Good morning Beth! The other day I noticed a picture on our bar. It was of our black lab Chester. He was standing in the middle of a beautiful ranch scenery looking at something that his nose was directing him to. Such a magnificent dog and a great heart. It’s been 25 years since he crossed that bridge but the hole in my heart is still there. So thankful that my bride loves to take pictures though sometimes they make my vision blurry. ❤️😍

Mornin’ JWoo. Just got back on the thread after a long, good talk, with an old friend followed by a classic cheese burger (the kind the don’t hardly make anymore) lunch. Been thinking about your daughter’s schooling. Within the district there is someone or, depending on size, someones responsible for ADA issues. This will probably be a counselor or, better still, a school psychologist or mid level admin.
I think it will be a good idea to find who handles ADA stuff and make sure they know who your daughter is (and also who her mamma bear is). Once she is identified to the school the full weight of ADA law will be behind her. You’d be surprised how effective this can be if another problem occurs. Most, if not all, ADA folks will serve as an advocate for you if the need again arises. Be well, love.

The day’s almost gone, Garrison!! I don’t know where it went…this is what happens when one oversleeps.
I was up at 8:30 this morning. Had a gots-ta-do-it coffee with a dear friend. Don’t know about you, but these kinds of things are best handled by turning off one’s inner and outer clock and just staying in the moment. Good things can almost always result when good friends use their combined intelligence to come up with meaningful solutions. Which we most certainly did. One last lock to get installed before my house will be much more secure. And now it’s after 4! Scheech. Where’d the afternoon go?
I try to turn off my inner clock but I am hardwired… Until the clocks change then I have to get the electricians in to adjust.
Almost there after the last one. But on rising I always like an hour or so to visit this thread with friends and say my good mornings with a post or two.
So glad your locks are in and functioning. Isn’t it a shame that it has come to this? Remembering the days when no one locked up, at least in small towns.

I’ll do some digging into it to see if I can find this person. Like Biden’s term, it’s going to be a long two years to get her through the rest of high school.
Fortunately, whether this sounds crazy or not… I’m not at all concerned about bad actors in the administration trying to torpedo her. For whatever crazy Spiritual juice I’m on… I just believe The Lord Will accomplish that which is His Will for her… and it’s going to be MARVELOUS. I just know it… and so does she. She has this eternal peacefulness that’s just beautiful about her.
She’s now on Spring Breeeeeeak and I’ve been instructed to LET HER SLEEP. (She’s earned some deep recharging.) She’s the only teenager I know that values sleep and goes to bed at a reasonable hour… even early, if she senses her body is demanding it.
Next Wednesday is her 17th birthday and we have plans with another Mom and her daughter to go to The Cake Bake Shop. It is very la-de-dahhhhh… Bets would love it. Very tea party-esque.
So Biden and his band of circus 🤡 🤡 🤡 need to put a cork in it and don’t harsh our buzz!!!

If she has a 2 more years of HS by all means get her formally identified to the school and school district. This is important on multiple levels. It will play an important role in how the college/university she attends views. Even schools with tough admission requirement (like high math scores) provide “reasonable accommodations” for LD students who (like I do—long story) suffer from dyscalculia. I still can’t make change. 🙂 I’m assuming that your daughter has had a neuropsych evaluation? If she has, let’s not talk about the details here. Take care, love.

Understand completely about long and brutal. Good documentation and self-education about ADA law is helpful. Are there support groups nearby? They can be helpful. What carries weight, however, is having a private psychologist or counselor who specifically deals with LD communicate with the school when necessary. The first eval is probably sufficient (you don’t stop being LD, etc.) but, on the psychologist’s recommendation, a second eval might be useful. These next two years will be critically important. I know you’re on top of stuff . . . Ka-ching!
Just talked to a psychologist friend who knows more about n-psys than I do. Since you had the eval done at age 9 their probably is no reason to do it again. Especially, avoid allowing the institution to do its own “eval”.

First Chemo today. She sounded upbeat yesterday. The docs seemed hopeful and now so does she. Chemo now doesn’t take hours, they can push, and the actual injection only takes 15-20 minutes.

They take supplies up to those who are cut off but ok and bring back those who need to leave. And they are still flooding western parts of Porterville to keep the water from topping Success dam. Thanks for praying and thinking about them. Lots of great people are suffering.

Must be a lab Cursday. We’ve had 4 of them over the years and they all were great dogs. All black labs.
My youngest and her family have a black lab. Jet is his name.
Their 3+1 had been wanting one for ever so long, and the day finally came. She sent a long video of their kiddos being led out to see a “homeless puppy” which had found its way into their very large back yard with a huge outbuilding.
“How did he get here?” and “Whose is he?” were just two of the questions these excited young ‘uns were asking.
The explosive joy when they were told he was theirs made my heart burst.
I shall keep that video forever.🤗

Tim Conway was one of the prime writers on the skit comedy show, but he would also have a separate script of what he was actually going to say/do that nobody else had seen until on air. He wanted to see how many of the other actors he could break out of character – particularly Harvey Koreman.
When the country went hard left they outlawed comedy… one of the biggest losses, among others of American culture..sad..☹️

I grew up around dogs almost from birth. When I was just a toddler, my father who was an avid hunter had a wonderfully trained bird dog. Prince was much loved in our family and as soon as I could walk he quickly became my backyard companion. For some reason I developed a liking for his dog food and began sneaking bites here and there when no one was watching. Prince, being a loving companion, didn’t mind at all and so sampling his food became a favorite secret between him and me.
One fall day I was playing in the back yard and started getting cold. I was accustomed to going into Prince’s doghouse to grab a few bites so, as the afternoon turned cold, I crawled in, curled up next to Prince and went to sleep.
I awoke a little later to my mon’s frantic voice calling for me. She’d looked all over and was afraid I was lost. Of course, I wasn’t lot at all—ole’ Prince was curled up around me in his dog house keeping me warm where I’d been toasty warm all afternoon.
On hearing my mom calling for me I calmly crawled out of the doghouse as though taking a afternoon nap with my loving dog companion was the most normal thing in the world. It wasn’t. My mom had been terrified and warned me to never go to sleep in Prince’s doghouse again . . .

Nim, that pictures reminds me of a client of mine, years ago. He us up in years but still an avid hunter. His old hunting dog had just passed away so he got a new puppy, a Brittany Spaniel named Chip, and my client trained him thoroughly to be a bird dog. He took the dog on an inaugural hunt and when the first rifle went off Chip ran under the truck and stayed there the whole time. My client was mad as a hornet but kept the dog. Chip had a good loving home for the rest of his life and never went bird hunting again.

Yes he is. You know in the days of Knights in Armor the horses they rode looked more like that than the thoroughbreds they are often depicted on today. They had to be stout horses to carry the weight of the armor of both the knight and the armor that they were fitted with.

To understand horses you must be able to read their body language. Watch them communicate with other horses.
Donkeys exude attitude most of the time. That particular person hasn’t an iota of respect from those donkeys in that vid.
At some point one will bite or kick him since they view him as lower on the pecking order in the herd. Not may, one will.
To get respect from equines you must get them to move. Simple as that, whoever moves away first is the loser and lower in the herd pecking order. You do NOT have to be abusive to get a horse to move, you only need to irritate it with a flag or moving rope or whatnot.
Donkeys are not to be trifled with by those ignorant of their ways and manner. Still they kill fewer people in the USA than horses or cows or even dogs or deer.
(BTW the deadliest critter in the world? The mosquito…….around 1 million deaths/year worldwide)
Apparently a new disease delivering mosquito has been discovered in Florida…where they released all those genetically engineered ones by the millions.

They released those damnable gmo mosquitos here in Tulare County too! I now DAILY empty all outside critter water bowls, buckets, etc. to avoid them breeding here. Our normal daily temps would have us now in the low – mid 70s if not for the never ending rain. When it quits raining there is going to be standing water everywhere for quite some time. (Our soil is clay, very heavy clay that is like dry concrete – very little permeates it)
I have been thinking about those mosquitos and also that we have West Nile here. Sadly, one of my best friends died of West Nile about 2 and a half years ago.
I smelled a rat from the beginning, patty. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. A Bill Gates connected project if I remember correctly.

You’re absolutely correct.
When I was little, about 9-10, I would take every opportunity to go to some stables about half a mile from my house along the Kern River. I would get there early, by 7 am, and would help Irma, the owner, feed and get ready for the day. (She even taught me how to milk her cow.)
Irma was highly respected in the community and many people seeking horses for their kids would go to Irma. She would find them horses and then break/train them. She was like a horse whisperer long before there was such a thing.
I would do anything I could to help Irma and in return she allowed me to ride one of her horses. It was heaven. She also taught me how to break/train horses. She started by taking a horse from one pasture and putting it into another pasture and having me watch their interactions and then to mimic them.
Then one magical day my folks took me down to the stables and showed me my new horse. I named him Joey. He was a registered Morgan, 18 months old. He had been born wild, lived in a wild herd, on several thousand acres of land. The guy who owned the Morgans lost his lease on the land so they were all sold at auction.
Since he was only 18 months old I had about 6 months of working with him before I could think about riding him. With Irma’s advice, I broke him and trained him all by myself. By the end of my first year with him I could ride him with no saddle, no bridle, just verbal commands and leg and hand pressure.
One of the top experiences of my life.

Disunity is caused by those who separate themselves from the Holy Spirit. When we talk together about the things of the days, in light of the word of God; we are fellowshipping with the Father and with the Lord Jesus: for while we are processing together, in a single heart and soul, what God is showing us; herein we are actively working out the inspiration of the Spirit of God between us. If it is then in these very things, that we are fulfilling His commandment to love one another; then it must follow, that He will confirm His word, with signs following. In Mark 16:15-18, “These signs shall follow them that believe . . . ” do not, and will never follow them that shun their brother or sister for speaking the truth; and will not engage in fellowship in the Spirit at all.
There is no power in the churches, nor with individual Christians, when there is continuing sin against known commandments of God. There will be no personal victory over sin, or Holy Spirit revelations, as long as natural thoughts, and the things highly esteemed of men, still preside over the will. “Unless someone takes leave of all the things he possesses, he cannot be My disciple . . . You cannot serve God AND (together at the same time) mammon.”
John 13:35 “By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another.”
After all the hard work, and so many afflictions and persecutions endured, for the sake of bringing the word of God to the people of Asia Minor, and Greece, and the regions about those places; it is a shameful and grievously unworthy recompense paid to Paul, when he was forced to say with tears and great pain in his heart; “I have no man like-souled, who will naturally care for the things of Jesus Christ; but all seek their own things.” One brother or sister burns themselves out, at both ends and in the middle, for Jesus, and for the sake of the souls they are sent to speak to; and the response is silence and standing aloof and just going about their usual things, indifferent and unaffected. When they all know, that what we do to the least of these, we do to Jesus Himself; somehow they think it doesn’t mean them, and certainly not about “that one” whom they don’t like!
God is searching the hearts and minds of all men, and He comes first to those of His own household; to see and make sure all are ready for what He is about to do. But if they aren’t doing the least, and in fact the easiest, of what He says; how does anyone expect to survive and come out victorious in the BIG trial about to be full go in the action? Remember, that the last church of the seven, was so named, because they were what the Lord wanted us to understand as His last word for all of us. And that word was, “But because you are lukewarm, tepid, and neither cold nor hot; I am going to vomit you out of My mouth, unless you repent!”
All of the Lord’s messages to the churches were most important for us, coming into these times; but this last message, was the last message for good reason: that the abounding of lawlessness not make your love grow cold; AND, that your fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness, and the deadness and indifference of your stepped over conscience, not render you tasteless salt; and absolutely useless for showing His power and compassion to this most needy and urgent of times.
Reading Psalms this morning and thought this was perfect for the new day.
Psalm 51:10-Create in me a new heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clean conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things. – Hebrews 13:18
“Pray for us.” It is a phrase commonly repeated in the New Testament, especially from the apostles who were sent forth by Jesus into the world to proclaim the Gospel of salvation and make disciples. Paul asked for prayer as he was met by persecution at almost every turn. In His final hours, Jesus asked His inner circle to pray for Him, His suffering had become so great.
Prayer is a mystery. God knows all things, yet He desires the communion with you, and that is through prayer. The Israelites prayed individually giving praise and thanksgiving to God, as well as supplications and intercessions for others. They offered corporate prayers for their well-being as a nation and a people of God, as well as prayers for protection and guidance, and confession of their sins both as a nation and individually.
While still on Earth, Jesus prayed for His disciples, and then for you, Believer, as recorded in John 17, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (vv. 20-22).
You have the Holy Spirit within you today to help you know what and how to pray. Jesus Christ is your mediator with the Father who will answer the believer’s prayer. For those in darkness, prayer can seem a meaningless exercise. Regardless of the state of public officials’ faith, ask God to draw their hearts and minds to Him so that they know the Lord and His truth.

Thank you Poyeema. While I was reading your post I thought of how the LORD was telling Abraham about His having to go see what was going on with Sodom; that it turned into a prayer session. It makes me think, that the Lord comes to show us things, as He talks to His friends; and He wants to discuss it with us, and hear our opinion and intercessions, as they would be appropriate.
Jesus urged His friends the disciples to stay awake and pray, on account of the danger of the hour they were come to; while Jesus prayed until He was sweating great drops of blood in agony. Our Lord and Savior has very grave things that He has to do; and He looks for some to have pity with Him, and be “like-souled” for the things He cares about.

My first week of “retirement”.
I had planned on retiring in October, but an illness in the family changed that. And so now I am working full time getting signed up for SS, Medicare, selecting a plan, rolling over a 401K into an IRA, and figuring out how to keep from getting raped by taxes on an inheritance coming to me through a trust that consists of various forms of revenue/property and arranging investments.
I guess those are all good problems, but to quite frank, I would rather be driving a truck today!.
I went to the SS office and figured I would just sign up there. Due to our Federal Government being a dysfunctional basket case since COVID, they could not sign me up. They do not have the workers to do it they say. So the options are:
Do it online or wait until May 5th for a telephone conference in which I would be signed up.
So today I sign up for SS and MC via on line and yesterday I set up an appointment from a United Health Care rep for Monday to get my wife and I set up on the Medicare plan I have selected. She can go on the plan right away, having been retired for some time, but I have to wait for my MC application to be processed and so will probably have to go on COBRA for a month before I get the Medicare coverage.
Of all the places this truck driver has gone since December, the SS office and the hospital are the ONLY places I have gone into in that time where masks are still required.
I Love my country but hate my government!
Congratulations on your retirement Rah, in time you will wonder how you ever found the time for work. In SW Missouri the hospitals and clinics (which are mostly owned by the hospitals) finally did away with the mask mandates.

You may recall that my lovely old widow neighbor that lived in the next house to the south from ours, passed away while I was in Florida. Phillis will be missed. She now lies next to her husband Hank in the cemetery of the church they both attended less than a mile north of us.
Our home and the one to the north where Steve and Betty live and the one that Phillis lived in to the south were all built by the same family. The Mother and Father lived in the one Steve and Betty have. Sherry and I live in the house their oldest son had built by the same people the built the house that Steve and Betty live in.
Phillis was their daughter and when Hank and Phillis got married after Hank came home from WW II, they built the house to the south of us. It is a three bedroom brick house on an acre of with a two car detached garage connected to the house by a covered walkway that is also the back patio of the house.
My oldest Granddaughter, Corbin, and her husband, Jason, want it. They want to move in next to us. He is about to get out of the Army on full disability. She is headed for a masters degree in Psychology. They should be able to afford the house using a VA loan.
I think it would be great for them to move in next to us. So I gave them the number to Phillis’ oldest son who is going to handle the sale of the house. He told them they would have priority for buying it.
It is of course of the style built in the early early 50s. Small rooms with 8′ ceilings. But they don’t seem to mind at all. Corbin, lived with us for a couple years and Jason has stayed here with Corbin also and they both love our house.

No natural man knows anything about carnality. The flesh lusting against the Spirit that came in at regeneration, and the Spirit lusting against the flesh, produces carnality. “Walk in the Spirit,” says Paul, “and ye shall not fulfil the lusts of the flesh”; and carnality will disappear.
Are you contentious, easily troubled about trifles? “Oh, but no one who is a Christian ever is!” Paul says they are, he connects these things with carnality. Is there a truth in the Bible that instantly awakens petulance in you? That is a proof that you are yet carnal. If sanctification is being worked out, there is no trace of that spirit left.
If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong, He does not ask you to put it right; He asks you to accept the light, and He will put it right. A child of the light confesses instantly and stands bared before God; a child of the darkness says – “Oh, I can explain that away.” When once the light breaks and the conviction of wrong comes, be a child of the light, and confess, and God will deal with what is wrong; if you vindicate yourself, you prove yourself to be a child of the darkness.
What is the proof that carnality has gone? Never deceive yourself; when carnality is gone it is the most real thing imaginable. God will see that you have any number of opportunities to prove to yourself the marvel of His grace. The practical test is the only proof. “Why,” you say, “if this had happened before, there would have been the spirit of resentment!” You will never cease to be the most amazed person on earth at what God has done for you on the inside.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Yesterday I mentioned the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO). It is still in its positive (warm) phase.
However it has apparently peaked and has been stair stepping down. But with the AMO in the warm phase and an on coming El Nino, I anticipate the alarmist hype will continue for some time to come. But their hay day has really already passed and in 20 years or so the UN and government line will no doubt start a transition to a scare about a coming Ice Age as we saw in the late 1970s and early 80s. It remains to be seen what human cause they will try to blame that on.
The Irony is that by the time the kids they are working so hard to scare to death about the future of the planet and mankind due to warming will be middle age adults when the colder conditions come.
We are still in an ice age. We Homo sapiens are best adapted to a warmer climate, unlike the Neanderthals, which were adapted to a colder climate. The progress of human kind has come in starts and spurts, and every one of the spurts corresponds to the warmer periods in our history.

The kiddo had her invitational last night. She was included in a three-way tie for 4th place in the competition. She is on the Social Studies team. There’s only 5 kids on her team and three of those tied for 4th place in the Social Studies portion amongst all schools’ rankings.
Surprisingly, I learned that there was a book she could have been studying from… that 2 out of those 3 fourth-ranked kids don’t have… and another kid who did not rank. I have summarily ordered three of those books which will be delivered tomorrow by 10 PM – for those participants so that they have something tactile to study with to help them improve. (I wonder how they would have done if they had had that material prior to competition last night!!! Grrrrrr!!!!)
My kiddo has been studying by “googling” data, which seems to me not a very narrow focus of data dissemination. Plus, my kiddo likes to underline important facts while committing them to memory – so I’m confident she will improve her ranking with this additional aide and continue bolstering her team and her school overall.
Wish I would have known about the book before last night! (Sigh.)
That said… there is something to study for… because the school placed FIRST last night at the invitational and will be going on to their Area Competition in April and then, hopefully on to State!!! Waaaaahhhhh hooooo.
Kiddo wore her Tiger pride jersey shirt with her cross necklace respectfully presented to the public. She and another gal were able to hold the trophy for the group picture. (Guess I have to buy that $100 year book now… ha ha!)
Thanks for your prayers and well wishes supporting her. I found out last night that of the four teacher coaches for the academic teams, another teacher who I go round and round with protecting and asserting our faith – is the head of the English team. So, 2 out of the 4 coaches have had issues about our faith.
My daughter perseveres anyway and she stepped up and rocked it with her team last night. Very, very proud of her. That competition went on for 4 hours! Why they don’t run 4 different rooms with one skillset competing in each room simultaneously – I just don’t know? Math goes last and those kids must be so tired waiting. But, as with physical competition – part of the agility is the mental stamina.
Learn, teach (equip), protect, defend, and assert. For us, that means Constitution and Faith.

Joan, I can feel your excitement and justifiable pride in this achievement. What a joy it is to see the faces of those who persevere especially when they’ve been handicapped by the lack of books which could have helped them go further.
What an inspiring mother you are, my sister. Is there anything we wouldn’t do to support our children, to keep them on the very narrow road off which too many fall as they edge towards managing their own lives in a world which itself deliberately turns its face from Almighty God?
Can’t wait to hear about the Area competition! Samantha will go into it more prepared and confident thanks to her devoted, wise mother.

She was so excited last night, she couldn’t sleep.
They announced over their intercom today the competition win and streamed the pictures into their rooms during third period.
Then announced birthdays for Spring Break week which included hers. And they pronounced her last name correctly which never happens. She was over the moon.
(Not to sound picky, I promise, but she’s Savannah… the last name will stay a mystery…. for there is zero anonymity in it. If one hears it anywhere… it is definitely our kin. Very unique name and all of them… for better or worse….are ours.)

I have a dear friend who rides his fancy BMW motorcycle through those places. I think he’s insane. They got into a real bad way one time and bikes went flying and they were marooned. Made for a harrowing couple of days.
