Cotham’s party switch will have major ramifications for state politics. Republicans now have a supermajority in both chambers, which will make it next to impossible for Democrats to uphold Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s vetoes going forward.
House Republicans now control 72 of the chamber’s 120 seats — the exact number needed to override vetoes when all members are voting. Republicans came out of November’s election winning an outright supermajority in the Senate, but fell one seat short in the House, which is what makes Cotham’s decision so consequential.

As previously posted, Cooper is term limited and NC Gov will be an open seat in 2024. From last election cycle, NCSC now holds a Repub majority of 5 justices.
It was a Dem controlled NCSC that struck down voter ID in the last episode. With a Repub NCSC majority AND now a Repub state legislative supermajority, we need to contact our NC House and Senate reps to get another voter ID bill passed before the extremely important 2024 general elections for both NC Gov and POTUS.
The interesting thing about NC is that 10-15 years ago, people on the right mostly wrote it off as a carpetbagging infested democrat capture. The Triangle area was full to the brim with northeast and upper midwest locusts spreading their leftist filth.
The people in NC that worked hard to move this state back to center-right should be applauded. It didn’t happen by chance. People worked their tails off to make it happen. Work now to ensure it doesn’t get stolen away by these communists (aka all democrat voters).
Thanks Felix. That has been my plan for some time. Your 10-15 years timeframe puts it very close to 2010. Before that, FOR 100 years the NC state legislature was DEM controlled. There were laws still in place for forced sterilizations of people deemed ‘not worthy’ to have children. I couldn’t believe it! So I could understand why citizens might write it off as hopeless who are now waking up like the DEM House rep who just switched her party and she is from a DEM strong county.

Yep Felix, ActBlue has been real busy. I looked up donations in NC as recommended by James (forget his new company name). 99% donations were to ActBlue. Just like James was finding in Maryland. I only checked on the county I’m from. Those people don’t have that kind of money. Some of them don’t even have jobs. It’s a very poor county but there were many donations to ActBlue.

Madison is a powerful machine and its population is growing. Kids go to UW get indoctrinated, many go on to work for WI government which is, of course, in Madison. Many go to work for expanding businesses in Madison and there are many imports working for those companies that have no real interest in our former republic but vote D.
Wisconsin is now a near blue state, No R, including President Trump, can win Wisconsin in the future.
College students will vote twice at the same time. Once by mail in their home district and again where they live on campus.
Same thing in Florida with the snowbirds voting in New York City and in Florida. I actually heard a bunch of them joking about it in a restaurant!

I cannot find a proper analysis of the Wisconsin disaster yesterday in the Supreme Court election: how many candidates ran?
I saw something about the Conservative Republican getting only 25 % of the vote, yet losing by 10%. (?)
Apparently the Communist judge promised to undo abortion restrictions and rewrite election maps to favor DEMS.
So, are that many people in favor of infanticide in Wisconsin?
Was the election stolen through fraud? (Green Bay voting machines apparently had a mysterious malfunction toward the end.)
Or was the candidate for the Republicans that awful? Supposedly he had little funding.
It’s not exactly full blown “Infanticide” to want a 12 YO victim of incest to be able to get a legal abortion should they choose to do so.
If Rs do not make it CLEAR that they *are* willing to put some exceptions to the “No Abortions” rhetoric, then they will keep losing.
Cuz this is about the best GOTV gift that Rs have ever delivered to the Ds.
I can guarantee you that every kid at UW Madison voted in this election. And will continue to do so for as long as Rs do not bother to clarify and get their message out that Abortion will remain legal under certain circumstances.

Dem Voters believe ANY BS they are fed by their masters. Dem pols and Politicians say Rs want to “make abortion illegal” and Dem voters BELIEVE that.
Which means that Rs have to CLARIFY in no uncertain terms what their position ACTUALLY is.
And they have to do that *succinctly* in a way that is easily repeatable and memorable. No rambling iffy statements.
Sheesh. This is not Rocket Science. But these idiots make it seem waaay more difficult than it actually is.
Countries in Lefty Europe have national 15-16 week limits on abortion (with exceptions, I’m sure), but most Dems don’t even KNOW that. And these are countries that Dems typically “admire”. Amazing that R Pols and Media don’t even mention that.
After Roe v Wade was overturned WI law reverted back to an 1849 abortion ban. The state legislature (R controlled) could have done something to allow some limited cases (incest, rape, etc.) but the D governor would have vetoed.
Lib supreme court candidate campaigned heavily on abortion, which led to a huge college turnout. Conservative candidate was heavily outspent and had a really lousy campaign to boot.
And can you imagine if the Dem Gov. had actually **vetoed** an Abortion Bill that made it possible to get some allowances for Legal Abortions???!!
That could have been screamed from the rooftops.
But the R’s couldn’t even be bothered to take that opportunity??

Next time put up a MAGA candidate, not a RINO GOPe candidate which is what the RINO GOP in WI did. MAGA people stayed home rather than vote for someone who eschewed an endorsement from Trump. How stupid are these people?

and it seems that he gave some kind of real American speech from long ago, and people are falling for him.

Both Federal law and the laws of New York are very explicit in requiring “a criminal indictment” to state in very plain and unambiguous language precisely what “the criminal violation” is, such that anyone could plainly understand it. Which necessarily must include an exact specification of “the greater crime.” But nothing in the submitted text ever actually does so. And, if you cannot do this, “it is not a felony.” It is an expired misdemeanor … if even that.
It is also notable that the actual text of the indictment was “sealed” when there was obviously no valid judicial reason to do so. The only motivation was politics.
Therefore, “a former President of the United States(!)” now stands accused of “unspecified conspiracy,” all of which is supposed to have “influenced an election” that had already occurred. This entirely-bogus charge was then repeated verbatim, 34 times, when it actually consists of only one (alleged) offense. The reasoning for this is also “obviously political.”
This man has committed no crime. But this rogue D.A. most certainly did.
