Yesterday I saw a picture of DeSantis along side our President Trump. There is just no comparison. RD looked like a wrinkled mess, his pant had lost their crease a long time ago. His boots looked like they were each worn over to the side. He is frumpy. I realize his appearance has nothing to do with his capabilities, but appearance alone would turn me off.
It is DeSantis’ lack of loyalty that is bothering you.

It depends how they set it up. First, all people living here would pay. All those people working under the table would no longer have an advantage. It doesn’t have to be on everything, I would suggest whole foodstuff should be exempt and I am sure there will be other things. In U.K. They have VAT and income tax. I suggest just a VAT. Illegal aliens would pay as would tourists. It is fairer than what we have now.

There is no reduction in the debt on the table. That is, the government refuses to cut spending to less than what it can take in via taxes.
The growth in “mandatory” programs, specifically CMS, is where the problem is as I’ve pointed out for 30 years, all the way back to long before this column was originated and when I was running MCSNet. Its a math problem when you get down to it, but that also means its a serious political problem because waving your arms around will do nothing.
What makes it worse is that all of it is illegal. 15 USC Chapter 1 makes what our medical and pharmaceutical firms do on a daily basis federal felonies carrying 10 year prison terms — for each person screwed, and each occurrence. Two decisions, Royal Drug (440 U.S. 205 (1979)) and Maricopa County (457 U.S. 332 (1982)) both found that there is no immunity from anti-trust law for medical providers, medical “insurance” companies or drug companies.
None.
These decisions have stood unchallenged since 1982. No statute has modified them. The cited claim of immunity in the first (McCarran-Ferguson) was disposed of as not applicable, so that sort of claim regarding insurance firms is void too as res judicata (already decided.)
Neither political party nor any of the States have in the 40 years since prosecuted anyone for these violations, nor sent anyone to prison — including those who got slapped for doing it in the cases that went to the court originally themselves. None have forced the end of discriminatory pricing practices. California has gone even further and claimed authority to enact same at a state level despite the Supreme Court throwing up all over what they did in the 1982 decision prior to the state’s act and nobody has gone after them either.
We cannot resolve the fiscal mess in the United States without resolving this.

Keep in mind Churchill started speaking against Hitler when he came on the scene in the 20’s and then ramping up his rhetoric from 1933 to declared war in 1939 (6 years). President Trump started speaking up about the uniparty in the 80’s and finally acted in 2015.
Britain, by every measure was on its heels, Europe was under the bloody boot heel of the Nazi’s with the last stand being Britain. The same could be said about the USA in 2023. However with the election of President Trump we had a reprieve and though he won twice the Swamp/Nazi’s pulled a coup in 2020.
Churchill rescued most of the British military “Operation Dynamo” from Dunkirk, while he still delivered his “Finest Hour” speech in June inspiring the British people to fight on to the surrender of the Japanese on 9/2/1945. The USA must find this same courage for victory from these demons.
In retrospect when the German army was rushing across the lowlands of Poland; this is where WWII might have been stopped. To extend the analogy, the swamp rats have stolen the helm from the people, but don’t have the rest of the ship aka the consent of the governed. This is where they must be stopped.

Today’s ‘clobber report’ by the Ministry of Defense leads with this (machine translation):

So while I totally get that our U.S. immigration growth denigrates the environment in the U.S., I remain unsure of how to address the counter-argument that so-called “climate change” is about the global environment, not just the U.S., so moving people around on the globe doesn’t itself increase the global population or impact the global environment overall. I also don’t feel confident making an argument that concedes a problem with greenhouse gases or perceived over-consumption in the U.S. because our standard of living is higher.

It never made sense to me either… until this ^^^ was shared. So, sharing this quote is the answer to that argument. They’re not concerned with “conserving the environment”, they’re concerned with *wealth transfer/redistribution (by theft) of countries’ wealth*.
