A 25-year-old bank employee named Connor Sturgeon opened fire at his workplace in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday while livestreaming the attack that left five members of the bank leadership dead and nine others injured. {Direct Rumble Link} The shooting took place at Old National Bank, Sturgeon was killed by police after a shootout, according to interim Louisville Metro Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel.
Soon after the murders the shooters profile on social media began surfacing. Connor Sturgeon profiled as an unstable wokester identifying with he/him pronouns. Sturgeon learned he was about to be fired from the bank, according to CNN, who said he also left a note for his parents and a friend explaining his intention to go and shoot up the bank.
Police are trying to determine what triggered his attack. Obviously, the shooter was unstable, and reports of his psychological condition identify him as prone to depression. CNN REPORTS:

Definitely a mental health problem in this country. When I was young, there was very rarely, if ever, shootings like this. Whether at schools or workplace. And there were just as many guns back then. I was in Brazil twice over the last two years and I was amazed (horrified, actually) at kids as young as 5 years old using cellphone all the time, even at the table while eating, to play games, watch YouTube, etc .. I played football in HS …in the early 70’s … and was coached by a 6’-6” ex NFL defensive end badass who preached one thing relentlessly … stick your nose in the numbers … tackle VIOLENTLY … stick your nose in his ear hole … hit … hit … hit. And to the extent possible, I always did. Somehow … I managed to avoid a concussion … ever … and I played both ways at center and nose guard.
We wore very basic helmets … with canvas strap head suspension. Really basic. One rich kid on our team had a brand new Riddell padded adjustable air cushion helmet that his parents bought. But that was it. That kid was really smart … like a 4.4 GPA genius offensive tackle. I believe he went to Harvard or Stanford … can’t remember which. I guess his brain was worth protecting … Ha! If I only had a fancy air-suspension helmet … I wouldn’t have had to attend UC Berkeley … a … ewwww… public Univ.
Helmets do not protect from concussion. They protect your skull. Your brain is still free to slosh around upon impact. There’s a small cushioning, but it can’t hold your brain from slamming into your skull.
There’s not a helmet in use that protects a horse rider from a concussion when they fall. You just don’t get a fractured skull, which is a good thing.
Just like the family unit, tackling fundamentals have deteriorated as well. I think football is a fairly safe sport, until you start doing all sorts of movements that leave parts of your body unstable.

It just seems to me that when I was in high school in the 60s, there were good choices for kids that didn’t fit in.
Churches had youth programs; schools had shop classes, clubs, marching band, extra curricular activities.
Some kids liked joining scouts.

In my high school in the 60’s ,we had a James Dean wanna-be with a grudge against a coach. Finally the coach had enough. Challenged him to boxing match after school. Coach had been some kind of boxing champion in the Navy. Of course half of the school showed up to watch. Poor Kid never put a glove on him. He left with a bloody ,crooked nose and 2 black eyes. Thing were different then. Wish I could go back to those days….

If I have to make a guess, I would say he as a junior account manager (a recent masters degree in finance), he was probably unhappy about not getting the commission he probably felt he was owed. You never, ever know what goes on behind closed doors in a family. This mass slaughter is a rage that has been building since this guy was little. Have to start looking for explanations without excusing. Suicide and homicide are 2 sides of same coin. That’s why many mass shooters kill themselves after.
I love the book by M Scott Peck People of the Lie. The lack of empathy for others lives and the rage needed to murder in cold blood has its roots very, very deep in the family.

It does sound promising – and it sounds like what some Medical Doctors and their organizations are doing to escape the current toxic, often deadly, medical system dominated by large hospital corporations, medical boards and government agencies, big pharmaceutical companies and politicians with leftist agendas. The recent pandemic showed us who’s who and what’s what about all this.

It must stop now.
Psychotherapy has already been compromised by intrusions from gender feminist therapy and so-called queer affirmative therapy under the rubric of intersectionality. Critical Race Theory is just the latest ideological intrusion from pop sociology to contaminate our profession.
The real victims of systematic oppression are white, working-class men, yet they are often neglected or mistreated in psychotherapy because they are not perceived as proper victims. This clinical blind-spot in the consulting room is one of the reasons masculine heterosexual men with traditional values have historically avoided psychotherapy. Can you blame them?”

You’re welcome! I thought it was encouraging. I’ve thought about where I would ever find a therapist that I could vent to about my concerns and anxieties which are mainly centered around where our country is headed and the craziness going on with CRT and dealing with people who are brainwashed and clueless, but therapists seem to be almost exclusively leftists, and getting more leftist by the day. So I just lean on God and my faith and talking with like minded friends and patriot civic engagement groups in my church and community.
I worry about our young people though. Especially young white males. The social emotional learning (SEL) in schools is pure poison being pushed as the antidote for the sickness they have created.
And I don’t even have children!
You should see the courses on “racial and gender sensitivities” I would need to complete to achieve a degree in substance abuse counseling. Worst of all I would need to convince some Uber leftoid Professor that I actually believed all of that mind poison. I am not sure I could keep the con going in order to graduate, but then again, this Gen Xer could probably run circles around my Gen Z(or whatever they’re called) classmates, because Mom taught me life isn’t fair at an early age.
Just an observation. It seems the MS, the job title, the University etc. are what gave him his substitute self. The blow to his ego when he was fired was too much. He reminds me of that young Mormon man in Utah several years ago who killed his wife rather than admit to her that he wasn’t attending his college courses and they weren’t going to be transferring elsewhere. He couldn’t admit that his whole life was a sham.

His father wailed against “assault riffles” on one of his social media sights just recently. We had a friend who survived this massacre. He was in the conference room when the gunman started shooting. He hit the ground after the first shot then looked up to see the gunman staring at him not five feet away. He was then shot, thankfully the bullet hit his upper leg and went clean through exiting the other side of his leg. Missed the artery. He was somehow able to get out of the conference room got to his office and called 911. He exited out a side door. He is still in hospital but will be okay.
God bless him! What a traumatic experience!

In a different time kids got money; and more important, life experience by earning money having a paper route, mowing lawns, shoveling snow and later working a low paying jobs when they turned 16.

Another observation…When my daughter was in graduate school for psychology, one of her grad school professors seemed to want to know how difficult everyone’s childhood
was. My daughter felt guilty because she was white and had a fairly normal upbringing. I told her, well, you are the daughter of an alcoholic. Yes, he has been in recovery for

A peculiar thing about mass shootings. They have an odd coincidence of kicking off when and where gun legislation is brewing in the state(s) in question.

Here are some observations:
Our mental health system not only is difficult to access, I think it is more harmful than good.
Most primary physicians do not continue to see the mental health problems of patients needing more than simple antidepressants, but the access to good counselling or psychiatric prescribing is poor
The majority of “professionals” prescribing meds stronger than simple antidepressants (SSRI, SNRI, NDRI) are nurse practitioners with very little experience or supervision. Psychiatrist MDs cannot make a living that pays for their education seeing individual patients for more than 5-10 minutes. Most psychiatrists “supervise” many NPs in Mental Health Mills running people through like cattle.
Good “counselling” is not paid for by insurance. Kids in crisis who see licensed counselors see them once every week or two and not very long because they cannot afford them.
The large majority of counsellors are woke or liberal, including those in Christian settings. Those available to working employees under employee assistance programs is a different silo of professionals. They don’t know or respect the powerful impact that many psychiatric drugs have, and practice in cultures where the knowledge and experience base is low.
many compassionate people want to go into helping professions. Being a doctor is minimum 11 years including residency, often 15-16 yrs. And the lifestyle of us afterwards sucks as we become slaves of the medical industrial complex.
Much of the “help” people get for mental illness is from friends, internet, suggestions of friends of what drugs they need.
In the news media, we are hearing that many of these people had mental health issues, but no details. No record of the care they are receiving, who was counselling, what drugs they were on, how they were being treated.
trying to get the information and history or details of medical care, media exposure, social circles is as impossible as getting good raw data on Covid.
Mental health care is poorly accessible. The care that is accessible is poor, and in my experience, may in many cases be more harmful than it is helpful.
Most of todays churches are not effective in promoting recovery for mental illness.
The social networks of our less than 40 year old crowd are not networks that promote growth and stability. They are partying crowds, gaming groups, groups that are anti-family, self centered, not focused on contribution to society other than woke agendas.
SSRIs are not simple drugs. They carry black label warnings of suicidal ideation and homicidal rage for those under 25.
Ya know, one would think that with all the AI built into Facebook that the software could identify and flag such idiots before they start shooting. It should be a trivial exercise to alert the local authorities before things get spicy.
Common sense solutions:
1. Return God in school.
2. Restore the family as the core unit of society.
3. Stop trying to normalize mentally unstable and sinful behavior.
4. Arrest, prosecute, and punish criminals.
5. Arm and train citizens to defend themselves.

This describes my son on the autism spectrum. Does that mean I should just preemptively commit him to a mental institution for what he could possibly do one day? Hell I was bullied in school but I haven’t committed mass murder should I just commit myself as well because I might one day? Seriously we can’t just lock up everyone who is struggling…but it seems like this is the road people want to go down so we don’t touch the guns. Believe me I don’t want to give up my guns either but we can’t lock up everyone who is different. Autism rates are now 1 in 32 children. I’m sorry but we can’t lock all these people away for what they could possibly do one day. Taking away guns and making more gun laws isn’t the answer either though.Wish I did have a solution.
Autism does not necessarily lead to violence. Those on the spectrum who have loving family support and moral guidence are no more likely to want to kill others as anyone else.

The shooter was a good high school basketball player here in Indiana. My son played against him. My son told me that this kid had suffered so many concussions that he was required to wear a helmet while playing basketball. Could CTE also have been a factor?
