Hi Joe. We haven’t felt any earthquakes lately although occasionally there are reports of small quakes in our general region. In my experience, many small quakes are only felt close to where they occur so the fact we don’t notice them , doesn’t mean they aren’t happening on a regular basis.
You probably know that the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 however, was huge. There was damage 60 miles away in Santa Rosa , Ca and the quake was felt up to 300 miles away. So! that is an interesting site you’ve posted.

Romans 4:4-8 “Now to him that works the reward is not reckoned according to grace, but according to debt; but to him that works not, but believes on Him that justifies (renders just) the ungodly, his faith is reckoned unto righteousness: exactly as David declares the blessedness of the man to whom God reckons righteousness apart from works, “Blessed they of whom the lawlessnesses are forgiven, and of whom the sins are covered; blessed [the] man to whom the LORD will in no wise reckon sin.” (Psalm 32:1-2)
The law was given following their deliverance from Egypt; in the same way as the precepts of Christ are given for us to keep, after our having been saved from our sins, and are now Born Again, Born From Above; taken from out of the world, and brought into the kingdom of heaven. From henceforth our reward for our good works, and Christ-like character, are reckoned as our hire; which shall be paid at the end of the day; but only after having been saved by grace, God imputing righteousness to us, when we were yet ungodly and unfit for His Presence. We are saved by grace through faith, which we have being still ungodly and unclean; reckoned, regarded and shown as righteous, because we believe God, and acknowledge the truth, as He witnesses to us.
From here is the true saying of God, ” . . Who quickens (makes alive) the dead, and calls things not being, as being: Who[as motion] towards hope, upon hope was persuaded, unto him becoming father of many nations . . .” God takes sinners at their word on good faith; and so in His goodness rewards those yet ungodly, who in a good and honest heart acknowledge the truth, confess their sins, and repent, that God may be justified.
Psalm 51:1-4 “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. As in Abraham, so is it also in all of Abraham’s children according to the promise. By faith we are called to come out from among the country of our nativity, and our father’s house, to go into a place that God will show us after. We obey by faith, and go out, not knowing where we are going; and sojourning as foreigners in a country presently belonging to someone else. We dwell in tents, as those possessing nothing in this place; for while we are “at home” in this world, we are “away from home” with the LORD. We look for a City, whose builder and maker is God, in another Country, wherein dwells righteousness. We are in the world, but no longer of the world; because of the grace that has been brought in through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We come to Jesus ungodly and unclean, and unfit for the Presence of God; and by faith God reckons us righteous for believing in Jesus. A miraculous change happens, and we are made partakers of divine nature; as we now have the answer of a clean conscience through the blood of Christ. And now, having been set free from sin, and made New Creations in Christ; the law of God is written in our hearts and minds, and His Spirit dwells in us as One called in to help, and so our lives from this point on, establishes the law. The gift of grace is free for the righteousness of faith: the reward for good works is according to debt. This is not an absolute negation of rewards for good works; but for us to distinguish between the two: saved by grace through faith; and, not being hearers only, but doers of the word, once we are saved.
When someone argues against keeping the commandments as the means of being saved; it shows their ignorance on the work of grace, and of the complete purpose of God in saving us from our sins and giving us now His Spirit; which is to DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, freed from an evil conscience, and, freed from the power of sin.
Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.”
There is a misconception that saved are like the dead, or the dead are like the saved. That in this world they are equals, they are not.
The unsaved have not been blessed with life they cannot see or understand what a living being sees.
And, it is an indication that a person does not know Christ who would believe that.
When a person receives rebirth he understands the deeper meanings of salvation because he is now occupied by
Gods spirit. An unsaved person believes that the ‘act’ of receiving the spirit is confession alone. It is not!

Something has to happen in the inward parts, where man is either of the truth or not; where God judges one unto mercy, and another is turned away empty. Can’t believe the Army is still using the large ALICE rucksacks.
I have never been fond of the RA-1 chute. Never jumped it. Came out after I got out! But that huge monstrosity cuts down on the area on the body where equipment can be hung and worse yet has a slower descent rate! A slower descent rate means longer time in the air where the trooper is most vulnerable. It also means more potential for drift so the trooper can be blown off the DZ into the trees.
We jumped the MC1-1B. A steerable version of the T-10. The regular Airborne units, like the 82nd, were jumping the T-10 when I was in.
But no matter what, when a paratrooper loads up for war, they’re going to overloaded. It is the nature of the beast and the way it has always been.
Rah, I had such hope for nanomaterials that would be lighter and still strong, to lighten the loads for our military.
There is so much that could be done, but isn’t, because our government has become so corrupt and does not have the same goals as We the People.
Stuff for the military general issue has to be made as idiot proof and indestructible as possible. We in SF has a separate issue of certain equipment not issued to the regular Army.
When I was on a team in Co. A, 3rd Bn., 1oth SFG(A) we tested the Extreme cold weather packages that the Army still uses today. Over three years of winter warfare exercises we helped Natick Lab develop it.
We would use it in the field and then report problems and make recommendations for improvement, and then the next year would be issued the new improved versions to try out.
So we had the Gortex an new stuff before anyone else did.
We did the same for rucksack design just for Special Operations. The ALICE large was simply not big enough and too heavy. The one we came up with had an internal frame and padded waist belt and had a STABO harness built right into it. The user could quickly drop the ruck off leaving a small pouch which was the bug out kit.
I was not just a jumper but a Jump Master. Or IOW the guy that inspects the jumpers to ensure they’re properly rigged and who spots and puts them out the door or off the ramp. The Jump Master is legally responsible for the jumpers from the JMPI (Jump Master Primary Inspection) until they are accounted for in the DZ.
People sometimes ask me why anyone would jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I never had a fear about doing it. Even at night with 35 lb. of parachute and another 90 lb. of rucksack and weapon, ammo, and other stuff on you. We jumped skis once. My whole team with through rough terrain parachute training wearing the same padded suit and helmet that smoke jumpers use. That suit has connections on the trousers and a big pocket at the calf in which carabiners and tubular nylon ribbon is used so the jumper can rig to lower themselves down from a tree or other high obstacle that they may get hung from.
Since the team I was on specialized in high alpine operations and the jumper descends at a higher speed in the thinner air at altitude and may be landing in rocks or other stuff those suits were nearly a requirement for jumping in those conditions.
I’ve landed in an Italian pig farm that was 20 kilometers from the intended DZ at night. In a German Vineyard between the metal drive in posts at night. And several times in trees. Stuff happens and you deal with it. Not once was I really scared. Just concerned!
My first landing in trees was for the infiltration jump during the final phase of the Special Forces Qualification course. None of us on my team landed on the DZ. It was of course night. Though in peacetime jumpers are not supposed to be dropped from less than 800 ft. AGL (Above Ground Level) I know that they put us out at about 600 ft. I’m sure they were doing so because the winds were about 20 knots and they were trying to keep us on the DZ.
A jumper counts when they jump 1-1,000, 2-1,000, 3-1,000, if the you don’t feel opening shock at 3-1,000 you gotta problem. My chute opened at 3-1,000 but I continued my count right down to the ground. It took 13 seconds from the time I exited the door until my toes touched the ground. And that is why I know they put us out at about 600 ft.
I came right down the side of a pine tree my rucksack ripping the limbs off or pushing them aside and I came down right beside the trunk. The small hole at the top of the chute had the top of the tree sticking out of it. I stopped with my toes just touching the ground. Every single on of us landed in the trees.
NOW we know what happens to those pine trees in the forest with one side of limbs shaved off. Always thought it was bears rubbing their backs. Nope – SF teams on missions. LOL I’ll never look at the forest the same, Rah.
I think I may look at pine trees differently from now on .

When I was still a teenager I saw Slayer with Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice in Chains as the opener.
I remember all of it except Slayer, who played last. All I can recall of them is that they were so powerful, the energy changed and people started fighting, satanic symbols were brought out and held up while we are hearing “Satan’s coming. Satan’s coming.”
Oh man. Just watching that video it’s obvious the power they brought live. Metallica were the only other band who could bring that, with a totally different feel.

I will never see Axl again, good show once he actually took the stage…. twice……but he took a 1+ hour coke break @ 2 in the morning after taking a coke break of 2 hours After Metallica left the stage.
Did not get home til after 4am, had to work @ 8, took nephew to that show for his birthday, he was basically still asleep when I got home.

Our reach must exceed our grasp. “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect.” If we have only what we have experienced, we have nothing; if we have the inspiration of the vision of God, we have more than we can experience. A woman in a small Midwest town was angry with close family members for decades. She refused to forgive and would not acknowledge they had done her good. She became a bitter old lady who refused to be thankful for anything. Sadly, her ingratitude caused her to believe there was nothing good in her life. She could not have been more wrong!
There is always something good for which to be thankful!
It would be wise to read the verse for today in conjunction with verse six: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” When things burden your spirit, you can ease your mind with prayer, seeking God’s direction and support.
Gratitude for what God has provided or done in your life will win the battle over anger or anxiety.
Prayer is an offering to God – give Him your burdens, as well as your desires. The result: “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding!” (Philippians 4:7). It is only through the blessings of Christ’s death and resurrection that you are able to fathom at least a small measure of the peace He gives to your heart and mind when you trust deeply and sincerely in His goodness and love for you.
Don’t let the trials of the day, a broken relationship, or difficulty at your job or school take your mind from the peace that God so willingly will give you as you take it all to Him in prayer. Include the leaders of this country in prayer, that they may have His peace as they battle the evils of the day.

Good morning all.
How come the older one gets the more hairs they have growing in places where they don’t want them?
I guess I really shouldn’t complain since I still have a full head of hair except for a small area that is a bit thin at the crown. I trim my mustache twice weekly.
But man, these days I have to trim ear and nose hair weekly and my eyebrows every other week.
That powerful low that passed north of my Indiana home and dumped snow up in the great lake states has finally cleared my Indiana home. It gave us plenty of rain. Mostly of the slow soaker variety but we had some initial powerful wind gusts. We actually go more rain on the back side of the low than we did from the front side.

Quite seriously – our Maine Coon Harold, Harry Houdini, HERAAAAALD…. acted like a banshee last night and high tailed it through our home like a maniac. I have had one hour of sleep in the last 48. It’s not pretty – but maybe a little funny.

I take Rah’s service to our country quite seriously… I promise, I do… but Lord have mercy… I just gotta laugh when he says he wasn’t worried… just concerned. Like how am I going to dislodge myself from being this pine tree’s Christmas ornament?
That’s it! Going to have to put a GI Joe on the top of my tree in homage to Rob! (Next to our redheaded angel, of course!)
Only concerned a few times when descending. Sometimes things happen and there isn’t a damned thing you can do about it but do what you were trained to do. Your fate is in the Lords hands.
If I was terrified I wouldn’t have continued to do it. I’m not that brave. But somehow I just knew that I would be alright. And it was every single time. The worst injury I suffered was when I landed on the end of the main runway at Wright-Patterson AFB. I slammed down hard because we were jumping in too high of winds. But when your in the reserves, as I was at the time, and want to continue to remain qualified and jumps get hard to get. they aren’t going to cancel.
I hit hard enough that the skin over my right elbow joint capsule avulsed. It wasn’t a cut. The sleeve of my blouse wasn’t even torn. It was the impact with the asphalt. I was a hurting unit for a couple of days. But feel no ill effects from it in my old age.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
