Just a reminder. D-day was over but the fighting was still brutal and it would be for weeks to come. In those cemeteries behind the beaches there are far more crosses and stars of David marking the places where the bodies of men lie that were killed after the landings than those that died during it.

The race to see who can get there “fustest with the mostest” is on.

The Americans will not take Carentan until the 12th.

On the 13th, a week after the landings, the Germans could still have over a 2 to 1 advantage against Monty if they had moved the forces they have within a 3 days march distance to strike his forces.

On the 19th-20th the great storm in the Channel hit, slowing resupply and reinforcement by sea to a trickle and wrecking many Landing craft and clogging the beaches with the wreckage. The American Mulberry off Omaha beach is so damaged it is decided to use parts from it to repair the British Mulberry off Arromanches. It will be a week before the full logistical might of the Allies can be brought to bear again. (In the end the LSTs were the saviors of the situation.)

In an attack on the 26th to the 30th British and Canadian forces are unsuccessful in flanking Caen. Monty’s command faces the bulk of the German armored forces. While in the American sectors the fighting in the hedgerows is primarily an infantry fight. The terrain negates the US forces superiority in mobility and to some extent the Allied air superiority.

Meanwhile on the 27th the Americans take the harbor at Cherbourg but it is so damaged and heavily mined that it will be a couple months before it can start to be put into even limited operation. It is here for the first time the Allies in France face the German propensity for booby traps and hiding large amounts of hidden explosives fused to explode days later. It would be a threat they would run up against time and again throughout the rest of the fight across Europe as it already had been in several places in Italy.

July 8th British and Candian Forces finally reach the northern part of Caen. The city will be taken but it will be more a pile of rubble than a city after the Allied heavy bombers had visited it. Monty, facing the bulk of the German elite Panzer Divisions engaged, cannot break out. All he can do is try to hold the Germans in front of him in place using repeated attacks so that those forces cannot be used to reinforce the German Divisions facing the Americans.

Already the British are starting to have manpower problems. They simply do not have the men to replace their losses at the current rate of expenditure. For this reason the British 6th Airborne Division which Jumped in on D-day is not withdrawn until early September having suffered about 4,500 casualties. The American 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions had been withdrawn from combat and returned to England to reconstitute and retrain in July.

July 18th American forces take St. Lo after days of bloody fighting. St. Lo is the key to finally getting out of the bloody hedgerow country that had favored the German defenders.

July 25th Cobra begins and leads to the breakout and Patton’s dynamic exploitation.

It’s like a sci-fi movie, but it’s real. The people working with artificial intelligence (AI) become very attached to their work. One man recently said that he didn’t want the government interfering with his creation. Unfortunately, his view of the project is already skewed.

There is only One who is capable of true creation. God’s creations were made perfect, and AI has already proven to have many flaws. 

Sin has flawed the world and its pleasures as well. The fleshly man is “filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil covetousness, malice… envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless” (Romans 1:29-31). 

However, the message of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ can change that fleshly person. Belief in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection redeems humans from the punishment for their sins. As Jesus proclaimed to Nicodemus, you must be born again. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6).

All humankind is dead in sin, but those who believe become alive in the Spirit. This results in God’s transformation of the believer into His new creation. You have new purposes, a new heart changed to love God, new thoughts, new principles, new rules, and live in new company. That is cause for joy! 

Pray for people in this nation to seek renewal and new birth in Christ Jesus, so they can be devoted to loving service to God and to their fellow man.

Am I fulfilling this ministry of the interior? There is no snare or any danger of infatuation or pride in intercession, it is a hidden ministry that brings forth fruit whereby the Father is glorified. Am I allowing my spiritual life to be frittered away, or am I bringing it all to one centre – the Atonement of my Lord? Is Jesus Christ more and more dominating every interest in my life? If the one central point, the great exerting influence in my life is the Atonement of the Lord, then every phase of my life will bear fruit for Him.
 
I must take time to realize what is the central point of power. Do I give one minute out of sixty to concentrate upon it? “If ye abide in Me” – continue to act and think and work from that centre – “ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Am I abiding? Am I taking time to abide? What is the greatest factor of power in my life? Is it work, service, sacrifice for others, or trying to work for God? The thing that ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the Atonement of the Lord. It is not the thing we spend the most time on that moulds us most; the greatest element is the thing that exerts most power. We must determine to be limited and concentrate our affinities.
 
“Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do.” The disciple who abides in Jesus IS the will of God, and his apparently free choices are God’s fore-ordained decrees. Mysterious? Logically contradictory and absurd? Yes, but a glorious truth to a saint.

Infiltration for intel gathering, influencing and baiting has steadily increased over the last few months as was previously cautioned in prior posts.

‘THEY’ are getting better and more sophisticated. And ramping up. Working in tandem sometimes.

As many Treepers and SD are aware of being monitored, there was confirmation that at least since 2015 – interesting timing – think early spying efforts against Trump outlined in previous posts.

WE are a threat and they are letting it be known by these actions.

Seems to me like the Heat Queen alarmists at the Big Box weather channels are itchin’ to report on an “early season” hurricane.. They are almost giddy about it. I was under the impression El Nino lowered hurricane development.. Why all the fuss?
