I will thank you. We meet at Mom & Dad’s house for an Easter pitch in. It is not the house that us kids grew up in but it is the one that Mom & Dad built and spent their last 25 years or so in. So there are many memories. We would all get together for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays and occasions there.
My sister and I inherited it. My sister wants to buy my half to keep the place to live in and so we have a house large enough to handle our relatively large and close family for get togethers. The appraisal came in at $325,000 and that was a bit of a stretch for Sis I thought and so I offered to take $25,000 off the price of my half if she buys it. That was enough to bring it within her budget she thinks and has said she is going to buy it.
You are a loving brother. The family is everything. As you say, it’s not about the money. Excellent. Just excellent!! 😘

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday, my Treeper friends. This is a special time for Christians because it celebrates our Lord rising from the dead. Just as he died on the cross for us, so does his resurrection tell us something important. Our Lord rose from the dead to demonstrate to us his ultimate reality. His message to us: Our Lord is real. Belief is real. Faith is real. His love for us is real. And most important, His forgiveness of our sins is real. All we have to do simply ask his forgiveness and he will hear our words.
I know this is true because it has happened to me. Today, attending a church service with friends, I felt his presence. For a telling moment Our Lord entered my heart with his love. This has happened before. So, I welcomed the feeling of Our Lord’s presence if only for that fleeting moment.

There were several baptisms, one of which was this beautiful little girl. Both she and her parents were obviously so happy and so proud of their little daughter’s special sacred moment.
This beautiful child, about 5 or so, was so careful to hold her candle just right, Understanding the enjoyment and importance of her moment, I couldn’t help thinking that with people like her in our work we might have a chance of maintaining our wonderful society. It was then that I felt Our Lord’s gentle presence, reminding me that He was with me. What a beautiful, yet small and so personal, moment.

Good morning and happy Easter, Treepers.
Was sitting with my wife for a while; got home about 30 minutes ago. I’ve been sitting by her bed side while she sleeps during the night. This has been the routine for the past few months. She wakes up for a few minutes; she knows I’m with her, and then goes back to sleep. Tonite she ate a cheeseburger and some Tater Tots. I’ll pick up something for her on the way if it’s not too late.
Sometimes I’ll visit with her during the day, usually I’m conked out off and on morning and afternoon. If I happen to be out running errands, I’ll swing by the nursing home and check on her.
It gets a little bleak not having her home with me. The dogs and cats keep me company, but it’s not quite the same without my spouse.

Mornin’ Joe. One thing I worked hard to maintain during the 18 years I was my wife’s caregiver is working to turn isolation . . . into solace. When I could do that I didn’t feel the loneliness that so often comes with caregiving. Good on ‘ya my friend. I hope you find your own solace along with Our Lord’s Grace this Easter.

Thank you benzy. I know that I’m not alone with this situation; I feel like I am amongst friends here at the Treehouse. There are others who have already lost loved ones. A friend of ours lost her husband about a year ago. He passed away in a nursing home. She’s still trying to cope with it.
Anyways, I’m doing ok, have a happy and blessed Easter.
Praying for you and your wife, Joe. It’s not easy being the care-taking spouse. Not only are you dealing with the health issues of your loved one but you also have the very real issues of loss that you describe which are a significant impact in your life. Remember to take care of yourself as you take care of her. Praying His blessings of support and comfort for you.🙏🙏🌼
It’s been a long day, Joe, but wanted to wish you Blessed Easter, too.

Others here have said what I would say and cannot improve on their comments;
but want you to know that I’m sorry about what you and your wife are going through.
I know caring for a spouse is way harder than for a mother.
Nevertheless, I was sole caregiver of my mother for many years.
Towards the end, she was in nursing home and then hospice.
I visited her every day and, like you, tried to stay on top of all the details.
It was exhausting – physically, emotionally, spiritually, and extremely lonely.
Be encouraged, Joe, in the darkest days, that God will see you both through,
because He knows the plan and He loves you both.
Remember that Treeper friends will help carry your burden, with a listening ear and heart, and by prayer.
Here are some words I keep on my phone that have given me strength many times:

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Being saved and seeing Jesus are not the same thing. Many are partakers of God’s grace who have never seen Jesus. When once you have seen Jesus, you can never be the same, other things do not appeal as they used to do.

Please… come and have bunny cake! But first, bacon-wrapped eggs in muffin pan for breakfast. Another homage to my Mom.
Also, that Stabilized Whipped Cream frosting which has barely any sugar in it… that was an utter faux pas yesterday due to overwhipping… has now become a rather excellent vanilla mousse that is delicious scooped into coffee. (We don’t let things go to waste around here.) Thus, a gentle scoop with a little nutmeg on top for a little “extra” to your coffee.
Plus the non-flavored gelatin within does nice things for our joints, as mine are prone to aching and creaking. There’s always an underlying nutritional quality to things I make. Even if a “bunny cake” doesn’t sound all that nutritious – it’s the project that counts together with the kiddo.
After church, we will hard boil some salad eggs, dye them, and paint them. We paint them like little works of art. Typically, we always have a Van Gogh Starry Night in there. Then, we are sad to crack them and eat them. LOL
So touching, JW, that you’re keeping your dear mother’s memory alive… I read once that she died when you were a child?
Besides, you are making precious indentions in your daughter’s heart that will bring her loving memories, too.

Good morning patriots. He is risen!
Last October we found a Dark-Eyed Junco with an injured wing in our backyard. At the time the govt was pushing the bird flu narrative and warning of the dangers of migratory birds, so he was already targeted by feds, a kindred spirit. In the course of trying to patch up his wing, he became part of our family. His name was Crash. Every morning Crash would wait for my wife to bring out her trampoline for her workout. When Juncos get excited or happy they jump straight up, and he would jump with her through her entire workout, every day. He would jump for the kids, and jump whenever we had to bring one of our chickens into the kitchen. For a little bird, he lived a life of joy.
Yesterday morning we found Crash in his cage with an injured eye. We cared for him throughout the day, and he seemed better last night, but we had to warn the children that he might not survive the night. He didn’t, so this has been a bittersweet Easter morning.
As a migratory bird during a government psyop, the ‘bird flu’, if we had listened to the media, the govt (same thing), we would have never brought Crash into our home. We would have missed all the joy he brought to us. We owe a debt to that little bird which I am acknowledging right now.
The moral of this story is that if you find someone like Crash that has been lied about, injured, and targeted by feds, by govt liars, don’t turn your back. Take them in. Provide refuge and help them heal. The Lord might have sent them to enrich your family like Crash enriched outs.

I’ve always thought we do not know the half of His creations. I’ve seen too many videos of miraculous interactions to think otherwise. We, too, are lovers of wildlife. In Wales we did the same for a magpie with an injured wing who chose our garden for refuge and safety.
Perhaps the only silver lining of the past three years has been that now those who have been paying attention no longer give two hoots what anyone in government says. Their foul, evil agenda is out in the open. They can go whistle…

Easter would be a good time to ponder how the Forces of Darkness have been able to get so many Passivity Pills into the population…

However they’ve done it, it’s been eerily effective.
May Easter remind us that passivity in the face of Evil is no longer an option in the West.
It started in the generations right after WW II. And the passivity pill is relatively easy living. The WW II generation was forged in the depression and tempered by world war. A war, which for them, started with a sneak attack on US territory. The nation and it’s peoples united like it never has before. That is not to say there was still not domestic conflict, because there certainly was, but in the final analysis, for the vast majority the domestic squabbles such as that between labor and industry, blacks and whites, those that were of military age that were not drafted because their skills were deemed vital for war production and those that went into the service, became secondary to winning the war.
That generation then came home after the war and converted a war time economy such as the world had never seen into a peacetime one which the world had never seen. Their spawn had it relatively easy and so has each succeeding generation since then. Easy living means more leisure time, and more time for mischief. It means more apathy and less appreciation for the freedoms bestowed upon them by the prior generations.
At the same time the military industrial complex that had been founded in the war had seen the profits of war and became imbedded.
The prosperity also led to the ability of liberals to fund great social experiments like LBJs “Great Society” even as the military industrial complex was sated with the war in Vietnam. And then of course institutionalized racial and gender discrimination in the under the label of “affirmative action”.
Skilled trades somehow became passe. Higher education in academia the preferred route promoted for personnel prosperity with academia fully behind and promoting all the socialist experiments.
And down we continue to go.
He is coming. It could happen anytime.
