Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The last time I went fishing was with my Dad. Five and a half years ago. This week marks the fifth anniversary of his passing….
I need a day off, with all of my work caught up.
I need a fishing pole and a chair. MAYBE even some bait.
And I’d like to be right there.
Enjoying the beauty, without stress.
Thanks for posting that, along with all the other pictures you post, Jay.
Good morning Greg! 😁
Even adults need a time out! 🎣 ⛱
Ah…fishing pole and chair… sounds perfect.
God bless you.
Looks like someone’s back yard at their lake house, I’ll bet there’s a shed with chair’s and gear to go fishing with . 🇺🇸😁🇺🇸
Fishing is good for the soul. Always was. Always is. 🙂

JESUS CHRIST DIES ON THE CROSS
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.”
Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him a drink. The rest said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”
Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
Now the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were terrified, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
Matthew 27: 45-54
WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSS
John 19:25-27
Therefore the soldiers did these things. B ut standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He *said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He *said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.
Psalm 22
A psalm of David.
1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, but I find no rest.[b]
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.[c]
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.
6 But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me;
they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
“let the Lord rescue him.
Let him deliver him,
since he delights in him.”
9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast on you;
from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
11 Do not be far from me,
for trouble is near
and there is no one to help.
12 Many bulls surround me;
strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
13 Roaring lions that tear their prey
open their mouths wide against me.
14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax;
it has melted within me.
15 My mouth[d] is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
you lay me in the dust of death.
16 Dogs surround me,
a pack of villains encircles me;
they pierce[e] my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
people stare and gloat over me.
18 They divide my clothes among them
and cast lots for my garment.
19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me.
You are my strength; come quickly to help me.
20 Deliver me from the sword,
my precious life from the power of the dogs.
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
save me from the horns of the wild oxen.
22 I will declare your name to my people;
in the assembly I will praise you.
23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not despised or scorned
the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
but has listened to his cry for help.
25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
before those who fear you[f] I will fulfill my vows.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
those who seek the Lord will praise him—
may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,
28 for dominion belongs to the Lord
and he rules over the nations.
29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
30 Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,
declaring to a people yet unborn:
He has done it!
Hang.
With Christ.
On the Cross!
Great post. Thank you. ✝️
Morning Frank!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Gal. 2:20

where are the Rooftop Koreans when you need ’em?
can we get some of these guys on the southern border?
I remember talking about these guys, as it happened, when I was in the Army.
They didn’t mess around.
And nobody messed around with them.
Funny how that works.
Probably, they were former military, possibly ours or S. Korea. Definitely were set to defend both themselves and their property. The LA Riots were a very weird time. Several people saw what happened to Reginald Denny on their TVs and independently came to rescue him. Oh, yeah. They were black.
What I was told, back then, was that they were former ROK soldiers.
Dunno if that’s accurate or not, but it’s what I was told.
A guy I served with knew a guy in the CIA. His wife was stuck downtown and she called, desperately, for help.
He broke nearly all the rules. He took an MP5 (fully auto) with him in the car, along with loaded magazines.
He came to a police barricade. He realized he had an enormous problem.
The cops asked him if he had a gun. He replied that he did, in the trunk. They asked to see it. Now he knew he was in trouble. He opened the trunk, and there was the MP5.
They asked if he had any ammo.
The magazines of ammo were in the glove box.
They told him to load it.
Then they said, and this is the quote I was told long ago, “be careful, they are killing white people”.
He got his wife home safely.
That was a terrible time.
I sincerely wish that race relations could be better.
I seem to recall the good hearted people people trying to save Reginald Denny.
All of that was a nightmare.
Frankfurt School Marxist based Critical Theory explains how “direct action” like riots, open borders, soft-on-crime policies, work together to break down society’s enduring social institutions. When people begin to lose confidence in, for instance, law enforcement, climate change, or government itself, this is said to set the stage for erection of a new Marxist based society on the ruins of the old free, capitalist society. This is well under way now.
Interesting, and it makes things make a bit more sense, now.
Those people ain’t gonna like rednecks (who come in all shapes and sizes, even from inner cities), hillbillies, and a whole bunch of other folks who won’t go along with the communism.
Which, of course, is why our founders wrote the 2nd Amendment immediately after they codified freedom of speech in the 1st Amendment. This is also why the Hard Left is continually pushing for gun-control. Or as our dear leader always says—we don’t need “weapons of war” or any other semi-automatic weapon to go hunting. He deliberately forgets that the Concord Bridge patriots were there for a completely different reason.
Interesting that those former ROK soldiers seized their moment away from the rioters because they knew they were in a free country where they had the right to self-defense.
Wow this sounds like my old boss in L.A. He was a federal fire arms dealer and also the Business Development Manager for a major heavy machinery dealer. Respect that guy so much!

The rock formation on the right is beautiful…is it an ancient volcano?
America the Beautiful! Thank you for the pic!
That middle layer of strata might indicate a shoreline that existed eons ago. The whole area could have been a huge lake. Maybe. I’m just guessing. I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone were to climb that rock cliff, they would find fossils indicating coral or some type of sea life from long ago.

Definitely see stratification which continues across peaks. The layers though have been warped after having formed. And there are white (quartz?) seams penetrating through the layers.
Lots of geology displayed in that pic.
yep, lots of stratification, lots of different colored layers, differential weathering of soft and hard layers

You’re welcome, Garrison. I love listening to Segovia. That guy was a world class guitarist.
Yeah, his phraising, his overall interpretations, were unique to him. I had the good fortune to attend many of his concerts—many at the great Jones Hall in Houston.
At one of these he had a memory slip in the middle of a long set of pieces by Handel. I was familiar with the music so I knew when he’d gotten lost. There was just the slightest pause, perhaps a half beat, and then he just improvised—sounding very like Handel—until he found his place. Then he calmly finished the pieces.
Those of us who were players and immediately knew what had happened were more than a little astonished that he could do this. But, then, this is why he was regarded as the world’s greatest classical guitarist. Segovia was just Segovia. Nobody was better.
Good morning all.
A fun fact. There have been no landfalling hurricanes on the shores of New England or Long Island for 32 years! From 1938 to 1991 they had a landfall somewhere along those coasts every 6.7 years.
Weatherbell’s hurricane impact forecast for the 2023 season is out. Likeliest area of impact on US shores runs along the east coast from about Charleston, SC up to Cape Cod, MA.
They forecast that in total there will be:
10-14 named storms
5-7 Hurricanes
2-3 of those will be major hurricanes (CAT 3) or higher.
Weatherbell, like virtually everyone else, was way off on the number of storms they forecasted for last year. But their impact forecast showing where storms were most likely to come ashore was right on the money! No other forecasters that I’m aware of does an impact forecast telling where storms are most likely to hit.
WHY ARE WE NOT TOLD PLAINLY?
“He charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.” Mark ix. 9
Say nothing until the Son of man is risen in you – until the life of the risen Christ so dominates you that you understand what the historic Christ taught. When you get to the right state on the inside, the word which Jesus has spoken is so plain that you are amazed you did not see it before. You could not understand it before, you were not in the place in disposition where it could be borne.
Our Lord does not hide these things; they are unbearable until we get into a fit condition of spiritual life. “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.” There must be communion with His risen life before a particular word can be borne by us. Do we know anything about the impartation of the risen life of Jesus? The evidence that we do is that His word is becoming interpretable to us. God cannot reveal anything to us if we have not His Spirit. An obstinate outlook will effectually hinder God from revealing anything to us. If we have made up our minds about a doctrine, the light of God will come no more to us on that line, we cannot get it. This obtuse stage will end immediately His resurrection life has its way with us.
“Tell no man…” – so many do tell what they saw on the mount of transfiguration. They have had the vision and they testify to it, but the life does not tally with it, the Son of man is not yet risen in them. I wonder when He is going to be formed in you and in me?
Oswald Chambers
April 7th Devotional
Let’s see. Elias and Moses visit Jesus. Jesus tells his disciples that witnessed the visit to keep it quiet until He has risen from the dead.
Chambers has quite distorted this verse. Fascinating thought, having Christ resurrect himself in us. But that is not what Jesus said in this verse. Nor was it “unbearable” to the apostles to have witnessed this.
Frankly, this sounds like a way of smacking down someone like me that pointed out that he had misrepresented what some other verse said. Obstinate, unfit, and using many words to say unsaved. But this is not a specific putdown, it is a general put down of all who follow his words with questions. And a distortion of the conditions of being saved. ‘I tell you what the scriptures say, and if you can’t get it, you are obstinate, unfit and unsaved.’
But he does end by including himself in that last group. Trying to motivate everybody, even himself.
For those who want to memorize scripture, the easiest is “Jesus wept.” It takes more work to remember the book, chapter and verse than it does to remember the content. But the content can mean so many more things than what is happening in the context of the surrounding verses.
Even in scripture, it is not unusual to find older scriptures taken out of context and given new interpretation. I have even read a book about this. (a boring book using lots of technical terms to make it less interesting). So I need to be careful when I see the same thing today. And ask questions about other scriptures that may support the same view. Not seeing other scriptures cited is troublesome. He uses quotes for one scripture but doesn’t cite it. There may be others that I miss. But if there are other scriptures that say what he wants to say, why take one that doesn’t and distort it?
BTW, the distortion actually diminishes the resurrection. Is Jesus really going to be resurrected, or is it just some emotions in our hearts? This is one of the many times that Jesus predicted his death and resurrection, even conditioning instructions on that resurrection.
And no, the disciples did not realize what they heard when Jesus made these predictions. So there is definitely some obtuseness on display when they do tell us. And that is also mentioned in scripture. If you read a little further, you will see that they asked about the importance of this visit. To which he further cements his predictions in past scripture.
I know, so many questions! There are many instances that I wish I clearly understood much better but I’m not there yet and may never be on this side of the cross. Take for instance, Isaiah 53…it was prophesied about Jesus, but in the Garden of Gethsemane, even though He knew why He was here, still, He asked His Father to spare Him that cup! But, nevertheless, Your will, not mine.
No one can understand completely but we can, as humans, try to teach what we have learned through prayer and sacrifice. It’s not perfect by a long shot…but we keep trying to press forward…
Hope your day is Blessed Jim! 🙏✝
I’m with you, Stevie! Over the years whenever a question stumps me AND theologians,
this Scripture always grounds me:
“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Going forward, I rest in “child-like” faith.
We aren’t meant to understand all things….
Yes, I enjoy learning, but also simply “believe” what God’s Word says, according to my capability.
Contentment.
😊😊🌷
~~~ HOLY FRIDAY ~~~
Remember Me (3:29 mins)
beautiful full pink moon tonight
🙂
🙂
Good morning everyone!
Today is Good Friday, that day many years ago when Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, was slain for sinners.
I found this man’s statement helpful for meditation today:
“At the cross, Jesus 1) redeemed sinners, 2) reconciled rebels, 3) appeased God, 4) expiated sin, 5) purchased forgiveness, 6) won righteousness, 7) defeated Satan.”
~ Steven Lawson ~
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
May we all recognize how much God loves us …
The seven last words of Christ on the cross
To God: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
To the “good thief”: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
To Mary, his mother: “Woman, behold your son”… and to John: “Behold your mother.”
To God, his Father: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
To all: “I thirst.”
To the world: “It is finished.”
To God: “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”
So beautiful, Molon, goes straight to my heart…💕
The number seven symbolizes perfection in the Bible.
And Jesus was, and still, the only perfect Holy One.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!”
Be blessed today, friend.
✝️✝️
Amen! 🙌✝️🙌
Thank you Molon. God Bless you.
Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. – Romans 12:5
Today, Good Friday, Christians remember the price Jesus paid so people can become part of God’s family. The 12th chapter of Romans describes how to treat those within and those outside of the family of God. The first part of Romans 12 describes how God has graced each individual with different gifts. In verse 6, Paul instructs, “Let us use them.”
The gifts he mentions are prophecy, service, teaching, exhortation, giving, leadership, and compassion (vv. 6-8). These gifts can show up in a plethora of ways, such as teaching Sunday school, contributing to a cause, taking soup to someone who is sick, or sitting with someone who is grieving.
Take a moment to ask yourself, “What gifts has God graced me with and how can I use them to, first, help my brothers and sisters in Christ and, second, to help those outside the body of Christ?”
God showed His love by sending His Son as a sacrifice for sin and a way to be united with Him as a family. How much more shall believers show their love to Him!? This Easter weekend, worship Him and praise Him for what He has done. Thank Him for the incredible family He has given you.
Pray that each believer will do their part in the body of Christ. As Paul said in today’s verse and the previous one, as a body has different members so the members of the body of Christ have different functions. Pray that the follower of Christ in the United States will learn to use their gifts and talents to God’s glory.
BABY LIVES MATTER
JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
Good morning, everyone. On this Good Friday I would like to wish God’s blessing on everyone here. May this Easter bring new hope and renewal for us individually, and as a nation.
2 Chronicles 7:14
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Peace to you my dear friend duchess
May the peace of Christ be with you today
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
Good morning to my beloved friends whom I’ve missed so much this week.
We are on the last leg of this unexpected journey today. First surgery was a just in the nick of time gall bladder removal…successful.
Today he receives the aortic stent for the aneurysm we didn’t know he had. After that, all being well, he should return home tomorrow or Sunday.
Prayer is the most powerful action against trials, the most effective medicine against sickness, and the most valuable gift to someone we care for.
I believe with all my heart this is true. The abundance of prayers from friends, brothers and sisters here, has brought so many blessings…large, small, and I am sure many we are unaware of. I am without adequate words to tell each prayer warrior who offered those loving prayers how grateful we are that Almighty God chose to put you in our lives. May He bless all of you mightily and make His face to shine on each one of you. I…we…are filled with gratitude.🙏🏻😘
Good morning sunshine
So good to see you friend
Peace of Christ be with you
So grateful to hear from You, Betsy!
You have been in all of our thoughts and prayers, sharing in your heavy burdens.
The good news about your husband is so encouraging!
And yes, we remember how you feel about “coincidences!”
It’s all Divine Providence. I pray you will rest in that truth – today and in coming days.
God is with you all. Lead on, O King Eternal.
Please take of yourself, too.
We’ve missed you – greatly.
Good afternoon, Bet. Good to hear from you. So far so good; hoping your husband returns home soon (tomorrow maybe?)
Blessings to you and yours.
💕
Bless you both, Bet. This would, of course, be the day I didn’t have much time to peruse this thread so I am just now reading your words. I am very familiar with aortic aneurysms. They can, indeed, be both completely unknown and quite deadly. That’s what suddenly killed my dad in ’89 (the same age I’ll be in a couple of months) and the same kind of aneurysm almost got me in ’07. My surgery was pretty extensive—hart valve replacement, aneurysm repair, sundry other fixes. The surgical teams who do this work have to be world-class as I’m certain your’s will be. Again, be blessed dear friend. We here are all pulling for you and praying for you! 🙂
💕
I am so thankful to know all is going well with you and your beloved husband. Glory to God in the highest! Prayers for a quick and complete recovery.
💕
Blessings!
A blessed Good Friday to you and your husband and may our Father grant him a steady recovery to good health…
Betsy I forgot to include your grandson in my previous post so please know that he is also in my prayers.. 🙏🏻
💕
So glad to hear your report, dear Betsy. 🙏🙏 that all will continue for the good. 🌿🌺🌿
Still praying! And grateful for the good news!
Good morning dear Bet! I keep praying for your hubby, grandson, and you. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Miss you
ABSOLUTELY. ✝️
Beautiful Scripture, Dan…
It’s been said: Nails did not hold Jesus on the cross. LOVE did.
The Seven Last Words of Christ is a mistranslation of the the French Les Sept Paroles du Christ (The Seven Last Statements of Christ), a Good-Friday cantata set to music by various composers, the best by the French composer Theodore Dubois.
It is easily worth 50 minutes of your time, especially today: marvelous music and here is an excellent performance by a Korean Catholic Choir with a symphony orchestra:
Mornin’ all!
Well, my daughter cut her hair off last night because it was coming out in clumps every morning when she woke up. Still has a butch and not completely bald yet.
Prayers up for your daughter. Please God give her the strength she needs to help her thru these treatments. Please heal her and make her whole again. Amen.
May God bless her in the trials she and you are all going through. Send her some cool hats in different colors. Many women i have known that went through chemo had their hair grow back thicker, some with a different texture, when it was all over.
That must have been hard for her, Rah, but one less thing to maintain. Praying our Lord infuses her from the tips of whatever remains of her hair, to her fingertips, down to her toes with His Healing, driving out all nefarious disease and cancer, and restoring her fully back to the very best version of herself. I pray her rest and resolve through this. In Jesus’s Holy and Saving Name, AMEN
I was just thinking and praying about your daughter rah…. will keep praying for her that she will be given comfort and courage through the treatments and the best possible outcome for a full recovery. God Bless your entire family. Happy Easter.
Continued prayers for God’s perfect healing for her, rah.
🙏🙏 for her rah and for you also.
Prayers for your daughter to heal completely. That has to be a difficult trial for her, made easier knowing family and friends are pulling for her recovery.
A Blessed Good Friday to your entire family, Rah.
Good morning Molonlabe!
To my many Catholic friends, this Confessional Lutheran was delighted to learn the following about your beloved priest, Jan Michael Joncas:
http://www.NUJournal.com
NEW ULM — The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame (MMHF) will be inducting five new members on Friday, April 14 and hosting an inductee showcase on Saturday, April 15.
The induction ceremony is a chance for the public to meet the latest additions to MMHF. The showcase is a chance to experience the entire history of Minnesota Music.
MMHF executive director Bonnie Ubl said this year’s showcase will be extra special thanks to the inclusion of new Prince memorabilia.
Ubl said the entire museum received an overhaul during the winter. All displays have been reorganized to better open up the space for visitors.
This year’s inductees are The Jolly Huntsman, Rebecca “Becky Buller,” The Del Counts, Gwen Mathews and Father Jan Michael Joncas.
[COMMENT: Joncas is the author of “On Eagle’s Wings”, along with 53 other hymns. We have that hymn and “Take and Eat” in our Christian Worship hymnal, and we sang it last night before Holy Communion. Mrs. Arminius and I marveled at its majesty and beauty…again.]
I have a question that I posted in the last open thread but it was a little late that I would like to ask the group. Some of the sites I visit have a large group of never Trumpers and they always use as a club against voting for Trump again is the following line: “So why didn’t Trump pardon the Jan 6th ‘insurrectionists’? I have not entered into any online debate with these never Trumpers (likely paid astro-turfers) but they have a point because most of the people were arrested before he left office. Any thoughts??
You know, chestdocmd, I can’t claim to have any inside scoop on Trump’s thought process or frame of mind, but I can surmise this from what I’ve witnessed in his public expressions.
Trump has (had) a respect for the rule of law and due process. He has faithfully taken everything thrown at him and has worked within the confines of law and order – even when his enemies do not. He has a deep respect for this country and the legitimate rules of law set in place by our legislators.
Now, it is obvious to everyone that lawfare is being weaponized against America first patriots. By the time 1/6th happened and the illegitimate ascension into the Presidency of Biden on 1/20th… it is possible that the elements and details pertaining to the “perceived insurrection” were not all known at Trump’s “16,000 foot level” and much was still trying to be sorted through. They say, what… there’s 40,000+ hours of video tape from the thousands of Capital cameras??? How much of that ascends to the level of the Presidency and how much of that is left to the positions who are supposed to tend to and resolve such matters.
This, in my opinion, is also where the faux vaccine controversies go. One man, even a President, cannot be omnipotent and omnipresent like God. That President relies on his or her delegated staff to uphold the law of the Constitution and of the American People with dignity and allegience. We have found that too many… were derelict in their duties and, frankly, partook in criminally treasonous offenses. Justice must… and will… come.
So when people want to clamor and blame Trump for everything… let he who is blameless cast the first stone. Because too many of us bit players in the cheap seats have been asleep for too long in the running of our local governments and now we have a runaway regime on overspeed destroying our country and assaulting and bankrupting our children.
Trump was building America – reinforcing her – making her stronger as a world dominant player…. these criminals are destroying her.
And it really is… that simple.
The subtext of the Never Trumpers reveals their intent. Of course they’d have preferred to have DJT fall on his sword by issuing blanket pardons. Doing that would have insured that his standing in American politics would have been so damaged that he would be forever prevented from successfully running for president. Instead, much to their consternation, the MAGA movement is now stronger than ever and Trumps popularity is soaring.
Put another way . . . by choosing not to die on that hill, our president retained his ability to save our nation. DJT may well be our last hope to accomplish that.
SWEET JESUS – WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR US
How can we thank You for Your love for us
For what You have suffered – Oh, Sweet Jesus
It began with prayer in the Garden
You sweat tears of blood for our pardon
You taught us acceptance of Father’s will
You taught the importance of prayer still
You displayed how to be a servant of all
How blessed we are if we answer His call
You set out patience and perseverance
Your silence was notable adherence
We cannot imagine the perpetual pain
And all for our eternal life to gain
You exemplified unconditional love
What we struggle to be capable of
With each step to Your final elevation
Each part of You in abject ablation
Sweet Jesus – What have You done for us
Humiliating degradation thus
The agony had to be core complete
For propitiation – our sin to delete
The example of patient perseverance
Is one we must learn for apt adherence
We forget – we complain – of daily woes
You sorely suffered at the hands of Your foes
Our lives in turmoil – our nation in distress
There appears to be no end to the duress
And yet – when we think of Your sacrifice
All that we suffer is naught imprecise
Thus – If we turn the cross into a plus
We see clearly what You have done for us
The love displayed by Your outstretched arms
Anything we suffer – Your love disarms
Thank You, Sweet Jesus, for so loving us
For reopening Heaven – surely a plus
At the end of our lives here on Earth
A glorious reward of wondrous worth
Around 10 p.m. on April 4, U.S. Army Special Operations Command soldiers, ➜assisted by personnel from the FBI⬅︎😎’s Boston office, entered a downtown Boston hotel as part of a training exercise. Once inside, they raided a room and detained a man inside. As so often happens in training, though, a problem arose: It was the wrong room and the wrong guy.
“First and foremost, we’d like to extend our deepest apologies to the individual who was affected by the training exercise,” said Lt. Col. Mike Burns, a spokesman for U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
According to the FBI, “based on inaccurate information, they were sent to the wrong room and detained an individual, not the intended role player.”
