An excellent set for today, Garrison… thanks again. Having lived a portion of my younger days in Chicago, I can assure you that live blues will not only touch your heart and your soul… but your body will move in ways you never imagined.
And one thing about blues music . . . if you were there to hear the music it didn’t matter if you were black or white, you were (almost all the time anyway) welcome. Lots of black/white friendships were made listening to blues music. Race relations in the and 60’s and early 70’s were greatly helped by mostly black juke-joints welcoming white-boys who’d come to hear (and like the Winters brothers Stevie Ray Vaughan) sometimes play the music.
I used to frequent a blues club in Oakland, CA… ironically, they hosted a great St. Patrick’s Day dinner of corned beer and cabbage… along with some vibrant blues to accompany the meal.

A random act of kindness. She obviously thought you needed that kiss! My neighbor rescued a large hound off the street, recently. For a long time he was aggressive, barely (but not always) controlling an street-necessity aggressive streak. It’s been interesting to see how he’s decided he has a home now and is loved. He’s a much changed dog. The other day he gave me a big sloppy smooch right on my nose. Nice dog. 🙂

I think they have a secret code, Bet. They somehow know they can come to my house. Right now I have a mysterious feral kitty coming to beg for food. It meows outside my study but runs and hides when I come out. Been putting out some food (which is almost immediately gone) and keeping the water bowl filled. A lynch/pin issue is whether the new kitty can get along with little ‘Tink. ‘Tink isn’t all that territorial. So far so good. 🙂

I’ve been giving extra loves to my two puppers. Our big standard dachshund wound up in the hospital on Monday with pancreatitis.
I caused it by giving him boiled pork loin on his kibble. Even though it was lean it still was too fatty and triggered the pancreatitis. I feel awful and am very thankful he’s recovering very quickly.
Buddy came home on Tuesday with meds and was greeted at the door by an extremely excited little brother and his people dad.
We’re all spoiling him. Of course, brother Tucker is included in the extra spoiling.

Fear of persecution has been at the root of fearing to offend. And if we understand the Bible at all, it nowhere says that we are to go out and “win” the world; but to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and repentance for the remission of sins in His Name, and teach them to observe all that Jesus has commanded us. Having rejected the commandments of God, they have made another Jesus and another gospel, that has no power to their pretended religion.

Archbishop Vigano made the same point in his latest essay, which I will again leave here.
We must choose sides and fight our righteous corner, God’s corner. We cannot abrogate our moral duties, our spiritual duties. And we must go into battle with the forces of evil which have always wanted our precious gifts from God. Who will protect and fight for them if we will not?
Matt is on the most solid ground there is. And he is absolutely correct about the churchs in many denominations, which seem to have acquiesced to the siren call of the false gods which surround us today.
The Anglican Church in Britain started the drift a couple of decades ago, slowly but inexorably tearing at the fabric of God’s Holy Word, one thread at a time…until today there is a hole so big, courtesy of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the devil himself could easily walk through it. And has.
This Archbishop has not upheld his duties. He has parsed the Word of God, comprised with those who worship false ones…the ones who demand we all bow down to Mother Earth, to homosexuality, to the mental illness which is “gender dysphoria”, essentially saying that Almighty God whose works are perfect has made a mistake. The Archbishop, in effect, has made himself a hand maiden to evil.
And so there is turmoil and rancor within the Anglican Church. It seems an irreconcilable split will be the result. Exactly what those who persecute Christians have worked for…and it seems are getting.
An outstanding statement of truth by Matt. There are no sidelines to sit on with any moral issues, but particularly with the mutilation of children…or as I have come to think of it, child sacrifice to Moloch. Something we thought was in the past and which we looked upon in horror wondering how it could happen is with us again, but in a different guise. Pray that those churches who sit silent awaken. If they are in any way complicit by their failure to loudly and fearlessly speak out against the abominable being passed off as normal, pray they awaken from that wicked stance as well.

Hi Betsy, I read the essay/article you posted. I thought it was very good on most points. In fact I started writing a long page of notes to some of the things he brought up. The things I disagree with, which have to do with what I understood, as making in connection to the Reformation times with what’s happening now. What happened then, was not a rebellion against authority, or an attempt to seize control of the people for themselves; but an awakening and enlightenment to the truth of the Scriptures. For shining light upon the evil, they were persecuted and branded heretics. It was never about trying to seize the throne of power over the people! But to give the people the word of God and the knowledge of salvation as God has made it. But this goes away from what the Archbishop’s essay is intended to communicate. And I believe, that he simply believes what he was taught, and uses that as a reference; which in fact is actually all the opposite. It is the same spirit in the world which has ever stood against Christ being God’s salvation for man, which the “Globalists and New World Order” people are following.
I don’t wish anyone who is a Believer, who happens also to be of any denomination, to take this as an affront to their faith; for the churches will not be able to answer for anyone at the day of judgement; but each of us individually will stand before Jesus for ourselves and how we did with the Grace and Light He has given us.
I think Matt Walsh is a huckster. Having taught gender-identity in countless sociology and anthropology classes over a multi decade career, I’ve become increasingly annoyed and appalled at how Matt Walsh is politicizing a very serious issue. Sorry. Don’t much like the politicization of critical life issues—whether it is about guns, climate change, critical race theory . . . or this.
Having been attacked for my “conservative” beliefs (e.g., merely that children and teens should not be medicalized with hormones or surgery) and then labeled a transphobe, homophobe, terf, racist, and every other kind of phobe, I would say it’s been made political by the left.
Matt Walsh is NOT the one politicizing it.
This is not gender “identity” at work, it’s gender ideology.
Talk to families like mine who are being ripped apart by this cultish ideology and you may change your view.

I didn’t get “politicization” out of what he said, but I can appreciate your point of view. I agree with you. However, what I got out of it, he is sick of what is being done by the criminals and perverts, and the general attitude in society to be afraid to speak up. I also agree to this. Maybe that’s what you took as politicization? Either way, it is beyond our ability to comprehend how terrible it is that the devil is getting people to do, to destroy man, God’s children, and God’s Masterpiece of creation! I can only pray that there would be some miracle that they would all be brought out and publicly condemned, at the end of a rope! As the law of the LORD says,
Numbers 35:33 “So you shall not pollute the land wherein you are: for blood it defiles the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.”
Proverbs 14:22 “Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.”
If we want to understand the Scriptures, God has already provided for us to understand; but we have to do the actual reading and thinking! There is absolutely no place in the Scriptures, that suggests that we should turn off our brains as part of yielding and surrendering to God.
Many groups however have adopted that kind of philosophy, under the false belief, that everything that comes out of us is automatically evil. The poison from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, did its harm to our moral consciousness; in that we learned what guilt and shame is; which we would otherwise not have known. The breaking down of the conscience by sinning, does not disable our capacity to know how to do good. What it does is wear down our inhibitions that would hold us back from sinning more in the future. As it is said, Break a hedge, and a serpent will bite.

The purpose of conviction and guilt, is to deal with it before we come before the Judge in eternity; for then whatever state we’re in, would be final and forever.
God gave us a brain to use it. We all have our own gifts and calling form God, and individual personality traits. What we do is not for comparing with each other; but for pleasing our Lord. We serve at the pleasure of our King. Jesus always encourages intelligence, and thinking carefully, and all the way through. Every time someone came up to Jesus challenging Him on something; he always made them think about what they were doing in light of the Scriptures.
That’s what sets us apart from all the rest of His creatures; and how He made us to rule over the works of His hands. The devising isn’t in itself the bad thing; but the devising of evil that is detested by God. Devising good goes with His Spirit, and His mercy and truth. Devising good is how the whole “system” works, the way He made it; that He should be our God, and we His people. The popular term, Stinkin’ Thinkin’ only applies to bad thinking, not all thinking! Our thinking does not automatically get in the way of God’s guidance. As long as we, like David, walk before Him with a perfect heart all our days; being mightily filled with His Spirit, holding fast our integrity; then God will guide us continually.
David was a man after God’s own heart, in that he walked with God with a perfect heart all his days. He often had ideas on his own; and because of his walk with God, God prospered David every way he turned. If he wanted to bring the ark home to his house; God showed him how to do it according to the prescribed order. When David wanted to build a house unto the LORD; the LORD answered, Have I ever said anything at anytime about building Me a house? That this is in your heart, it is good; but you have been a man of blood and war; therefore your son Solomon shall build the house.
Revelation 22:12 “And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Daniel 7:27 “And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.”
Isaiah 61:4 “And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.”
Ezekiel 16:55, 62-63 “When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then you and your daughters shall return to your former estate. . . . The Lord Jesus told us, that upon His return, He will immediately take account with all His servants, to give each one his reward, and to appoint him his place of authority. To those who worked the hardest and made His “money” increase many times over; the more responsibility they will be given. And the exact wording was, “Be thou over ten cities, etc… ” The devil will be locked up in the abyss for a thousand years, and all the wicked, and all causes of sin, will be gone from off the earth. The coming of the Lord in power and great glory, and the commencement of the “Regeneration,” will be what is referred to as, “The Dividing of Time.”
Matthew 19:28 “And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”
As the dominion of all the earth shall be given into the hands of the saints; and the Lord Jesus Christ is King over all nations and on His throne in Jerusalem; and the whole nation of the children of Israel will be saved and converted and know the LORD their God and Savior; the first order of business will be to rebuild and repair and restore all the cities and habitations of the world, beginning at Jerusalem. The Temple and the priesthood will be fully rebuilt and established in holiness unto the LORD. All the cities of Israel and the former estates of all places will be restored; only without any devil or cause of sin any more in the world. The animals will also be released from their bondage to being wild and savage; and there will be no more predatory beasts.
Isaiah 11:4-10 “But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth: with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to It shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious.”
The LORD says, that the ancient peoples will be restored to their former estates; specifically mentioning Sodom and Samaria and Jerusalem; saying that there will be a day when His wrath toward them will have been pacified. This gives us very fascinating things to think about. Now I’m not declaring this as anything more than the way I read it. If I am mistaken, then I apologize, and take responsibility for my own doings. If there are things about salvation and the things that have not entered the heart of man, which God is planning to bring to pass; then we can praise the LORD and wonder, till He shows us face to face.
The Lord Jesus did say, that all manner of sin shall be forgiven the children of men, and howsoever they have blasphemed; except the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; for which there is no forgiveness; neither in this world, nor in the world to come. So there well may be many, who died in their sins and were punished; but were not guilty of the blasphemy of the Spirit. Or, as many believe it to mean, only for those who become Christians. Not to deny that that absolutely is the case with us when we get saved; but we all know, that there are innumerable multitudes that have come and gone from this world, who never knew, nor ever got a chance to know about the Lord Jesus, and how to get saved. Paul makes reference to this when saying how the nations which have not the law, are made a law unto themselves by their conscience. Also Peter makes reference to those who died during the time Noah was building the ark, how that Jesus went into the places where they are now, and preached to them before His resurrection.
And when we think about how merciful God is going to be to Israel, after all that they have done over so many centuries and centuries; and that Israel is by the promise of God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the head of the nations; then it should also follow, that the world also, that has not blasphemed the holy Spirit of God; will also be restored to life from the dead, when the whole mystery of God is finished.
Now if all these things are in fact written in the Scriptures; which they are; the next question I have is, Are all these things going to be during the thousand years, or when God makes the new heaven and new earth? Or is it something that will only be partly done, on account of the first resurrection, the judgment day of the great white throne of Christ, and whoever is then found written in the Book of life; and then completed with the new heaven and earth?

That is a very interesting and sophisticated point. God created the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; but it was not for us to eat from. Everything that God created was “Very Good!”
What I’m curious about, Adam obviously was the most intelligent man ever made, for he was the first and best; he had the understanding what to name all the animals, and the capability to manage all life on earth, even as God: what happened? where was the lapse? how did he have then a “blank” when his wife handed him the fruit to try? Was it the mesmerizing effect of being enticed by the devil, that disabled his inhibitions, and good judgment?

I would like input, a discussion …..concerning peoples personal observation with overall cold/flu this 2022/2023 flu season.
Locally there was a very early and severe type A flu outbreak followed by wave after wave of colds this season.
I realize this is anecdotal but anything noticeably unusual about health in this country should be analyzed, discussed and quantified.

Is there anyone doing a study already on:
a perceived increase and severity of type A flu and colds this season?
a sudden and heretofore unknown to me use of a “type A flu” test?
If there is a significant increase in colds and flu there are two large questions
There was a lot of talk about shedding ….. are there studies like this one discussed on Tucker focused on the un Vaxxed and any changes health wise in that specific group.
Again this is strictly anecdotal
but
I have observed young persons with immune systems seemingly impervious to colds and flu in years past affected this year

Good morning all.
Another day another dollar.
Driving through some slick and windy conditions up in Michigan yesterday. The only time a real pucker factor kicked in was on I-69 S up in Michigan headed home. A left hand curve, a short bridge over a ditch, and a gust of wind at the exact wrong time combined to slide me nearly halfway on the shoulder and set the traction alarm off.
That is the kind of situation where rookies overreact and you see them jack knifed in the ditch. The key is “EASEY” on the counter steer, no engine brake, and in fact no braking at all! I drifted out on the shoulder with my right side tires but my left tires got past the slick spot and gained traction. If you over do the counter steer then when the tires gain traction again your in trouble.
In slick conditions my cruise control and engine brake are always off.
BTW a jackknife at hi-way speeds frequently totals the tractor because the frame gets twisted.
Once I hit Ft. Wayne the road was dry and trees were not silver with ice anymore. I made it back with 2 hours to spare.
Bet you had to remove seat cover from buttocks. Lol
Yea! It wasn’t my lips that were puckering and that seat got real narrow, real quick.

BTW I called Randy up to warn him about the slick spot because he was coming down I-69 about 1/2 hour behind me. When he got there it was just wet and there was a salt shaker sitting in the middle in the vicinity. So Michigan DOT got on it apparently.

I have one but leave it off most of the time. Too many stupid suckers on it. But I turn it on in a back up to see what’s happening and what lane I need to be in or get information about the best detour.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Rah, my son lives on a mountain on a patch of land in the middle of Fort Hunter Ligget, CA. He let me know of the storm heading in and was leaving for the low country outside of Salinas, CA. Once the already slimy muddy dirt road ices up there is no getting out.
My daughter lives in the Sierra foothills beside Lake Don Pedro. She will shelter in place. Depending on the amount of snow in the area she may not be able to get to work come Monday.

Hi, Bet.One of the residents in the nursing home where I worked, was telling me about the dust storms that rolled across her ranch property in Texas during the 30s. I was riveted to what she was saying.
Then more call lights went off, I had to answer them; she went back to sleep. I didn’t want to wake her up and bother her with anything else she could remember. I really wanted to hear the rest of her story.

I am betting you can speculate as to reason truck was stuck? Was the incline a bit too much that he shouldn’t have tried going over the tracks? It does seem to be on a bit of a raised track.

Drop Deck trailer “high centered”. IOW the trailer bottomed out on the tracks and got stuck. Conventional trailers have much more clearance, but they can still be high centered usually when the landing gear (minimum 1 foot clearance when retracted) makes contact at places where there is a sharp incline and then a sharp descent. Saw that exact thing at a RR crossing in Phillipsburg, PA with a conventional trailer though a train had not come along yet.
You have all noticed the skirts on the bottom edges of trailers. They divert air from going under the trailer and that decreases wind resistance and thus increases milage.
But at some places they have docks in wells where there is a steep incline. At some of these places I have had to slide my trailer tandems forward as far as they will go to decrease the wheel base between the tractor drive tandems and the trailer tandems. If I didn’t I would tear the skirts up as they high centered.
Once down into the well far enough one then has to slide the tandems back so the trailer tail is close enough the dock height to allow for loading. Also if your being loaded with heavy stuff sliding the trailer tandems to the rear makes the trailer a much more stable platform for the fork truck to run in and out of.
Drivers have to THINK and have situational awareness and when they don’t stuff like that shown in the video above happens.
