Something I should have said clearly:
When the potential threat is 90% reduction in the population of the United States — the stakes in being wrong about what the balloon(s) were carrying is too high to warrant —— any guess work….
That is why the level of certainty that you know what the balloon is carrying + what it is capable of ——— must be close to 100%….
Otherwise, you shoot it down before it gets overland….
I think that it is extremely likely to turn out to be a weather balloon. Send one up there and it will just stay up there for months – consuming no fuel, going wherever those hundred-mile-an-hour winds take it.

Weather type balloons can’t be steered in the sense that blimps or dirigibles can be. They can be raised and lowered to take advantage of wind direction at different altitudes. Hot air balloons are always followed by vehicles on the ground to retrieve them. They don’t return to their launching site, for instance.
It is my understanding the primary balloon over the US was found to change course in a manner indicating it had propulsion capability.
That’s why I don’t use the term Weather Balloon for it.

There are plenty of weather balloons up there, usually around 80,000 feet. Usually they are too small to see from the ground, but they transmit their exact locations. If you want to know about “winds aloft,” a balloon is the perfect tool to do it, able to remain at altitude for months at a time.
Lately its been seen at 60,000 feet, so rather low. If it is a maneuverable airship as the Pentagon is telling us then why is it choosing to stay inside our territory? And why did it direct itself to a location over our nuclear silos? Is it worth the risk to assume a harmless weather balloon?

The Pentagon says this “balloon” is not just floating along on air currents. We’re told it is fully maneuverable as is reflected in its flight path thru Alaska, Canada and into the U.S. That makes it an airship or dirigible.
We don’t know what cargoe, tech or military weapons it may be carrying. The risk is too great to make assumptions about what it is doing in our territory. Until we can confirm otherwise, we must assume it is a military airship on a military mission and act accordingly. And as the Chinese airship can maneuver, the fact it is staying in our territory is an act of aggression.

Weather balloons are not that large. I’m thinking it is a research balloon. Those may be solar panels we see underneath it that power the balloon and make it maneuverable.

But like you, as should everybody else, don’t rely on analysts, talking heads, etc. to tell us how to think. Rather, collect different points of view and facts, then figure it out yourself while remaining open to new content that reveals itself over time.

It has always mystified me when the United States refers to “hegemony” and “uni-polar.” From an engineering perspective, this has no redundancy nor fault-tolerance. It proposes that only one country will control the economies of every other one, literally “just because they declare that they must.” A “rule-based order” in which the USA makes all the rules. Such a system, if ever allowed to happen, would simply fall over on its face. I don’t work in healthcare but I know the basics: Avoid touching my face until I can wash my hands. Use paper towels to handle faucets and doorknobs.

I have often wondered why there is not a “hand-washing sink” in the lobby of every restaurant. At minimum there should be a constantly-replenished hand sanitizer station there.
A doctor friend of mine told me long before Covid told me hand sanitizer was a waste of money as he believed them ineffective.
He also informed me post Covid that many infections came in threw the eyes, as he chuckled at the “ face diapers”

Healthcare is a different environment in which actively sick people are putting out a lot more germs than a typical stroll amongst generally healthy people in public.
Forcing even a healthy immune system to deal with an initial dose of millions of germs vs 10,000 makes a big difference in how well and quickly it can handle the infection.
Most of the germs are airborne. If you are in a modest-sized room with someone you will be breathing what the exhaled in less than 15 minutes.
The focus should be on your immune system health. For example, just getting enough good sleep at night and nutrition goes a long way.

Nobody launches a “balloon” of that sort of size and mass without a means of “de-orbiting” it should it veer out of its expected flight envelope or on command.
I don’t care if China intended it to enter our airspace or not (although I will assume they did); they most certainly had the ability to prevent it from doing so by sending it a command to come down before it did so. They didn’t do that, on purpose.
Period, end of discussion, full stop.
The United States has full authority under both US and International law to shoot it down and did from the point at which it entered our EEZ’s airspace. We did not have to wait and there is utterly no excusefor our failure to destroy it before it crossed over into the United States.
Nobody has the right to enter the airspace of a nation without permission. If you do it as a manned aircraft you can be forced down and, if you refuse to land, destroyed. An unmanned device, which this clearly is, can be destroyed without warning.
Something of that size and lifting capacity could easily have a thermonuclear warhead on board. Detonation of such at that height would produce minimal direct damage however nothing prevents the device from rapidly descending first and then exploding at, for example, 2 miles of altitude.
Oh, they’d never do that?
Sorry, that’s not how it works. An unannounced and uncleared incursion by a heavy-lift air vehicle capable of carrying such a device must be presumed to have one on board with intent to use it. There are no “do overs” if you get this wrong.
Our military is derelict in permitting this craft into our airspace and our so-called “civilian leadership” is either incompetent or deliberately in league with the Chinese. Either way both must be removed and destroyed, replacing same with functional entities. The Pentagon appears to be more-concerned with what pronouns some “soldier” wants to use than whether a potential nuclear device is floating over several of our major cities and a decent part of our nuclear missile silos inventory.

I suggest quite frankly that this is most likely to be a weather balloon. Lots of things happen at 80,000 feet which influence weather on the ground. Balloons can be sent up there and they just sit there for months at a time, passively gathering data while consuming no fuel. You can actually tune in to the transponder frequencies and decode their signal: the data-stream format is public. There are many balloons in the sky all over the world at any one time, but they’re usually too high to see. (But they will tell you where they are.) If you want to study “winds aloft,” simply park a balloon up there and see where it blows.

The thing is, say none of us trust doctors….. what does it matter to them? We’ll just get sick/injured and die. Their lives go on unfettered. If they work for companies like Kaiser, it’s actually more profitable for them if we get sick and die and never see them. They loved Covid. Health care was paid in advance and very few patients. Big profits.
I’d expect more of this as the fabric of American society deteriorates further. Loss of trust in government, law enforcement, medicine, the judicial system, on and on. What’s next?

Old school doctors that put the patient first are few and far between now, thanks to the preferred admit to Med school being foreign born, minority and female. Hospital Administrators are as culpable as doctors.

Most private practioners simply do what all the other private practitioners do, which is to follow what the state boards “advise.” The state boards simply follow whatever federal agencies “advise” or “mandate.”
The few, remaining, independent-minded healthcare practitioners keep a low profile and have gotten into alternative or non-conventional treatments that are less regulated and not reimbursed by insurance.
As for medical schools, they will do whatever FedGov wants them to do, to satisfy FedGov grant requirements. These days, FedGov wants “diversity” and “equity,” and that’s what medical schools will deliver: Lower quality drone doctors who will “follow the consensus,” enter data into computers, press buttons on pre-programmed machines. and “follow protocols.”
State Boards have the power to cripple doctors practices on a whim.
I understand the anger, the disappointment and the subtle threats of revenge, however it’s not as if anyone has a viable alternative to using the services of doctors unless you prefer to die sooner.
Most of my career was spent imaging not so much diseases as injuries and chronic conditions caused by these misadventures, as well as the inevitable physical decline brought on by normal aging. You can’t set your own broken bones properly. You can’t suture yourself if a wound is significant. You can’t cut out your own cancerous tumor. If you’ve ruptured a disk, pain alone is too diffuse to indicate which ones. There’s no such thing as “home dentistry”. If your sight is impaired, you can’t grind your own lenses, or even know to what specification. If you are in a major vehicle accident, are a crime victim or you have combat injuries, you can’t make your own prostheses or wheelchair, nor learn how to regain mobility without help. Heck, you won’t even survive the initial shock of a major trauma or burn without serious pain meds.
Nobody can be expert at everything. That’s why there’s a medical system with a variety of specialties. Hate them all you want, but at some point you WILL need a doctor even if you never take medicines. Better learn to qualify which ones can service your needs. Unless you are a lawyer specializing in malpractice, you won’t personally be able to do much about doctors who did wrong besides avoiding them.
Speaking of lens grinding, just yesterday a trainee at a facility in Buffalo got entangled with a large lens grinding apparatus.
How awful! I hope they were treated rapidly. One of my first big cases was a guy wrapped up in a roll of mylar that caught his shirt tail, pulling him into a machine with no deadman switch. Fractures of all four limbs, some vertebrae and multiple ribs. He didn’t die, but it caused permanent disability.
Yes! I think what you posted is a big reason we are losing the Dr.-Patient relationship in terms of treatment. The CDC put out treatment recommendations and hospital administrators made certain they were followed. I also remember the threat of a Dr losing their medical license if they strayed from the recommended treatment protocols.
Some were idiots who believed the propaganda. Many of the non-idiots were threatened and caved.
The ones that quit rather than going against their conscience are MDs you should trust going forward.
BTW this pattern is very similar to just about every other discipline that was leveraged to execute this and other crimes against us, from the press to election fraud.

The war front is hundreds of miles long and hundreds of miles away. Russia watches your trains, identifies what’s on them, drops a single precision bomb on it, and kaboom. USA/EU/NATO is “poking the bear” and “poking the panda” with no idea what it is actually doing.
And No apparent effort to increase manufacturing.
In WWI, we started increasing manufacturing when we entered the war. The war ended before our manufacturing could help us. In WWII, we started in May of 1940.
We are relentlessly marching ourselves to WWIII, we are trying to use up all our weapons before we start fighting and not increasing manufacturing.

I don’t think that our leaders are setting us up. I think they had strong motivations, but didn’t have good information about Russia. We went into this rather haphazardly to destroy Russia and its leadership and plunder its resources. Then when our plans didn’t work like we hoped, we have escalated piecemeal – another sanction here, a few howitzers there, HIMARS, more ammunition, etc, thinking each time that this would be the wunderwaffe that would defeat Russia.
The US, NATO, the EU, and the western allies are wallowing around and bellowing like a wounded animal right now, with little way to get out of this conflict that we incited and exacerbated in every way possible.
They thought they could win with economic sanctions. So they baited Putin to invade and prepared for Ukraine to collapse, making Putin the bad guy whom they would unite the world against and destroy without going to war.
But Ukraine didn’t collapse. And Russia, long suffering under sanctions, had prepared ways to cope with our abuses. And our sanctioning the Oligarchs actually helped Putin.
And the ROW saw what we did, both our involvement beforehand, and our abuses, and decided to not join in on the abuses, knowing they could be next victim.
And we have now trapped ourselves into ever expanding our involvement in order to keep the Ukrainians from collapsing.
We also set impossible conditions that equate to total defeat for Putin, or else we put the kibosh on any peace deals. We are leaving ourselves no choice but to escalate to WWIII.
Agree, we’re fighting a war we obviously can’t win. That’s because this isn’t a war against Russia; it’s a war of demoralization and attrition being waged against US. We are being maneuvered into surrender to global fascism.

I find it interesting that the NATO countries are expending a lot of military resources on the Ukraine to the point of jeopardizing their ability to defend their own borders. And now we’re drawing weapons and munitions from South Korea (who by now, should be independent of of our presence there anyway). I think they are still of the old mindset of dealing with the USSR.
But the shoes on the other foot now. The NATO nations are expending resources in the hopes of outlasting the Russian Federal Republic, which is in a much better position financially and has maintained a robust internal manufacturing capability with regards to weapon systems and munitions.

In this article, the author’s definition of World War III seems to be the countries of the world directly involved in the fighting or a nuclear confrontation where much of the world is destroyed. There are countries supplying Ukraine even covertly using some boots on the ground, but the US, the global west, and EU countries are not sending their best weapons or directly using their weapons and their armies against Russia.
One of the key events, according to the author is the “Odessa moment” when Russia takes Odessa. Without taking Odessa, Ukraine will have the ability to resume the conflict in the future and threaten Russia in the Black Sea.

As for old habits dying hard, we have two different friends whose television is on every waking moment. One watches MSNBC from morning until night and believes everything she sees, which has made conversation pretty difficult these last couple of years. The other watches Fox News and is constantly outraged but honestly, pretty ill informed!
I watch over the air, broadcast TV via outside rooftop antenna. I don’t watch woke sports or anything else. I certainly don’t watch TV news. Almost all my viewing is older movies and sitcoms. TV never enrages me because I am a discerning viewer and I CHANGE CHANNELS! I look at an internet TV schedule to spare myself surfing ahead of time.

I watch Tucker and Walters on YouTube for free. Generally most shows and or portions of shows. No more cable tv, I was paying a fortune to only watch 2 guys on fox.

I don’t see this as being a deliberate off to stir up the riot crowd. There may be an element of Soros money in pushing for a lowering of requirements across the country, in the wake of 2020, in order to hire people as police officers who never would have passed background check under the old standards. It does sound like that happened in this situation.
But I think this actual incident was simply people who never should have had a badger done, using their position in order to settle a personal agreement with the young man who had done nothing wrong.

It can stay up there for many months, consuming no fuel. I’m entirely confident that this is what the thing actually is. And it goes wherever the winds take it. You can actually eavesdrop on their transponder feeds.

Perhaps the tropopause descent of late has influenced the altitudes at which the usual jet streams in the sub-polar region operate. Generally, if a balloon, or aircraft, is at 80K feet, it’s above the tropopause and hence what we know as the stratospheric jet stream that typical civilian aircraft navigate.
Though I haven’t seen any the last week or so, yeah I routinely see domestic high altitude balloons, mainly over the Southwest U.S. when looking for military aircraft on ADS-B. Usually the altitude readout is over 65K ft.
Carlson‘s report referred to the thing being at around 47,000 feet and a pilot almost running into it and reporting it as a derelict balloon.

Could it be that the United States has similar balloons at 100,000 feet loitering over China or Russia (or just outside their national boundaries) and do not want to risk losing those balloons in retaliation if we take out the Chinese one currently sauntering above the United States? While I have never held clearances on such systems I would not be surprised that such a capability was kept in a highly protected SAP (Special Access Program). Balloons can gather more precise and voluminous intelligence than your average satellite.

Students’ problems mostly arose in the home and could not be remedied in the schools. Lastly, the so-called “experts” that he hired from top universities spouted theories that had no relevance to reality. Education theory has been down the rat hole for decades.
It seems to me that the only remedy is to give parents vouchers and then they can spend their education dollars at private or public schools of their choosing. Bring down the corrupt teachers unions and defund the school boards. Let parents spend money on woke BS if they want, but I’m betting that most parents want to spend their education dollars on reading, writing, and arithmetic. They may also go for music, sports, real history, etc., but precious few will go for tranny shows and self loathing wokeness.
Our state is looking to pass a bill like that, although there are number of student limitations for at least the first few years. Another issue is that it has income limitations, so if you hold a decent paying job you probably won’t qualify. No matter that childcare and private education is beyond expensive.. I agree though that all education types should be available at affordable prices, so long as the institutions have enough authority to run the schools as they see fit. Otherwise the bad apples will just migrate and bring down the good schools.
