was given to every one of them white robes, and He answered them, Not until your brethren, who shall be killed as you were is fulfilled. This time we are entering into now is that time spoken of. With the Lord’s harvest of His holy ones, shall be the fulfilling of that word: and so, then comes the day of vengeance, which the martyrs have been waiting for, and which is even now in God’s heart.
But if we have not been able to walk with God according to His standard and His Spirit now, in relative peace; how will we do when it will mean being hated and marked for death? If we cannot stand correction and judgment from a brother or sister in the Lord, who loves us; how will we do when we are demanded to testify before the Courts and the Judges who are empowered to put us in prison and to death? If we cannot get serious about being wholly for God and filled with His Spirit, and being truly saved from sin and no longer of the world; but instead choose the easy broad way of religious decorations; when the full heat of the tribulation comes, you will quickly dry up and fall away. So we have to ask ourselves, Is it a time for kitty cats and rainbows and unicorns; or is it a time for being a real Spirit-filled Christian witness of God’s grace in the world? Wouldn’t it be a shame, to suddenly be before the Lord at that day, and have to answer why all the wasted time and idolatry? Did you not know, that the love of the world constitutes an enemy of God? And that Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins, and rescue you out of the world? What then are you waiting for?

For me there was never a landscape painter like Turner. Art is so personal, and it is his which I could stand in front of for hours.
Unfortunately, the British long ago desecrated his name by yearly awarding what they call The Turner Prize, not to artists of such talent as his (which is no longer fashionable), but to anyone who can produce “works” of bizarre and pointless inanity. Totally devoid of any beauty whatsoever. A perfect description of art mirroring life today.

Well the table is a treasure. I love small occasional ones like that…good thing you got to it before I did! Wouldn’t you love to know the provenance of it?
One of our finds is a George III chair. One of a set? We have no idea. But that someone in his era owned and sat in it fascinates me.
My mother loved antique-ing. She fell upon some real treasures some of which which I have today. But while she was known to pull over suddenly upon seeing such shops, I remember sitting in the back seat thinking, “Oh no!!!! Don’t stop!!” Could such shops be any more boring?? They certainly were to me at the age of 10.
Same with mine at that age…and now my youngest is just like me. Must be a gene…😉
This table was not expensive at all — I got it from a particular vendor at the antique market who always has the neatest stuff. He has a partner and they comb the SE for estate sales, etc.
That’s funny about dreading your mamma’s shopping stops! If only we knew what we know now!

The fact is that the predicted tornado outbreaks have not been occurring. Yes, severe weather in other forms has ramped up, but tornadic activity has in fact continued to decrease. In fact the tornado count is now below the mean and it now looks like this will be another year with a lower count than normal of tornadoes in the US. That would make it 12 years out of the last 16 that we have fewer tornadoes than normal.
“……. Perhaps fewer intercessors will be familiar with the garments of the high priest, as described in Exodus 28. The Lord led my faith family, Westchester Chapel Church of the Nazarene, to study these garments several years ago.
To dwell with His people, the Lord taught the Israelites how to worship Him. The priests — especially the high priest — mediated between the Lord and the Israelites. They were intercessors. Exodus 28 details the high priest’s garb, made by skilled craftsmen “for glory and beauty” (see Exodus 28:2, 40). The high priest needed to wear these garments to minister before the Lord in the tabernacle.
Since every Scripture verse is useful for teaching, we know that the Lord is teaching us something relevant for our lives through these verses. I learned that the priestly garments comprise a powerful prayer akin to that of the spiritual armor; I now pray those garments onto myself daily, same as the armor. In my mind’s eye, I pray them on in the order in which I would physically put them on.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I know this truth – and believe it.
However, at times it’s tiresome to keep praying without any visible answers.
This message hit me – and hope it encourages someone else.
The word “child” can be exchanged for any person.

This is true, Della!! We are all children of our Father, something which hit me four square quite a while back. After all we are bid to come to him as little children. And like you those who have need of prayers are on my ever expanding list.🙏🏻💕
This morning with our morning coffee Sherry and I listened to 60’s music and snapped fresh green beans. As I write this Sherry is singing along with the music cutting the potatoes up to put into the big pot with the green beans and ham. So today it’s one my favorite single bowl meals.
The green beans came from Main Street Market in Anderson, IN. They are only closed during the winter but during the rest of the year they have excellent fresh produce. As the crops mature here their stuff is all locally grown. It is also where Sherry gets her flowers. And also Whistle Stop rub, which has become my favorite seasoning for steaks.
Talked to my trucking buddy Randy who is still driving. He is on his way back from hauling a 44,000 lb. load of Nestle’s Boost out to Breinigsville, PA. Coming back he picked up catalyst for catalytic converters at Pottstown and plastic parts for Toyota automobiles at Breinigsville, PA.
It used to be that I could make that run only taking a single 10 hour break but now they have the trucks turned down so much to improve fuel mileage it’s impossible to do that legally so the driver has to take two 10 hour breaks.
Our family loved Pat Robertson. 🕊💕

You might recognize some names and faces here…singing about a good ol’ hometown….back in the day. I grew up in a very small town with good parents and good people all around me. Without them, I’d be nothing today.
I try to remember those things during difficult times.

The small towns were the best. Everyone more or less knew everyone else. Sort of kept a weather eye out for one another, especially the younger ones growing up and feeling their oats. No locked doors, safe, friendly, a tremendous sense of community.
I didn’t grow up in a town like that, but I did spend a lot of time in one. There was nothing like it…and the memories are very sweet.

My hubs grew up in a small town – lived there all his life. He’s shared so many stories about his growing up years and I never tire of hearing them. They’re classics.
We actually got married in his hometown, and I came to know many of his friends/neighbors of that town.
I’m glad that you had that experience as well. It really does make for a wonderful legacy.
I think that’s what is missing in much of our nation today – good communities, good people, good parents. Just like God intended.
