Color me shocked.
The same shade as I am no doubt, Bananas. I wish him well in his journey from what was surely torment to a new life in Christ.
I don’t know if you know who Leo Terrell is. He was one of the angriest black men I have ever seen, an attorney who appeared as an antagonist on many Fox shows to scream his anger at whoever was chosen to counter his views.
He was a man made ugly by his hate, and there was no one he hated more than President Trump.
Anyway, something happened to him. Something miraculous. We’ve long since cut the cord so I don’t know if he has ever said what. But now??
His anger is gone! He is a firm supporter of President Trump and all his policies. When I see photos of Mr Terrell he is always smiling with the most beatific expression on his face. It seems something miraculous occurred for him. A complete 180. So now there is a joy that radiates from him that is wonderful to see.
Our God does indeed work in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. One person at a time.

Well, Betsy, I’ve never been much of a modern movie watcher. The last 3 movies I went to see were Groundhog Day, Terminal and Star Wars so I don’t know about Bruce Almighty. I’ll take your word for it.
But I will be praying for him to stay strong in Christ.
It has been probably ten years or more since I saw a modern movie made here. I’ve seen some lovely British movies which are faves, but those were made a few years back as well.
Now? Everything has become so lecture-y, preachy, ideological, indoctrinating, unentertaining, both sides of the Atlantic.
“Bruce Almighty” was a long time ago, patty. Don’t bother. What has apparently happened to him now happened to his character in the movie.
And that is all that you really need to know.

Years ago the local college would show weekly old Barrymore thriller movies in black and white all summer long. I went every week to watch those. They were great.
One of the best Barrymore movies ever was “On Borrowed Time”. My favourite of his. Very very sweet and hopeful.

When we lived in Wales, our neighbour farmer’s daughter knocked on our door one afternoon. Walking with her were two teenage kitties.
She asked if they were ours….they weren’t. But as she was asking, these two moggies, decided they were, and marched straight in. And that was that.
We named them Bubble and Squeak, after the potato and cabbage dish known by all in Britain (it’s delicious).
I am looking at Squeak’s doppleganger in this picture; and I have a picture of him in the bath tub, looking just like this! Sans shredded toilet rolls.
The sweetest, most camera loving cat who ever owned us.

Good Monday morning, GB🤗 One of life’s great truths all right.
Yes, we had many. The news got out early and loudly that the Jones’ house was THE place to be. Loved, cossetted, fed. Whatever else happened, we knew that they were given the best lives a moggy could wish for. We loved them all, felt honoured to be chosen and miss them all very much.💕
That must be a common experience among many cat aficionados. Our house always had at least two cats and for many years while our children were growing up, we had 4 or more. Somehow word must’ve gotten around that our house was a shelter for homeless cats….. They’d just show up… and my wife would feed and clean them up if needed.
At one point we had 5 adult cats and two litters born within days of each other ( we didn’t have much money in those days so neutering was unaffordable), totaling 20 felines (all indoor / outdoor – no litter pans inside). But We found homes for both litters after the kits were 8 weeks old of course, plus a home one of the mothers.
Unbeknownst to us, an unfriendly neighbor had called the county and reported us as having twenty cats at our house. Some inspector showed up, coincidentally a couple weeks after the kittens had been given away, which is how we found out we’d been reported. With wide innocent eyes we told the inspector that the 4 cats he saw were our normal pet population and we had no idea why the neighbor had reported a false story. 😁. Thanking us for letting him inspect inside the house, he left and we never heard another peep.
Oh GB, surely St Francis is smiling. You and your wife are us. What a beautiful story. And how lucky you both were with the inspector. Fie on the neighbour.😡
We had the same sort of encounter with a neighbour here when we first moved back. Our backyard has an enclosure which houses a transformer which serves the whole neighbourhood.
And that is where the feral mommas went to have their litters. It was a job to catch them all and there was no way age wise or, as you said of yourselves, money wise we could catch and neuter…although we managed with one litter. And one litter was born under our bed from a momma who would wander in and out on occasion, who was clearly looking for a safe place to deliver. I set up the maternity ward for her and awoke one morning to those precious tiny “mews”.
But this neighbour was perpetually knocking on our door to complain. We never had an official show up thankfully, or else I’d probably be writing this from prison …
We won’t see an animal go hungry. I think they know as you so rightly say.

There is an organization here in California called “Forgotten Felines.” They may have branches in other states or countries. These people helped us with a huge colony of cats that we were feeding after a friend died. They were his pets but had populated the whole rural neighborhood in rapid fashion over the years.
Forgotten Felines trapped the kitties and brought them in to be fixed and receive medical attention from volunteer vets.
Most of the cats are then returned to the area they came from, if someone will continue to feed them. If this isn’t possible, cats are adopted out in pairs as barn cats, so they remain outdoor kitties. Anyway, Forgotten Felines is a great organization if you ever need help with feral cats.
Kittens are easier to tame but you have to catch them by around 8 weeks. His kitties were a Siamese baby doll type, much like your picture.
I’ve learned that cats in colonies are often quite chummy together.
How wonderful, lindak. There are some very kind and dedicated animal loving groups out there.
We no longer have but one feral, an intact male, the last of the many litters which we made sure were taken care of. All the moms are gone.
When one litter would appear, say an average of 6-8, I didn’t see just 6-8…I extrapolated. How many females were there? And came into view, future exponential litters.
Yes…8 weeks. The last two litters were easy, didn’t require traps. One was born in the garage so we would sit out there and let them come to know us. The mother didn’t mind at all funnily enough. When the time came we gathered them all up with ease and took them to our local adoption shelter which is very well run clean and overwhelmed with people looking for new family members. We became friends with the woman animal control officer who we dealt with on a regular basis after we’d trap a mature animal. She was very helpful.
The last litter I had to run around the yard to retrieve with a ferocious momma which my husband kept at bay, as we managed with difficulty to get each one. She was not happy.
At any rate, for some reason the barn cats we had in Wales were very sweet and loving. The ferals here in Texas not so much. I always found that interesting.

Yes! A female cat can go into heat very young at just a few months old and then is pregnant only 60 days or so before giving birth. As protective and sweet as she is with her kittens, she will abandon them to fend for themselves when her next litter is born. Quite a population explosion if left unchecked.

Linda, my niece in California adopted a pair from them. They live in her shed/workshop and are great mousers.
Now days we have a place where one can get their cats or dogs fixed for free if they can’t afford it.
And our children, but I have no idea who is paying to have our children fixed to never reproduce.
We are, I think, Jim, as taxpayers…just as we do for murdering babies. Wicked and unforgivable. In the end the bill will be paid by those whose actions I cannot fathom.
Including so called “doctors” who perform the mutilations.
That’s great Rah. I haven’t inquired lately about one in our area since we’ve been well-able to afford it for the past several decades. But that kind of veterinarian generosity didn’t exist back in the 70’s and early 80’s. What they DID eventually offer in the late 80’s was “cheap” spay and neuter surgery via S.N.A.P. (Spay Neuter All Pets) for about $25 (as opposed to $100+) as I recall.

We had a female Calico cat – our first cat after we were married – who adored green olives, the ones stuffed with red peppers. Go figure.
GB!!! Our first was a Calico! Never tried her on stuffed olives. With our without red peppers…😂😂😂
So many common experiences….
My school bus driver daughter just last week found a calico kitten on the side of a road, next to its dead mother. 😢 This was after dropping her bus load off at the school. So the bus was empty..,,
She of course scooped up the orphan and took her an immediate Vet checkup, then adopted her for the time being.
Knowing my daughter, the “time being” will be permanent…. She’s another multi-cat, multi-kid household manager…. Although she’s only has her youngest (10 yo) child still at home. She also has chickens in a big coop & pen in her backyard.
Oh no…..that breaks my heart into pieces, GB. Hard to bear imagining.
And here is more which connects us…
My husband, a man of many talents and abilities, at one point worked as a coach driver (schools) in Britain and as a manager for that company.
Our first Welsh kitty adopted him while he was painting the livery on one of the coaches. Covered in diesel, this little mite rode home on his shoulder, where he was cleaned up, feed, and added so much to our lives for the next fourteen years.
God bless your big hearted daughter, my friend. Bless that tiny kitten which I know will be loved. That old saying that the apple doesn’t fall from the tree is one of the truest ever💕!!

There is some research that essential oils help in managing different aspects of Parkinson’s. Lavender oil is the one that helps to sleep. I’m sure the way that CR suggested works great. Also, can use a diffuser with a few drops of the oil in it. I may try it myself. ❤️😍
Do!!! I used to put a few drops straight onto my pillow case. Then stick my nose in it and breathe deeply. Although I suppose I should have put some on a handkerchief and shoved in the pillow case. But it was at a time when no matter what I tried sleep was elusive. I needed some hard core dosages…and it worked!
So slop it on, my brother, breathe in, and sleep the sleep of the blessed.😘👍🏻

Mornin’ Bet. I’m fighting off a bed bug invasion. Never had ’em before but I sure have ’em now. There are effective chemicals to control the little buggers and I thought I’d gotten ahead of the curve, but they counterattacked about 4am this morning. Nasty things.
Ugh….it’s funny, Garrrison. We’ve always had ants but this year their numbers have exploded. We bought something called “Home Defense” to apply inside and out. It works! Just around base boards, drains, behind appliances and around the perimeter of the house.
And unfortunately this year we’ve had a coupoe of those gross roaches find their way in, I don’t know how. Yeeeeccch!! I’ve got a can of Raid holstered, ready for instant use. Monumental sympathies, my friend.
Elizabeth has been letting all the wildflowers seed so we have an exploding mosquito population. Somehow the little buggers get into the house. Last night after we turned the lights out I killed 3 one after another on my iPad screen but there was number 4 that never came in for a landing and kept buzzing around my ear. 🦟 Just about drove me nuts. 🤪
Oh yes!!! You can hear them coming…and settling. I end up beating myself all over hoping that one random blow will kill them.
I guess we should be goad we don’t live in Florida, where billions of bio altered mosquitos have been released. I can’t believe that could have been done with deSantis’s approval. What have these genetically altered biters been altered to do I’ve always wondered. Very worrisome.
In the UK they have some flying thingies called “midges” or affectionately (not) known as “midgies”. They are tiny and bit and sound like miniature mosquitos. Also n they gather in swarms. Seen (and felt) in the few moths of summer we actually got. Horrid.
But talk about flying thingies…
In the UK, bats are a protected species. They aren’t rabid as they can be here. There are severe penalties for disturbing their habitats…oh of which was in the attic of our garage/workshop, detached from the house.
One night I had the top half of our Dutch door open and one flew into our small morning room. The lights were on it just flew in frantic circles, its radar discombobulated.
I managed to shut the door of that room from the hall, then go through to the kitchen, pull the door top half way back so it had access out, then back to turn out the lights. It immediately and thankfully (both it and me!) flew out.
Another quick story…
One night at dusk, I stood at our front door in the enclosed front vestibule and watched the eaves of the garage as one after another flew out for their evening feed. I was gobsmacked!!! I started counting…stopped and went back inside at 280!
They were never a problem. Never were aware of their presence. Live and let live was the motto we lived by in the country. Worked for us and them😎💕

What errors? 🙂 One night a few years ago Busy Lizzie called me and showed me a bat high up on the window shade in her office. The cats had brought the poor thing in and let it go. Since they do carry rabies here I donned on welding gloves and got a bath towel and the bat was safely removed and set free.
Speaking of counting bats, there is that Old Tunnel area near Fredericksburg where there is a bat colony with gazillion of bats. It is quite a view when they live the tunnel to feed at night. It is like a river.
Counting bats…sounds like a play or a movie title.
Or a movie about Democrat women – Counting Old Bats. 🙂

The first trip we made back to Texas, Chris’s first time here, we were staying in a motel. As we were leaving the room, I noticed a small bat on the wall just outside our door. Left it of course.
But Chris, who didn’t realize bats carry rabies here, a nonexistent issue in Britain thankfully, came from the room, saw it, and promptly pulled it off the wall. Yikes!! I fear I was a bit abrupt…he let go quickly. End of lesson.

Hearing her name reminded me. My father retired from the US Army in May of 1981. He was gone most of my life training police officers in South Korea. When he returned home, my parents – both alphas and not accustomed to togetherness – got a divorce, got back together the last day the divorce would have been final – and off we went to a two week vacation in Washington D.C. My mother was hit and killed by a car two months later in September of 1982. Those two weeks were so happy. They were light and they laughed with one another. We saw our beautiful capitol, the monuments, the Smithsonian. And they were LIGHT and HAPPY… and for too brief a time, I got to love them both together. I was nine.
A happy memory and a happy find that caused me to search out that old motel named after Martha Washington. I had forgotten its name. Seeing the picture online brought back memories. Good ones. Thank you.
So many hugs, JWoo. You impress me yet again by looking up to the good instead of down to the bad. As I read, I kept thinking of Harry, the man-child, and his reaction to losing his mom at age 9. He turned it all into self destruction and fury toward others. You, on the other hand, are a role model of what a person raised by good people can become and what they can handle in their lives. May that positive attitude protect you and inspire others how to get thru life that always throws curve balls when you’re expecting a perfect pitch. So very honored to know a person like you. Mary, you are very kind. My outlook isn’t always so bright and cheery. Sometimes, it’s just downright realist. The brass tacks of it all are thus… we are ALL going to go through very hard times… some just get our share a bit earlier than others. If all works out well, then it makes us more compassionate and empathetic to those going through their tribulations. Been there. Got roughed up. Survived it. And, yes, strive forward to the mountaintops ahead. When in the valley, you can choose to stay there, or head upwards.

FNC still gets the same per/subscriber $ from cable/directv as they did before (just like CNN), until viewer numbers catch up to the equation in which ad revenue pricing is determined, they are just saving money to make up for the payment.
Either Dominion “requested” the investigative unit removal or FNC is just eliminating it because there is truly no longer any useful purpose for an “investigative” unit when they can just spew the party narrative regardless of any fact finding.
Wish I could live in fantasy land too, but I have bills to pay that are tougher to acquire enough revenue for due to ™Bidenflation.
As for Budweiser, it will be tough on the distributors as I believe those are mostly independent companies, less volume = less employees(office) & drivers/delivery personell (mostly sales commission I believe) only the old timers with the big volume customers will survive, low volume drivers will either endure for better times or find other options for employ.
InBev mostly won’t really care, I believe the breweries are union so it wont affect them (employees)either, they will either brew something else they can export that does sell somewhere or idle a line or 2 & layoff employees that will still collect rather large layoff checks. (I remember RCA line layoffs in Bloomington IN (~1978), made almost as much on layoff as working.)(union contract dependent)
It’s already been leaked that firing Tucker WAS part of FNC’s settlement with Dominion, contrary to early reporting after Tucker was abruptly removed.

Although you,me, or others may not be in agreement with the interpretation or meaning of some or part of another truth seekers conclusions, we should not fall into a defensive and condemnation posture automatically. The knowledge and depth of scripture is so vast and deep that I doubt any of us can claim perfect understanding. Of course, if the person or writing is clearly “designed” to harm or draw away from the holiness of Gods word, we are to be vigilant. However, a person whose faith is solid will not and should not be “shaken” when confronted with differences. I firmly believe that each of us has their own unique connection with the Maker relevant to that persons understanding and level of spiritual development. I.E a person will only truly find God, when in his/her heart/soul they feel the connection with comfort and understanding. Absolutely we need to, have to, base our foundation on solid reliable “instruction” and technique as taught to us by those wise and righteous who have come before and here present, usually in the form of consensus agreement to interpretation and meaning of organized doctrine. However, “organized” interpretation/meaning in the form of dogma and “enforcement” carries with it an inherent danger – the removal of the individual “search” (often by trial) to come closer to the true essence of God and our purpose in creation. There is some portion of Godly light in all honest and sincere conversation around the Creator.

Mary I think we had it much easier in the “old days” when movies on television were not nearly as numerous as they are today.
Van Johnson movies were almost always upbeat and often quite musical. He acted in a number of WWII movies as well. I think I’ve seen them all at one time or another….
As a consumer of the movies from “back in the day”…I got to see many of his efforts .. I would say many of actors and actresses of that time were taught to be versatile and learn other forms ..dance,singing , language etc..Van did great job in movie about Doolittle raid ..30 seconds over Tokyo..👍

How many times did the Lord warn His disciples, that with the same measure that you estimate, you shall be measured; and unless you forgive, you shall not be forgiven! And likewise, in Revelation chapters 2-3, five of the seven churches He had to say to them, “I have a few things against you.” Now if the Scripture says plainly, that the righteous scarcely be saved; and whoever covers his sins shall not prosper, but he that confesses and forsakes them shall find mercy; how say so many, that once someone accepts Jesus, he is automatically forgiven everything past present and future? Where did this idea come from? And how do so many not recognize it as false teaching?
A prophetess of the Lord said, “There is to be in the churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of God; but it will not move upon those, who have not humbled themselves before the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance.” Now if you haven’t been impressed in these times, to make absolutely certain, that you have no un-repented of, and therefore unforgiven sin, recorded against your name in the Books in heaven; if you have not been impressed to do that, you’re in trouble! And you need to pray, and ask God to help you with that. There is no place in the Bible, that allows for sin to be continued, if the Atonement and Forgiveness is to be enacted. Those things will be the reason for Jesus NOT knowing many, who will be expecting to be saved, but did not what Jesus said.
We must not have any unforgiven sin when we depart out of this world to go into eternity. And we are to make right all the wrongs we have committed against people, before God will have any interest in our offering worship. When we draw near to God with our lips, it must be the true out-workings of His grace wrought in our hearts; which is evidenced by our love for one another, in deed and in truth.
There is an ideology at work in the world today, that many, many would-be followers of Jesus have been seduced by, and have embraced as their own: and that is the attitude of extreme love of self, that cannot be criticized or accused or in any way corrected. But if we be without correction, then the Bible says we are bastards, and not legitimate children. This ideology that makes it a crime to judge the other, and correct his faults, and turn him from sin; is that which will not allow men to repent, no matter how terrible and evil the times, and the fiercest plagues of God’s wrath. This “Stands with fists” spirit, is completely against the Holy Spirit and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. And we know, that if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him!
In the Sermon On The Mount, the Lord Jesus was expounding a few of the simplest points of the Law; to show us how deeply they reach into our thoughts and intents of heart; because that is where the kingdom of God comes. Being angry with a brother lightly, as a course of habit, for no purpose, is murder from the heart, in God’s view; just like lechery is the same as if one has already committed fornication. If our eye cause us to sin, Jesus says we’d be better off to pluck it out, than to go to the fire of Gehenna because we looked and sinned. If we know that our brother has something against us, we must do whatever we can to make it right with him; or it will cost us our salvation. These are Jesus’ words!
The man that thought he could come to the Wedding Feast without the Garments of the Wedding Feast, was speechless when the King questioned him about it, and was thrown out without pity. The foolish virgins who had been called to the Marriage, had been given lamps, and anticipated the same as their wise sisters; really had no one to blame but themselves for not doing the basics to be ready for the Call at Midnight, The Bridegroom Comes! You have been entrusted with God’s holy things, and will give account regarding what you did with those things. He will not do the things He has commanded you to do. Does that sound like “Once saved always saved?” Or does it rather say plainly; “Once having saved, He afterwards destroyed them for unbelief?”
When the apostles asked the Lord to give them more faith; He told them that it has to do with their high thinking about themselves; otherwise, If you had faith as a grain of mustard, you might say to this sycamine tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you. The measure of our faith is directly attributable to our right understanding and fear of God, and knowing what we really are, in and of ourselves, useless!
Luke 17:10 “So likewise you, when you shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”
Obedience from the heart is not extraordinary, as if we should be thanked or praised for it; we are bound by the blood covenant of Christ to do all that He has commanded us. He owns us, and not we ourselves! Afterwards, we will eat and drink; but not before we have done all that we are bound to do, and is our duty. And the One Commandment which Jesus explicitly mentioned, is that we love one another, “even as I have loved you.” Which means we need to study and learn from Jesus, how exactly and entirely He has loved us; and do likewise.
this is so relevant in these days. WE all try to hold ourselves as blameless in any dispute. Rather than being meek and forgiving, we hold our “position” on matters of dispute and require others do the forgiving and admission of guilt. The best attitude is that of Jesus Himself, namely, humble ourselves and wash the feet of our brethren, even though we are right.
I once heard it said, and it is so true, that all that the Lord commands us is very simple to understand, but difficult to do because of our pride. (paraphrased) In the matters of receiving blame and correction, we are not naturally like lambs, but tigers; and the “Dove” came down and rested on “The Lamb.” When we can keep our temper under control, and listen carefully and respectfully to the other’s complaint; and be honest; it is possible to take the correction and not die! (love of self fears death) This has been quite a revelation to me; and my desire is to nurture and cultivate this, by trying to keep in mind the pertinent Scriptures, along with remembering how happy and blessed I feel, when I do right, and not react like a tyrant. 🙂

Yes, exactly the point! In the Greek, “without a cause” should be translated better, “as a course of habit without purpose; (not of passion, but of habit!).
Also, if we think in terms, not of progression or degrees; as if we go from Judgment, to the Council, to finally the Gehenna of fire; but more as One Judgment against the evil; for it all comes of the same wicked spirit of murder, against the image and likeness of God! Angry as a course of habit for no reason, calling a man, “your brother,” worthless and a fool; doesn’t come from a right understanding of one’s own ruined nature and interminable list of sins; not does it come our of real fear of God; but arrogance and a heathen antichrist mind.

With the exception of the KJV & the NKJV, Matthew 5:22 “without a cause” has been removed as far as I know. Man, the human, has removed these 3 words which changes the whole meaning of verse 22.
I believe that, say your brother, has wronged you and you confront him and he will not admit it or show remorse for his actions, that is where “a cause” comes into play. You do your best to seek a remedy but it can’t be a one way. Just like Jesus told his disciples before sending them out to preach and educate, if the people don’t accept you, shake the dust from your sandals and move on.

Yes, I agree. Jesus gave us instructions what course of action to take when we have controversies between ourselves. First we talk one on one. If our brother hears us, then we have gained our brother. If he doesn’t hear, then take one or two others, who can hear the matter unbiased, and say what they judge. If he still won’t hear, bring i the matter before the whole assembly; and if he continues obstinate, and neglects to hear the church; let him be to you as a heathen.
He that has ears to hear, let him hear! Its hard to know for sure when we are to shake the dust off our feet and move on. Being conscious of one’s own shortcomings gives plenty of reason to give the others the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand, the Lord has given us His Holy Spirit into our hearts, and He has given us understanding and discernment, so we can judge righteous judgment; and He did say, that when we come into a city or town, to inquire diligently, examine strictly, who in it is worthy; and there stay till we depart. We are entrusted with the holy things of the Son of God, in a world unfit for the Presence of God: we have to use discernment; whether it be to severity and sharpness and fear, to snatch out of the fire; or by gentleness and compassion; judging what is the need for a difference.

Hearing and doing are two different things. “Then shall we know, WHEN WE FOLLOW ON TO KNOW THE LORD.” Willfully staying in darkness, and holding onto bitterness and hurts by others (real or perceived), or simply having a Satanic resentment against the Supreme Authority and Divinity of God, because he is God and you are not; will come to no good end. Cain was rejected because he gave a false account of himself to God, that EXCLUDED Christ, as to himself. His anger and resentment and wicked thoughts, were his own fault, for himself knowing what was right but refusing to do it. So he murdered his brother because his brother really was good and righteous, and Cain couldn’t stand it to see or even be around someone who really was good and feared God; so he killed him, thinking that would remove his bad conscience towards God.

Elizabeth and I visited Versailles on our 20 anniversary. It was a great long weekend in Paris. How things have changed in just a few years.

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession. – 2 Corinthians 2:14
Commentators agree that, in today’s verse, Paul refers to the procession when a conquering king would lead the defeated people along with the spoils of war. However, there are two takes on exactly what Paul means. There are truths to be drawn from both of them.
The first analysis infers that Paul was talking about himself and other believers as the slaves Christ conquered. But instead of the dejection on their faces that the conquered people undoubtedly wore, those who yield to Christ’s lordship rejoice. The second interpretation is that Paul is talking about being a victor in Christ, leading people away from lives of sin and death to yield to the Lordship of Christ.
With either interpretation, Christ is the exalted King and believers receive new lives in Him. In the second half of today’s verse, Paul alludes to the Roman processions where they burned incense to honor the gods and scattered flowers to honor the king: “…and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere”m (v 14b).
Great peace is one of the spoils of war between our Savior and Satan. In Christ, even during problems, a believer can have peace knowing the comfort of the Holy Spirit on Earth and the promise of eternal life in Heaven. Give thanks to God, as Paul did, for leading you in triumph.
Intercede for the citizens and elected officials of the United States to yield to the conquering King, so that they may also walk in the newness of life and have the hope of Heaven.

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.” John xvii. 21
If you are going through a solitary way, read John xvii., it will explain exactly why you are where you are – Jesus has prayed that you may be one with the Father as He is. Are you helping God to answer that prayer, or have you some other end for your life? Since you became a disciple you cannot be as independent as you used to be.
The purpose of God is not to answer our prayers, but by our prayers we come to discern the mind of God, and this is revealed in John xvii. There is one prayer God must answer, and that is the prayer of Jesus – “that they may be one, even as We are One.” Are we as close to Jesus Christ as that?
God is not concerned about our plans; He does not say – Do you want to go through this bereavement; this upset? He allows these things for His own purpose. The things we are going through are either making us sweeter, better, nobler men and women; or they are making us more captious and fault-finding, more insistent upon our own way. The things that happen either make us fiends, or they make us saints; it depend entirely upon the relationship we are in to God. If we say – “thy will be done,” we get the consolation of John xvii., the consolation of knowing that our Father is working according to His own wisdom. When we understand what God is after we will not get mean and cynical. Jesus has prayed nothing less for us than absolute oneness with Himself as He was one with the Father. Some of us are far off it, and yet God will not leave us alone until we ARE one with Him, because Jesus has prayed that we may be.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Gorgeous morning here at my place in Indiana. Today Sherry gets her flowers. Tomorrow is her birthday. She turns 68. She doesn’t look it! In fact neither of us look our age. But once again she’ll be “the old lady” until I catch up with her in August.
My tasks today will be to buy her a new set of gardening tools in a case where she can keep them organized, blow up a tire that is down on the garden cart, and to get the oil changed in the FJ. So far we have a “July 4th” tomato plant, a cherry tomato plant, two cucumber plants, two green bell pepper plants, One yellow squash, and seeds for green leaf lettuce in the ground. Will be planting green union starts and who knows what else before long.
Tomorrow is mowing day again. And I will probably help Steve with the small log cabin he is building in the back field.
Some time before Memorial day I will fix my 30′ flag pole so I can fly flags again. The plastic pully on the truck busted and the bearings that allow the truck to swivel are locked up. So I am replacing the whole truck with a version made for the pole that has a brass pully and will load the swivel bearings up with graphite lubricant before installing it. I will also replace the rope. I fly two flags. The colors on top and the Gadsden “Don’t Tread On Me” flag below. During patriotic holidays I fly Colors that are 8′ x 12′ and the rest of the time a 3’x5′. The high quality 8’x 12′ made to fly in a lighter breeze costs $140.00.
When we get the bucket truck to do the flag pole we will also be cutting down three Black Locust trees along Steves properly line and the 80′ high blue spruce in my yard that died a couple years ago. I have no idea what killed that beautiful spruce tree. It died from the bottom up. Two years ago was when the top did not green or bear cones. Now the bark is coming off in chunks. So that wood has cured standing. Steve will take the appropriate portion of that blue spruce to Chuck, who has a saw mill and is cutting the other timber for Steve’s cabin.

My poll is great. Will fly a 8’x12’ in 80 mph wind. Put it and the lighting in myself. But the truck gave out.
