Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Great job!
Hugs!
How appropriate, Mary, as David Crosby passed away today at 81.
A nice tribute, intentional or not.
Intentional.
I just didn’t want to be the one that said he died. I hate losing people from this earth.
We lose them in a way, but they go on to Heaven/Spirit.
Ty for the remembrance. (expecting to fly is my fav but I posted it the other day)
Buffalo Springfield – Rock and Roll Woman
Buffalo Springfield is absolutely wonderful!
Due South – For What It’s Worth – Buffalo Springfield
Before CSN and before Buffalo Springfield, there was The Byrds…………..he was cofounder and later kicked out.
One of his last performances with the band. This on stage rant about the JFK assassination got him booted.
Reunited with The Byrds and Dylan, 25 years later……………
I should have paid more attention to The Byrds.
Quantum Leap – Turn, Turn, Turn – Judy Collins
Bob Dylan was ALWAYS my main love.
https://www.iment.com/maida/tv/hw/video/Sherlock-Holmes-Masters-of-War-Bob-Dylan.htm
I don’t think it’s Crosby singing but this is one of my Buffalo Springfield favorites.
Such a beautiful voice, now silent and missed. Here is another of their songs… one that got less play but displays both their harmonies and their skill at lyrics
I’ve forgotten so much of that period! University of Chicago was a mild-mannered liberal base. They spent more time arguing Roberts Rules of Order than Revolution. Thank goodness! And thanks for those very scary memories.
U of C was mild mannered?
That surprises me. Besides Berkley and Columbia, I always thought of the U of C as ground zero fro the 1960s protest movement and upheavels.
Absolutely not! We were too busy THINKING about issues to DO anything about issues.
Thanks for correcting my misperception…………..maybe i had it confused with Ann Arbor…..another campus hot bed………….
Whatever happened in Chicago came from outside Chicago. I know there were meetings around campus around that time, but it was a strange school in that arguing with one another was the glory we were taught, not activism. That’s all gone now. In all the letters from the alumni group, it’s totally one point of view and the arguing over issues has been taken down, as it has at other universities, whether of Chicago’s quality or not. Chicago was my family school. My mother entered at 16 and met father there. I didn’t apply elsewhere because it was the only school I considered. And I was straight Republican enthusiast, with no problems from other students for my views. Wouldn’t try a discussion class these days.
So sad that the OPEN discussion of issues and ideas has been throttled and diminished. Ironically, the very groups that once were in the forefront of free speech are now the same ones doing their utmost to suppress it.
Well said
In my afternoon sociology class at UT the big casement windows were open. There was raucous Kent State protest going on outside. Our professor stopped class and remarked that here we were talking theory while a revolution was happening right outside out window . . .
Those were some of the defining days of our generation. Someone needs to figure out how we got from that time to this without regaining control of the dialog. I remember being terrified of the riots going on all around the campus in the poor neighborhoods. We were an island always, but never scary except then.
I have always been amazed at the genius displayed in this song… not just the lyrics, which tell the story, but the wonderful use of phrasing such as in the lyric… “The world is dying…… to get better”. They threw in that pause to leave you with one impression (the world is dying) and then rescue the thought with the follow up (to get better)
RIP David. Hotel California is a very good history of those times. Great music Mary. Thanks. 🙂

Thank you garrison… because of your previous recommendation of that book, I got it for my husband last year!
Home Waters, fishing with an old friend is another favorite. It’s about a fishing trip with an elderly lab. Wonderful story. Joseph Monninger is the author.
It is well with my soul…
Good morning, my Beasty Besty Betsy. Was thinking of you today, how you are the incarnate bee, buzzing from flower to flower, collecting pollen and spreading more… flowers. Then, you gather your collection and give the sweetest honey. You are just a jewel and I wanted to share that with you this morning (uhhh, afternoon, because my morning was eaten up before I knew it!)
Oh JWoo….😘 I’m storing that in my heart where I keep unexpected thoughts like your…Bless you so much. A manic bee😁. It’s a real joy for me to do it.
(I hope you saw Colkitto’s long post to me just below. He’s offered condolences to you last night on Danny. I didn’t want you to miss it…)
I did see it. I responded to him. Everyone’s making me want to ADOPT another. I can’t believe I am so torn up over Danny. The poor boy lost another pound in a week, which is equivalent to 15 lbs in a human. He protected me until his bitter end. Hissing and nipping at the vet tech as she went to grab him to set his catheter in place for euthanasia. He backed up into me… keeping the vet tech at bay… and “protecting me”… and it took forever. I am a wreck! He was a HUGE boy… but was only 5 lbs 13 oz at passing.
It isn’t that I am so beholden to dependence on pets. It is that Danny was perfection. Gorgeous. Dignified. Funny. He used to help Savannah with her homework, especially when he was tense. I have pics of him sitting with her, putting his paw on her books and quietly encouraging her when she was exasperated. He was the adult, with the perfectly long curlyque tail that he would wrap around his body… or around you… like a spider monkey.
In this imperfect world… it hurts to lose perfection. Sucking sucking suckety suck suck!!! God is used to me wailing to Him like a petulant child. We have an understanding…
Hooboy do I never understand that!
There are just some animals that grab your heart and are forever there. It does get easier, dear friend. It’s still too fresh. But each one is different. When eventually you decide it’s time to add to your family, you’ll find the one that needs you and Savannah, and that one will bring his or her own personality to bear.
Danny was a one of. I know you’re really feeling his absence. I am grieving with you because we’ve been there too many times. And I am so sorry. Time will take care of the worst and change the grief into loving memories. This I promise…
…ever, not never (but you knew that I expect)
Amen! 🙂

Great kitty with wonderful blue eyes. (Well, I’m assuming the other matches.)
Leon… you give me much GRIEF, kind Sir. You about did me in with your restful post of the gorgeous Russian Blue the other day. I lost it!!! So much like my sweet, too soon departed, Danny!
Now… I must be tortured with your pictures of utter cuteness that inspire me to go and ADOPT ADOPT ADOPT!!!
I’ve got two fur children left and a teenager, Leon. Don’t do it to me, man!!!
You keep this up and I will cave. I am a weak, weak woman, Leon!!!
I’ve been thinking about you jwoo…. You’ll know when the time is right for another 🙂
True, Slowcobra. The one who needs her the most will absolutely make itself known at just the right moment. Ask me how I know…😉
Slowcobra – you are right. However, I had in my mind’s design that I am of the age that I do not wish to adopt anymore. I don’t want my pet to outlive me. We are down to 2. Danny’s 12 year old brother and a 3 yo Maine Coon Harold. Plus my 17 year old daughter. So… I think I’ve enough????
I say that… then get too easily suckered by an ASPCA advertisement.
Never ever say never. It comes back to bite you😉 Right now we are saying it because we are older. But I know I haven’t chiseled it in stone…
Said that about living in L.A. – yeah, did that twice. Never again (oh wait!)
Oh bless.A refugee from LA.
Was there one time for Disneyland when my first was 5. I said never again…and I have stuck to it!
Enjoy a little of Satie’s solace, Treeper friends . . .
Good morning, Garrison. Much needed. One cannot hear this enough times.
I discovered this, again from Vaughan Williams.
“The River Solent is a now extinct river which during the Paleocene would have flowed around the area which is now the coastline of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.”
I thing Vaughan Williams was in a reverie when he wrote this, imagining himself floating down it…peaceful. We could all use a lot of that.
So lovely! I hope when the Lord comes, we can see England. I have of course seen lots of pictures, but this music makes me think, it must be a very beautiful country: Vaughan Williams sure had a peace with it, didn’t he?
He did, Michael. As long as one is in the countryside, it is glorious. In Wales and Scotland as well.
Lovely, Bet. Thanks. 🙂
Most welcome, my friend. Be well.😘
Just got back from lunch with an old friend, a full professor, who really saved my bacon at a critical time. He’s 88 now and, although a little ragged around the edges (I teased him, telling him he’s past the “Use By” date), but still going strong. Long may he wave!
And so say I as well!!😁
88 is no age. I say this as one headed in that direction. I am so pleased for your afternoon, dear Garrison. You were probably as good for him as he was for you💕
Hello Garrison – I hope you don’t mind I contribute to the French Impressionist (if I got that right) mood.
Debussy: Reverie
You can never have enough beautiful music. Thanks. 🙂
Music we know and the oh so many works we will discover!
Impressionism at the MET – Joseph Blanchard
🙂
Oh Mary… now we’re talking. Impressionist art (swoon). Thinking of you, too, this morning. you are a wealth of incredible history and stories. So incredibly talented. It is a joy to see you here and make your acquaintance. Almost took you up on your offer of a cutting from your unique plant. Alas, a dear one to me passed on of neuroendocrine cancer and her family was going to dispose of her plants. I used to care for her plants when she would head back to her primary residence in Valparaiso, IN. I couldn’t let my Kris’s plants die… so I joke that she laughs from Heaven having given me an ongoing project. I have so many – our air in our home must be the cleanest. Plus, I would worry I would kill your plant. I’m not the greatest — but I am a work in process. Hugs to you sister.
So very deeply sorry for your loss, JWoo. I’m glad you’ve adopted a new family. Not only will they remind you of your friend, but they were there in her life and you can share the little stories and jokes with them of events that they were background for. Whenever you want my clipping to join your family, just ask. And if you kill it, perhaps it can bring stories of her family to your friend, and you can ask for another, and another until ONE of them has a successful adoption. I must have forty or more cuttings taking root in the vase.
We have a great Treehouse family, Mary Van Deusen. Hugs and joy to you, sister. I’ll keep in mind about the cutting. XXXOOO
The paintings perfectly match the mood – peaceful sad and lonely
Good morning Garrison!
Hi’ya Gramps. Have a great day! 🙂
Good morning (afternoon), GrandpaM.
Hope your SIL’s pacemaker is suiting her well and she’s home and all is right with the world. Truly feeling blessed by all these townsfolk here who make our little digital enclave so beautiful.
Can’t wait to be with you all in our magic coffeeshop in the sky – not the twitter kind – the real cup o’ joe.
You all are amazing.
We are that little village in Brigadoon…without the bagpipes of course…
“Wedding Scene from Brigadoon”
Oh wow… Brigadoon… one of my father’s very favorites. I know it well. But, now I feel the need to share Brigadoon my girl. She would love it. Sharing our history is something we lack with our new generation.
It’s such a good movie. Clean, wholesome, entertaining… everything that has passed by, I am sorry to say.
It hasn’t passed in Korean and Chinese movies and dramas. Everything you loved about TV in our youth (I’m currently working on The Ghost and Mrs Muir), they have in their work, but with the production quality of today. Maybe it won’t last because Hollywood will contaminate it, too, but, for now, there IS TV with good moral values. Just not in the states.
The Ghost and Mrs Muir is one of my favourites. I introduced it to my granddaughter long ago when she was 6. Every time she was with me after she asked to see it. The score was perfection, and I’m sure that had a great deal to do with my love for that film.
I cannot wait to see your finished product!
You are right about television here. We had no problem in cutting the cord.
cheap monthly subscriptions; especially compared with american TV; MASSIVE numbers of dramas and movies; Korean dramas frequently 16 episodes; Chinese dramas frequently 24; can go much higher; brilliant plots and you learn about another culture painlessly

Oh my, Betsy, the bagpipes reminded me of a little temper tantrum I had several years ago. The ‘folks’ across the street from me decided to blare out their Mexican Ranchera music. I have never cared much for the Mexican Ranchera music So, i went out to my truck, put in a tape of bagpipe music, turned the volume way up, opened the doors and windows and went back into my house..
After about half an hour one of their kids who speak English came over and asked why I was playing such horrible music. Glad you asked, I told her. Then I explained I really didn’t care to listen to their music selections either.
She went home and told her dad. And just like that, no more blaring Ranchera music.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!!
Which reminds me. I see Seven Elevens in parts of Texas and other states are starting to play opera at multi decibels to drive off those addicts who hang about. Last heard, it seems to be working.
Wow! Wish they would do that around here. It would really be a draw for me to go into their store.
Good afternoon JWoo! All is quiet today and the pacemaker seems to be working just fine. I’m working really hard at doing nothing. 🙂 (almost)
Doing nothing… sounds delightful. You rock on with your bad self Gramps! LOL
Good morning (afternoon), Garrison.
Wanted to mention that you are a person who I would love to take by the arm and go have a beer with. The stories you tell! I imagine they are just the tip of the iceberg to your wealth of knowledge. You’re one cool cat. This morning, I was pondering your recent revelations here… and how sensitive and personal they are. I imagined our good and gracious Lord, Jesus Christ, giving you a warm handshake and pulling you with that hand into His warm embrace. You are so loved, precious gentleman. It is an honor to share in your snippets of wisdom. Carry on, good Sir!
…and so say we all, my friend💕
🙂
💕
Awww, shucks . . . (stubbing toe in the dirt) . . . Going for a night of slow drinking and good conversation was (now is again) a favorite passtime, something that caregiving never had room for, alas. Your kind words are much appreciated. Thank you so much. 🙂
I’ll trade you slow drinking and good conversation for the 80’s mix cd that I’m blaring to the teen girls. It’s HILARIOUS! One has children, so we can torture them. They had terrific time at hibachi and sushi… now are painting quietly in the kitchen. Movie later.
They’re teens so I have 2 or 3 more years before slow drinking happens again. (Maybe)
Huge fan of not only the music, but the artistry, as well, G.
🙂
A MIGHTY FORTRESS
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How To Face The Last Days Without Fear! – Derek Prince HD
Job 1:11-12 “But put forth Your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.”
One of the most questioned portions of Scripture; and yet, the answer is in the very words themselves. Why did the LORD give it to Satan to attack Job? Because his accusation was that Job would curse God if God did evil to him. The LORD knew His servant Job was a singular man of strength of character and integrity; and that his faith and love was not dependent upon only good things happening to him. The ugliness came from Satan’s own heart, which falsely accused the man of God: and God knew He could trust Job without any hesitation.
Along with Satan’s outward influences, and his power to rob, kill, and to destroy; but he also had strongholds under his control, and powerful forces at his command. He is called the prince of the power of the air; and it is in the air where he works in the minds of those who are enslaved by him. Many likely have no idea that they are slaves to Satan; and they are unaware that thoughts they have, are actually in revolt against the Spirit of God, and His people. Job’s wife was open to Satan’s influences, and so he manipulated her natural pain and pity for her husband’s sufferings, to get her to suggest brazenly, “Curse God and die!” Later it was his friends; who from the moment they “couldn’t recognize him” because of the terrible boils all over him, after sitting silently for a week with him on the ground; all of a sudden forgot who their friend really was, and took up a merciless and relentless attack on his character, to try and wear him down and give up his integrity.
Each one in his own proper order, we all have to stand against the devil and all his power and deceit working in people many times very close to us, for proving that God’s trust in us is well placed. The devil is a liar and a slanderer, and he walks up and down through the earth looking for whom he may devour: and seeing us, just makes him absolutely distracted; and he goes to God seeking to prove that he is right, and with enough evil, we too will curse God to His face. We have all the weapons we need for this warfare given to us by God in His Word. Plus, He has given us His Holy Spirit, plus we have His holy angels fighting for us, and ministering unto us; but it is up to us to do the standing and fighting and overcoming.
Psalm 149:5-9 “Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all His saints.”
Saw this band in San Francisco in the early 70s. They were loud, but great.
Kitty says, “Good morning Treepers”

Incredible emotion in that little face.
He looks like he’s gonna be a serious one. 🙂 A Tiger!
That made me laugh. My father’s nickname was Tiger when he was boxing in the army. There is nothing but tiger in those tiny, little ones when they first wake up and curl up around your wrist, claws out and ready for battle. Then lunch. Then nap.
I’m glad I make you laugh! 🙂
Sometimes that is exactly what is needed, so many thanks. Let’s see if this shows up. It was the graphic for my father’s poetry column at U of Chicago’s Maroon newspaper. The Blind Tiger.
Good morning, Joe. He looks as if really wants to say something😁
I’m with Mary on this…a happy chappie if ever I saw one.
Good morning, Bet and Mary. Sorry the image is so large; I thought I minimized it enough so it wouldn’t take up half the page.
Oh, well. We love our kitties. They brighten not only our thread, but our lives in general.
Morning, Joe. Looks fine on my screen. They are the dearest creatures.
Don’t apologize. The bigger the better. They do brighten our lives, especially when we are vetted and approved to be in their company. They are their own”people”. Only lovers of cats would understand that.💕
Gimme, gimme, Joe 12 Pack. Between you and Leon – you’re killing me, smalls!!!!
What gives with all the torture of the perfect little hideaway cabins and fuzzy snuggly cuteness? Find me that cabin… I need a vacation. And the cat.
Will this help?
@Betsy Jones
Thank you so much for that video on Hedge creation. Made me think of the Shire and the Thornbrake from the Mithgar series which the author heavily borrowed from Tolkien.
I’ve had a rotten week at work, that’s why I haven’t been posting here on the wonderful OT, or getting back to your wonderful posts. Sorry. It’s over and now I do not have to worry about doing it again for 2 months
Reading about the Cat fan club here headed by Leon and the wonderful stories that Jwoo sparked (my condolences ma’am) I am contemplating getting 2 cats preferably siblings. I am also torn on getting another dog, weighing out my options.
Reading all the cat love, and finding an old picture of me at 12 holding my 8 week old kitten Smokey, has got me thinking about getting another cat (s)
So thank you as always friend Bet, and the Treehouse for doing more for me than just reading political information & insights. Slainte

Oh bless, Colkitto. I had missed you, but you said you were hither and yon, so figured life had you by the tail rather than the other way around.
I wrote the other day that if we were to have cats again, I would have 2 rather than one. I’m thinking of (and missing) Casco Bay Boy who has two who go outside and come when called. How he managed that I have no idea. I think 2 for you, my friend…when you’re at work they would have each other for company.
That hedge video was short, but I’ve seen longer ones. I knew you’d like it because of the reference to keeping them properly done and full for the birds and other wildlife.
I’m just having a cup of tea to go along with a slight case of insomnia. My mind’s a whirl with everything and nothing. Perhaps for the lovely reason of catching your post and having a video to watch while I wait for Mr Sandman to pay me a visit.😉
I hope your rough, terrible week is a one of (or as is said in Britain a “one off”) and that there’ll be no more repeats. My oldest had one just like it before Christmas. She kept saying, “If I can just get to Friday…” So I am all sympathy.
Off to watch your link and then to off to gwelli (Welsh for “bed”). Take care and be well, dear friend. I’ll be on the lookout for you in our various threads and branches. Bet😘
Good night Bet. You are the best!
Good night, Colkitto. Thank you for thinking so🤗
(Love that sweet corgi!)
Oh, and a corgi! Blessings to all this morning!
Betsy! I, too, have been wondering about casco bay boy!
I was hoping I just missed him either late nights (after our “Amens” to aucitizenmom’s end-of-day prayer), or that he’s on other threads.
Let’s keep an eye out for him!
He is a chief canary, as he said. No time to come up for air. I normally see his Amen at the end of the day, so I would know he is reading, and on the Prayer Thread.
But it has been a while….praying for his good health and the good health of all he loves.🙏
Colkitto…
Glad to have you here and you’ve been released from the work bondage to swing from the tree branches here a little… with shoes off… feet dangling… toes wiggling.
Regarding the impression on your soul to adopt…. DOOOOOOOOO IT!!!!!! LOL You need something soft licking your toes, or attacking your feetsoes when you’re trying to slumber. The purrs, the giggles, the fuzzy whiskers… so worth it. Siblings even better… though there’s a whole dynamic to that when the time comes to part that is pretty much hell.
But, isn’t love worth a little bit of hell?
Yes!!! JWoo and I have spoken, Colkitto. Now…as we say in Wales…do as you’re told by these two bossy ladies. We know of what we speak😉💕
“tag team at Tree time” (giggle)

absolutely a favorite…
i hadnt heard about david …
He took drama classes at Santa Barbara City College and lived in Montecito, California for a while. I did 5 semesters at Santa Barbara City College in the mid 70s. Montecito is approximately 20 miles south of where I was raised.
He was a great musician throughout his career.
The only CSN &Y album I still own. I wish for peace but hear the words of Patrick Henry; “Gentlemen can call Peace, Peace, but there can be no Peace.”
RIP David Crosby
I’ve always loved the Buffalo Springfield, CSN, & CSN&Y sound. Unique Folk rock. Good remembrance friend. I think of my old friend who turned me onto CSN&Y, Springfield, crosby, Young etc
I started listening to them when I was in high school. Deja vu was my favorite album.
grahmn nash :
“Well, it’s an ordinary moment. What happened is that Joni [Mitchell] and I – I don’t know whether you know anything about Los Angeles, but on Ventura Boulevard in the Valley, there’s a very famous deli called Art’s Deli. And we’d been to breakfast there. We’re going to get into Joan’s car, and we pass an antique store. And we’re looking in the window, and she saw a very beautiful vase that she wanted to buy … I persuaded her to buy this vase. It wasn’t very expensive, and we took it home. It was a very grey, kind of sleety, drizzly L.A. morning. And we got to the house in Laurel Canyon, and I said – got through the front door and I said, you know what? I’ll light a fire. Why don’t you put some flowers in that vase that you just bought? Well, she was in the garden getting flowers. That meant she was not at her piano, but I was … And an hour later ‘Our House’ was born, out of an incredibly ordinary moment that many, many people have experienced.”
Wow. It’s amazing how a lot of these songs are composed from things that happen in everyday life. That’s an interesting story Graham Nash told about “Our House”. He mentions Los Angeles.
LA is huge. Not just the city itself, but anything from Thousand Oaks to Thousand Palms, from Irvine to San Bernadino, Redlands, etc. Massive urban sprawl until you head into the Mojave Desert.
David Crosby was originally from Los Angeles.
Loved this song! When released it was on repeat in my mind – over fifty years ago! Where has time gone?
Neat story about its beginning, dreamboat..
Berth for one more?? – Having done a bit of (fair weather) sailing, CSN was a must on the boat, especially the track Lee Shore. Perfect for a flat Caribbean “dream” sail – not so much in the south Atlantic grey though. RIP David. Your music lives on.

Morning Ya’ll 🙂
One last Good Morning, Mr jay, before I drift bedwards. After this beautiful picture, which reminds me of the world of Aslan , I think those ole covers will be quite welcome. You can almost see the children tumbling out of the back of the wardrobe…
What a wonderful thought. I can picture Mr Tumnus walking through the trees to meet the children in the picture. Do you know the great British Wonderworks did a beautiful collection of Narnia stories that pre-date the movies? They would be a great gift idea to your grandchildren. I have them I believe they were done in the 90’s before Cultural marxist PC. You as well as your children, and grandchildren would love them.
My daughter and her husband and their triplets plus one just moved to a larger house. There is a room positioned upstairs that she is turning into a “secret” reading room.
The entrance she is planning is Narnia-like. As you know they are are all voracious readers, taught almost from the moment they arrived. All of your recommendations I’ve passed on and all were accepted with gratitude.
I did not know about these, Colkitto. The British used to be so good wth their productions. They set a high bar for everyone else….alas they, too, have indeed fallen into a deep dark hole with no exit. Even the Father Brown series (new one coming up) has morphed into something GK Chesterton would weep over. Artistic liberty taken way to far.
It is a tragedy.
You are RIGHT. Mr. Tumnus! My daughter is having a slumber party tonight with a teen girlfriend and I think the Chronicles of Narnia would make an excellent cap to our evening after sushi / hibachi dinner.
All three, m’dear! Enjoy the girls😊

Love Deep Purple, one of the godfathers and major influencers on the Heavy Metal genre. I always loved “Stormbringer” because it is about Michael Moorcock’s Elric of Melnibone’s sword which means at least one member was a Elric fan.

I was lucky enough to see a few of these during my Warbler walks back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. They are amongst a group of warblers that ‘skulk’ near the ground. (Opornis) They are quite beautiful, and usually late migrants (end of spring).
The “grail” bird of this group is the Connecticut which is very similar looking to this beautiful Mourning Warbler. I considered this bird to be a very high on my sought after Warbler list more than likely only after a Connecticut & a Golden-winged, though strangely I believe I saw a very unlikely Kirtland’s Warbler one Spring which would have made the Birding news.
I hope you’ve seen “The Big Year”. Pure enjoyment for those who, like you, have found their passion in watching for little beauties such as this tiny creature with his quizzical look.
Keep watching…one day…💕
Good morning Bet! Hope you got some sleep.
I was up early this morning, took Nipper to school. A minute late but so was everyone else so no tardies. Squeezing in an early workout and we’ll see what the day brings. My bride had a little lesson for Nipper today about the Lord’s Prayer and praying before meals which we always do. After we started driving he and I called her and we all said the Lord’s Prayer together. Used to do that when she was driving our now grown grands to school. That’s the 19 yo and his 22 yo sister . ❤️😘
Good morning, G 😘 What a gift you are to Nipper, as he is for you. What a lifelong comfort it will be for him, and knowing you both were helping to know Christ? There are no words.
There is so much one can teach on those short school runs. I did it with ours, now driving themselves. I can’t help but wonder if, as a part of God’s plan for them, we are where we are, so we could pass on the valuable words and lessons we’ve come to know. I’d like to to think so…🙏
You made me remember this, which I’ve put here before. A simple Grace before a meal which my father in law composed. I have always loved it because it is a simple one which I felt was Inspired.
Gentle Jesus, be our Guest.
Share this food thy Life hath blessed.
We, in humble turn, shall feast
Upon thy kindness, love, and grace.
Amongst ourselves we called it The Amazing Grace because he was not an overtly religious man. That he penned this surprised us all. But as is said, still waters run deep…in his case very deep indeed.
Stay fit. Wondering if the fellow showed up for your Jag…
Hoping your SIL is doing well with her pacemaker…if it has made her feel better (crossed fingers).
Blessings to you always, my dear brother. Don’t over do!!!🙏💕
Love the Grace before meals.
Left you a note about the Jag last night. Made it there just fine.
SIL doing well, yesterday was still tired from the day before but hear rate steady at 75.
I am trying really hard to do nothing for the rest of the day But my bride is working with my SIL’s accounting firm on her taxes and I am on call for computer help which could be at anytime. Already had 1 call, and just as I was typing this I got the second one. Both resolved to my bride’s satisfaction. 🙂
Blessings back at you, dear sister.
Oh good. Ugh…taxes…theft.
Apparently juststevie is heavily involved with this most horrible of seasons.
I took a tax accounting course at UT. Taught by an ex FBI man…probably from the fraud division. I’ve never sweated a course out as I did that one.
When we were applying for a green card for my husband, all was going swimmingly. Then on night before we had his interview at the American Embassy, I was checking that all the paperwork was proper. And suddenly I saw that I, as an American citizen had to present 5 years of returns.
As I was domiciled in the UK for 20 years and had no assets or income from the US, I assumed I would not to need to file when in fact I did…on my “foreign income, which wasn’t even large enough to file on in the UK.
PANIC!!!
Fortunately (?), my husband still had the keys to the office he worked in which was the only access to computers we had at that moment.
We tore over there to try to find the proper retroactive forms. You know how many there are. Where to start? I had no clue.
But I’m convinced to the bottom of my soul, that Almighty God took pity on me and through his grace pointed me to the ones I needed almost immediately. We printed them off, then spent the next 4 hours sorting those five years out. We were shattered. Took the train to to London, and dropped them into the post there an hour before our appointment. Filed…done.
At the cattle call appointment (which was the oddest thing we’ve ever been through), the woman who checked the squillions of documents we presented asked for one specific year of my tax filings. I handed it will over…
I don’t know what made me suddenly decide to do a final check of what was required before we embarked on our journey to the Embassy. Information I thought we’d been meticulous about….
…yes, I do…He was with us on that fraught night. I am as sure of that as I’ve ever been of anything else in my life. Deo gratias!!🙏
(and a loud phooey!!!!! to the IRS 😤)
The End
Yes, it was His mighty hand guiding you. Blessed be His holy Name!
Got the diagnosis on the Jag.Bad ignition coil, cylinder 6, the very last one but easy to get to. $87 and change after taxes at O’Reilly Auto Parts. That’s the discounted mechanic’s price, plus the labor but he is always very reasonable. We go ways back. They’ll deliver it on Monday. Ready to drive the Jag again, has been sitting for over a month.
Oh that’s not too bad. It’s always good to have good mechanic, plumber, etc with whom you have good rapport. Hubs goes to O’Reilly’s for his car bits and pieces, then does the work himself if it’s not too involved. He’s taken apart and put back together every sort of vehicle… Bikes, coaches, cars…since “he were a lad, aye-up” as they say in Yorkshire.
Woe betide any mechanic who tries to tell him something that’s not so.
Glad you’ve got that sorted!👍
Matthew 18:1-6 “In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greater in the kingdom of the heavens? And Jesus having called to a little child, He set it in their midst, and said, Verily I say to you, unless you are converted and become as the little children, in no wise shall you enter into the kingdom of the heavens. Whosoever therefore will humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens: and whoever will receive one such little child in My Name, receives Me: but whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in Me to *stumble (sin, fall away), it is profitable for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung upon his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.”
What clearly stands out the most from this passage, is how precious and dear to Him, are the little ones who believe in Him. They are the Standard by which He will let everyone in! Whatever people think how great they are, and envision Jesus announcing them especially before the assembled universe; Jesus said, that unless we are converted, (which means, changed from what we are already, naturally), and become as the little children, WE SHALL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM AT ALL! So much for all the illusions of grandeur!
Next to that, Jesus says, that whatever we do to these, we do to Him. Just like He says in Matthew 25, when the King is sitting on the throne of His glory, and all the nations are standing before Him to be judged. The books all being opened, whatever was done, or not done to these little ones, will be the measure by which everyone will either be saved or perish. I don’t think anyone who has read this passage, hasn’t tried to imagine, and been scared to death; for there couldn’t be a more horrifying doom, than to have a millstone tied around the neck, and then be thrown into the sea, to be pulled down to the bottom! But Jesus says that that would be better than what is in store for those who cause any of His little ones to stumble, or sin, or fall away.
From about all that the disciples were always talking about, Who among them is the greatest; the problem with their thinking, is something completely common to our carnal nature; and that is Idolatry. Whatever the disciples thought that the coming of the kingdom would look like; their minds were obviously quite distracted with all of them wondering, “What will I do? and, How great will I be in the kingdom?” This, I believe, was a bigger problem than any of them realized; up until that terrible night, when Jesus was arrested, and all their fantasies, and everything “they thought” would happen, crumbled in disaster under reality.
Now the Lord is very kind and gentle with them; even while He knows how badly they got it all wrong; and makes it simple and straight to the point. Wanting to be great in the kingdom of heaven isn’t in itself a bad thing; but the way they were looking at themselves, and just expecting it to be a certain way; that needed to be addressed.
There was an issue with them, that they thought they were something better than “ordinary men” because they were with Jesus, and were His specially called ‘apostles to be.’ So what Jesus makes immediately clear to them, is that Salvation at all, is conditional upon meeting a certain expectation of God: which is, being converted, and becoming as the little children; or there is no entrance at all. So before wondering about how important we will be in the kingdom that is to come, we have enough to be careful about, to learn from Jesus meekness and lowliness of heart.
If we find ourselves, like the disciples, struggling with ongoing thoughts about, who is the greatest; the thing that is worse, is how it makes us unable to hear or understand what Jesus is telling us about His having to go to Jerusalem; making us utterly unprepared for what must happen. The single most important thing that God is doing with respect to man, and all the reason for Him even allowing man to continue living on the earth, is about to be finished; but idolatry and vanity have rendered many nearly unconscious, and their hearts calloused to everything Jesus is doing and teaching. This is something that we have to set in order before God, and carefully maintain, as our entire salvation depends on it: either be converted, and become as a little child who believes in Jesus, and be welcomed into the kingdom of heaven; or be full of self, and vain thoughts, and miss the whole reason for life, (which is, to be saved); and perish like beasts.
So what is it to become as a little child? They say that the “formative years” are up until about 8-10 years old; when we learn most of our intelligence. It might be instructive then, to learn what it is about that time in life, that we can apply to being a Christian. We would do well to study little children, and see what it is that Jesus is talking about. Innocent, and little in our own eyes. Simple in the sense of believing all things. Having a tender conscience, and afraid of evil. Dependent upon its parents for everything. Teachable. All of it! And what we don’t know, we have to learn, and do it.
Casting Down Strongholds | Derek Prince
A beautiful essay, Michael.
As John Kerry, Al Gore, the satanic excresence Harari and the rest of the self annointed gather in Davos to spew their illusions of being higher than Almighty God, Who they airily dismiss as a fiction, I fear I’ve lost their addresses to send this to them. Pity…there really are those who would rather reign in Hell than to serve in Heaven.
Well said; but I would guess that most if not all have heard the gospel at some point, especially those who come from the “Bible-belt.” They’ve made their choices. The thing they really don’t understand, is that Satan has no friends or allegiances to those who serve him. When he’s done using them for his designs, he will simply destroy them without a thought. Meanwhile, God has everything being written down into books, that will at one point all be opened! And if they are not found in the Lamb’s Book of Life; then that’s it!
I doubt they consider that satan exists either, Michael, even though they know him intimately, whether they realize it or , as I suspect, not.

Smith Wigglesworth – Ever Increasing Faith
Chapter 3 – The Power of the Name
Scripture Reading — Acts 3:1-16
All things are possible through the name of Jesus. God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow. There is power to overcome everything in the world through the Name of Jesus. I am looking forward to a wonderful union through the Name of Jesus. There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. I want to instill into you a sense of the power, the virtue and the glory of that Name.
Six people went into the house of a sick man to pray for him. He was an Episcopal vicar, and lay in bed utterly helpless, without even strength to help himself. He had read a little tract about healing and had heard about people praying for the sick, and sent for these friends, who, he thought, could pray the prayer of faith. He was anointed according to James 5:14, but, because he had no immediate manifestation of healing, he wept bitterly. The six people walked out of the room, somewhat crestfallen to see the man lying there in an unchanged condition.
When they were outside, one of the six said, “There is one thing we might have done. I wish you would all go back with me and try it.” They went back and all got together in a group. This brother said, “Let us whisper the Name of Jesus.” At first when they whispered this worthy Name nothing seemed to happen. But as they continued to whisper, “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” the power began to fall. As they saw that God was beginning to work, their faith and joy increased, and they whispered the Name louder and louder. As they did so the man arose from his bed and dressed himself. The secret was just this, those six people had gotten their eyes off the sick man, and they were just taken up with the Lord Jesus Himself, and their faith grasped the power that there is in His Name. Oh if people would only appreciate the power that there is in this Name, there is no telling what would happen.
I know that through His Name and through the power of His Name we have access to God. The very face of Jesus fills the whole place with glory. All over the world there are people magnifying that Name, and Oh what a joy it is for me to utter it.
One day I went up into the mountain to pray. I had a wonderful day. It was one of the high mountains of Wales. I heard of one man going up this mountain to pray, and the Spirit of the Lord met him so wonderfully that his face shone like that of an angel when he returned. Every one in the village was talking about it. As I went up to this mountain and spent the day in the Presence of the LORD, His wonderful power seemed to envelop and saturate and fill me.
Two years before this time there had come to our house two lads from Wales. They were just ordinary lads, but they became very zealous for God. They came to our mission and saw some of the works of God. They said to me, “We would not be surprised if the Lord brings you down to Wales to raise our Lazarus.” They explained that the leader of their assembly was a man who had spent his days working in a tin mine and his nights preaching, and the result was that he had collapsed, gone into consumption, and for four years he had been a helpless invalid, having to be fed with a spoon.
While I was up on that mountain top I was reminded of the transfiguration scene, and I felt that the Lord’s only purpose in taking us into the glory was to fit us for greater usefulness in the valley.
Tongues and Interpretation: “The living God has chosen us for His divine inheritance, and He it is who is preparing us for our ministry, that it may be of God and not of man.”
As I was on the mountain top that day, the Lord said to me, “I want you to go and raise Lazarus.” I told the brother who accompanied me of this, and when we got down to the valley, I wrote a postcard: “When I was up on the mountain praying today, God told me that I was to go and raise Lazarus.” I addressed the postcard to the man in the place whose name had been given to me by the two lads. When we arrived at the place we went to the man to whom I had addressed the card. He looked at me and said, “Did you send this?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Do you think we believe in this? Here, take it.” And he threw it at me. The man called a servant and said, “Take this man and show him Lazarus.” Then he said to me, “The moment you see him you will be ready to go home. Nothing will hold you.” Everything he said was true from the natural viewpoint. The man was helpless. He was nothing but a mass of bones with skin stretched over them. There was no life to be seen. Everything in him spoke of decay. I said to him, “Will you shout? You remember that at Jericho the people shouted while the walls were still up. God has like victory for you if you will only believe.” But I could not get him to believe. There was not an atom of faith there. He had made up his mind not to have anything.
It is a blessed thing to learn that God’s word can never fail. Never hearken to human plans. God can work mightily when you persist in believing Him in spite of discouragements from the human standpoint. When I got back to the man to whom I had sent the postcard, he asked, “Are you ready to go now?” I am not moved by what I see. I am moved only by what I believe. I know this — no man looks at appearances if he believes. No man considers how he feels if he believes. The man who believes God has it. Every man who comes into the Pentecostal condition can laugh at all things and believe God. There is something in the Pentecostal work that is different from anything else in the world. Somehow, in Pentecost, you know that God is a reality. Wherever the Holy Ghost has right of way, the gifts of the Spirit will be in manifestation; and where these gifts are never in manifestation, I question whether He is present. Pentecostal people are spoiled for anything else than Pentecostal meetings. We want none of the entertainments that the churches are offering. When God comes in He entertains us Himself. Entertained by the King of kings and Lord of lords! Oh, it is wonderful.
There were difficult conditions in that Welsh village, and it seemed impossible to get the people to believe. “Ready to go home?” I was asked. But a man and a woman there asked us to come and stay with them. I said, “I want to know how many of you people can pray.” No one wanted to pray. I asked if I could get seven people to pray with me for the poor man’s deliverance. I said to the two people who were going to entertain us, “I will count on you two, and there is my friend and myself, and we need three others.” I told the people that I trusted that some of them would awaken to their privilege and come in the morning and join us in prayer for the raising of Lazarus. It will never do to give way to human opinions. If God says a thing, you are to believe it.
I told the people that I would not eat anything that night. When I got to bed it seemed as if the devil tried to place on me everything that he had placed on that poor man in the bed. When I awoke I had a cough and all the weakness of a tubercular patient. I rolled out of bed on to the floor and cried out to God to deliver me from the power of the devil. I shouted loud enough to wake everybody in the house, but nobody was disturbed. God gave victory, and I got back into bed again as free as ever I was in my life.
At 5 o’clock the Lord awakened me and said to me, “Don’t break bread until you break it round My table.” At six o’clock He gave me these words, “And I will raise him up.” I put my elbow into the fellow who was sleeping with me. He said, “Ugh!” I put my elbow into him again and said, “Do you hear? The Lord says that He will raise him up.” At 8 o’clock they said to me, “Have a little refreshment.” But I have found prayer and fasting the greatest joy, and you will always find it so when you are led by God.
When we went to the house where Lazarus lived there were eight of us altogether. No one can prove to me that God does not always answer prayer. He always does more than that. He always gives the exceedingly abundant above all we ask or think.
I shall never forget how the power of God fell on us as we went into that sick man’s room. Oh it was lovely! As we circled round the bed I got one brother to hold one of the sick man’s hands and I held the other; and we each held the hand of the person next to us. I said, “We are not going to pray, we are just going to use the Name of Jesus.” We all knelt down and whispered that one word, “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” The power of God fell and then it lifted. Five times the power of God fell and then it remained. But the person who was in the bed was unmoved. Two years previous someone had come along and had tried to raise him up, and the devil had used his lack of success as a means of discouraging Lazarus. I said, “I don’t care what the devil says; if God says he will raise you up it must be so. Forget everything else except what God says about Jesus.” The sixth time the power fell and the sick man’s lips began moving and the tears began to fall. I said to him, “The power of God is here; it is yours to accept it.” He said, “I have been bitter in my heart, and I know I have grieved the Spirit of God. Here I am helpless. I cannot lift my hands, nor even lift a spoon to my mouth.” I said, “Repent, and God will hear you.” He repented and cried out, “O God, let this be to Thy glory.” As he said this the virtue of the Lord went right through him. I have asked the Lord to never let me tell this story except as it was, for I realize that God can not bless exaggerations.
As we again said, “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” the bed shook, and the man shook. I said to the people that were with me, “You can all go down stairs right away. This is all God. I’m not going to assist him.” I sat and watched that man get up and dress himself. We sang the doxology as he walked down the steps. I said to him, “Now tell what has happened.” It was soon noised abroad that Lazarus had been raised up and the people came from Llanelly and all the district round to see him and hear his testimony. And God brought salvation to many. This man told right out in the open air what God had done, and as a result many were convicted and converted. All this came through the Name of Jesus, through faith in His Name, yea, the faith that is by Him gave this sick man perfect soundness in the presence of them all.

I believe.
This man was delivered because of your faith in the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
God the Father heard.
The true servants of the LORD like Smith Wigglesworth are exceeding rare and precious; but the message they had from God for us was sent for a reason. I want to know the LORD like Moses and David and the prophets knew Him; I want to know the LORD like He has ever made us to know Him.
Thank you for the Mutual Faith and Encouragement! 🙂

We decided to have Swing Low, Sweet Chariot played at the end of the funeral service as people filed out to go to the grave side service.
It turns out that Johnny Cash did at least three different versions of that song. The older he got the slower the tempo. We decided on one of the older versions. This one I think.
The LORD bless you rah.
Beautiful, Rah…my eyes are leaking….Again, may the Lord bless all y’all and may you find peace and comfort.
I hope you found comfort, rah. It’s a tough time for the family until the raw pain turns into memories and anecdotes.
Rah,
Good morning (afternoon) to you, as well. I said a special prayer for you and your family this morning, that the memories of your father bring forth much laughter… the sweet “my belly hurts!”… kind. That your reunion with your family tomorrow is beautiful, enriching, and strengthening. That your father’s memories can bring forth such joy… that his homecoming is cheered for!!!
And with much anticipation of our own homecoming, through our Lord Jesus Christ, springs forth hopefulness and joy that surpasses all reasonable understanding. Let your tears be ones of joy and anticipation! Until you meet your sweet Papa again in glorious eternity!
The earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. Love to you and Sherry.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

The quintessential Meat Loaf…………………
Just finished watching this . Alot of comments about this movie in Sundance’s article about FBI Christopher Wray attending WEF conference. Very strange and disturbing portrayal of what the future might look like.
I had commented about this yesterday….scary times.
Wow, been a while since i have seen the movie…Max Von Sydow…wasn’t he in “The Sound of Music”?
He was a brilliant actor. His performance in Three Days of the Condor as a contract “cleaner” for the government was perfection. I’m sure there are people in the employ of the government just like him in this movie.
You might be thinking of Christopher Plummer in “The Sound of Music”. Max Von Sydow was in “The Exorcist”, “Hawaii”, Robin Hood”, “Needful Things”, etc. He was very accomplished actor who played in many big box office movies over the years.
Needful Things and Dune come to mind as well.

Are You Fresh For Everything?
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. — John 3:3
Sometimes we are fresh for a prayer meeting but not fresh for cleaning boots!
Being born again of the Spirit is an unmistakable work of God, as mysterious as the wind, as surprising as God Himself. We do not know where it begins, it is hidden away in the depths of our personal life. Being born again from above (RV mg) is a perennial, perpetual and eternal beginning; a freshness all the time in thinking and in talking and in living, the continual surprise of the life of God. Staleness is an indication of something out of joint with God — “I must do this thing or it will never be done.” That is the first sign of staleness. Are we freshly born this minute, or are we stale, raking in our minds for something to do? Freshness does not come from obedience but from the Holy Spirit; obedience keeps us in the light as God is in the light.
Guard jealously your relationship to God. Jesus prayed “that they may be one, even as we are one” — nothing between. Keep all the life perennially open to Jesus Christ, don’t pretend with Him. Are you drawing your life from any other source than God Himself? If you are depending upon anything but Him, you will never know when He is gone.
Being born of the Spirit means much more than we generally take it to mean. It gives us a new vision and keeps us absolutely fresh for everything by the perennial supply of the life of God.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
Jesus Christ can afford to be misunderstood; we cannot. Our weakness lies in always wanting to vindicate ourselves.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
I often wonder if The Father wishes we would spend more time rejoicing and glorifying Him…and wishes we would give our troubles over to him and be at peace….and thankful for what we have….
We should remember to pray for HIS desires.
What would that be?
To be KNOWN, honored and loved.
Yes, yes, and yes. He delights in us doing all of that.
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Heading to the March for Life today.
Remembering when Mr Trump stood side by side with this March. Godspeed!🙏
I hope that you see and hear Coach Tony Dungee.
I’m reading he gave a wonderful address.
Verse of the Day for Friday, January 20, 2023
✟
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
Ephesians 5:20 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
Amen! For the wonders of the world, nature and man made, all had God’s hand in them…..
“….Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, bring all souls to heaven especially those in most need of Thy Mercy…”
What a difference a year makes….it was about this time last year, I was preparing myself to lose a good and dear dog…
Life became very quiet in April….in September, prepared for a newbie….
He has been with us now, since Thanksgiving…he still has the bladder size of a blueberry!. He is 5 months old….and a sassy little dude! He is trying to establish himself as alpha dog…the older boy is having none of it….!
Lesson from this adventure….get a puppy born way before the end of August….housebreaking is a cold task for the mid-west winters….
Congratulations on your new pupster! You made me laugh about his bladder activity.
You really have to love those babies to go through house training…Or, as I’m sure we should call it, out of house training. One day it will happen, and suddenly. Then Hallelujah!!
They are so worth the wait.

I could live there😍
Oh!!! That is absolutely beautiful!!
I have a nice little bit of fiction I’ve written. Tell me what you think. The plot goes like this.
An old guy of questionable ethics and moderate-at-best intelligence, in a very high political position, has a damaged son looking for quick easy money. The old man has access to top secret documents, so the son decides to sell “access” to his Poppa to foreign governments willing to pay. But “access” here doesn’t mean arranging meetings and whispering in Daddy’s ear. It means sonny rummaging through the old man’s briefcase on weekends and giving you copies of whatever good stuff he finds.
There is a change in administrations, and the old man is supposed to get a new job with the same access. Unfortunately, the other party takes over and sonny is stuck out in the cold with all these secret documents he isn’t supposed to have. So they sit tight and wait.
Next election, party in power changes back, and the old man gets another high position that gives him the same access. So he and sonny decide to cover sonny’s past by sonny giving the secret stuff he has to the old man, who puts it in places he would have kept it if it was only the old man involved. It is made to look like sloppy housekeeping and no one will ever know what happened. “Oh golly, gee whiz, did I do that?” And sonny is covered.
Do you think anyone in Hollywood would buy this story? Maybe for a made-for-TV movie? I can change it around to fit the actors. No? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Not believable.
And this proves my theory that zebras are just horses in pajamas 😁
Ha!!! I agree! Gawgeous!!!
The flip in the weather to a a colder pattern has arrived right on time at my Indiana home about 30 miles NNE of Indianapolis. It is sleeting and the high today will be about 34 deg. By this time next week the lows will be in the teens and highs subfreezing.
So after being idle for a week or so, I lighted a fire in the fireplace insert this morning.
This day of rest I will do a little shopping, bring in a bit of wood to top off the ready stack in the log rack, and pull out my dress shoes and polish them if needed. I will run to the funeral home this afternoon to check that the caterers have gotten things set up and then at 5 PM pick up three trays of cookies for the desert for the dinner tomorrow.
We finished the picture boards yesterday and then sat around and talked about the financial arrangements and how the possessions not specified by Dad will be distributed to family. And we shared stories. My niece interviewed both Mom and Dad before the time came when their memories really started to fade and it is a treasured video we all have now.
I brought home a picture Mom had on the wall that shows Jesus outside a door and about to enter. It was at my Grandmas house on my mothers side and then Mom had it hung in their house, and now it hangs in mine.
When I was in Germany we had sent to Mom & Dad a crystal decanter set with glasses. My nephew didn’t know we gave it Mom & Dad and said he wanted it. I told him about it and told him he could have it because we have our own. He is a good man that had done a lot for Dad around the house after he was unable to do anymore.
I checked out the gun cabinet and its contents. Dad had specified who gets what and I wanted to make sure it was all there. I will get the gun cabinet as per Dad’s wishes. I get the 20 GA pump shotgun I was taught to shoot Trap and Skeet with and was fitted to me after I graduated from a .410 by my uncle Gib who was a national champion. I took a lot of squirrels and rabbits with that firearm when I was a kid.
Mom collected Elephant figurines. She has about 100 of them from all over the world. They are to go to who ever wants them and I brought home the one I had sent her made out of alabaster from Italy and the ones Sherry and our kids and Grand kids picked out.
And so it goes. Everyday gets a little easier. I’m sleeping much better now.
Love your niece’s mind to capture their interviews. I have an old VHS of my father at his 65th birthday celebration in Indianapolis that I planned from afar when I was in San Antonio. What a fun day that was to completely freak him out and surprise him. A family neighbor friend drove in from Mesa, AZ. I flew my lalf-sister and niece from Idaho. Other half-sister and half-brother were here – so all attended and the ooomp-pa-pa band played at the German American Club while the sisters hopped behind the bar and helped themselves… and anyone else who happened by. Good memories. All of them are gone now, but the good memories remain.
*sigh*
Prayers for y’all, rah.
The Great American Songbook…………
“Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” : 1940 for the Broadway play Pal Joey. Words by Lorenz Hart and music by Richard Rodgers.
A memorable story. I’ve posted it here before but that was a long time ago.
When Dad was drafted he went through basic training and AIT to be a commo man at Ft. Sill, OK.
He volunteered to go Airborne because in 1956 the $50.00 Jump pay was a big addition to a privates pay and because he knew he would be sent to Ft. Campbel, KY to the 101st Abn Div. which was reasonably close to home.
Upon reporting to Jump School at Ft. Campbell, he told the 1st Sgt. of his training company that he had to get his family moved into an apartment. What he didn’t tell him was this his family, My mother and I, were living with her family in Elwood, IN.
Dad drove up and got us and brought us down and got us in an apartment but was of course AWOL. While he was gone a private had tried to cover for him. He had made Dads bunk and set his locker up for him, but couldn’t cover for him when the mustered for formation.
Dad got an article 15 and was sentenced to extra duty while going through jump school! But he and Art Hill, the young private became life long friends. Art would babysit me when Mom & Dad went out.
Fast forward. I had completed Basic training and 91B combat medic AIT. The next step was Jump School at Ft. Benning, GA. I had reported in to company HQ and was upstairs in the barracks making my bunk and arranging my locker when a messenger came up from the Company HQ to tell me I was to report to the Training Battalion Sgt. Major immediately! I ran down and out to the Battalion HQ. You didn’t walk anywhere there, you either marched or ran. I was directed to the door of the Sgt. Major’s office. Knocked and was told the come in. I went in and snapped to Parade Rest in front of his desk. His back was turned to me as he poured himself a cup of coffee. He turned around and it was Art Hill! I had no idea. Dad, of course, had let him know I was coming.
He had me close the door and we talked. When it came to jump week he set it up so he was first out the door and I was right behind him for my first jump.
After the last of the five jumps the troopers run in and get in formation right on the DZ in an area where there was a small set of bleachers. There they get their wings pinned on them. In the stands were Mom & Dad. I had no idea that they would be there! Dad came down and pinned HIS silver wings upon my chest. Not those hollow things they issue now but the solid sterling silver wings they issued when Dad went through.
My eyes are leaking. What a wonderful story. Thank you for telling it again. I must’ve missed it the first time.
I’m crying too. God bless you, Rah. Oh that our children will share such stories about us when we depart!!!! I hope I made good ones for my girl.
I remember your story but enjoyed very much reading it again.
Well, you’ve got this old Courts and Boards clerk misty eyed………….
What a memory to cherish forever!
I missed this as well, rah. Those threads of individual lives certainly weave their miraculous patterns, don’t they. What a wonderful memory for you. Bless you for sharing it again.
This is an intro to a western John Wayne was in. Beautiful acoustic guitar piece just before opening scenes.
I hope Garrison sees this, Joe.
So Jacinda Ardern resigns as PM of New Zealand. She imposed the most radical of the COVID lockdowns on her people outside of China. She tried to isolate her island from the virus. But all she did was delay the inevitable and when New Zealand opened up again, their deaths spiked at about the same ratio as they had earlier in other developed nations.
She also had very repressive policies in other ways. Very hard leftist.
She is resigning as PM because there is not chance in hell she is going to be reelected and probably faced a no confidence vote in Parliament that she would lose.
But I doubt that who ever replaces her will be much better. In NZ like in the UK and Australia, there is little difference between the major parties.
Besides, New Zealand has been progressive left for a very long time.
How long has it been that way? Well, during WW II with the Japanese threatening to come further south, the union dock workers there refused to combat load the ships for “Watchtower”, the coming invasion of Guadalcanal. The 1st Marine Division that would be carrying out the invasion were forced to load their own ships! Thus supplies piled high on the docks were sitting in the weather, disintegrating the boxes they were packed in and leaving cans with no labels to identify their contents.
Kiwi’s fought valiantly on sea, land, and in the air. In N. Africa, and in the RAF in England, and then in the SW Pacific, they played important roles. But when it came to Union rights verses the threat of invasion of their own Country. Union rights won out.
Family resemblance?

She has also signed on with Pfizer to promote their products…one in particular. This surprises me not one bit.
The more that spills out from Hollywood and elsewhere, the more I look back to Mel Gibson’s rants long ago about the moral degradation of what goes on there.
I recommend Sundance be cautious with Tracy Beanz. She was part and parcel of the trusty planners team. If she’s now allied with Stew Peters in talking about vaccines, that’s an even bugger red flag. He is the guy who popularized the notion of “self-assembling graphene spiders” over on Gab and had hundreds of people passing around a very polished, professional video of that nonsense.
Early on in the Trump admin Beanz was one the Q “bread bakers”. I caught her in a lie very on, relating to fake story about some rogue Navy officer firing off a missile without authorization. Turned out the video was of a helicopter flying over with its spot light pointed downward. All the Q idiots like Rex and Thomas Wictor and the other Q dopes were all passing that around.
I have no idea who was behind all the Q nonsense, but I had a strong suspicion that it was a well-organized disinfo operation designed to spread confusion and undermine truth. It was a clever combination of truth and self-admitted fiction (“sometimes we’re wrong”) and I strongly suspect intel sponsored.
If Q was an intel op, Beanz is not trustworthy. Personally Im tired of the debate over Trump and the vax. At this point, it’s of zero value and the only practical point is to undermine Trump and buttress RdS, who is trying use this issue against Trump. Trump holds an honestly held belief that the vax is safe and effective. When the research and data convince him otherwise I think he’ll change. It’s also worth noting that Trump’s approach is to convince the establishment to self-reform. And he’s right that without help from LOTS of people who love the country, he cannot succeed.

March for Life’s new abortion fight is against worse-than-Roe policies
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/march-lifes-new-abortion-fight-is-against-worse-than-roe-policies
Thank you, Troublemaker, for this article.
I saw a headline this morning which said “Good News! Six Percent Fewer Abortions since Roe v Wade Was Repealed”
Better, maybe…but still heartbreaking to know that far far too many clearly do not understand the grotesque reality. To take a life in the most inhumane and brutal way? It is clear those who celebrate the act are woefully and tragically uninformed. Our moral standing as a country has been destroyed because of it. I often wonder how God can continue to shed His Grace on this nation.
Oddly, I was thinking of Wilberforce yesterday. A name unknown to most Americans. He was right. Once seen, there is no going back to pretend that the reality of abortion is anything other than what is, in fact, is. An abomination.
Bet, sadly, I think that many of those celebrating the murder of babies know very well what they are supporting. And it comes straight from the pit of hell.
And if God punished His chosen people for sacrificing their children to Baal, I shudder to think where this country is headed to after murdering over 62 million children in a satanic ritual.
I know, G. It is so horrible, I can barely bear to think of all those babies… gifts from Almighty God.
I believe these women truly remain ignorant of what is involved. Some have more than one. When they reach an older age, they will reflect, as we all do. One can’t murder one’s own child(ren) and expect to remain unaffected forever. Especially if these women go on to have children. I simply can’t imagine how many, I wonder, tell whatever children they do have what they did before they arrived. What is the unknown affect on that mother-child relationship after. It’s all just so wicked.
As I’ve said before, what a patient God is He. I’m surprised we haven’t been Sodom and Gommorah-ed yet. I truly keep a weather eye out for such an event. He must have His limits.🙏
Something came to me last night while I was in prayer. I am inclined to share it with you, as I often obey Holy Spirit’s prompting. I hope you all, believer and not, will indulge me a moment.
I have been watching the conversations here. Sometimes I post and sometimes I feel too small to post… that I don’t always have to give my two cents. For an opinion is worth what you pay for it, right?
I have known some in my life who go about beating people on the head with the Bible. They enter a group and they pull up a milk crate and stand on it proudly and burst forth with a diatribe from The Word. They do so unsolicited. They often come off condescending… as way to make sure everyone knows their moral superiority and their high intellect.
The pharisees did that. It did not go well for them.
I speak, because the Holy Spirit leads me to. I, personally, much prefer the “walk along with me” gospel. The Word given as a gift to answer a predicament, an emotion, a memory, a matter at hand of much concern. I view this thread as a stroll through a town where we all greet one another warmly and ask how the family is. Where we feel the proverbial handshakes. Where when one…goes through great trouble and loss… it is not too much to ask to pause from our stroll, sit on the curb, arm around the shoulders… and we listen… and sometimes we weep together. It is good to have relationship. We need to teach this to our children… that sometimes we don’t have all that much to say… we can just exist with one another.
You all share so much. You give so much. I AM BLESSED because of you.
For those who vomit words without street cred, I encourage you to pause. I encourage you to think of motive and why you are posting what you do. Is it to elevate The Christ? He needs no opinions – His Word is good enough. If you post scripture and nothing more – let The Word speak for itself – as The Holy Spirit leads those who read it to understand it in the perfect timing that is appropriate for each one’s Spiritual growth. I believe, Christ wants us to have relationship with one another to truly know and apply what we are talking about.
I’ve known some who beat people over the head with The Word. They do not convert people. It is sometimes abrasive and sometimes the person doing the beating is just as corrupt as the devil himself. I’ve known one. Who beat people over the head with The Word… then abandoned his daughter and attacked me and her causing us to lose our home. It is everything in me to defer to The Lord my wrath. It’s one thing to attack me… it’s another to attack my girl. And no amount of vomiting The Lord’s Scripture will redeem him, as long as he continues to live his lies.
I thank you for your time in reading this. If I offend, I ask forgiveness. I believe iron sharpens iron and I believe the Treehouse is an excellent place to form deep and abiding relationships with the likeminded. I thank Sundance for our forum and pray he is okay with me boldly speaking.
Love and generosity and truly the Lord’s redemption and love to all of you. From my heart, to my hands, to your screen.
Special hat tip to Duchess and her reminders of putting on the Armor of God. We need the reminder and God’s Word without adding more to it… is enough. Bless you, Duchess.
Take My Hand – Bing video
So eloquent, my sister.
Adjusting to a town multitudes larger than our beloved Welsh town where we were so happy has taken some doing and a long time at that. We’ve settled…but I have been trying to replicate the feelings of contentment and warmth where we have been placed. To a great extent I’ve accomplished that.
Yet I continued searching still…until I found my branch in a community of branches…here on this beloved site. And here was what I was looking for! Miraculously!!
You are more right from my perspective than you can imagine. But it took your inspired words to make me understand it in the context I’ve just related. So obvious an analogy but I missed it completely.
I’ve said often that while we don’t know each others’ faces, we know each others’ hearts, which is so much better.
We each bring our whole selves to this place, and each has something to give, whether in long posts or short. We share our concerns, our experiences, our hopes and our joys. Particularly our relationships with Almighty God and His Beloved Son. And most important…as we are all works in progress, striving to be more like Christ, we are aided along the way by our fellows who offer their their wisdom, their words of faith (so often through Scripture), and so much more.
Blessings?? There are too many to count!
May God continue to bless you, my friend, with your beautiful soul and the channeling of your thoughts through the inspiration of Holy Spirit. You are a real treasure very much loved. And a real blessing to us all. Bet💕
Well said, JWoo! No one has ever brought anyone to Christ by beating Christ into them or with a two by four. Like the saying goes, make a friend, be a friend, introduce your friend to Christ. Blessings to you and your daughter, dear friend!
FBI Chief Says China Stole Sensitive Data for Use in AI Program. Could this be part of the information at the Biden home?
Probably…
“Stole” or paid our greedy government rulers for “sensitive information”?
There is such an awareness among Treepers of the horrible malpractice that has been perpetrated upon humanity by the medical community that we trusted to protect, or at the very least “do no harm.”
Many are aware that this extends well beyond the Covid 19 debacle, and have always been wary.
Many, however, are still discovering how dangerous modern medicine truly is.
Here is an older blog post, but it bears revisiting since more and more people are awakening.
