Their new bill is different. Under the guise of rebuffing Chi-Nah, our Banana Republic operatives now aim to control the entire internet, to include platforms like this one, and criminalize any posts that oppose *their* FAKE news propaganda.

At the time of the original Patriot Act, I had only hazy conceptions of what it was, and considered it absurd that it would be used against innocent, ordinary Americans. I was wrong. We should never let this happen again.
Agreed. I never thought it would be used to attack American citizens either. I trusted our govt then… and am distraught by what it has become. It’s truly quite frightening… and heart breaking.
IIRC, a small number of parties in the “absolutely not, no freaking way!” camp were jumping up and down about it… not the least of which, the ACLU. Then you had an equally small “the Constitution is not a suicide pact!” group on the other side (literally, they used that expression). The loudest of those voices were coming from the floors of the House and Senate, of course.
But I think the vast, vast majority were a bit uneasy about the whole thing, because it required ABSOLUTE TRUST in the U.S. Federal Government (BIG mistake, in hindsight)… while at the same time some people did something in Manhattan that was unlike anything Americans had ever seen before on domestic soil. But even stripping away the Shock And Awe component, it at least came down to “well, I guess we need something“ for the large group, because we realized that this was a devastating sneak attack (your mileage may vary, in hindsight) for which the U.S. was totally unprepared.
By the time USA FREEDOM Act was passed in 2015, the country had already had a healthy dose of debatable, at best, “War On Terror” (Greenwald’s Bread ‘n Butter, BTW), Snowden revelations, Assange, and the rest. So the Government created the PATRIOT Act problem in the early 2000’s… and they were happy to “fix” the problem with the subsequent USA FREEDOM Act ten years later.
If the digital equivalent of the PATRIOT Act is passed and effectuated, then The Republic doesn’t deserve to exist, to be honest. Knowing what we now know… JUST CONSIDERING #TwitterFiles ALONE, FORGET ALL THE OTHER RIDICULOUS STUFF… passing of the RESTRICT Act would be Strike Three against We The People, the supposed protectors of The Republic. OUR FAULT… NOBODY ELSE TO BLAME.

That is a great article which I read after Scott Adams discussed it in one of his great podcasts a few days ago.
Scott Adams has IMO correctly said in his podcasts that DEI is a hunting license for conservatives that actually has nothing to do with race saying that there will probably never be found a true conservative running a DEI department. No matter what the race, if you’re a conservative, your politics are wrong think.
He’s also said that DEI and ESG are kill shots for the Darwinian efficiency of free market capitalism which must be merit-based to work, something he admits hardly exists any more having been replaced with crony capitalism. He agrees with DeSantis who said DEI actually stands for Division, Exclusion, and Indoctrination and, as someone else has said, that CRT stands for Creating Racial Tension.
Merit based just means more money than the rest of them.

I heard this morning that Asa Hutchinson is entering the race today. He has been having a fit and telling Trump to get for several months now. I just wonder if him getting the race will give him more control over the rules, delegates, etc. And the reason I say that is because yesterday I saw a guy on Charlie Kirk’s show saying that he believes that the Republicans will somehow push Trump out by having rules that he can’t be on the ballot in several states. In other words creating new rules just for Trump.
And maybe he has more sway by being in the race, than being on the outside. Maybe the candidates take a vote or something. I don’t know how they will do it, but I smell a rat.
Easy solution. Trump tells them to F off and runs as an Independent, even if that means he likely won’t win. But the Republican party of GOPe and RINOs will have been destroyed.

I THINK their plan is clear.
Even though their is no Constitutional or legal prohibition against him running if under indictment, or even conviction, and even though people have served in various offices post conviction,..they will say;
A POTUS can be impeached and removed for “High crimes and misdemeanors” so obviously a conviction for misdemeanors or felonies is disqualifying.
(it will SEEM “reasonable” to the ignorant, and establishes a false premise).
Therefore, obviously it would be irresponsible to the Party and the Nation, and to all down ballot candidates, for the R party to have as our POTUS candidate, someone who is under indictment, and so if convicted could be impeached.
THIS is the convoluted but “seems reasonable” argument they will try to advance, in order to put R voters in the position of; Vote for RDS, because otherwise Biden wins, and he is WORSE.
And yes, this will lead inexhorably to a final BREAK between the base and the corrupt leadership (thank GOD, at least 60 years overdue!)
And, IF it is percieved as the R party kicking PDJT (and US) out, rather than PDJT and us leaving the party, the resulting Dynamics are quite different.
It was going to happen anyway; the RNC retains authority to determine who can and can’t run as an R and that includes them being able to dictate to the POTUS nominee who they can have for VP.
NO WAY PDJT would accept ANY candidate on the RNC’s list, and no way the RNC would accept any candidate on PDJT’s list (KL).
Absolutely NO compromise on this, from either side.

It is astonishing to me that … no one… ever asks how and where these 10s of millions of mail-in ballots are stored for weeks before being counted. They have weeks to do it and by the time the ballots are stored (uncounted) they have already been separated from their outer identifying envelope.
Many states have sites that permit voters to see that their ballot was received… because election workers record the info on the outer envelope and then put the inner envelope ballot into boxes to be stored until election day. This is insane. There is no way to secure those ballots for so long… yet no one, including the media, ever asks any questions re: the security of uncounted ballots stored for several weeks before election day. Why not?

He never stopped living life each and every day no matter how awful it became exactly how he chose to personally behave to others.
He could not choose what he wore or ate or where he slept or walked but he could choose how he reacted personally to what was around him.
This is something that no one can take from us, and it can drive the liberals crazy if they can not make us unhappy or depressed.

I was in a local Walmart a week ago and noticed they’re only selling the LED bulbs. A package of 4 in the 100 watt category was almost exactly $16 !!! I’m talking about Great Value standard base, screw in light bulbs. The lower wattage LED bulbs were much less, maybe half as much for 40 and 60 watt bulbs.
I have a few friends who switched over to all LED bulbs a few years ago and it seems like LED bulbs do not last as long as what is claimed. Does anyone have any opinions about LED bulbs? Are they resistant to vibration, even mild vibrations? Many incandescent bulbs will fail after being dropped even if the globe didn’t break. The filament breaks. Do LED bulbs have similar problems?
