PILATE GIVES IN TO THE CROWD

Now Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

Jesus said to him, “So you say.”

When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?”

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner whom they desired. They had then a notable prisoner called Barabbas. When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?”

They said, “Barabbas!”

Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus who is called Christ?”

They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”

But the governor said, “Why? What evil has he done?”

But they cried out exceedingly, saying, “Let him be crucified!”

So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”

All the people answered, “May his blood be on us and on our children!”

Then he released Barabbas to them, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

A LAMB GOES UNCOMPLAINING FORTH

1. A lamb goes uncomplaining forth, the guilt of sinners bearing.
And laden with the sins of earth, none else the burden sharing;
Goes patient on, grows weak and faint, to slaughter led without complaint.

He bears the stripes and wounds, the lies, the mockery, and yet replies,

2. This Lamb is Christ, the soul’s great friend, the Lamb of God, our Savior,
Whom God the Father chose to send to gain for us His favor.
“Go forth, My Son,” the Father said, “and free My children from their dread

The text of this hymn was written by Paul Gerhardt (1607-1660, a German pastor, theologian, and hymnist. Hymnary.org notes, “Gerhardt experienced much suffering in his life; he and his parishioners lived in the era of the Thirty Years’ War, and his family experienced incredible tragedy: four of his five children died young, and his wife died after a prolonged illness.”

The tune was written by Wolfgang Dachstein (1487-1553). According to hymnary.org, Dachstein was a monk who took up the cause of the Reformation.

Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43 “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn . . . TARES
TARES (Heb. זוּנִים, zunim), the darnel – Lolium temulentum, weed which grows among grain, particularly wheat. The grains resemble those of wheat so that it is very difficult to separate them by sifting, and as a result they are sown together with the wheat and grow with it in the field. Darnel flour is poisonous and gives a bitter taste to bread in which it has been mixed. The tares do no harm to birds, especially to doves (tj, Kil. 1:1, 26d). Nobody would consciously sow tares in his field. Hence the parable in the New Testament about the peasant “who sowed good seed in his fields… and his enemy came and sowed tares in the midst of the wheat” (Matt. 13:24–30). According to the halakhah wheat and tares do not constitute *kilayim (Leviticus 19:19) with one another (Kil. 1:1). The Jerusalem Talmud (ibid.) quotes a view that tares are called zunim because as a result of them the wheat mezannot (“commit[s] adultery”), i.e., it changes its characteristics and is turned into tares. This view had already been propounded by Galen (De Alimentis, 1:27), but Basilius argued with him: “Tares and other wild weeds are not formed by cultivated species changing into wild species” (Hexameron 5:5a). It has been demonstrated that by a thorough separation of the darnel seeds from the wheat seeds tares do not grow.

For this very reason come out from among them, and be you separate, says the LORD, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. It is evident, that the purpose of this parable, is for bringing attention to the fact, that there are false Christians, who are not the good seed; even though they are nearly identical in appearance; yet in nature, are nothing related at all. One is a cultivated grain good for food; and the other is a poisonous weed. There are some interesting and informative points taken from the Jewish explanation (above); which do give important meaning to the diabolic plot to sow them alongside the true wheat. They grow among the good grain, and it is difficult to tell them from the wheat, when sifting. But if they aren’t completely separated out and totally removed at the harvest, then they will make the bread bitter, at the very least, and very poisonous in the worst case.

Some believed that the tares would in fact change the characteristics of the wheat, making it then become the weed; and thus, “committing adultery”: which spiritually has solid affirmation, both from the Scriptures, which we reference for an example above. The other thought doesn’t accept that the bad plant does really change the nature of the good; but for an unknown reason, they don’t recognize that as “mingling seeds” and that forbidden by the Law. Maybe they think, that because it is something unintentional, or rather, “naturally occurring,” that it can’t be judged as breaking the law: even though, regardless of whether it was intended or an accident, it still happened!

The other point brought up, is that tares and and other wild weeds, if they are thoroughly separated from the wheat, they will not grow. So unless there is a reason for the false being among the true, the false would not be there at all. So it is the devil’s intent to ruin the harvest; and beyond that, the tares could not live at all. In this we can see the devil’s devices are precisely for robbing the elect, by using up the precious ground and water it needs to grow, for what will only be taken away and burned.

All these things being considered, we might wonder why the servants weren’t allowed to pull them up right away. But its clear, that because they are too hard to distinguish from the real wheat; and for fear of uprooting also the young wheat with them; It is best to let both grow together till the harvest. But how do we then interpret that in view of keeping the congregation clean and holy, and judging between our brethren? For while both are right, who then are the workers in the field, that the Lord said, to not root them up? Is it the angels who are charged with ministering to us? In that case the answer would be much easier to understand. For with respect to the authority of the church leadership, and the responsibility of every saint to be his brother’s keeper; I don’t know how the Lord could be talking about anyone BUT angels in this parable.

Good morning Treepers

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.  – Proverbs 27:17

Digital connections consume more space in your life than ever! Covid taught everyone how to share life through a screen. Some are even saying the core elements of human relationships are forever altered. Even the definition of “friendship” has been changed to include someone merely clicking “accept’ on a virtual invitation. The world is constantly changing, but you can rest assured God’s principles are eternal.

How HE defines friendship still applies regardless of modern technology. 

In both real and virtual relationships, as a follower of Christ, you are told not to associate with those given to rage and anger, “lest you learn those ways and entangle yourself in a snare” (Proverbs 22:24-25). No matter where you encounter them, you are warned to avoid those with “feet quick to do evil,” and “a false witness breathing out lies” (Proverbs 6:17-18). 

Likewise, God tells you what genuine friendship looks like, “one who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor” (Proverbs 12:26). A true friend will give you “earnest counsel” (Proverbs 27:9) and challenge you to do right when it is hard (Proverbs 27:5-6). A godly friend will love you when it is inconvenient (Proverbs 17:17). As today’s verse indicates, as you experience life together, you will nurture and deepen each other’s faith. 

Pray for decision-makers in America to surround themselves with wise, godly people, who encourage them in decisions that please God and serve the nation. Ask that leaders and teachers in American churches will train the next generation in defining “friendship” first as a relationship with Christ, teaching solid Biblical principles.

Never Let Your Heart Leave You.

It is a fleeting thing….the heart. You feel it. You know it. It is the thing inside you that keeps you alive.

But it keeps beating.

You know when you are in the fight for good. You know when they are against you. You wake up every morning knowing that the heart inside you exists for a reason. You are a power, even as small as you are.

You aren’t as small as you think.

Keep that heart alive. And keep it beating.

So far much less tornadic activity than was feared for this front coming through. Lots of hail (Especially up north in WI) and straight line winds but not many tornadoes. A thermal “cap” of warm air at altitude has prevented the cells from expanding upward and thus they aren’t becoming tornadic. This could change though and there have been a number of generally less powerful “spin up” tornadoes so far.

Northern portion of the front should reach my area in N. Central Indiana this afternoon at 13:00 to 14:00. The southern portion of the line down south is moving slower than the part that will effect us up here.

This still a dangerous situation all along the the front and things can change quickly, so pay attention if your area is in the cross hairs. But at least for now, Thank the Lord it has so far been far less dangerous than what we went through last Friday/Saturday.

Dear Lord,

It is exhausting just trying to stay grounded in reality. I wrote my thoughts on [confusing reality HERE]. ( I linked to avoid redundant posting).

This is a quite section of CTH where animals, songs, prayers, and devotions are posted. And some occasional crosstalk.

I’m needing fellowship and grounding. The days are whirlwinds, just to stay sustainable in medicine.

I miss fellowship. Front porch time. Walking with people. Beach time.

I miss the peace of knowing everything will be ok

In God’s perspective it will. In the spiritual realm, it is. But I am troubled today, and grateful for CTH fellowship.

HIS AGONY AND OUR FELLOWSHIP
 
“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples,…tarry ye here, and watch with Me.” Matthew xxvi. 36, 38
 
We can never fathom the agony in Gethsemane, but at least we need not misunderstand it. It is the agony of God and Man in one, face to face with sin. We know nothing about Gethsemane in personal experience. Gethsemane and Calvary stand for something unique; they are the gateway into Life for us.
 
It was not the death on the cross that Jesus feared in Gethsemane; He stated most emphatically that He came on purpose to die. In Gethsemane He feared lest He might not get through as Son of Man. He would get through as Son of God – Satan could not touch Him there; but Satan’s onslaught was that He would get through as an isolated Figure only; and that would mean that He could be no Saviour. Read the record of the agony in the light of the temptation: “Then the devil leaveth Him for a season.” In Gethsemane Satan came back and was again overthrown. Satan’s final onslaught against our Lord as SON OF MAN is Gethsemane.
 
The agony in Gethsemane is the agony of the Son of God in fulfilling His destiny as the Saviour of the world. The veil is drawn aside to reveal all it cost Him to make it possible for us to become sons of God. His agony is the basis of the simplicity of our salvation. The Cross of Christ is a triumph for the SON OF MAN. It was not only a sign that Our Lord had triumphed, but that He had triumphed to save the human race. Every human being can get through into the presence of God now because of what the Son of Man went through.

Never has there been, nor will ever be again, One Who will redeem the human race except for Jesus Christ! My heart yearns for Him! I Love Him so very much!

Even so Lord Jesus, be lifted up in every manner of Holy Honor, Glory and Praise! That in the Brightness of your Majesty and the Radiance of your Glory, every throne will be submitted in defeat before your throne and every tongue will confess in all places, in Heaven, in earth, even to the lowest hell, that You are Lord! Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords forever and ever! Amen!

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

The NWS has downgraded the tornado threat along the whole front. This does not mean that there will not be tornadoes, just that if there are they will be isolated and that the probability of an outbreak is low. Was 3 out of 5, now 2 out of 5. Still strong thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and wind, but this is more like a summer type situation than a spring tornado season out break.

Front now expected to hit my area about 30 miles NNE of Indy at about noon. There was a tornado warning SSW of Indy but it was from an isolated cell east of the front.

Be prepared for President Trump supporters being blamed for some incident the cancer cabal is plotting.

Let’s not forget the “scary white powder sent to high profile dems” operation the cabal apparently loves to use.

The Trump van that was claimed to be involved in sending white powder to multiple dems (in 2016) did not get the reaction intended, most people did not believe it.

Now in March white powder sent to Bragg’s office with MSM pretty much implying it had to be from some deranged President Trump supporter.

Again it just did not sound believable that some President Trump deranged person sent white powder to him.

Are they getting lazy coming up with ideas or is this a warm up to something much more damaging?!

This cabal doesn’t care who they hurt and boundary wise has lost any they may have had.
