Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

“If it fits, I sits”
Happy Caturday, Leon
This reminds me of my Dad’s pet goose (Mr. McGoose) who use to steal Dad’s tools while he was working on a truck —or the motor home.
Dad would be on his back tinkering with whatever needed fixing. McGoose would waddle over, check out the toolbox, and pilfer one tool at a time.
Dad’s response, “Bring that back, you buzzard!”
🧰 🛠 🦆
I miss both of those old boys!
What every respectable cat should be doing on a Saturday
I on the other hand??
Take what you can get , right Bett.
Have a great day buddy.
I wish it was warmer
Gonna be outside most of the day
Ta ta for now
☘️🌸☘️
Bless-ed morning, dear friend. Enjoy your beautiful day😊
Absolutely hilarious Betsy..🤣🤣👍…LMAO …
🇺🇸💪😀👍
😁👍🏻!!!
🤭😊😄😂🤣😂 😎
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Mornin’ jay 🙂
Howdy Garrison 🙂
Mornin’, Mr jay. Photographic art at its finest. Beautiful.
Mornin’ Bet. 🙂
Morning, Garrison. Hoping you got a restful sleep in spite of the unwelcome intrusion. 😘
Maidin Mhaith Betsy, wish I was there. I had an Uncle that used to plan sunrise and sunset trips to beautiful spots to spend a little time. Some good adventures became of those days. 🇺🇸😁🇺🇸
Those memories are so precious. Your uncle obviously knew the value of peace…and where and when to find it.💕
Watching sunsets is pretty easy to do. You do have to return in the dark, but you already found the way in the light.
Watching sunrise means getting up early and traipsing through the dark to find the right spot. May even take days of repeating just to find a view such as sun peaking through trees and over hills so that you can find darkness between the sun and its sunlight.
Add spending hours outside in the cold and the damp waiting, and you know why I don’t hunt.
One of the reasons I did hunt ducks… to watch sun rise , cold am, hot coffee, my Lab, Sue, sitting next to me… you could stop time right there and I’d be fine..😀👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
🙂 🙂
Used to hunt and fish with that Uncle quite a bit everything from Moose to Quail, one of the reasons we saw the sun rising and setting so much.
Most of us live close to some of America’s natural beauty my suggestion is get out and see it. 🙂 😉
A Light shining in the darkness – always captivating…
Like our Father above 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
Amen, jay!
Always beautiful, Jay 1776. Hugs to you brother.
Morning Jay.
Howdy 🤠
I just learned from griever’s post on OT 3/10 yesterday why some user names on here are black and some are blue!
I had wondered why the comment box asked for a website in addition to user name and email, and when griever mentioned that clicking on his user name linked to an essay it all clicked! So I started scrolling and hovering and, sure enough, blue names are not linked to anything and black names are clickable and link to an outside website of the user’s choice. All y’all probably already knew it, but just in case I thought I’d share…
And it was a good essay, griever!😊
Mornin, Precious . . . 🙂
☺️
News to me, I only posted a website once didn’t see a difference…. have to try it again if I have anything to post there.
Right now one of my empties of unused business names only holds a couple of meme’s and disqus for testing purposes for a karaoke club site.
Have to go back and look for griever’s essay…. thanks for the heads up.
😊
Well thank you, Precious. I couldn’t figure it out. Now I shall go back and read.
☺️
Hey Garrison, nice music.
🙂
Superb choice, Garrison.. and a perfect complement to my morning coffee.
🙂
Good morning, Garrison. Hahn is a superb violinist. This work stands all by itself. Excellent.
Agreed. I came to classical music in my 20’s via our campus radio station. Always enjoyed Sibelius. 🙂
He was a composer I came to late, as I have, for example, Mahler and Prokokiev.
The one of Sibelius’s I never liked is perhaps the one he is most known for…Finlandia.
And I know the reason.
When I was a child and playing the piano, my teacher signed me up for a group playing that piece at Texas Tech University. I was a shy little thing (I know…hard to believe) and was overwhelmed by the experience. Brings back uncomfortable memories.
But barring that one, I do enjoy his works very much.
Garrison: Wow. I marvel at how some people has such extreme talent. Where does it come from?
Good evening, Garrison,
Special prayers for a hedge of protection for you and your property and your piece of mind.
Did I read that you may have a kitty who’s trying to adopt you? No chances he or she is making herself / himself at home and “helping you out” by moving your things? (Wishful thinking on my part that it be something so simple and obscure.)
Praying for your piece brother and that you never have to use your piece in self defense. Peace to you, brother, in Jesus’s Holy and Saving Name, AMEN
Thanks, love. My house is much better secured now, although I’m still replacing worn but still working locks (some are multiple decades old). The little kitty hasn’t been around. I’ve put out food but he/she’s still a no-show. I’m hoping she went home or found a good home. If she comes around again she’s very welcome here. Definitely thinking about getting a good dog.
I’m upvoting the dog. A faithful friend can be uplifting in times of sorrow or concern. Or maybe you foster with your local humane society and help give shelters space while awaiting good placements? Might be fun and heartwarming project without huge commitment…
My statement above meant to read that I was praying for your PEACE… fatigue brain but you’re incredibly intuitive so I knew you would get my gist.
“You are very polite, Human-San”

Happy Caturday, y’all – traffic in the Bay Area will be a little tied up for a while
The squirrel’s busy…
“Good day, Madam or Sir. I’m just checking on your extended auto warranty…
That squirrel is either retarded or has big hairy testicles, or both!
Or shocked to find a squatter😁
Clearly he hasn’t read ‘The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin’ and what became of his tail after pestering an owl.
We actually have a squirrel which comes to feed and which has no tail. The lack of one doesn’t seem to hamper him in the least.
Heh!
Is it wrong that I just snagged this and sent it to a buddy……..who has ADHD?
Reminds me of a cat with a piece of string sticking out both ends. Every attempt to ease it out either end caused severe distress. Only thing I could do was cut off the ingoing side to shorten the distress.
Jim, we had a similar incident but with a piece of thread hanging out of our cat’s mouth.
Didn’t know whether it was a small piece or more he had swallowed. Thankfully he was docile so we started working it out very slowly.
It was not just a small piece. Over 6 feet long. Had we grabbed and pulled, it would have lacerated and killed him. To this day we have no idea where he got it.
It was wrapping ribbon with our cat. My brother pulled a tube sock out of the rear of his Doberman years ago.
Good grief!!!!
Whoa, tough problem to solve!
We had a cute Siamese kitten once. He walked by me with something sticking out of his rear end.
On closer examination it was……..one end of a broken rubber band.
One of those small, snappy rubber bands……
I grabbed some tissue, persuaded the kitten to come to me, and tried to grab the rubber band with the tissue.
Of course, he was more than a little surprised and uncomfortable at that, but nowhere NEAR as surprised and uncomfortable as he was when that piece of rubber band slipped out of the tissue, and my grasp, with an impressively audible *SNAP*!
The kitten just vanished!
I mean, he was there and then he was GONE!
When I finally found him again, round two was a little stressful for the both of us.
One thing about it though, that was the LAST rubber band he ever ate.
He lived to a very ripe old age, and I miss him.
💕
3/10/2023 – New Wine is to be put into New Skins
Luke 5:36-39 “And He spoke a parable to them, No one puts a piece of a new garment upon an old garment; otherwise the new he rends, and with the old does not agree the piece which is from the new. And no one puts new wine into old skins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine is to be put into new skins, and both are preserved together. Also no one having drunk the old [wine] immediately desires the new; for he says the old is better.”
1 Peter 3:21-22 “Which figure now also saves us [even] baptism, not of the flesh a putting away of filth, but demand of a good conscience towards God, through resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers having been subjected to Him.”
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity. God has made Him who knew no sin to bear the sin of the world, sacrificing Himself unto death, for completing the righteousness of God upon man’s sin. And having completely fulfilled the demand of death for sin, He revived and stood up again, alive for ever without sin for us: so that we who were once alienated and enemies in our mind by lawless works; are now reconciled and released from the prison of our old nature, and all its chains of cruel bondage; and have now imparted to us the pledge and security of the divine nature in the power of His resurrection.
Our Jesus is not still hanging dead on the cross, nor still lying entombed in death; and neither are we who believe and obey Him. What has taken place is completed in the overcoming of the grave; and we therefore are God’s witnesses, that His Son has finished the work He sent Him to do: we are the substance of God’s hopes in Christ, and the evidence of Jesus having ascended to the right hand of God. You cannot take a piece of the New and put it with the old; for the old will not be able to support the New, and the tear will be made worse; and the old will not agree with the New. Next to that, no one cuts out a piece of a new garment to put on an old one; but the old one has to be discarded for the whole new one.
John 8:34-36 “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be really free.”
The demand of a good conscience towards God cannot be met by trying to patch up the old life, and the unsaved nature. You cannot cut out pieces of what you might think fit, to repair the worn out, and faded, and tattered, man of this present evil world; by taking the parts you like out of being a Christian. You will not be able to hold it together; and even the smallest piece of the Christian life can never agree with the old. You have to discard the old, and take the whole New Life of the power of the risen Christ.
You cannot put living fermenting new wine into old, already used up, stretched and dried up hardened skins. You cannot contain the New Life of the Spirit in your old nature: for something will have to give in and yield to the power and force of the New Eternal Life; and the old nature will burst under the pressure, and the New Life wasted, and the man destroyed. You must be Born Again, or you cannot see or enter into the kingdom of God.
But there are many rapacious wolves disguised as sheep, who have come in stealthily; whose motive is to devour the sheep.
In the Tenth Psalm, the godly are in anguish because the LORD stands afar off, and hides Himself in times of trouble. Meanwhile the wicked in pride persecutes the poor, and boasts in the covetousness of his heart, and abhorring the LORD. As we continue reading, we see that those same ones are sitting in the lurking places of the city, in secret (unseen) places murdering the innocent: his eyes are hiding themselves set against the poor. “He lies in wait as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he does catch the poor, when he draws them into his net. He crouches and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones. He has said in his heart, God has forgotten: He hides His face; He will never see it.” (Psalm 10:8-11)
Such are false apostles, false prophets, false teachers; which themselves have forsaken the way of truth, and are made instruments of Satan, to wage war on the saints, by perverting the Scriptures, slandering the Spirit of Truth, and bold-faced openly denying the Power of the Gospel of Christ. With well turned words and sleight of hand they teach the sons and daughters of God to worship idols and commit fornication; promising them absolution, and an irrevocable free pass to NOT keep God’s commandments, and yet come to eternal life. In short, they teach in direct contradiction and defiance of the law of Christ; essentially saying, that you still have, (and can never be freed from), your old nature of sin, and the alienated heathen mind; and have the New Life at the same time.
They basically tell the unlearned and unstable, who are gullible and already open to such suggestions, that they can only sew on pieces of the Christian Life to their lives; and no matter how badly, and how regularly it fails, they keep telling them to still do the same things, (hoping futilely for a different result); even while they are being torn to worthless shreds, and cannot find agreement or peace between true Christianity and their real life experiences.
If we set this alongside what it means to be Baptized into Christ; its like they want to stay submerged in death and burial, and never actually come up out of the water a New Creation in the Power of the resurrection, and the answer of God’s demand of a good conscience. How do we get and maintain “love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith without hypocrisy (stage-playing)?” By coming to God in the way He has prescribed, with a true heart and full assurance of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and His perfect and complete work, on the cross, being put to death and buried, and rising again the third day and received at the right hand of God above all; by having real faith in the power of God’s words, and their manifestation through the Spirit by grace.
Psalm 119:9-11 “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to Thy word. With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.”
“The power of Pentecost as it came at first came to loose men. God wants us free on every line. Men and women are tired of imitations; they want reality; they want to see people who have the living Christ within, and are filled with Holy Ghost power.” – Smith Wigglesworth
I was baptized as an infant in my church. I kind of wish I had been able to choose this for myself based on a calling or at least a knowledge of the Gospel. I did choose Confirmation. I didn’t really feel I knew the true love of God and our savior, Jesus Christ until I was older and had a child of my own. Then I knew what that sacrifice would be like and what the love for a child could feel like. Also, how sin can truly ruin a life and lead to despair. When you are young you can think you know things, but until they hit you in your gut, you don’t really know.
I believe that baptism is something we are commanded to do as part of the repentance and conversion process. I can only guess how the tradition of baby baptisms started; probably to ensure they’d be saved, no matter what happened the rest of their lives? Anyway, I think you see that yourself, that convictions have to come from a place of understanding. And the way you talk, there’s no doubt that you believe in Jesus, and think deeply about what your salvation means, and have made a choice to seek the Lord while He may be found.
All I knew when I was “young” (nice way to put it), was nothing much for certain! My Mom told us when we were just barely kindergarten age, that We’re Jews, and Jews don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. My dad wasn’t however, but was raised as a young child in the Baptist Church; until at some point they became Freemasons. Whatever . . . there was NO religion in our house; but we were still expected to know what was right and wrong; and, that we were also expected to always do wrong! So you can imagine, we were pretty lost; and with our parents only holding it together for our sake, and would divorce just as soon as I was eighteen; we had to look for our spiritual guidance and purpose in life with the friends we found, and the popular culture that permeated the air in Southern California.
I didn’t really hear the Gospel till I was about seventeen or eighteen. It has been a wonder to me, how so many who have been blessed with growing up with the Bible, have such a hard time identifying with those who didn’t. I mean, if you read it and understand the points the Lord is teaching; it has to make you think about all those things.
I am paraphrasing the following, which I love very much…
Attacking me for my past life is like looking for me at my old house…I don’t live there anymore.
Solid.
I like that, Betsy, thank you for posting it.
It says everything, Greg. So much in those few words. You are most welcome.😊
🙂 I like that!
It dos hurt when things from a long time ago are brought up again and again just to make you feel bad, and so the other one can “have the last word!”
I think anyone who has really known what its like to need forgiveness and cleansing and reconciliation, can never do that to someone.
Thanks Betsy. I hope you’re well and have a good rest of the day.

THE SONG OF SIMEON
Near the end of the service, after we have received Communion, we sing, “Lord, now lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace.” This is followed by brief blessings, thanksgiving, and final amens.
The song of Simeon, which we sing, is described in the Gospel of Luke:
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against …
Good morning Treepers

Look at her eyes! She is very keyed up! She looks scared!
True. Looks like she (or he?) went on hyper-alert status.
Good morning Michael.
Good afternoon Sir.

Good morning, Joe. Two is best, said the woman who once subscribed to the “Cat Lady’s Starter Kit Company” 😎💕
Good morning, Bet. Up again after sleeping a few more hours. Thought I heard rain when I woke up, but it was just the heater. It’s turning into a routine of getting up, let the big girls out, turn on the coffee pot, then turning on the laptop. Drink coffee, scroll, repeat.
Smokey climbed up on the bed again, and rubbed his face on mine. No problem, except for the claws which are like needles. He likes to knead. I have to keep his paws away from my face.
I’ve been known to tolerate the claws when kneading. A lot of wincing and grimacing. No face though😬
I find a lot of comfort in routine, Joe. Some want a different day every day. Not I. The simple life suits me just fine. So same. Tea first, read through this beautiful thread, get myself presentable or as close to it as I can, then coffee, followed by whatever needs doing for the day. 😊
VISION
“I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision.” Acts xxvi. 19
If we lose the vision, we alone are responsible, and the way we lose the vision is by spiritual leakage. If we do not run our belief about God into practical issues, it is all up with the vision God has given. The only way to be obedient to the heavenly vision is to give our utmost for God’s highest, and this can only be done by continually and resolutely recalling the vision. The test is the sixty seconds of every minute, and the sixty minutes of every hour, not our times of prayer and devotional meetings.
“Though it tarry, wait for it.” We cannot attain to a vision, we must live in the inspiration of it until it accomplishes itself. We get so practical that we forget the vision. At the beginning we saw it but did not wait for it; we rushed off into practical work, and when the vision was fulfilled, we did not see it. Waiting for the vision that tarries is the test of our loyalty to God. It is at the peril of our soul’s welfare that we get caught up in practical work and miss the fulfilment of the vision.
Watch God’s cyclones. The only way God sows His saints is by His whirlwind. Are you going to prove an empty pod? It will depend on whether or not you are actually living in the light of what you have seen. Let God fling you out, and do not go until He does. If you select your spot, you will prove an empty pod. If God sow you, you will bring forth fruit.
It is essential to practice the walk of the feet in the light of the vision.

Good Saturday to you, dear sis.
I’m leaving something for you as I know you like horns (and I assume French horns).
This is Richard Strauss’s Second Horn Concerto. It is a massive favourite of mine, especially the third movement, especially the magnificent finish of the third movement.
Strauss’s father was a professional French horn player. Strauss wrote his first horn concerto for him. He was only 18 when he wrote it. And poignantly, he wrote the second at the age of 81 right before he passed away.
So a little story about how I came to adore it…
There is a yearly competition broadcast in Britain called “Young Musician of the Year”. The youngsters who compete are incredibly talented, and the bar set is very high. Many who have won have gone on to be great performers whose names are well known by those who, like me, thrive on classical music.
One year a 14 year old lad by the name of David Pyatt, a horn player, tackled this extremely difficult work. His performance was perfection; and at the finish the always staid audience (which sits and applauds each performer) rose to their feet as one and cheered the rafters. It was a masterful and unexpected tour de force. Of course this young man took First Prize, then went on to play with many, many well known orchestras after.
Blessed be your weekend, sweet friend.💕
All right you two, cat out the horseplay!
Oh my….content with one another’s company. Just sweet, WP. 💕

https://www.desiringgod.org/interviews/does-the-bible-say-true-christians-never-sin
This very short, well thought out, scholarly, and SCRIPTURALLY accurate devotional is from the bottom of my joy filled heart.
Hope each of you savor it!
Yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaww! 🤘✝️🤘
Frank, thanks for posting this. I read this and savored it. It is what I’ve been taught for the last 20 years, since returning to church.
Safe travels.
BTW, Matthew 18:15 is another acknowledgement that Christians actually do sin.
Trying to force it as a point of whether we have to keep our bodies under, into doctrine that we all sin all the time, etc… denying Everything that Jesus has done for us to deliver us from all our bondage to sin and the cruel mastery of the devil. When we are tempted to sin, we remember the commandments and do not sin!
In the law it was provided for sins of ignorance to have a sacrifice and forgiveness; once the sin has been brought to light and repented of! After that it is expected that the commandments will be obeyed! The Lord’s kindness and compassion is not for us to just accept that we are failures, but to still offer us a hand up to CLIMB OUT OF IT, AND STOP DOING IT!
What is the problem? The problem as I see it, and have experienced first hand, is that when the leadership has fallen back into old sins of uncleanness and perversion, and they do not repent and get delivered, then they will for sure be used by the devil to bring down others by the same evil lying spirits.
“These things I write to you, THAT YOU SIN NOT! he that sins IS OF THE DEVIL!”
Peter was used by the devil to tell Jesus He was not going to the cross to redeem us; and when he was rebuked, and had to learn the hard way, he repented. Peter never taught that Christians sin. Jesus never taught that His disciples sin. Men that keep sinning teach that Christians sin.
What has to happen in the heart of those who sin presumptuously, out of contempt for the commandment, for God to forgive them? REPENTANCE!
Romans 2:4 “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
Romans 11:22 “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.”
Isn’t that what will surprise the hypocrites, when they come to the closed door, and hear the Lord tell them, I never knew you; Depart from me you workers of lawlessness? But those who DO ALL THAT JESUS SAYS, these shall never have occasion to stumble, and will be welcomed into the Presence of God.
Safe journey, dear Frank. Road trips are good. Excited to hear about your and Rhonda’s newest.
“… fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
Philippians 3:20-21
English Standard Version
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
Based on all the headlines, I’m double extra thankful for my “citizenship” in glory land, cuz merica ain’t cuttin’ it. 🙏✝️🙏
Me, too, Frank. Thanks for verse!
Reminds me of something Elisabeth Elliot once said:
“Heaven is not here, it’s there.
If we were given all we wanted here,
our hearts would settle for this world
rather than the next.
God is forever luring us up and away from this one,
wooing us to Himself and His still invisible Kingdom,
where we will certainly find what we so keenly long for.”
Good morning, Della. Her words have a comforting Spurgeon or Chesterton feel to them.🙏🏻💕
So beautiful…so hopeful.
They prompted me to remember those of Spurgeon’s which I left for Frank.
Good morn to you, Betsy, hope you had restful night.
Elisabeth ministered powerfully to me for number of years.
Got to attend an event in GA years ago where she spoke.
Loved her (and still) and her ministry so much. 💕
Off to “Wallet-mart” in a bit for those necessary items!
🥰 🌸
Wallet-Mart indeed! Trip last week caused me to almost burst into tears at checkout. Cheaper no longer.
I had a larger than usual cart, went to checkout, only to discover no tills open. Took me longer to check out, bag, and pay than it did to actually do the shopping. Discounts should be automatic for that.
“Jesus! it is the name which moves the harps of heaven to melody. Jesus! the life of all our joys. If there be one more charming, more precious than another, it is this name.
It is woven into the very warp and woof of our psalmody. Many of our hymns begin with it, and scarcely any, that are good for anything, end without it. It is the sum total of all delights.
It is the music with which the bells of heaven ring; a song in a word; an ocean for comprehension, although a drop for brevity; a matchless oratorio in two syllables; a gathering up of the hallelujahs of eternity in five letters.”

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.
C. S. Lewis
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’

Good morning, Molon!
I’m in the FIRST camp – Your will be done in my life, Lord. I do not want mine!
That’s trouble. With a capital T.
🌸 🌸
Good morning Della
I’m out in the back yard doin what I do.
I noticed some new friends have arrived.
Baltimore Orioles
They all of a sudden showed up today.
Have a good one .
Im giving everyone a bath.
They need it.
☘️🌸☘️
Sounds like nice day – doin what you do!
Love those spring feathered friends…
Give ‘em a bubble bath, whether they need it or not!
😂 🌸
I have an Audobon lithograph, with colour, of Baltimore Orioles and their nest. They are so stunning.
Try not to get too wet.😁
We are unexpectedly granddog sitting. Her “mom” asked if we would keep her for Saturday night. The Mags, as we call her (Maggie) is no problem at all.
But my daughter’s plans, as she said, took on a life of their own…so we had her last night as well. She is a poodle crossed with something else not sure what.
Thankfully she had been to the hairdressers, so is clean, trimmed, and proper.
Good morning, dear molon💕
I have been searching for Lewis’s second quote, unable to find it for some reason. His writings are bounteous. Thank you.
Because in the depth of me, as we stand and watch in abject horror all which swirls around us, I wonder more and more if we have reached this point Lewis writes of.
“All right, then, have it your own way.”
Are there any more fearsome words?
Dearest Father, Abba Father, we beg, do not turn Your Face from us. Take not Thy Holy Spirit from us. 🙏🏻
Oh, Betsy, you hit the nail …
Thought about your question: Are there any more fearsome words?
Maybe?
”I did it my way.”
Didn’t Frank Sinatra sing that? Wonder how it turned out for him…
Good news, tho, for believers in Christ – He will never leave us or forsake us.
A blessed thought.
Funny…that song pops into my head every time I read that quote of his.
If indeed this is what is happening now? It’s not turning out well for this country. Not at all.
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them. – Matthew 7:12
What would you like people to do for you—perhaps recognition for your hard work, gifts on special occasions, help when you need it, or companionship? It generally boils down to wanting to be respected, loved, and treated kindly. This is a good rule of thumb when dealing with people, even the ones you do not like.
Was Jesus always kind? He called some of the religious leaders of the day white-washed tombs full of dead people’s bones (Matthew 23:27). At one point, He told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan” (Matthew 16:23). He told the Jews who were seeking to kill Him that they were children of the devil (John 8:44). Love is not always nice, like when a surgeon takes a sharp knife to cut out cancer, but its root is kind. At times, the words of Christ were sharp, ready to cut out ungodly behavior. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
Practice kindness and love toward others and pray for God’s discernment and guidance to know when to use tough love. Someone who truly loves you is brave enough to tell you if there is something harmful you are holding onto in your life and to help you overcome it. Pray for wisdom for members of Congress and citizens of the United States to practice the golden rule, speaking truth into a situation even if it is not popular.

Proverbs 27:6 “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
Leviticus 19:17 “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.”
Jude 1:22-23 “And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”
When we want to follow Jesus’ example, love will guide how we treat one another. I just wish I were smarter and more filled with the Holy Spirit, and knew perfectly every time how to answer. That’s the part, I think, where we have to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus; AND walk by faith, that He IS guiding us with His eye, and He IS instructing us in the way that He chooses.

We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. Heb. 4:15
It became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb. 2:10

Behold how he loved. John 11:36

“The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” Prov. 10:22
Rich in the Spirit, rich in His love, rich in knowledge and understanding, rich in faith, rich in hope, rich in the world to come, and not caring for it in this world!
Rich when we feel His love, rich when we feel love for others, rich when we feel love from others, rich when we see His things going well and His people being blessed, Rich when old wounds are healed, rich when new wounds don’t make scars, rich when we recall how many times we had to be forgiven, and richest of the rich to be able to communicate Jesus’ great love to someone who needs to know it also.
Psalm 103:1-4, 9-12
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all my being, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits. R.
He pardons all your iniquities,
he heals all your ills.
He redeems your life from destruction,
he crowns you with kindness and compassion. R.
He will not always chide,
nor does he keep his wrath forever.
Not according to our sins does he deal with us,
nor does he requite us according to our crimes. R.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he put our transgressions from us. R.
Love Psalm 103, Molon.
Hard to pick a favorite, but, this one comes close.

Gracious good morning, sweet duchess. Thank you for your faithfulness in your postings every single morning.😘
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

have a blessed saturday.
thinking of you, levi…
So touching, slowcobra.
Now I miss him – and don’t even know him! 😢
He was uplifting every morning, Della…alas.
For Levi…
Those were great days, even with the snowy, black/white tube. And cartoons were the best.
How many times they told me, “don’t sit that way!”
I thought about trying it now, to see if I could still do it…then decided maybe not such a good idea.
But I surely did want to.😉

1974, the beloved movie “Benji” was filmed in McKinney, Texas. This week, the city of McKinney unveiled a sculpture of Benji to honor the film, the dog, and the town.

Kudos to the good folks of McKinney.
Must have taken their cue from Greyfriar’s Bobby’s sweet statue in Edinburgh💕

Loved that movie (s). The original is better but the remake was ok. They did that with “Where The Red Fern Grows”. Both are good.
I thought about getting a Skye Terrier.

No remakes for me, my friend. Can’t improve on perfection. The actors were real for me. I’ve “run into” every single one on every street in Britain. Everyday looking people. I adored that movie and made it a point to visit that sweet statue every time I was in Edinburgh.
Have you??? They are such lovely little dogs. I do hope you cave and put yourself up for adoption by one who needs you.💕🙏🏻
I am still wrestling with that. I watched “Big Red” the other nite and really liked it. It’s a 60’s movie from Disney based on a book about a boy and a Irish Setter.
Did you ever watch Hachi? Its a true story based on a Akita that waited for its master every day at the train station for his friend to come home by train. I love those kind of movies
Found this to be a fascinating interview by Dr. John Campbell with Marc Giradot on his bolus theory, where it’s the process of injection that is causing so much havoc with not only the current vaccines being pushed, but with other vaccines as well.
Quite possible this explains why some people do not have the adverse effects and others do and depending on which tissue is receiving the injection can indicate what type of longer term adverse event will eventually manifest.
It is a theory, but one with a lot of interesting insight that if true explains so many things. 1 hr, 7 minutes
It’s cold and breezy today☘️🌸☘️

I think it doesn’t know what to do, my friend. Spring here in name only, and only on certain days.
It’s 67 degrees here, nice! Just took pic from down the road of Wisteria in full bloom.
A beautiful sight as it covers long stretch of road. Actually is a weed, but I like it.
Wisteria!!!!! My sister in law in her 14th century farmhouse has this growing g all around the perimeter of it. Gorgeous! I get very nostalgic looking at it.
I didn’t realize it has a strong, sweet scent! Like perfume…
Have you thought of planting some on a small arbor, keeping it trained, of course.
Otherwise, it’ll cover your entire street. 😅😅
This didn’t age well:
Snow-Free Snowdon | Real Climate Science
One year ago the LA times announced the end of snow in California.
Emerald Bay at Lake Taho completely frozen over for the first time since the 1990s.
Mammoth struggling to open a few lifts today. Have received nearly 600 inches of snow this year so far.
Squaw Valley totally closed. Too much snow.
The list of failures goes on and on.
Farmer’s Almanac prediction for Winter 2022/2023…………IDK, but it looks like they missed the mark for the west coast, in the SE,SW they got it right?

U.S. Winter Outlook: Warmer, drier South with ongoing La Nina | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (noaa.gov)
Boy, did they ever…
Unless the wretched Newsome was chemtrailing for his cult “climate change”, thus making a mess of the weather.
I often think, right or wrong, that God does this to prove the folly of some people who think they know more than Him.
A very pleasant thought.
BTW, the La Nina which has lasted for three years is dead and the Eastern Pacific SSTs are warming quickly. My guess is that a strong El Nino will be coming later this year.
Thus the climate change BS is going to get nothing but worse.
Yes Globull Warming in Summer, Climate Change in Winter. The Earth’s history is all about it. Most of the earth’s history is Ice Ages which some genuine scientists think is comming not Global Warming.
We are still in an interglacial period of an ice age.
Don’t forget that the global warming crowd used to be the crowd of “the coming ice age” in the 70’s, and were blaming that on mankind back then, as they do the warming, now.
Morning all. I was just reading yesterday’s OT thread and read about what happened to our friend Garrison. While I am a huge Dog advocate since I consider them ‘family’ they are also quite effective for security. Posting beware of dog signs and a alarm company signs are also deterrents even if you do not have them.
I have a camera system that is pretty easy to install, inexpensive, and important for those on tight budgets or like me despise monthly subscription fees. Eufy.
I have a doorbell camera, above my garage, and one in my backyard that catches almost my whole backyard with the emphasis on my backdoor and pond. I just bought a indoor cam which I have to install this weekend. You use it with your phone (I have an android). For those who are not handy you could enlist a family member or if that is not available a handyman. If I use a contractor I always use them through a Angilist/homeadviser which vets and look at the reviews before hiring. Careful screening. I hope this is of help to my friends here known and unknown. (You can go to Amazon and input whatever type of camera you are looking for, for different options if you like for different situations. I wish I had the Eufy security lights with camera but alas my sensor floodlight are older, but light security also helps deter)

Their dog paw cleaner was a life saver for me…………….the house mud from my lab was testing my limits…………
UC I did not know about this and I appreciate the info. Ty
What brilliant info, Colkitto. I do hope Garrison sees this.
Cerulean Warbler. There was an island near where Washington crossed the Delaware river Washington Crossing State park in NJ where they breed every year and I saw some there.
Like the beautiful bird pictures and descriptions you post.
This bird is interesting. It has the same colors as a blue jay.
Good morn, again, my friend. He is lovely. Almost every shade of blue. 💕
Brew some extra strong coffee in morn, friends- for that one less hour of shut-eye.
Good ole daylight savings time!

I just bought some Stumptown Coffee and made my Duncan Hines Chocolate Muffins which I cannot find in the stores anymore. Sun is shining my Koi are swimming around the pond, birds at my feeder and on the ground for the ground seed and my Bluebird pair are building their nest in my hanging bluebird box. Life is good and thank God for it.
Enjoy your coffee ma’am.

Oh my – I want that now!!
Those muffins sound delicious – and chocolate too? Just eat one for me, please.
God is good, and so is life. It comes from Him.
We only have to open our eyes and see, right!
I posted this yesterday – there are three bluebirds all trying to get in the bluebird house. And three’s a crowd.
Comical.
Glad all is well at your place, C.
Take care. Enjoy.

I’ll eat 2 for you my friend. Having a garden/landscaped backyard is a real pleasure. I wish I had that gorgeous really long driveway with the Dogwood trees and pond that Bet put up yesterday leading to a Norman style Manor house with a few thousand or hundred acres. The house doesn’t have to be this big but I love the style of architecture.
Connecticut French Norman-style ManorFor a French Norman-style manor on a Connecticut estate, architect Charles Hilton took inspiration from Marie Antoinette’s Hameau de la Reine at Versailles.

Thank you, love muffins and coffee! You piqued my interest in “Stumptown” brand and will look for it!
Yes, that landscape Betsy posted was a dream! Peaceful and beautiful, tucked away from all the madness. Who wouldn’t love that!
That house is unique and lovely; could see it at end of dogwood line drive…so nice.
I prefer a simple bungalow in photo. Less inside to clean, more outside time!
I adore this designer – this is his actual house here in Georgia.
I could probably be happy in a barn on that landscape in Betsy’s pic! haha
I agree a Barn would work in Bet’s beautiful picture. I’ll take your house also. I’ll explore some his designs. One of my cousin’s was an architect. He worked hard for it and struggled for a long time to achieve it. Turned into a snob later though.
I have “Champagne tastes” according to some that know me, but that is just the dream side of my brain. I would be happy with a small home provided it had the land for nature/gardens.
Hairbender is my favorite from them but everyone’s tastes are different. I thought about opening a coffee house/bakery using their coffee but its just a fantasy. I miss my old coffee/bakeries I used to go in NJ. Usually Italian but their was a Chilean one that I was friends with the owners/workers and they were of Italian/German/Spain ethnic backgrounds. Good times with good people.
I have some apple cider donut mix I think I am going to make tomorrow because of our conversation. Ty for that. Cheers ma’am
Visit his Instagram for some beautiful rooms, including his garden. He has degree in landscape.
Hairbender sounds like it would wake you up!! Haha.
I understand – always said I have champagne test and buttermilk budget.
But the older I get, it’s all about simplify…
Glad you have good memories of friends and coffee. Keep pressing on for new ones.
I lived in my “dream of glory” house in Wales. A Victorian house built in 1869 in a Welsh valley on 1/3 acre.
My husband landscaped it all. Bought a mini digger to level, then planted. He built a solarium on the side of the house so we could enjoy the beautiful results from inside. He also built a large deck at the back of the property. On Sunday mornings we’d take our newspapers and a cup of tea and sit there watching the sheep in all the fields around us, and the road in the distance with Sunday traffic flowing. We could hear the steam trains passing through the valley.
Idyllic…we left it better than we found it, and I miss it very much.
But I truly do miss my garden the most.💔
I can imagine it to be like in that wonderful movie you told me about “Fairytale”.
Wales is one of those countries I feel a strong affinity for.
Lloyd Alexander who wrote the wonderful Welsh Prydain Chronicles. Looks like his cat wants some attention. Beautiful story Bet. Ty for sharing.

Gasp!!!!! !😍😍😍😍😍!!!!
I make mine using instant, boiled water from a kettle and foamy hot milk from a pan on the stove.
My grown children all love it that way. And since the grand kiddos all call me “Bucca”, when I see them which sorrowfully is not all that often now, they all ask for a ” StarBucca’s” coffee.😁
LOL that is cool. What kind of instant to you use for your wonderful/interesting method? I’ve been thinking of buying a Cappuccino/Espresso maker. If you have ever had a real Cappuccino they are incredible, especially if your having a real Tiramisu or Ricotta Cheesecake.
Wal-Mart cheap brand. Great Value Classic roast Tostada Coffee. Medium/Rich and Smooth😎
Long time since I’ve had Tiramisu…and now I want some!
My apologies for the double text. I was rushing out and didn’t catch it. My bad
Ugh…didn’t realize it was upon us until suddenly yesterday thought I’d check to see what the date was. So now I suppose I’ll be at sixes and sevens until my body clock adjusts.
Vats of coffee will be definitely brewing.
😂😂
While looking up someone’s obituary today I noticed this article in the next column. I tho’t since it was Women’s History Month I would post it:
Of Interest to Woman.
Nearly 300 inventions by women were patented in England last year.
The dyeing of rare and costly Oriental rugs is done mostly by the women folk.
Vancouver, B. C. has a taxi cab company owned and operated wholly by women.
A new paper in the interests of Swedish women is now published in Gottenburg.
