 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Therefore as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; so death passed to all men, because all sinned. For until the law, sin was in the world; but sin is not charged when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren’t like Adam’s disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come. But the free gift isn’t like the trespass.

For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. The gift is not as through one who sinned; for the judgment came by one to condemnation, but the free gift came of many trespasses to justification. For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ. 

So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life. For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous. The law came in that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly; that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

‎4/‎21/‎2023 – Men ought always to pray and not faint

Luke 18:1-8 “And He spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says: and shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?”

There are so many Scriptures about mighty answers to prayer, where God did openly in the sight of all. But the Lord here is directing our thoughts to another aspect of prayer, that has to suffer long, and bear up under difficulties, with no apparent deliverance coming; that it is important not to give up, even if it takes a long time. 

Now the example the Lord gives of an unrighteous judge, who fears not God, nor regards man, is by purpose used to illustrate this condition. For as we draw nearer the end, and the bands of restraint are all being broken from before the transgressors; there will be conditions that will demand strong perseverance and ability to endure wrongs, while the heavens are silent.

In Psalm 44 is a very good instruction on this line. The first eight verses are a resounding praise, and calling to remembrance, of the great works of the LORD in old time; and then the Spirit abruptly cuts short, by saying, “But Thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies. Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves… (etc.)” indicating a time like we have now; where the “unjust judge” who fears not God, nor regards man, is the one with the authority in the land. I would recommend reading carefully the whole Psalm 44, and thinking about why the Holy Spirit would make that something so important for us to know about. 

There are many Scriptures to support what this represents; which speak of a time when every outward evidence of comfort from God, and any hope of righteousness, are taken away, and “Here is the patience and faith of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” In the Book of Habakkuk the prophet, is also this time foretold. From the very opening sentence, the Holy Spirit is saying, “O Lord, how long shall I cry, and Thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto Thee of violence, and Thou wilt not save! Why dost thou show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.” (Habakkuk 1:1-4)

Considering how much time the Lord spent on preparing His disciples for what their lives would be like, when He would not be there to help them; and what kind of days were necessary to come, to bring about the end; we have to know that it is because He loves us, and because we are His friends, that He tells us everything, the good and the bad. 

John 16:20 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, That you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.” 

Luke 17:25 “But first must He suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.” But as with Jesus, our Master, so must it be with us His servants; that however things appear that darkness covers the earth, and all forsake us and leave us alone; yet the Father is with us; and He is bearing long WITH US! And as Jesus submitted in obedience, so do we; knowing that our righteousness is with God; and Jesus has said, that He will raise us up on the last day.

So in closing it is most important to note, that which the Lord said; Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth? He has promised, that when we pass through the waters, He will be with us; and through the fire, the flame shall not kindle upon us. And the fire shall try EVERY MAN’S WORK, of what sort it is; so that the things that cannot be burned may abide. 

Whatever the slander and temptation and cunning deceit the enemy will employ in his war upon us; no matter what it looks like or feels, or if no one wants to know or understand; the Lord is bearing all that we bear, inside us, and is interceding for us that our faith not fail. He is not like the unjust judge; and He will come and save us. We have the opportunity to be those precious souls, who will be standing on the sea of glass, with harps of God; who got the victory over the beast, and all this evil time. Hold fast that which you have; and let no man steal your crown.

THE LIGHT THAT FAILS

A servant of God must stand so much alone that he never knows he is alone. In the first phases of Christian life disheartenments come, people who used to be lights flicker out, and those who used to stand with us pass away. We have to get so used to it that we never know we are standing alone. “All men forsook me…notwithstanding the Lord stood with me” (2 Tim. iv. 16-17). We must build our faith, not on the fading light, but on the light that never fails. When “big” men go we are sad, until we see that they are meant to go, the one thing that remains is looking in the face of God for ourselves.
 
Allow nothing to keep you from looking God sternly in the face about yourself and about your doctrine, and every time you preach see that you look God in the face about things first, then the glory will remain all through. A Christian worker is one who perpetually looks in the face of God and then goes forth to talk to people. The characteristic of the ministry of Christ is that of unconscious glory that abides. “Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.”
 
We are never called on to parade our doubts or to express the hidden ecstasies of our life with God. The secret of the worker’s life is that he keep in tune with God all the time.

MORNING

Acts 20:24 ESV

• So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.   – Galatians 6:10

• Business owners may think of opportunity as open doors for making money. Teachers may view opportunity as the chance to teach young people to grow up and do good in the world. Ministers may see opportunity as leading people to embrace Christ as the way of salvation. Each individual sees opportunity differently. Opportunity has to do with a person’s goals, talents, and resources and the needs of those around them.   

• The opportunity to do good, as Paul speaks of in today’s verse, will look different for each person. Consider the gifts, talents, and resources the Lord has given you and how they might match up with the needs of those around you, especially your brothers and sisters in Christ. Also, be open to your brothers and sisters who are reaching out to you in some way. Giving and receiving is a two-way street. The Bible says, “It is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35). There are times when graciously receiving is a necessity. Otherwise, if everyone were only givers, who would be the recipients?

• People are both givers and receivers. There will be times when you are in need of help and other times when you can offer it. Members of the family of God are meant to provide loving assistance to others as they are able.
• Pray that God’s people will learn to both give and receive graciously.
• Pray for those in the U.S. government to adopt godly principles when it comes to the economy.
• Ask that the Lord’s will be done in the area of giving and receiving, first in the church and then throughout the nation.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
